[I admit that this chapter is really boring so you can skip it it you want.

I'll give a summary of what happened at the bottom.]

Once they reached the island, the girls parked in a cave behind a waterfall on the island. They were now deciding what to do next.

"I think you being a Kabuki is our best bet," Kylie told Nya, who was absorbed in watching the palace, her eyes trained to any moving person that might be one of her own. "Excited to go down?"

"And nervous," Nya agreed. "A Kabuki would be a perfect disguise. But how to look like one is the question."

"Well, how do the Kabuki here get dressed up? A gift shop?" Kylie joked. "They probably have a dressing room somewhere. You can sneak in!"

"Oh, actually, that's a good idea." Nya tilted her head in thought.

"I think you could do it. It's better than our original plan."

"Me too."

Nya snuck around the palace for a few hours, occasionally updating Kylie over the radio. Finally she found the Kabuki dressing rooms, snuck in, and changed into a dress. Another Kabuki (who suspected nothing) helped her put on the makeup.

"Yes, I'm in!" she whispered to her watch which was the radio. She was walking down a hall, following a few other Kabuki.

"Awesome!" Kylie replied.

Nya walked around the room with the other Kabuki, fanning herself and dancing around a little. She spotted the ninja and her heart stopped for a second.

"And I don't think it's about your food." Nya became aware of a man speaking to Chen. "I've heard word they have allied themselves. The ninja have told them about our secret ceremony."

She let out a small gasp, then slowly crept her way towards the table where the others were.

Chen began telling everyone how he was stealing all the powers for the staff, which he would give to the final standing elemental master. The remaining eight started debating on whether Chen was actually doing it for his own evil plan or not. Soon enough, most of the fighters were turned against each other, and the alliance was crumbling.

Nya was now very close to them. She began fanning Jay, who was at the end of the table, to get his attention. She stepped closer and brushed his face with the fan.

"If we're gonna convince anyone," he was saying, "we need proof. We need to find that spell. Would you cut it out!?" he finally snapped.

"Jay, it's me," Nya whispered.

"Nya?" her friends turned and looked at her.

"Lower your voices. I'm undercover. And to be completely honest, a bit out of my element." She motioned to her dress. "Wait, is Cole out?" her face paled.

They nodded sadly.

"Yeah. I feel so bad," Jay whined. "It should have been me."

"What do you mean, should have been you?"

"We had to fight each other," Jay squeaked. Nya put a hand on his shoulder, and he squeezed it.

"Like, he got out on purpose?"

"Kinda; he let me win."

"Oh," she sighed sadly. "Well, I'm sure he knows what he's doing."

"I hope so," Jay sighed shakily.

"Is it just you, sis?" Kai asked.

"No, Kylie's also on the island, and in contact with Wu."

"If you're undercover, that means you can get close to Clouse's spellbook," Kai informed her. "All we know is that it's on page 149. I think he might have it in his quarters."

"I'll look into it. And it sounds like you have your work cut out for you, too."

"How so?" Jay asked.

"How do you think they found out about your little alliance? Someone in your circle of trust is a spy."

"A spy?" they all gasped.

Nya spied the man walking towards them, so she quickly walked away.

"Kylie?" Nya whispered into her bracelet radio.

"Yeah?" Kylie's voice came in.

"Tell Sensei our objectives are set. I'm gonna find the spell and get proof Chen's up to no good while the ninja sniff out the spy in their alliance."

"Perfect. And fill me in more later."

"I will."

Nya snuck around the palace some more, and stole the keys from a guard. She then snuck into the quarters of the man at the dinner (whose name was Clouse), and found the book. She was able to take out the page with the spell and hide just before Clouse almost came in. He briefly flipped through his spellbook, then took it and left the room.

"Kylie?" Nya whispered into her radio.

"Yeah."

"This is bad. Really bad."

"What? What happened?"

"Well, I found the spell, and it's to turn a whole army into Anacondrai, the Serpentine seemingly without a weakness."

"What?! I don't really know what that means, but- what do you need to do now?"

"I need to get this spell to the others!"

"Then do that."

"Hmm, Kylie- Cole's out of the tournament."

"Oh, no," she gasped. "How? Where is he?"

"I don't know, I don't know!" Nya moaned.

"Well, take it one step at a time," Kylie offered. "He's strong and he can handle himself."

"You're right. Thank you."

"Yup. Good luck. And remember you're not alone."

"Ok, thanks. Signing off."

Nya left the room and entered the main dining hall, where Chen was watching Kabuki dancers. She spied on him from behind.

"Someone has stolen the spell," she heard Clouse say in his low, eery voice.

"Do you need the page to do the spell?"

"Of course not. But if it gets into the hands of the ninja, the fighters will know we've lied, then they'll rise up against us."

A wave of panicking heat washed over her. Now she was in danger of being caught.

"Then we must find that page!" Chen screeched. "Argh! Kabuki paint. Ugh. It gets everywhere!"

A Kabuki dancer spied Nya and pulled her in to dance. She did her best to copy them.

"Master, I have a feeling a spy may well be in our midst," Clouse said.

"A Kabuki servant? Well, well," Chen hissed.

"The spy may have the page still on them," Clouse gasped. "Guards! Search every servant in this room."

Guards surrounded the Kabuki dancers.

"Kylie! I'm being searched!" she frantically whispered into her bracelet. She couldn't help but let out a shriek as a guard turned to her. He saw the paper.

"Here it is!" He held it up. Other guards crowded around Nya, trying to grab her. She kicked them and darted.

"The spy! The spell!" Chen cried. "GET HER!"

Nya ran out of the room, ran from Clouse and the guards.

"Kylie! Come in!" Nya yelled into her watch as she darted out of the castle.

"Yup? I'm here!" Kylie was concerned; she could hear her friend's heavy breathing.

"They found me!" Nya panted. "I'm running from them, they're hot on my trail, and I'm sure there will be more. They don't want me to have this spell. I need backup. And I need to get the spell to the others!"

"I'll be on my way. I can see where you on the map."

"Ok- wait, no! You can't come! They'll see you. Meet me in the jungle on the South side. No promises I'll make it, but they can't see you. That would really risk us getting caught."

"But what about the camo setting?"

"That only works when we're stationary, and I can't risk- Ahh!" she suddenly shrieked.

Clouse was upon her.

Kylie listened intently to the audio from Nya. Lots of grunting from her and whoever she was fighting. She knew to stay silent.

Finally it was over, as Nya's hard breathing and rapid tramping were the only sounds to be heard.

Finally she spoke. "Wait for the cover of night before you move. I've escaped them, and I'm heading in. Come find me once it's dark."

"Will do," Kylie replied. "Glad you're ok."

"Me too. That was... I haven't fought that hard in a while."

Finally it was night, and Kylie flew into the jungle, following Nya's signal. Once she got close enough, she turned on the headlights, spotted her, and made a landing. 

She let Nya in. "I think we're safe for now," the noirette smiled.

"You still have your Kabuki outfit on. It looks great, by the way."

"Oh," Nya reddended.

"Here, I'll help you clean up."

"Thanks."

"But you have to tell me everything."

Cole woke up, and immediately hissed in pain. His back still burned. Fortunately, it had been bandaged well, and he could sit up.

Zane.

Zane's counting on you. The others are counting on you.

He felt for the keys in his lower pants pocket. Thank the First Spinjitzu Master, they were still there.

He had to get up.

He had to-

What if he collapsed in the middle of a tunnel? They'd find him, and they might never get off this damned island.

He couldn't risk it.

All he could do was sleep, in attempt to evade the pain and pass the time until he was well enough...

Sun shining high above, Kylie waited in the camouflaged D.B. as Nya roamed the jungle, hoping to meet up with one of the ninja. They were hunting her, as they heard from speakers mounted on some trees.

Out the window, she saw a blue figure walking- it was Jay! She quickly undisguised the vehicle and hopped out.

The blue ninja whimpered and hid behind a tree.

"Jay, it's me!" she said, running towards him. He peeked out at her, realized who she was, and ran to her. She threw her arms around his neck and hugged him.

"Are you ok? Where's the others?" she blurted out, stepping back to look at him.

"I'm great, as much as one can be in this situation. I don't know where the others are. Where's Nya?"

"She's looking for the others, but I'm still in contact with her, so she can update me."

"Sweet! Can I talk to her?"

"Yeah, but if she's trying to be quiet then she won't answer." They hopped in the D.B..

"Oh my gosh, this thing is awesome!" Jay marveled, looking at all the controls.

"Watch this." Kylie grinned as she turned on the cloaking function.

"Wait, did that just-"

"Camo? Yup."

"This is genius! Nya made this?"

"Yup," Kylie beamed.

"She's so smart."

"I know." Kylie pushed a few buttons. "Ok, I'm gonna buzz her. That way we're inaudible."

"Sweet," Jay breathed.

"Whatcha need, Kylie?" Nya's voice came in on the radio.

"Hi, Nya!" Jay squeaked.

"Jay? Is that you?" Nya asked.

"Yes!"

"So good to hear from you! Where are you guys?"

"We're still waiting in the D.B.," Nya informed her.

"It's a super amazing genius invention!" Jay added.

Nya huffed. "Thanks."

"Found anybody yet?" Kylie asked.

"Actually, I saw someone be captured by Chen's people a couple hours ago. Looks like he's picking them off one by one. You two will need to stay hidden."

"Same to you," Jay asserted.

"What should we do, if Chen's going to steal the rest of everyone's powers?" Kylie asked. "There will be no one to show the scroll to."

"Well, Chen needs all the powers to complete the spell, so as long as there's at least one element he doesn't have, we'll technically be good, until we can get to the staff and destroy it. Can you two stay hidden for me?"

"Yeah." Kylie observed Jay.

"Ok," he sighed.

"Thank you. Remember, keeping yourself safe is keeping Ninjago safe. I'll talk to you later."

"Sounds good," Kylie said.

"Bye, Nya," Jay said.

A buzz of static from the radio and she was gone.

Jay sighed.

"So... how was the tournament?" Kylie asked.

"Hahaha," he laughed sarcastically. "It was... awful, really. Everyone was so mean. Cruel. Unfair. Whatever. I'm just glad I'm not out yet."

Kylie nodded.

"But- Kylie, I feel really bad for Cole. He let himself lose. He's down in prison or something somewhere and I could be the one out instead. He's much more helpful than me, and we all know it."

"Jay, that's not true. You all have your different strengths. How did Cole let himself lose?"

"W-we had to fight each other, and it had to be one of us so he just... let me win. But I didn't really win. And he didn't lose. Chen's the real- Chen is- he's a jerk." he stuttered, then burst into a fit of dry laughter. "Best word I could think of."

Kylie hummed. "You scared?" she gently nudged him with her elbow. It was more of a statement than a question.

"Sure. Yeah, yeah, sure." He looked down and fidgeted with his hands.

"It's gonna be ok," she assured him, putting an arm across his shoulders. "I can feel it."

"How?" He leaned slightly closer.

"I don't know," she playfully shook her head. "You just gotta have a little faith."
