Ayesha's P.O.V:
I plodded my way along the empty pathway, playing with my fingers as I solved the rubik's cube within me. I went over the events as I sat on a bench, one after the other pieces gently fell into place.
I twisted the second to last piece, left and then right but it wouldn't fit. I looked up, suddenly feeling lost. I ran my fingers through my hair, unravelling the knots as I did. Then I pulled the loose hair into a messy bun, leaving a strand on each side.
Questions slowly slipped away beneath the sound of chattering teeth. As if on cue a jacket slipped onto my shoulders, a wave of warmth ran through me. Simultaneously a pair of arms wrapped around me, as I looked up Abhi lowered beside me, a smirk playing on his lips. With a gentle tug at my hair tie, the curls bounced neatly onto my shoulders.
"Khule rehne do, aise ache lagte hain (Leave it open, it looks nicer like this)." He whispered, leaning his head against the side of mine.
I rolled my eyes as I folded my arms. "Fursat mil gaye tumhe (You've found time, have you)?"
"Kya hua? Tumhare mood kyun kharab hai (What happened? Why are you upset)?" He asked, unwrapping a cornetto as he sat beside me.
I gazed at the ice cream, briefly forgetting what I had to say. Abhi held the ice cream in front of me, prompting me to take it.
I took the ice cream. "Agar tumhe lagta hai yeh ice cream de kar tum conversation avoid kar sakte ho, toh tum galat ho (If you think you can avoid this conversation by an ice cream, then you're wrong)." I spoke as I took a bite.
"Acha batao, kya hua (Okay tell me, what happened)?" He asked as he propped his elbow onto the bench and his cheek against his palm.
"What were you doing with Ulfat?"
"What was I doing?" He asked nonchalantly and reached for the ice cream. I moved it so it was out of his reach and shot him a glare.
"Tumhe jalan ho rahai hai (Are you feeling jealous)?" He asked, his lips twitching at the corners.
"No!" I shouted as if it was the most absurd thing I'd heard.
"Dekho, woh meri dost hai aur mujhe uski fikar hai (Look, she's my friend and I care about her)." I paused. "Mujhe lagta hai woh tumhe pasand karti hai (I think she likes you)."
"What's wrong with me? Why can't she like me?" Oh, so he's playing the dumb card. "Abhi." I sighed.
"Ayesha." He replicated my sigh and wrapped his arms around my neck.
"When you know you can't reciprocate her feelings, why lead her on?"
He took my hand in his, his expression growing serious by the second. "Are you talking about what happened on the coach?" He asked, I simply nodded in return.
"There's really nothing like that. She fell over and scraped her knee, it was rubbing against the chair in front and she looked uncomfortable so I offered to let her stretch her legs over mine. End of story."
"You're not getting my point." I sighed, closing my eyes in frustration.
"You know it's not like that-"
"I'm not the one who needs to know, she does." I cut him off.
"Ok . . . I'll just be careful next time." He said as he cupped my cheek with his thumb. He sat back while I nibbled on my cornetto.
"Can I have some of that ice cream now?" He asked, suddenly reaching forward.
"No, get another one." I swatted his hand away as I took a full bite.
"No, I want this one! Suna nahi hai kya? Bantne se pyar badhta hai (Haven't you heard? Sharing food increases love)." He wiggled his eyebrows as he grinned at me.
"Tum ek bite lo, phir main ek loon (You take a bite, then I take one). Too much fun." He stared dreamily at the ice cream.
"No, not happening." I said, clicking my fingers in front of him.
End of Ayesha's P.O.V
While Abhimanyu and Ayesha had resolved their "fight", Rohan was yet to discover what was inside that note.
Third person P.O.V:
Rohan opened the note, it seemed familiar. He looked at it for a few minutes until it struck him, it was his handwriting.
The note read, "I was confused but not anymore, I want you back. I want to give us another chance."
Rohan scrunched up the note into a little ball as he remembered that day.

"Ro!" A voice called out to Rohan as he walked through the double doors into his Maths lesson. He turned back to find Tanya standing there, he gave her a bright smile.
"Do you have a minute?" She asked, a little hesitantly. "Sure." He nodded.
Tanya sat on the bench while Rohan followed behind her. He stood in front of her, patiently leaning against the wall as he waited for her to speak.
"Rohan . . . I'm tired of this. I can't be in a relationship in which only I invest." She spoke up suddenly and stood. "You need to sort out your priorities. It's either you want to be with me or not." She said looking straight into his confused eyes.
"I need an answer Ro." She added before she walked into the classroom, leaving him to ponder over her words.

Rohan skimmed his fingers over his chest then traced his hands down to his pockets until he could feel his phone. He pulled it out from the inside of his front pocket and typed a quick message. He pressed send and stood still as he waited for an answer.
Soon enough his phone began vibrating, he pulled out the note from his pocket and made his way to see Tanya.
On the other hand . . .
Ayesha chased after Abhimanyu as he ran ahead with her photograph.
"Not fair Lambu." She moaned as she stomped her feet. Abhi stopped running and turned around to face a sulky Ayesha sitting on the floor.
Abhi bit his cheek as he tried to contain his laughter and walked towards her. He crouched beside her, rocking back and forth as he struggled to keep his balance. Instinctively, Ayesha held out her hand, taking Abhi's into hers. Slowly, he sat beside her.
Ayesha eyed the photograph in his hand. "Abhi." She smiled at him as he looked over.
"You know you love me-"
"Yes, but no." He cut her off.
"Urgh!" Ayesha let out a frustrated groan and stood up.
"Acha! Pehle sadhna band kar (Okay! But first stop fuming)." Abhi smiled in defeat as he held her hand, pulling her back onto the floor. "Aur mujhe ek pyari si pappi do (And give me a nice kissy)." He said as he forwarded his cheek.
Ayesha slapped his cheek away lightly and stood up. Abhi pouted as he rubbed his cheek and held up the photo. Ayesha happily took the photo and placed it into her pocket without looking. Then she crouched beside him and brushed her lips against his cheek. Abhi threw his head back, pretending to faint.
"Abhi!" Ayesha squealed as she lost balance. He held her hands, his fingers in between the spaces of hers and attempted to pull himself up.
Their heads smashed as they both sat up. "Ouch!" They shouted in unison, a frown between their eyebrows. They pulled apart as shutters clicked around them.
"Come on lovebirds!" Shouted Aayat as she waved at them to come over to the coach.
They stood up and started walking towards the coach with stumbling footsteps. Abhi nudged Ayesha. "Lovebirds, ey?" He asked as he raised his eyebrows. Ayesha gigged as she pushed him away playfully, Abhi held her hand and pulled her back, engulfing her in a side hug.
"Hey." Rohan said as he caught up with them, his eyes glued on Ayesha. Abhi smiled at him while Ayesha put her earphones in and continued walking ahead, leaving the two boys behind.
Abhi awkwardly smiled as he pointed after Ayesha, he opened his mouth to say something but Rohan stopped him. "It's ok, you go."
***
Abhi shuffled in his seat, desperate to speak. Ayesha saw this from the corner of her eye and took out her earphones. "Spit it out." She chuckled.
"Why did you walk off? You know, after you chased me for that photo?" Ayesha shrugged, her features impassive. She turned away to look out the window.
They sat in silence until Abhi decided to break the ice. "Do you want to watch Bajrangi Bhaijaan?" He asked with a smile. Ayesha smiled back and took one side of the earphones.
As the film opened with shots of mountains, memories flashed across Ayesha's mind.

Ayesha handed her tickets to the attendant at the desk while Fatima stood patiently beside her.
The girl skim read through the tickets then she ripped a bit and looked up. "Screen 2, seat K3 and K4. Enjoy your film." The girl smiled at them as she handed back the tickets.
"Thanks." Ayesha mumbled as she took the tickets and walked towards the screens, she stopped outside the toilets. "Aap jayein, main bas aati hoon (You go, I'll just come)." She said as she gave Fatima the ticket and they went in their separate directions.
Ayesha walked straight into the toilets, she looked around. "Why are there urinals in the girl's toilet?" She wondered aloud. Her eyes widened and her lips opened in an 'o' shape as it struck her.
She quickly rushed out the toilet and walked towards the women's when she bumped into someone. "Looking for me?" A voice questioned, the smirk audible in his tone.
Ayesha looked up. "Rohan." She rolled her eyes in exasperation. "Don't flatter yourself." She scoffed at him.
Rohan just stood there. "Will you move or what?" She barked at him. Rohan held his hands up in defence and stepped back, letting Ayesha get past.
***
Ayesha tapped her feet impatiently. As she waited for the film to begin she looked around, her eyes briefly wandered to the empty row of seats beside her.
She shrugged it off as the lights began to dim and turned her attention back to the screen.
Fifteen minutes into the film a crowd of teenage boys walked in, filling the empty seats beside Ayesha and Fatima.
As the boys sat in their seats, the speakers started blasting music.
Jai jai bajrangbali
Tod de dushman ki nali
Hail lord hanuman
Break the enemy's veins
Hey . . . Dha tuna tuna baaje danka
London ho ya lanka
Goonje re chaaron ore
Drum beats with a loud sound
Be it London or lanka
It makes noise all around
The boy beside Ayesha started whistling as Salman made his entry.
"Tussi cha gaye bhaijaan (You have done a splendid job brother)!" He shouted on top of his lungs, throwing kisses at the screen.
Ayesha whipped her head around to look at the boy. She gasped, shock written all over her as she saw Rohan, she held up her hand in an attempt to hide her face.
Aap ki rahe anukampa
Na darr na hi shanka
Nachenge hum chor
Jogi chalaye koi jantar
Khilega tera antar
Tu aaja guru mantar
Ye le le re
May there always be your compassion
May there be no fear or doubt
We'll dance with all the might
Even if someone does (black) magic on us
Your heart will open
Come, take this mantra from this teacher
Ae le le, ae le, ae le
Ae le le, le le re
Apna paraya jo bhi le jhappi le le re
(Ae le le, ae le, ae le
Ae le le, le le re)
Masti ki tanki me tanik dubki le le re
(Ae le le, ae le, ae le
Ae le le, le le re)
Your close or far, whoever meets, hug him
Take a dip in the tank of fun
Rohan chuckled as he high fived Ayush. His eyes fell on the girl sitting beside him while he leaned back in his chair. He inched forward, trying to get a glimpse of her face but he couldn't see her due to the lack of light.
He scratched his neck as he tried to remember where he had seen her but he was completely blank. Just then the girl moved her hand, tucking the loose tendrils behind her ear. Rohan watched as she did, the vibrant colours from the screen reflecting on her left profile.
"Khatta nimbo (sour lemon)!" Rohan mouthed enthusiastically, a wicked glint in his eyes. A smile crept onto his lips as a thought occurred to him.
Chal beta selfie le le re
(Ae ae ae ae ae)
Chal beta selfie le le re
O son, take a selfie
The boys pulled out their phones and started taking selfies.
"Say cheese!" Rohan shouted in Ayesha's ear, making her jump. Ayesha looked at Rohan and he captured their little encounter.
Ayesha threw her head back against the headrest as she cursed her luck.
* * F l a s h b a c k f i n i s h e s * *
Ayesha broke out of reverie as she heard her name being called. "Ayesha, wake up." Abhi said as he gently shook her.
"We're here." He informed her.
Ayesha rubbed her eyes as she looked out the window, the familiar sound of cars zooming by waking her up. Slowly, she made her way out of the coach and stood in the turning circle.
Abhi stood beside her as he waited for the bus with her, they jumped onto the wall and Ayesha rested her head on his shoulder as she stared far into the distance.
