[83] How to draw female profile (TUTORIAL)

A quickie tutorial since I have a few spare moments as I take a break from cram studying...

And no, I haven't forgotten about my art trades! I want to do them after my exams so they aren't rushed and can be something I'm proud of <3 Thanks for sticking with me!

But anyway, this is basically how I draw in profile, and you don't have to follow it. It's just a suggestion if you can't seem to get the proportions right! There's no right or wrong way in art :)

Soooo onto the tutorial!

1. Draw a circle. Pretty basic, can be any size. Just make sure its relatively round and still can be considered a circle and not a blob XD

2. Draw a slightly curved line down from the edge of the circle in the direction of the oh-so-helpful arrow I have drawn for you. Mathematicians may call this line a tangent. (sorry, was attempting to study for maths XP). This will be our guide for the face

3. Now, from where the line meets the edge of the circle, start your new line. This is kinda like an capital L followed by a line approximately parallel to your face guide line that you drew earlier.

4. Now you wanna add in the details of the nose, mouth and chin and all that. I mean you could leave it as how it is in step three, since some anime do draw their profile faces like that (mostly moe-type arts) but I like to do it this way ;D

An easy way to do this part is separate it into three lines, shown in the arrows.

5. and now add the brief outline for the hair! Remember, hair isn't glued to the scalp, so its a little above the circle that you drew in step one. You can also add in the eyes and mouth etc.

6. Add in some extra details to the hair (lol, got lazy here)

And you're finished!

I re-drew it again in pen~~ for reference. Also did a bit of the body

Well this was the whole drawing but I don't really like it since the pose and position of her arm is really awkwardly stiff :/

But once again, there's no right or wrong way and I'm probably not the best artist to be learning from, but I do hope this tutorial helped! If you try out my tutorial tag me so I can see your awesome work :D

And if you would like more tutorials, I'd be more than happy to do them (so you don't think I fell off the face of earth, during my exam period XD) and basically keep this book alive XP

I could probably do chibi body proportions (that I recently figured out myself), male profile or shading in pen?
