Everyone sat together to have their dinner.

Mani gulped.

Mani:Naangalaa?

Ashwathy: Aama anni vaanga polaa.. summa ve dhane irukkinga neenga veetlaye? Namma Polaame?

Mani:Illa da adhu..

She looked hesitant.

Hússain:Enakku work irukke da..

He tried to reason.

Shivadith: Oru one day mattum leave kelunga mama, please..

Mani:Yasmi ku vera kaachal ippodha seri aayirukku..

Ashwathy: Adhaa ippo okay aageetaale anni? Namma poitu varlaame..

Mani looked at Yasmi, who was playing peek-a-boo with Shivash.

Ashwathy stopped him, placing her palm on his thigh. He got silent.

Ashwathy:Seringa anna..

They finished their dinner and spoke about the famous places to visit in Bangalore. 

But that night, Mani fell sick and they cancelled the plans to go out.

Mani:Neenga poitu vaangalen da..

Ashwathy:Adhellaa paravala anni.. naanga irukkom.. ungala vittutu epdi poradhu? ungalukku seri aanadhum ellaarum saendhu polaam..

Shivadith:Rest edu soóniyo.. nee illaama naan épdi poven sollu?

Mani pinched his arm.

Mani:Podaa loosu..

He smiled and went out of the room, leaving Hussain and Mani alone in their room.

Hussain:Mani..

Mani:Veliya ponaa edhaadhu panneervaangalo nu bayama irukku da.. Enakku vera enna pandradhu nu therila..

Hussain hugged her and caressed her back, giving her comfort.

Shiva held Ashwathy's palm.

She turned towards him, raising her brows.

He hugged her around her neck. She caught his elbows.

Ashwathy:Shiva?

Shivadith:Akka poi soldraa..

He murmured in her ears. She caressed his back.

Ashwathy:Seri, everything is going to be okay.. seriyaa? vaa Yasmi unakkaaga wait pannuvaa.. 

He hummed, pulled back, rubbed his whole face, and walked past her. She followed him behind.

Shiva, Yasmi, and Shivash got busy in their own world.

Ashwathy looked at her husband, who was more happy around the kids. The two pearls became a therapy for his overthinking brain. The current period of their lives made her feel like they were in a lockdown room. Though he has so many thoughts and worries inside his mind and heart, he has never shown them to anyone. She felt an urge to share his worries and get benefitted at last with his happiness. 

So, she silently slipped out of the room and moved towards the kitchen. She switched on the light, took the tumbler, and fetched some water from the purifier.

Though she got a little bit afraid of the wall clock sound and the water-pouring sound, which were echoing throughout the whole house, She grew in confidence and peaked out to look at Mani and Hussain's room door, which was locked. She gulped, left the purifier's tap, lifted her hand with the tumbler, and drank the water, looking at the ceiling and her peripheral views.

She then placed the tumbler back on its place and moved out, switching off the lights in the kitchen and switching on the hall lights and fans. 

Her peripheral views got the brown closed door as she walked towards the couch and sat on it, turning on the TV. She took the remote with her trembling hands and changed the channels, but her views were only fixed on the closed door. 

After a few minutes of sweating and trembling, her hands fisted the couch in fear when her ears heard a door opening sound. She gulped and murmured the Murugan slogan, getting herself ready for anything's, but she jerked when the hand was placed on her shoulder from behind, followed by,

Shivadith:Paapa..

She turned back, stood up from the couch, ran towards him, and hugged him tightly, snuggling her face into his chest. He narrowed his brows but rubbed her back and hairs when he felt her trembling in his arms.

Shivadith: Ennaachu da ma? Nee yen Inga vandhu utkaandhirukka?

Ashwathy:Shiv.. Shivaa ba..bayamaa irukku..

Shivadith: Yedhukku ma? Onnula.. naan inga dhane irukken? Onnula da.. vaa.. vandhu utkaaru nee..

He sat on the couch and made her sit beside him. She hugged him more tightly.

Shivadith:Seri seri onnula.. thanni kudikiriyaa? Naan poi éduthuttu vartaa?

Ashwathy:Mhumm venaa, please enna vittu engayum pogaadha..

Shivadith:Seri seri.. engayum pogala.. veruthuruchu paaru paapa ku..

He blew air on her neck, shoulder, and head and wiped the sweat over her with his palm.

He patted her back gently while playing with her fingers, she gripped his palm and fell asleep in his arms.

Shiva kissed her temple, leaned himself back on the couch, stretched his legs front over the teapoy, and made her place her head on his lap. She slept, placing her legs on the couch. He caressed her back, patted her back, and slowly slept in tiredness.

The next morning, Mani came out of her room, and her gaze fell on her brother and his wife, who were sleeping on the couch, cuddling. She smiled, went to take the duvet, came back to cover them with it, and went to make coffee for her and Hussain.

Soon, Hussain too came out, and they sipped the coffee, settling themselves on the dining table.

Hussain:Enna Inga paduthu thoonguraanga?

He asked, pointing to the couch.

Mani: Therila.. TV, remote le dha off aagi irukku.. Switch on le irundhuchu.. may be TV paathuttu apdiye thoongeerkalaam..

Hussain:Mm. Yasmi, Shivash, thoonguraanga laa?

Mani:Aama da, Shivash endhiruchaan.. ippodha feeding bottle le paal kuduthuttu vandhen.. Thoongeetaan thirumba..

Hussain:Mm..

Shiva, hearing some whining, opened his eyes and stretched his limbs, yawning, but he felt a strong hold on his vest straps. He looked down, lifting the duvet, and looked at his wife sleeping with a snore. He smiled and tried to get up, but she whined and hugged him around his neck. He went inside the duvet and kissed her forehead. 

Shivadith:Paapa vidu ma..

Ashwathy:Thook.. mm..

He smiled and pecked her cheeks. She clicked her tongue in annoyance.

Shivadith:Azhagi, vidrii Vidunjiruchu..  Nee venaa thoongu.. enna vidu..

Ashwathy:Po venaa..

Shivadith:Seri seri thoongu naan pola..

He sighed, feeling her trembling again, and caressed her hair. She slowly went back to her sleep, hugging him more tightly.

He caressed her arms, kissed her temple, ears, and cheeks until she loosened her grip around him, and he placed a long, soft kiss on her forehead, which helped the wrinkles fade away. He slipped out of her embrace and stood up from the couch.

Hussain:Nalla thookamaa da?

Shiva jerked, turning back.

Shivadith:Mama.. Neenga..

He dragged, raking his fingers through his hair.

Hussain: Paravala da.. thangachi eh ulla kooptu poi padukka vai.. Keela urundu vilundhura poraa..

Shivadith: Ahn seri mama..

Mani:Shivash ku feeding bottle vachu paal kuduthutten.. thoonguraan.. nee ivala ulla poi padukka vai..

Shivadith:Mm seri ka..

He moved towards Ashwathy and tapped her shoulder with a heavy heart. He's not ready to wake up his sleeping beauty. But she had to wake up, as they were in the middle of the hall. 

Shivadith:Maa.. Ashwathy.. Endhiri da.. Ulla poi paduthukko..

Ashwathy:Hmm..

Mani: Thookeetu poyiru da, paravala..

Shivadith:Illa ka adhu..

He hesitated as his wife was in his loose tee which will not be in a place, for sure.

Hussain:Seri vaa Mani.. Avan kooptu pottum.. Namma ulla polaam…

Mani: Ahn Seringa..

They moved towards their room but stopped hearing a door-knocking sound.

Shivadith:Naan.. naan paakuren ka..

He rushed towards the door and unlocked it, but his eyes narrowed seeing the person before him on the doorstep.

"Hello, Shiva Anna."

Shiva smiled slightly, trying to remember the name of the person.

Shivadith:Nee.. nee.. yeah, nee Rani dhane?

Rani smiled widely at him.

Rani:Naane dha.. epdi nah irukkinga?

Shivadith:Nallaarken da.. nee ulla vaa..

She smiled and came inside with her small trolley.

Mani:Vaa Rani..

Rani smiled at her.

Hussain gave her a smile.

Shivadith:Iru naan vandhuren..

He moved towards Ashwathy, lifted her in his arms along with the duvet, and moved inside the guestroom to make her sleep beside Yasmi. 

After getting himself refreshed, he wore a shirt and track pants before walking out of the room to see Mani and Hussain sitting in front of Rani, and they were having a conversation.

He smiled and sat beside Rani.

Shivadith:Apro da? Enna padikira nee ippo?

Rani: 11th standard, Anna..

Shivadith: Ohh, avlo perusaageetiyaa?

After a few minutes of silence,

Shivadith: Ungala laa vandhu paakave mudila.. Vikram, Pandi, Sekar, Prathiksha ellaam epdi irukkaanga?

Rani:Mm ellaarum nalla irukkaanga nah…

Shivadith:Next time varumbodhu kandippa ellaarayum paakanum.. nee enna Inga dhideernu vandhirukka?

"Hey, Ms.Sixer Queen!"

Ashwathy came out of her room and smiled at Rani widely.

Rani:Hi ka..

Ashwathy sat beside her.

Ashwathy:Nee enga Inga? yeppo vandha?

Rani:Ippodha ka vandhen.. naan two weeks aah ve inga dha irukken.. three days munnaadi dha coimbatore poyirundhen.. ippodha varen..

Ashwathy and Shivadith shared a frowning look.

Shivadith:Inga dha irukkiyaa?

Rani:Aama anna..

Shivadith:Inga epdi..

He dragged and looked at his sister.

Mani:Rani oda appa, amma oru accident lé dhideernu yerandhuttaanga da Adith.. namma Yasmi oda friend dhane indha ponnu.. adhaa ava orey adam namma veetlaye Rani eh stay panna vachukalaa nu.. Adhaa ingaye irukkaa Rani..

Shivadith:Ohh..

Ashwathy smiled and wrapped her arm around Rani's shoulder. Rani lifted her face and gave her a smile.

Rani: It's okay, ka.. naan ippo nalla dha irukken.. appa amma nenappu varum, but Mani Akka uhm, Hussain anna uhm.. enna nalla paathukuraanga..

Mani and Hussain smiled at her.

Hussain:Seri naan office ku kelamburen da..

Rani:Anna phone vachuttu poringa..

Hussain took his phone from the table and smiled at her, bidding them all bye. He left the house.

Shivadith:Pandi’eh laa kadaisila enga marriage le paathadhu.. yen ma?

Ashwathy: Aama Shiva.. Pandi enna da padikiraan?

Rani: 12th standard akka... sir Romba busy… Énga kittaye yeppovaadhu dha pesuvaaru..

Shiva and Ashwathy chuckled.

Rani:Mani ka, Yasmika enga?

Mani:Ava.. ava thoonguraa da..

Rani:Ohh séri serii.. anna ungalukku baby porandhirukku nu akka sonnaanga?enga avanga?

Shivadith:Ulla thoonguraan da..

Rani:Thambi papa vaa?

Ashwathy: Aama da iru naan kooptu varen..

Rani:Naanum varen akka.. Refresh aaganum.. Vandhuren anna..

Shivadith:Seri da..

Rani and Ashwathy moved into the guestroom. They went inside to see Yasmi tickling Shivash's feet and playing with him.

Ashwathy: Yasmi..

Yasmi turned towards her with a smile, but her smile dropped when she saw the person beside her.

 Rani looked at her.

Yasmi blinked her eyes, got down from the bed, and ran past them outside the room. 

Ashwathy: Yasmi, enga pora? nillu da..

Yasmi ran towards her mother and hugged her tight.

Ashwathy and Shiva looked at her and frowned.

Shivadith:Ennaachu Ashwathy?

Ashwathy:Therila nga.. thambi kooda dha velaadeetu irundhaa.. dhideernu odi vandhuttaa engala paathadhum..

Mani:Adhu.. adhu onnu illa da Rani kum avalukkum chinnadhaa oru sanda.. adhaa kochuttu odi vantaa pola avala paathadhum..

Ashwathy:Ohhh..

She smiled and looked at Rani. Rani gave her a slight smile.

Ashwathy:It's okay, da.. Ava pesuvaa, don't worry.. Nee poi refresh aageetu vaa po..

Shivadith:Ashwathy, Shivash enga?

Ashwathy:Ulla dha velaadeetu irukaan..

Shivadith:Avana inga thookeetu vaa…

Ashwathy just hummed, went inside to get her son, and came out with him.

"Dada wee"

Shivash lifted his hands towards Shiva. He took him to his lap, and Shivash played with him with the teddy toy.

Shivadith:Yasmi mama te vaa..

Yasmika rushed and sat beside him, hugging him around his waist. Shiva wrapped his arm around her and kissed her head.

And then, after a few minutes, 

Yasmi:Podu podu podu.. Bahubali..

"Eyyy"

He threw the toy at her. Yasmi caught it and placed it on the floor. He crawled on his thighs and took that, looking at her with a toothless smile.

Yasmí:Podu podu akka te podu..

"Heehaaaww"

He threw it on her face.

Yasmi giggled. Shiva and Ashwathy were sitting beside each other and cuddling, with their fingers playing with hers and his toes, tracing her ankles. Mani was left inside the room to rest for some time to maintain her lie.

Shivadith:Maa..

Ashwathy:Enna?

Shivadith:I love you.

Ashwathy:Romba naal kalichu kekuren..

Shivadith:Maa..

He nuzzled into her neck.

Shivadith:I love you ma..

He bit her neck.

Ashwathy:Shh podaaa..

She pushed him away.

He leaned in again, but they maintained a distance when Rami walked out of the room.

They smiled at her. She smiled back and sat on the couch.

Yasmi took Shivash in her arms, ran inside the guestroom, and closed the door.

Rani looked at the closed door and averted her gaze back to the TV.

Ashwathy stood up and moved towards the kitchen.

Shivadith:Pandi oda photo irukkaa da?

Rami:Illaye anna.. Ennaachu?

Shivadith:Illa avana paathe romba naal aachu adhaa ketten.. call panlaamaa?

Rami:Eduppaanaa nu therila.. Irunga kooptu paakuren..

She took her phone and called Pandi.

Rani:Edukuraan edukkuraan.. hello.. Haan Nallaarken.. iru unakku oru surprise..

She turned on the speaker and gestured for Shiva to speak.

Shivadith:Pandi sir..

Pandi:Ada Shiva anneyy.. epdi irukkinga??

Shivadith:Voice vachey kandu puduchuttiye da? Naan nallaarken nee epdi irukka?

Pandi:Nallaarken neyy.. Ashwathy anni epdi irukkaanga?

Shivadith:Nallaarkaa da.. iru koopudren.. Ashwathy..

He called her.

Ashwathy:Aahn..

Shivadith:Inga vaa Pandi pesuraan..

Ashwathy came out of the kitchen and moved towards him before taking her seat beside him.

Ashwathy:Hello Pandi..

Pandi:Anni epdi irukkeenga?

Ashwathy:Nalaarken da nee epdi irukka? Paakave mudiyardhu illa romba busy ohh?

Pandi: 12th vanten le anni? naan yedho irukken.. ippove athana class test vachu koldraanga anni..

Ashwathy: Acho porumaiyaa pannu da.. enna class test eludhunaalum ellaam public exam le dha irukku seriyaa?

Pandi:Kandippa anni.. noothula oru vaartha sonninga ponga..

They all chuckled.

Pandi:Seri enakku oru mukkiyamaana vela irukku naan apro call pandren..

Shivadith:Apdi enna da mukkiyamaana vela?

Pandi:Online le quiz anuppeerkaanga neyy.. rendu mani nerathula mudikanum.. 

Ashwathy:Sheri nee poi paaru da.. call pannu free aanadhum…

He declined the call.

Shivadith:Adhukulla ithana test aah ivanukku?

Ashwathy:Paavam le Shiva?

He patted Ashwathy's cheek, ruffled Rani's hair, and went inside his room.

Ashwathy and Rani spoke about random things especially about Rani’s school life and exam pressures.

Shiva, who came inside the room, straight away went to the balcony and called Rudy.

Shivadith:Rudy enga irukka?

Shivadith:Anga enna pandra?

Guru and Prakash laughed.
