Your POV

"Mhm what's that smell?" I said aloud.

I could go for a good meal, I haven't eaten in days ever since I lost my job. I'm about to be evicted from my apartment too. I peered outside my window to witness a high school aged boy cooking up some meat.

"Um, are you ok?" The red haired boy asked.

I didn't realize I was staring. "Haha, oh yes sorry! I got caught up in watching you cook, it looks and smells good." I replied.

"Oh, do you want some?" He asked.

"Oh, no...I couldn't do that."

"It's fine, my captain says I need to cut back on my eating." He laughed

"Oh ok, I'll be over in a sec!" I proclaimed as I threw on my shoes and walked over.

For a high school male athlete, he keeps his place pretty neat. I see a lot of basketball merchandise, so I'm guessing he's plays.

"Thanks again, I haven't eaten in days!" I said.

"Days?! Why not?" He was shocked.

"I lost my job, so I've been frugal with the little money I have left and I have to come up with a way to pay my rent this month." I explained.

"That's ashame, isn't there some family member that you could live with?" He asked.

"Well you see, I'm kind on bad terms with my parents. I got tired of their rules and decided to move out without them supporting me, and the rest of my family isn't from here, so to answer your question, no."

I could see in face that the red head felt bad for me. I'm not trying to get him to feel bad for me or to think that I'm desperate.

"Have you tried looking for a new job? I don't know what you're last job was, but I know Maji burger is hiring, you could try applying there." He suggested.

"I have been looking, but I couldn't find anything. I used to work at a bank as a bank teller for a little above minimum wage. It's  hard to find other jobs like that because I'm only 17, so I guess working at a fast food place is my only option right now. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll apply." I said.

I looked at the clock which read 10:30pm.

"I appreciate the meal! I must be going now because I have school in the morning." I said as I got up to leave.

"No problem, and what was your name again?" He asked.

"Oh right, I never introduced myself! I'm (l/n)(f/n), a second year at Seirin high school."

"You go to Seirin too?! I'm Kagami Taiga, a first year and a member of the basketball team," he said.

"Really, well I guess I'll see you tomorrow!" I said as I left.

Narrator's POV

(Y/n) and Kagami walked to school together in the morning. Eventually over the course of months, they became close friends. (Y/n) applied for the job at Maji burger and got the job within a few weeks; however, the job there wasn't enough to support living, and she was evicted from her apartment, but hasn't told anyone.

"Hey (y/n), how are you doing?" Kagami asked.

"I'm ok," she sighed

"Idiot, I know you're lying." He replied

"Fine, I guess I'll tell you...I was evicted from my apartment, the job at Maji burger wasn't enough."

"Where are you living?!" Kagami asked in a concerned tone.

"Outside, on the park bench across from the apartment complex." She answered.

"Dumbass, why didn't you say something sooner?! You can stay at my place until you earn enough money to support yourself."

"I couldn't do that...I mean wouldn't the school be suspicious of a high school boy and girl living together?"

"Who cares about what the school thinks idiot?! I-i love you (y/n), and I don't want to lose you." The red haired boy confessed.

(Y/n) blushed," Kagami-kun, I-i think that's the nicest thing someone has said to me in a long time. I love you too," she responded as she buried her tear stained face in his chest.

Kagami wrapped his arms around (y/n), and then the two kissed. Not caring about school, they went back to Kagami's apartment.

"S-so does this mean we're dating?" (Y/n) asked.

"Y-yeah, I guess so." Kagami blushed.

"Is it ok that we skipped school because of this? I mean isn't captain Hyūga going to kill you?"

"Shoot, you're right!" He exclaimed.

"Ha, who's the dumbass now?" (Y/n) smirked.

Your POV

Living with my boyfriend for the past month has been great. I still want to eventually move out though because I don't like being a burden. Lately, I've noticed a slight change in Kagami. I don't know what it is, but he seems a bit protective. For instance, yesterday at school during lunch, a guy in my class was asking me about today's assignment, and Kagami glared evilly at him the whole time! Currently, I am waiting in the library for his practice to be over.

"(Y/n), I'm finished," I heard my boyfriend say as he entered the library.

"Finally! So how was practice, did your vertical jump increase?" I asked as we started walking home together.

"Yeah, it did." He replied.

Ok, I expected him to sound a little more happy about that...something's up.

"Is something wrong, you don't seem happy?" I asked.

"I want you to quit your job at Maji burger." He stated.

"What, why?!" I exclaimed.

"Because there are too many guys looking at you. Plus, you don't need to work anymore you can live with me forever!" He declared.

"What the hell Kagami, are you serious?! Do you think I'm going to cheat on you?!"

"No, I just don't want any man looking at you, you're mine."

This isn't the same Kagami I once knew and loved. What could have happened over a month to make him act like this?

"I'm going to work." I declared as I started to walk away but was stopped by Kagami's tight grasp on my wrist.

"Let go!" I shouted as I struggled frantically to break free from his grasp.

"Only if you promise to quit your job," he replied.

"No! You can't force me too! Even though I'm your girlfriend, I am an individual too!" I protested.

I somehow managed to break free from his strong grip, and started running, leaving him behind.

"Maybe he just needs some alone time," I thought.

Oh, but I thought wrong.

I went to work at Maji burger as usual and finished my 6pm to 10pm shift. When I walked outside of Maji burger, I was abducted by none other than my boyfriend, Kagami. He carried me back to the apartment with duck tape covering my mouth so no one could hear me scream. When we were inside the apartment, Kagami threw me on the couch and removed the duck tape.

"Don't even run away from me like that again!" He yelled, slapping me in the face.

"Why are you acting like this Kagami?!" I inquired while holding back tears.

"I'm sorry (y/n), I just love you so much." He wept.

"Kagami-kun, don't cry. I know you're a little insecure since we haven't been dating for long, but don't worry you'll develop full trust in me as we're together longer." I said comforting him.

I do feel bad despite what he did. After all he is letting me live with him for free, so I'm sure there's some stress with that not to mention being a starter on the basketball team and having school work as a student.

"Thank you (y/n) for understanding. To make up for my behavior I'll make you (favorite dessert)." He declared.

"Alright! I can't wait!"

Finally, (favorite dessert) was ready. I took a bite and I was so engrossed in the taste that I didn't realize I had eaten the whole thing that quickly, and didn't realize that it was a mistake.

I awoke to find myself trapped in a cage. Where the hell did he get a cage from?! I hate to admit it, but I'd rather be at home with my parents right about now.

"Bakagami, let me out of this cage! I know this was your doing!" I screamed.

"I'm not letting you out, I don't want people to see you. I am the light and you are the shadow that I'm trying to hide." He said.

"What did you put in my dessert?!"

"Laxatives~"

"I don't understand you...I thought you said you loved me." I sobbed.

"I do love you (y/n), but I can't let you out of this cage." I replied.

"No you don't! This is not love, this is your insecurity. You're afraid of me leaving you for someone else! Well at this rate, I will! Please, just let me out, I'll even give you another chance before I decide to leave this relationship." I cried.

"Do you promise?" He asked.

"Yes, I promise." I replied.

He opened the cage door, and unlocked the shackles that bound me. I calmly talked to my 6'3 boyfriend who was in tears realizing what he did was wrong. I told him he had to go see a consoler to talk about his insecurities if he wanted to continue dating me. He agreed and got consoling, and now he's doing much better. He is still a bit protective over me, but he's not trapping me in cages anymore. Part of me liked that yandere side of him because it showed that he actually does care for me a lot, he just didn't know how to react. I decided to move back in with my parents after this incident. Even though I don't like my parents rules, I know they just want to make sure I do the right thing.

After a few months of consoling, Kagami was back to the same Kagami that I knew and loved. Always eating excessive amounts of food and doing flashy moves on the court. Hints of his yandere side still showed, but they were under control for the most part.

"Bakagami, good luck in your game! Go hard in the paint!" I said as he was lacing up his sneakers.

"Thanks (y/n), and after this game we're going to go hard in the sheets!" He smirked revealing his yandere side.

I blushed," I hope you don't still have those shackles."

He grinned.

Oh boy, this is going to be a long night.
