Kumamon Lover; 679th Day
Yoongi gets pulled out of the train, now breathing the air of Busan.
Jimin is beside him, the position so natural that he can imagine it for ever. They're pulling on one suitcase, having planned on staying for no more than six days. It's the only break Yoongi has before he gets busy with his debut which is just a month away.
Being the enthusiast of everything really, Jimin excitedly pulls Yoongi along, their interlocking hands evident as the elder walks behind Jimin, pulling their baggage.
"Abeoji said he would be here with Jihyun!" Jimin delightfully says as he scans the area, ignoring the blatant stares of passers. Yoongi grunts as a response, but can't help but smile and gently squeeze their hands, heart exploding in elation. He doesn't know why he suddenly surged with so much joy; perhaps, it was the fact that their warm love was out in the open for people to see with neither of them afraid to show it.
The thought quickly disappears, attention pounced somewhere else as Jimin shouts "Abeoji!" as he waves with his other, unoccupied hand. Yoongi looks to where Jimin seems to be looking and sees a man with an identical bright smile of Jimin's waving at them happily.
Not being able to have a proper reaction, they're already standing in front of him, Jimin gushing about how he hasn't seen his father in so long as he hugs him. "Is that Yoongi?"
The said man's attention snaps fully on Jimin's father, now. "Yes. That's him~" Jimin merrily answers, pulling Yoongi into a side hug.
Yoongi is a bit nervous of what Jimin's father might think, but the close proximity he's pulled into by Jimin makes him flush a little as he's bowing. "Hello, abeonim. I am Min Yoongi, your son's... boyfriend." His hesitation was due to nervousness, he felt butterflies flutter in his heart when he introduced himself like that.
But, it wasn't fear of anything, Jimin had already told them on the phone that he would bring a boy home, and they'd been pretty surprised then. He's glad at least the father is openly accepting it now.
When he looks up at him, he sees the man warmly smiling, ultimately making him release a small relieved smile as well.
"Where's Jihyun?" Jimin asks, swinging on his feet as he looks around. "Didn't you say he came along?"
"He did," Jimin's father says. "But he got hungry, and he's probably coming back with some food right now."
"Oh yes, there he is– Ji—hyun–ah!" He yells, immediately catching the attention of his brother (who's more than a hundred meters away). The boy looks a little embarrassed, but smiles nonetheless as he walks over as quickly as he can with food in his hands.
"Hyung–" before Jihyun can even say anything as he passes some of the food to his dad, Jimin is already hugging him as he ruffles his hair.
"How did you grow so much from when I last saw you? You're like twenty-three! I stopped growing so fast when I was twenty-two," Jimin pouts, making Yoongi's chest lighten with softness as he chuckles.
Their still intertwined hands get tugged on by Jimin. "This is my boyfriend."
Jihyun's eyes widened at the words. "Wait! That's what you meant when they said you were bringing a boy home and not a girl?!"
Jimin then suddenly retreats a little, eyes slightly flinching, Yoongi's heart is nervously beating a little too fast for comfort too but he wasn't that worried about it – if the dad accepted, everything would be fine, right?
A split second later, Jihyun lets out a momentary hum before quickly and cheekily saying as he shrugs, "Honestly, not that surprising– at least you could've told me sooner," he grumbles the last bit.
Jimin's expression quickly lightens up and Yoongi's lips escape a sigh of relief.
"What do you mean not surprising? How did you even know?"
Jihyun cracks him a knowing grin. "You're my hyung, I know these things. Also, it's pretty obvious when you used to stare just as long at good looking boys as you did to girls."
Embarrassed, Jimin flushes, not believing his brother noticed something even he hadn't noticed. When he thinks about it now, it's all makes sense.
"Mom says she's reaching home in an hour, shouldn't we get going?" Jimin's dad's voice interrupts their conversation as he eats the sandwich his son got him, sounding amused, really.
"Why don't we get the sandwiches?" Jimin complains.
"You two've got food waiting for you back at home."
The whole time, Jimin's hand never left Yoongi's; it would be a lie to say they didn't enjoy the small smiles and glances they got because of it (especially those glances from the father and the brother).
—
Everyone is introduced and warmed up with Yoongi by the time they're having dinner, already joking with the dad and complimenting the mom.
Jihyun seems to have taken a liking to Yoongi – his soon to be brother in law as he jokes. When the two start a conversation while the eldest son is helping around the house after dinner, Jihyun finds out more about Yoongi, and his relationship with Jimin.
"Jihyunie, since you like that girl in class, you better marry her and hand off our good genes, okay?" Mom suddenly says as she appears in the room. She dramatically sighs when Jimin enters right behind her, a pout on his lips. "Jimin's perfect genes won't be passing on, so you have to work hard, alright?" She says, clearly joking; both of her sons start laughing,
Yoongi smiles at the the scene as the family is enjoying their time, feeling like he's really living a dream. This is too good to be true. But, then he remembers all the times he'd endured the pain life threw at him, and it's the moment he really is glad for overcoming those times, being patient with all the shit passed his way to be brought to the paradise he is at now. It's worth it. It's all worth it.
"Yoongi?" His thoughts are interrupted by Jimin's mother, a soft smile on her lips. He sees how the two are related. They have the same eyes, he thinks.
"Yes?" He replies.
"It's already ten, you should head to bed. Jimin's planned a lot for both of you for tomorrow."
"Yeah! There's so much of Busan to see, hyung! I'll show you all the pretty places," Jimin's excitedly saying as Yoongi walks towards them, about to head to Jimin's room that he'd been to earlier.
Snorting, Yoongi retorts, eyeing his man, now standing just by his side, "I doubt anywhere will be as pretty as you," he mutters, the words falling right out before he can even think.
His cheeks flush realizing he actually said that, with Jimin's family right in the room. But all his worries are thrown out when he sees Jimin's embodiment of sunshine. He offers a small smile, endearingly patting his shoulder as he heads upstairs (really needing to lie down actually).
Just as he reaches the top, he hears Jimin get pulled back for a moment. Shrugging, he continues to get ready for bed. Jimin would end up beside him under the duvet anyway.
—
"So you've found your home, have you?" The surprising warmth in her voice startled Jimin, soul blooming in joy when he realizes she understands.
He smiles like he's got the world in his hands, eyes holding the most content anyone's ever seen.
"Yeah. I have."
