Kumamon Lover; 436th Day
"Hyung, where's the salt?" Jimin asks, searching a few drawers, feeling strange to look in an unfamiliar kitchen.
As he's getting out the potatoes from the pantry, Yoongi's muffled voice replies, "The top cupboard right above the stove."
"Thanks, hyung," Jimin sweetly replies, suddenly making Yoongi's heart beat faster, even when they're not face to face. He's glad his face is hidden; he doesn't get out of the pantry until his face cools down.
The two do their already decided divided work in the kitchen, exchanging words here and there as they cook together.
—
"What?" Jimin playfully asks, leaning to his side to look at what Yoongi was cooking as he raises an eyebrow. "Are you sure you're making this right, hyung?"
Yoongi gives him a look, playing along as he leans to look at what Jimin is making. "Are you sure you should be the one saying that?"
Mocking a loud gasp, Jimin shakes his head in disappointment, both of them laughing afterward. Yoongi eyes the sink and sighs, "You look after the food, I'll wash the dishes–"
"No!" Jimin suddenly yells, making Yoongi stop, eyes widening slightly.
"What the hell was that? That scared me," Yoongi says, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Ah, sorry," apologizing sheepishly, Jimin steps forward. "I'm doing the dishes. You look after the food."
Rolling his eyes, Yoongi steps towards the sink, "This is my house, I'm not letting you do the dishes."
Jimin then gently holds Yoongi by the shoulders before making him step away, "And what did I say when you started doing them suddenly when you were over mine?"
Looking at Jimin pouting, his hands heavy on his shoulders – that he was very aware of – he can't help but give in, turning the other way to look at the stove. "Whatever," he mutters, leaving a bubbly Jimin to the dishes as he tries to hide his flustered self.
—
"Can I hug you?"
The question leaves his lips before he can even think what he's asking, heart instantly starting to pace when he realizes.
Yoongi already has the stoves turned off and is leaning against the counter, Jimin's back facing him as the dancer is washing the dishes.
There's a few seconds of silencing, erupting a fear of some sort in Yoongi– was that too far–?
"Why is that something you need to ask?"
For the first second, Yoongi doesn't process what Jimin just said. Then, his face breaks into a grin as he steps closer.
Fulfilling his long-term urge to hug Jimin, Yoongi slowly wraps his arms around his waist from the back, burying his face into Jimin's hair, lightly breathing in his scent that he loved so much.
He notices the other has stopped washing the dishes, now drying his hands. Feeling a soft, cold pair of hands hold his, his hold is loosened before Jimin turns around and wraps his own arms around Yoongi as he nuzzles into his neck.
"I don't know how I went so long without hugging you, hyung. I'm a really physical contact type of person," Jimin admits, whispering, the sound sending shivers down Yoongi's spine.
Yoongi just grunts in response, tightening his hold again, extremely content with the moment, the grin not leaving his face.
They just stand like that for a while, neither of them backing away. And Yoongi finds the moment so lovely, he wants to keep it in his heart forever.

"... Hyung... I would hate to let go but I still need to do the dishes."
"Just shut up. I've been deprived of this since Japan. Couldn't even hug the mascot..."
"Well, the person inside it is right here, so it isn't a problem, right?"
"Yeah, you should continue the dishes."
"... I would if you'd let me go."
"Well, you aren't letting go either."
