[alternative storyline] [myg bday special]

312th day

"Hey, Jimin, when're you heading out? I'm waiting for you outside, come quickly— wait, don't tell me you're waiting for everyone to get off the plane? You're still doing that?" Taehyung's voice came through on the phone just as Jimin stood up, smiling at the person who got his carry-on down.

Then, as he walks out, behind all the passengers, he lightly whines into his phone, "What's wrong with that? It helps me take my time."

"Well, anyway, hurry up. My roommate just texted me he won't be home until tomorrow, working on something at a friend's, so we have to drop by to get groceries and then you have to make us dinner because I'm a shit cook."

"Calm down, I'm literally walking out, I see you through the glass doors." Just as he says that, Taehyung turns around to look at Jimin and wave happily. The call ends there as the glass between the two is no longer.

Falling into a happy and warm hug, the two grin widely. "It's really been a while."

Jimin pouted, looking up a little, "You've grown even taller."

Sheepishly laughing, Taehyung pulls back, holding onto the luggage. "Doesn't matter. You're still cute, Jimin-ah. I'll call a taxi."

Nodding, Jimin looks around, bewildered. It's just the airport. But, it's Seoul. It's really Seoul.

There's a thrum of happiness and excitement in his blood at this realization, finally feeling as though he'll actually find what he's looking for in this city. He can't be sure, but he's always been the one to hope.

There's a tug to his hands, snapping his attention back on Taehyung's big smile.

"Let's go."

Jimin smiles back. "Yeah, let's go."

———

313th day

By the next morning, everything was unpacked, but they still needed to go grocery shopping having ordered in food the night before.

"Before we go and buy stuff, I can show you around a bit, this area," Taehyung suggests, looking really happy. Both of them were happy, they were such good friends, parted by their dreams and goals. But, now they were here, together.

"Okay, I should probably get used to the area," Jimin agrees, grabbing his phone to head out with Taehyung.

"Didn't you say you have a car?" Jimin asks, wondering why the two were at a bus station after walking around the area a little — getting Jimin more acquainted in the neighbourhood.

Taehyung gave a look of surprise. "Oh, yeah, I do. But, hyung's using it. He'll be back today, so tomorrow we can drive around."

"Hyung? The other roommate?"

"Yeah."

Then, Jimin wonders, "Hey... how's he like?"

"Hm? Well, he's... something, I suppose. He seems a bit cold, but he's cool. A little hard to go past his walls, but I'm sure it'll happen over time, so don't feel down when he seems like an asshole."

Jimin doesn't give a vocal response, just nodding as the two wait for the bus.

"Ah, here it is! The bus!" Taehyung cheers. "Today we're going to Nanta Theatre!"

The two get on the bus with a big smile, excited for the day.

Just after they sit down, a seat close to the front, Taehyung turns to Jimin, his smile not fading. "Then, we're doing to the illusion museum thing. Then, grocery shopping, then home."

"Sounds fun."

"It will be!"

"Ah, you go on ahead, Jimin-ah! I forgot something!" Taehyung had said. But, here Jimin is, standing in front of the apartment complex, with no keys to get inside.

He's standing by the parking lot, swinging on his feet as he waits for Taehyung to come quick — shaking his head to himself in disbelief that Tae forgot to give him keys.

Sighing, he looks around, trying to remember the area, smiling at the pretty trees and flowers next to the entrance of the building. As his eyes wandered, they landed on his own reflection on a car window, scrunching his nose, not liking what he sees.

He's been a bit messy these days, not sure how to organize himself with the move and the new area. Even if he's taking daily showers, he's had no time to actually take care of his skin and face or hair. With a small pout, Jimin continues to try and fix his hair, watching his own reflection on the tinted glass.

The more he tries to fix it, the worse it gets and the more frustrated he is. Scowling he looks at his reflection, sighing before he picks his hand up again to fix it again.

But, then, the windows slowly roll down, revealing two cat-like eyes, looking at him a little amused, his face mostly hidden by his mask.

"I think you look fine, I don't see what you're trying to fix," the man speaks, voice a little hoarse. It sounds like he's got a cold.

Jimin flushes, eyes instantly dropping down before he slightly bows, muttering a sorry, embarrassed out of his mind.

"It's alright. Just wanted to let you know." Jimin just nods to that, too embarrassed to look back at him— how long had he been doing that? And, just next to the driver's seat too — so fucking embarrassing.

Yoongi watches as a random man — very pretty if he might add — tries to fix his hair, unaware that the driver's seat of the car is occupied. It's quite amusing, really. His nose scrunches up cutely when he thinks he keeps getting it wrong, eliciting a small smile from Yoongi.

He could keep on watching until he went away, but with a cold, Yoongi didn't want to stay out here, desiring his own warm bed every passing second. So, he figured he should let the cute stranger outside his car window know.

He rolls down his window, watching in amusement as the guy's expression gradually turns from surprise to horrified to embarrassment.

"I think you look fine, I don't see what you're trying to fix," he says, smiling behind his mask.

"S-sorry." It's barely audible, but the man definitely said it, turning away immediately.

"It's alright. Just wanted to let you know." Yoongi doesn't know where he's getting the courage to talk this casual to this pretty stranger, but he doesn't mind.

Then he remembers, he's supposed to be heading up, resting in his warm bed for his cold to get better. He looks out the window to glance at the person who still hasn't left yet. Then, he furrows his brows slightly, what if this guy's trying to break in?

He leans a little forward, clearing his throat to get the guy's attention. "You live here?"

The man looks at him shyly, nodding a little. "Yeah, recently moved in."

"Oh? Where from?" Yoongi asks, opening his door then only pulling up the window before he grabs his bag and keys, exiting the car.

"Oh, you know, here and there. Moved around a lot, this time from Japan," Jimin answers, flickering a memory in Yoongi's mind that he brushed off a little too quickly.

So far, he seems genuine. No harm in just letting him inside the lobby, right? Yoongi thinks.

"You didn't bring your keys?"

"Ah, yeah, I didn't. My friend, he lives here, forgot to give me the keys when he sent me back."

That makes sense. "Alright, then, I'll let you in. Inside is better than out here."

"Ah, thank you."

With that, the two silently made their way to the front door, Jimin sighing happily as he enters inside. Yoongi, still with the mask on just smiles to himself. "Well, I gotta go. Maybe we'll see each other around?"

Jimin smiles widely, nodding, "Yeah. Thanks, again."

Yoongi just nods, walking towards the elevators, lips pursed in confusion as he's inside, going up. That guy somehow felt familiar?

Shrugging it off, Yoongi just walked over to his room after the doors opened, hoping he gets to sleep in the next day.

"Ah, Taehyung-ah! You're finally here. What was it that you were getting?" Jimin asks, exasperated, standing up at the sight of his best friend finally here.

Taehyung grins apologetically as the two make their way to the elevator, "Nothing big. I had to buy something for hyung. He's sick, and probably forgot he had to get some medicine."

Jimin just pouts to that, but then there's a warm smile. Taehyung's still as caring as ever.

"I know it's been a while, but I still love you, Tae," Jimin says, voice a little quiet and appreciative.

Just giving him a side glance, there's a wide smile on Taehyung's lips as he lifts his arm to softly wrap around Jimin's shoulder.

"And, I love you."

Scrunching his nose, Jimin pushes Taehyung away, "Ah, your breath stinks. You shouldn't have had that sample of garlic sauce at the store."

The two laugh their way back to the room, the closeness — despite their period of separation — still warm and comforting.

When the two enter their apartment, Taehyung lets out a sound of surprise. "Ah, he's already back."

"The other roommate?" Jimin asks, slumping on the couch right away.

"Yeah, guess you'll have to talk to him tomorrow or something. He's probably sleeping, I'll quickly leave the meds and water in his room and we can have dinner, yeah?" With that, Taehyung walks into the small hallway of bedrooms and bathroom.

And, just as said, the two have dinner and tired from the day, head to sleep. It's only next morning when Jimin's brushing his teeth that he realizes he never got the name of this other flatmate.

Looking at the time, he knows Taehyung isn't here, so he's a little hesitant on leaving his room. Will he be alone or will that guy be there? It's likely he won't be alone since the guy's sick.

Letting out a breath, Jimin decides to head out, too hungry to be worried over meeting a new person who he'd have to get used to living with.

The sight that meets him in the living room has him frozen at stance, eyes a little widened. It's—

"Yoongi... hyung?" The volume is so low, Jimin doubts the man heard him, but the way the man's eyes look up at him from his phone says otherwise.

Surprise fills his eyes as well. "Oh, you... Should've known it was you moving in," he says, laughing a little to himself.

The words confuse Jimin a little, but before he's able to say anything, Yoongi speaks again. "Sorry, but I thought you were an intruder yesterday. Didn't realize you were Tae's friend that was moving in, it matched perfectly too." He seems a little flustered, but Jimin's barely paying attention to that, still shocked at the fact that it's Yoongi hyung. The one from Japan.

"Tae never mentioned a name....?" Yoongi starts, eyes averting a little, looking embarrassed.

This makes Jimin finally snap out of his trance, laughing a little before he's beaming, taking a step towards the couch with glittering eyes. "Hyung! Yoongi-hyung!"

Then, finally, there's a light in Yoongi's eyes, recognition. It finally dawns on him the identity of the person who he never thought he'd meet again.

"Jimin?! As in Park Jimin? The kumamon mascot?" Yoongi asks, taken aback, not believing it.

The said man's gleefully giggling, eyes curved into crescents as he sits down next to Yoongi, his face radiating in happiness that it has Yoongi almost stop breathing.

"Yes, it's me! Hyung, wow— I can't believe it. It's actually you! Yesterday too! I couldn't recognize you because of your voice, but now. I really can't believe it's you here."

Yoongi nods along, eyes still a little wide in surprise, looking at Jimin with bewilderment and amazement. This man here had a beautiful heart and a beautiful face, what the fuck? People like this exist?

"Hm? Hyung?" Jimin says, eyes still shining as he leans a little forward, curious about what's going on in Yoongi's head. "You okay?" Then, he remembers, "Right, you're sick. Do you want me to make you anything? How're you feeling?"

Yoongi flushes, not meeting Jimin's eyes, suddenly feeling shy. "Ah, it's okay. I feel better today. I just ate, you don't have to make me anything. Your food is in the fridge."

"Oh, right, I have to eat," Jimin says out loud, like he just remembered, laughing at himself. "I'll be right back. We have so much to talk about!"

With that Jimin heads into the kitchen, leaving Yoongi on the couch, the musician's cheeks burning as he asks himself what the fuck was happening.

Jimin comes back with his bowl of food and he sits right next to Yoongi, smiling brightly even as he eats, happily chatting with the other — who's trying so hard to hide how flustered he is, fighting the heat that rises to his cheeks every time Jimin smiles.

When Taehyung comes home to the sight of Yoongi and Jimin happily chatting, it surprises him a little, but he grins in satisfaction and pride of his best friend, he's always been good with people.

"Hey, guys~ Jimin, I've got your keys."

Nodding at him, Jimin looks back at Yoongi, "Ah, I forgot to ask, how do you even know Taehyung? I really can't believe you two knew each other and never told me!"

"Wait—" Taehyung abruptly stops, staring at the two, just realizing how comfortable they were already. "You two already know each other?"

"Ahh! Don't tell him!" Yoongi says, covering his face with his hand, muttering, "It's so embarrassing..."

Jimin laughs loudly, setting Yoongi's cheeks on fire, the fair skin turning bright pink at the sound, heart thumping.

Taehyung gets excited, "This sounds good," he says, eyebrows wiggling slightly in excitement.

Then Jimin hesitates a little, glancing at Yoongi, who groans, "He's gonna pry it out of us anyway, just tell him and get it over with."

This brings another laugh to Jimin's lips before he's turning back to Taehyung, ready to tell him about their experience in Japan.

And, from the side, Yoongi watches from behind his fingers, still wondering if this is real or not.

321st day

"Ah, hyung, you're awake. I'm making some eggs, want some?" Jimin offers, smiling at the one standing at the threshold of the kitchen.

Yoongi blinks, taking a little while to process his words before he nods. Letting out a soft laugh, Jimin asks, "You need your coffee? Here, I prepared it earlier when I made some for me."

Jimin hands Yoongi a mug, making Yoongi look into it, seeming a little distracted. Noticing, Jimin leans down to try to get a look at Yoongi's eyes. "Hyung? You okay?"

Looking up at Jimin, Yoongi nods slowly. "Y-yeah. 'M fine. Thanks... for the coffee," Yoongi mutters shyly, taking a small sip.

"It's no problem~ you can take a seat as I prepare breakfast, hyung. You've cooked a lot for me, I want to return the favor with what I can!"

There's no way Yoongi can say no to that, so he just nods and sits on the chair of the dining table for four that's just out the kitchen, connected by an opening without a door.

When they're eating, Jimin brings up a topic that Yoongi hadn't realized he didn't talk about to him yet.

"So, hyung, you said you wanted to go solo. How's that been?" The two converse between bites, enjoying the food and each other's company.

"Ah, actually, I've got a YouTube channel. You... you can check it out if you want, I'll send you the link later."

"Woah!" Jimin exclaims, looking excited, "I'd love to!"

"And you, you dance, right? What're you planning?"

Jimin pauses for a second, looking upwards to think a little before looking back down at the food. "I've been applying to those performing restaurants and places where I can teach, hopefully I get accepted to any one of those."

"I'm sure you will," Yoongi says back, finishing up his food.

"You haven't even seen me dance, hyung," Jimin says, pouting, finishing up his food as well.

Yoongi laughs, leaning back on his chair, sending a fond look towards Jimin.

"Don't need to. I'm sure you're great."

———
346th day

Taehyung and Yoongi are comfortably snuggled on each end of the couch, scrolling on their phones when Jimin opens the door, voice booming in.

"Guys! Guys! Guys!!!" Jimin throws his shoes off, running to where the two are, "I got scouted today! By an entertainment company!"

Taehyung jumps up with him to celebrate, "I'm so proud of you, Jimin! I told you, you're an amazing dancer!"

When the two finally calm down to sit, Yoongi gives Jimin a warm smile, "Congratulations."

Jimin brightly smiles back, "Thank you, hyung!"

"Wait, but what did they say!? Do you have to audition?" Taehyung asks.

"No, apparently they'd been watching me for a while, and asked me if I made them myself. When I said yes, the man gave me a card and told me they're interested in hiring me as a choreographer!"

"Holy shit, that's amazing!" Taehyung cheers, expression mirroring Jimin's in happiness.

"What company?" Yoongi asks.

Jimin fishes his jacket for the card and reads, "Haengbok Entertainment." He notices the surprise on Yoongi's face. "What?"

"That's the same one that hired me two weeks ago."

"Guess you two will be work-mates. That's so cool, though. They must be a new company."

"Yeah. But, I doubt we'll see each other often. I was hired as a rapper, to debut one day, and as a producer."

"But, you two can still go and come back together!" Taehyung adds, pouting.

"Before we get there, I haven't even called them yet! We haven't discussed anything. Let's not get ahead of ourselves!"

But, Taehyung is already texting their friends, telling them there'll be a celebration for Jimin in the weekend.

Yoongi pats Jimin on his shoulder, smiling at him.

"It'll be fine. I'll be there too."

This reassures Jimin, making him grin wide, setting Yoongi's heart into a frenzy yet again.

"Yeah."

"Hm? Some friends I don't know will also be coming? Who else is there other than Jin hyung and Hoseok hyung?" Jimin asks, taking off his shoes, back from shopping for himself, a few things for Taehyung as well.

"Yeah. There are two. You'll meet them today, don't worry! Yoongi hyung goes over their place all the time," Taehyung says. At this, Jimin glances at Yoongi, who nods.

"Yeah, we make music together. Well, used to. After getting hired, we just help each other out. He's in the same company as Hoseok, though."

"Ah," Jimin nods in understanding, "When're they arriving?"

"Tonight."

"So, we've got time. I'm taking a nap, then."

"Leave my charger in my room!" Taehyung says just as Jimin enters the hallway.

"Alright, alright."

———
349th day

"We brought drinks!" Seokjin says just as Jimin opens the door, a bright smile on both of their faces.

"Nice to see you two," Jimin says, smiling at Hoseok as well, who's just behind Seokjin. The two enter, congratulating Jimin for his new job.

"Namjoon and Jungkook should be heading up in a few seconds, we raced to see who'd get here faster," Seokjin says, smugly grinning that they won as he sets down the plastic bag on the table.

Hoseok lets out a laugh, sitting down next to Yoongi. "Not fair when we were driving and they were walking."

This made the others laugh and just then there were quick knocks on the door. Taehyung smiles, "That must be them!"

When the door opens, Namjoon barges in, hurriedly taking off his shoes, pointing an accusatory finger at Seokjin, "Hyung! That wasn't fair!"

Seokjin just shrugs, smiling smugly, "Life isn't." This makes Yoongi laugh, which Jimin would look over and smile at — because, Yoongi's smile is so much better seen in real life than from behind a costume head — but he's take aback at the sight of who's at the door, baffled at how he's meeting all these people in the same friend group. The world really is small.

"Jungkook? Jeon Jungkook?" Jimin says, catching the attention of the boy at the door who's fixing everyone's shoes, not having properly entered the scene.

Jungkook looks with wide eyes, not expecting Jimin to be here. "Jimin hyung? What're you doing here?"

"I should be asking you that! I asked Mom, and she said you were out of country!" Jimin says, voice laced in disbelief, the rest just watch in confusion. Those two knew each other?

"Yeah, I was. That was for a program, I'm back now. I live with Namjoon hyung... But, I can't believe you're here, too! It's been so long!" Jungkook says, smiling brightly as Jimin comes forward to hug him.

"You two... what?" Taehyung asks, laughing in disbelief. "Jimin, are you sure you don't know all of us from somewhere already? Me, then Yoongi hyung, then Jungkook, too!"

The two separate, laughing, "Ah, Jungkook is my childhood friend. Lived in my neighbourhood, we went to the same school. He was a baby, but now he's so tall," Jimin spoke the last sentence with a little pout but then smiled anyway. "This is so crazy. And, nice to meet you, Namjoon... hyung? I'm Park Jimin."

Namjoon blinks, smiling in return, "Oh, yes, you can call me hyung. Nice to meet you too. And, congratulations on getting that job."

"Thank you!" Jimin's bright smile makes everyone smile as well.

"Now, that everyone's here, let's celebrate!" Taehyung announces happily.

"Yeah," everyone says, cheering. It's been a while since they got together and had fun.

"More excuses to drink but I'm not complaining," Seokjin says, getting sounds of agreements from the others.

"Yoongi hyung, get seven glasses," Taehyung orders, fumbling with something in the storage.

"Why do I have to do it?"

"I'll get it, then," but before Jimin stands up, Yoongi's already standing up, giving him a smile.

"No, I'll do it. He asked me, not you. It's your night."

This makes Jimin give a look of surprise, but he lets out his blinding sun smile, and Yoongi can't help but be happy that he's escaping a near-death situation with his heart beating too fast when seeing that smile.

"While he's gone," Tae starts, voice loud and mischievous, "Let me tell you the story of how Jimin and Yoongi hyung met!"

———
365th day

"Ah, Jimin-ah, you're here," Yoongi says, peeking into the practice room, eyeing Jimin's sweaty figure.

The dancer swings his head to look at Yoongi, who's standing by the door. Then, he smiles, "Yes, hyung?"

Suddenly getting flustered again, Yoongi averts his gaze. "Just wondering when you're heading home? Want to go together?"

The words bring a wide smile on Jimin's lips as he nods.

"Sure! Just wait there, hyung, I'll grab my stuff!"

Yoongi finally looks back at Jimin, cheeks heating up as he internally scolds himself. Why the hell is he so flustered these days? He was fine up until a week ago, but why is he getting so nervous around Jimin again?

Sighing to himself, he leans against the doorframe, thinking of the time at home, the time with Jimin.

With a pout to himself, he thinks, I really like him, don't I?

"Hm, hyung? You okay?" Jimin asks, snapping Yoongi out of his trance.

"U-uh, yeah, I'm fine. Let's go?" Yoongi says, avoiding Jimin's eyes, but the latter doesn't notice, nodding as he locks the door.

"Can we stop by the grocery store, hyung? There's some things I want to buy."

"Whatever you want."

———
420th day

It's one of those days when the company gives them a day off, wanting them to rest properly as well if they've spent too much time at the building.

Jimin's in his room, and Yoongi's in his own, resting in their own beds, in their own businesses. Sometimes exiting to eat, then heading back in to do whatever they were doing.

It's not unusual for them to sometimes go a whole day without properly talking, but it does feel a little strange, being under the same roof but only talking when necessary. However, they've gotten used to it, understanding each other.

So, when Yoongi hears a few knocks on his door, he mindless says, "Come in." His pair of earphones stopped working, he could hear his surroundings, having thrown them away the day before. He should really buy another one.

Jimin emerges, "Hyung."

Yoongi turns to look at him, raising his eyebrows as a response.

"I have... something," Jimin says, fumbling with something in his pocket as he finally enters Yoongi's room, carefully walking in without stepping on a few books and papers lying around. "I got it for you."

Looking at the thing in Jimin's hand, Yoongi's expression harbors surprise for a few seconds before he's grinning up at Jimin. "Thank you." It was a pair of new earphones, almost the same as the ones he had last time, but a better edition.

Jimin shyly smiles, "I noticed yours were about to tear a week ago, but forgot I bought them. But, I noticed you threw your old one out in the trash."

Yoongi is overwhelmed at the way Jimin paid attention to the small detail, feeling love surge in his heart as he didn't break his gaze from the other.

"Ah, thank you, Jimin. Really, thank you." The adorable smile Yoongi gives has Jimin almost melting, it's too cute.

"Well, that's it. I'll be... going back," Jimin mutters, a little awkwardly before he starts to turn around.

"Ah, wait," Yoongi says, making Jimin turn back around.

"Hm?"

"Do you..." Yoongi starts, unsure of where all this was coming from. He breathes in before completing his words, "Do you wanna hear my new song?"

There's a pause from Jimin, like he's not believing it. But, then his face turns into like one of an excited puppy as he's nodding happily, making Yoongi's heart clench.

"I'd love to, hyung!"

———
496th day

"Hey, I'm ordering food, what would you like?" Taehyung asks, slightly opening the door to Jimin's room.

"Whatever you're having is fine," Jimin says, then finally Taehyung notices, furrowing his brows before he enters the room.

"What's wrong?" He asks, sitting on the edge of the bed, looking at Jimin in concern. The latter looks like he's been thinking a lot, staring at the walls in silence, sitting up on the bed.

"I... I don't know how to say it," Jimin starts, eyes shutting as he sighs, leaning back on the headrest. "But... I don't know if I'd say it's something wrong. Just... unexpected?"

Taehyung scoots closer, now folding his legs as he's just next to Jimin. "Tell me," he softly says, resting a hand on Jimin's arm. "You know you can trust me, yeah? I'm here if you want to talk about it."

Jimin's eyes slowly land on Taehyung. He looks a little lost, confused, but it doesn't seem like it's agonizing, so that's a relief.

"Remember Jiwoo? Song Jiwoo?" Jimin asks suddenly.

Taehyung tilts his head. "The girl you dated in our second year? Yeah, I remember her. She was sweet, didn't really understand why you two broke up, you two seemed fine? Has she contacted you recently? Is she bothering you?"

Shaking his head, Jimin lets out a little laugh. "No, nothing of that sort. I forgot I'd never told you what really happened because it really wasn't my place."

"Yeah... I remember you saying that. So, what was it?"

"When we started dating, we knew it wasn't really serious. We actually just talked about it to test it out, since both of us were a little confused." Taehyung is nodding as he listens to what Jimin says, the pieces coming together.

Jimin continues, "And, we came to a conclusion about our confusions, and went separate ways. She liked girls, and she didn't want to tell her crush before she was sure about where she stands. So, that's that."

Taehyung's eyes widen a little in realization. "Ah! Jiwoo dated Minnie?" He sounded in awe, then he grinned. "Ah, they're cute. I remember wondering why Minnie was always pampering Jiwoo. It makes sense, now."

Giggling a little, Jimin nods, "Yeah. That's why we dated. And... I also had my own confusion."

Taehyung doesn't say anything, just smiles softly in reassurance, nodding, asking him to continue.

"I wasn't really sure what I was into. I always thought I liked girls, but it never really got deep, you know? It's... weird, I can't explain it well. I just can't like someone like others usually do. So, with that, I was sure it wasn't exactly girls I was attracted to either, there were other things I tried, too, watching stuff, reading stuff... but it felt weird for me, I don't know. It's not that I didn't feel anything, I had urges, I had thoughts, but... it wasn't girls? I don't really know."

Listening closely, Taehyung still slowly nods along, not interrupting, letting the other continue.

"And, I even... dated a guy, actually, considering the possibility. I never told you, because it didn't last long or was worth talking about. But, I tried it," Jimin admits, eyes casting down, feeling guilty for not having told Taehyung.

"It's okay, Jimin. I understand, don't feel bad about it," Taehyung says softly. "But, who was it? Did I know him?"

Jimin pauses, then nods. "You know... that guy... from our math class... Doyun. It obviously didn't work out. He figured he was straight, and I was still confused, because it wasn't men for me either."

"Doyun dated you?" Taehyung asks, jaw dropping. "That— that guy who was too in his own world and hated people guy? Wow, Jiminie's got charms to make someone like that like him enough to date him." Jimin rolls his eyes, a soft laugh escaping his lips.

"Yeah, then he went on to say he was straight. Anyways," he presses and Taehyung sends him an apologetic look, gesturing him to continue. "That happened. And, the two figured themselves out, but I was still lost. The topic soon left my head because I had exams, and I realized I didn't really have to think about it yet, I was happy with my friends and dancing then, so I let it be, deciding that if it was a big enough of a problem, it would rise again and I would deal with it later. And..." he pauses, taking a deep breath. "For years, it's never come up."

After a beat of silence, Taehyung added in at the end, guessing, "And, now... it has?"

Jimin nodded, "Yeah, and after thinking about it for a while, I'm sure."

He bites his bottom lip softly, eyes finally meeting Tae's again, finally deciding to get to the real point of everything.

"I like Yoongi hyung. A lot."

———
503rd day

"Hey, hyung! And, you too, Jin hyung! I'm staying over, tonight~" Taehyung suddenly says, barging into Seokjin and Hoseok's apartment. "Can I have some water, I walked the whole way. I didn't realize it was this far."

Seokjin snorts, resting his legs on top of Taehyung's. "You barge into someone else's house uninvited, then order us hyungs around like servants? Not happening. Get your own."

Just then, Hoseok exits the kitchen, handing Tae a glass of water. "Thanks," he says, turning to Seokjin with a smug look. "See, Hoseokie-hyung loves me."

"Hope-ah! Why'd you give him water? Don't spoil him!" Seokjin scolds, but doesn't sound that serious with it as he continues to text someone on his phone.

Hoseok pouts, pinching Taehyung's cheek. "But, he's cu——te."

Taehyung grins, drinking the water in one go before setting it on the nearby coffee table, then sees Hoseok look at him curiously.

"Why're you here though? What happened with Jimin and Yoongi?" At the question, Taehyung just grins mischivously, waving it off.

"Nothing, nothing... Just thought I should give them time to spend time together." Both Seokjin and Hoseok give a weird look at the statement, but shrug it off, Taehyung's always been like this, so they just let it be.

"So, whose room am I gonna sleep in today?"

Meanwhile, at Tulips Apartments, Jimin comes home to no Taehyung, texting the other. When he gets a response of a wink, he already knows what the other is up to, cheeks instantly heating up.

That idiot... what is he thinking? Then, he really thinks about it and smiles to himself. But... I guess it isn't really a bad idea. I've been meaning to tell him anyway.

And, just then, there's a sound of the front door unlocking, revealing Yoongi as the man enters, taking his shoes off and neatly putting it on the rack. He looks around before his eyes land on Jimin. "No Taehyung?"

Jimin shakes his head. "No. It's just you and me."

This catches Yoongi off-guard, heart flipping in his ribs, but he has his composure, just nonchalantly nodding as he heads to his room to drop his stuff off before heading back out to the living room.

He looks at Jimin — who's just flipping through channels on TV. "D'you wanna eat something?"

The dancer smiles, "Yeah. Let's make something together."

After eating the dinner they made together, they put the dishes in the dishwasher, letting it wash as they both headed to their rooms, muttering a goodnight before entering.

When Jimin enters his room, he sighs in disappointment. He didn't get what he wanted to get done today. He pouts to himself, thinking of what he could do next. He doesn't really want to go to sleep, he doesn't feel tired even a bit, too distracted by his heart, the slightly fast pace it got when he realized it's just him and Yoongi today.

So, after brushing his teeth and changing, he decides to head back out to the living room, sliding the screen door open and stepping out to the balcony, the cold air whispering on his skin as he looks up at the pretty sky.

The moon hangs high, gibbous and bright, it outshines some stars around it, but also is shining past the clouds that lumber around. Jimin leans his arms on the railing, propping his chin on his hand as he watches the sky, along with the city-lights, the sight bringing peace in his messy mind.

He doesn't even realize the time pass as he watches. His trance is broken by a sound of ambulance far off in the city, making him realize he's been out for a while. The moon hands lower, closer to the horizon.

"Jimin?" The sound startles him, jolting upright to look behind him. Yoongi. He looks like he hasn't been sleeping either, hair perfectly intact and eyes a little red -- probably from staring at a screen for too long. "Why're you out here?"

Jimin just looks at him for a few seconds, averting his gaze before he answers. "Just stargazing." He turns around to look at the sky again. When he hears nothing from Yoongi, he looks over his shoulder, a small smile on his lips. "You can join me if you want?"

Then, he turns back to look at the sky. Not hearing any steps closer, his heart drops a little in disappointment. But, after a long minute, there is shuffling behind him, soft steps sounding out on the balcony, Yoongi leaning on the railing just to the right of Jimin.

The younger gives him a side glance, grinning. Yoongi doesn't look at Jimin, but he's also smiling, just a little. After a few seconds, Jimin turns his head back forwards, looking at the view again. It's only after a few minutes, Jimin speaks.

"We're lucky, hyung."

"Hm?"

Pointing at the view, Jimin says his words interlaced with joy, "All the tall buildings are on the other side. Having this sort of view is amazing."

There's a sound of agreement from Yoongi, making Jimin give him a small glance, lips still curved up.

Slumping his shoulders, eyes dancing down at the city, Jimin speaks again.

"Hyung."

"Hm?"

"I wonder what it feels like to fly."

There's a snort. "There are planes."

Jimin gives him a nudge, laughing a little. "You know that's not what I meant."

Yoongi also lets out a small chuckle. "Yeah, I get you. Flying would be cool, I guess. Wonder what it feels like to have wings. Our arms would probably be replaced by wings, like bats," with the words Yoongi gestured with his arms, making Jimin laugh loudly, eyes disappearing, turning Yoongi's heart light, the bundle of muscle in his ribcage doing a flip at the scene.

"Yeah, but I wonder if it would be possible for us to have wings and arms. Like angels or something."

Letting out another snort, Yoongi says, "Well, we'll be dead by the time we can find out."

"Hm, true. But, I don't know if we'll ever need that ability to fly. We have airplanes."

Yoongi gave Jimin a funny look, laughing a little, "Don't steal my line, now."

There's a small giggle, "Alright, hyung."

Then, silence falls between them, again, the two watching as the moon touches the horizon.

After a moment of thought, Jimin rests his head on its side, looking at Yoongi, admiring his side-profile.

"Hyung."

Yoongi just looks at him from his eyes, raising his eyebrows, hiding all sorts of internal feelings from the stare. "Hm?"

"Yoongi-hyung," Jimin says, but doesn't say anything further.

"What is it?"

"Min Yoongi," he says again, adding no more words to it.

Yoongi gets a little ticked off, turning his head to give him a half-hearted look of annoyance, "What is it?"

Jimin just shakes his head, chuckling before he continued looking at Yoongi. "I just like your name, hyung. Min Yoongi. It suits you."

"Huh?" Yoongi asks in disbelief, laughing a little afterwards, flustered beyond belief as he looks back at the moon. "You're crazy, Park Jimin."

"That may be true," Jimin says, picking his head up to set it on his hand, elbow resting on the railing. He looks at Yoongi with a dreamy look in his eyes. "Crazy for you, hyung."

Yoongi freezes.

Then, he relaxes, realizing it's probably a joke. He doesn't say anything, just smiles a little at his own idiocy.

"Yoongi hyung," Jimin calls again, pouting. It didn't work. "Yoongi hyu——ng."

"Yeah?" Yoongi is still not looking at Jimin, eyes fixated on the moon that's slowly making its way down the horizon.

Jimin leans a little closer. A whispering distance.

"Min Yoongi. I like you."

Then, once more, Yoongi freezes, goosebumps rising on his arms. Did Jimin really say that? Or was he just hearing things?

"What was that?" He asks, acting like he didn't hear.

"Hm? What do you mean?" Jimin asks back, a confused look on his face. Yoongi internally glowers, of course he was imagining it. His mind would make up stuff when he was low on sleep, and this is no exception.

"I like you, hyung."

There it is again. Yoongi can hear it. It's Jimin's voice. But, what?

"Did you say anything, Jimin-ah?" Yoongi asks, turning his head to look at the other, a questioning look in his eyes.

Jimin looks clueless. "Hm? What're you saying, hyung? Are you okay?"

Yoongi sighs, looking back at the moon. Thought so. He pouts to himself, now looking down at the endless city-lights.

"Ah, can't you hear me, hyung? I like you, so much."

That's it. Yoongi's officially going crazy. He keeps hearing Jimin say things he's not actually saying. He bites his bottom lip down, a hopeless expression taking over his face, heard hammering as his cheeks turn light pink.

"I think... we should go to bed, Jimin. We're both really tired," Yoongi starts, about to turn around, but he's interrupted by muffled laughter.

Surprised, Yoongi looks at Jimin, who looks way too amused for what he just said, laughing into his hands, trying to keep it down so he doesn't disturb the neighbours.

"Hyung," he starts, laughing even more, stepping closer to the rapper. "You're so cute."

Yoongi is confused. What the hell?

Jimin finally stops laughing, realizing Yoongi is confused as fuck, but there are a few chuckles between his words as he speaks. "I was messing with you. You're so cute, ah— I can't take it. You're too cute, hyung."

The words bring a warm wash of fluster into Yoongi's heart. "What?" And, he finally connects the pieces together, realization slapping him in the face. "Aish, Jimin! That's not funny—!" He says, face turning pink in an instant, eyes avoiding Jimin's gaze. "Y-you... "

Jimin stops laughing for a second, wondering what Yoongi's going to say.

"Y-you can't joke about things like that. I'm gay, you know? I could fall for you." I already have, Yoongi thinks, sighing to himself. He's such a coward.

When Yoongi doesn't hear anything from Jimin, he slowly looks up to meet eyes. Jimin is smiling fondly at him.

After a few seconds, cold hands press against his warm cheeks, Jimin leaning closer. He whispers, "I wouldn't mind that at all."

Before Yoongi can process what he's said, something is covering his lips, Jimin's face up-close, eyes shut. It takes him a few seconds to realize they are lips, and Jimin's to be exact. There's a rush of buzz on his skin, eyes widening when it really hits him.

But, before he can react, it's over. There's a small but audible smack before Jimin pulls back, the distance between them not that wide, Jimin could easily lean two centimetres, and they'd be kissing again.

Yoongi's breath is caught in his throat at the way Jimin looks at him. "Min Yoongi," he whispers, sending shudders down Yoongi's spine. His eyes are staring right into Jimin's, attentive. "I like you."

Jimin then drops his hand from Yoongi's cheeks, arms going around his waist to hold him close, head resting on Yoongi's shoulder. "I like you so much, hyung."

Still not speaking, Yoongi is having a hard time processing everything. Jimin notices, his giggles muffled by Yoongi's shoulder.

"Yoongi hyung," he says against the shoulder. "Min Yoongi," he says again, voice still muffled.

As a reflex, Yoongi replies, "Hm?"

And to that, Jimin presses a soft kiss on Yoongi's neck, his hold tightening. "I know, but I want to ask you anyway. How do you feel, hyung?"

Jimin picks his head back up to look at Yoongi, smile warm and loving. Yoongi is tongue-tied. He really doesn't know how to process this--

"Aigoo, hyung-nim," Jimin says with mock disappointment, fingers softly holding his chin. "Please speak. I know I said I know, but," Jimin's expression turns worried and a little scared. "There is a tiny possibility of me being not right. So, please? Did I read things right?"

Yoongi's heart-rate is across the roof and he's sure Jimin can feel it. Regardless, Yoongi finally decides to get himself together. "I... I..." He starts, then with big worried eyes, he says, "I thought... you were straight?"

This makes Jimin smile, looking relieved. "I never said I was. Just because I didn't say it on the day we met doesn't mean I'm straight," he jokes, lightly poking Yoongi on the cheek.

It takes a few more seconds, and Jimin waits, waits with an amused smile until finally Yoongi mutters, "Oh my God." Arms wrap back around Jimin, pulling him closer than earlier. "You actually like me... I can't believe it. All this time, I was so convinced it was one-sided." Yoongi's buried his face into Jimin's soft hair, inhaling the comforting scent that is Jimin.

"Gosh, and you kissed me, too! When will I ever get over this? Am I dying? I think I need to go to the hospital." Knowing well Yoongi is just joking now, Jimin lets out a laugh as he lightly taps Yoongi's back.

Then, there's a sigh, one full of joy. "No, I don't need a hospital when I have you."

And, it's finally Jimin's turn to be flustered, heart suddenly flipping at the words. He whines, "Ah, hyung."

Yoongi pulls back finally, and he's smiling so wide that even after the moon has set, there's a source of light. Jimin melts, trailing his hands to his waist to get a hold of Yoongi's hands, pulling them in between them before he presses a kiss to each one.

"Let's go inside?" Jimin offers, eyes shimmering.

The words bring a flutter in Yoongi's chest as he nods, his voice soft as he speaks, "Yeah, let's go."

And, with that, the two make their way in, shutting the screen door properly, heading to the closest bedroom together. The two, already having changed into their pajamas, get under the covers. They talk with each other until they fall asleep, stealing a few kisses here and there as well, cuddling into each other's warmth as they finally fall into slumber for the night.

504th day

It's a few hours before noon when Taehyung gets back home, humming to himself as he opens the door, wondering if anything happened last night. Something must have happened, right? Jimin told him he knows what to do, so Taehyung trusted him, and all he hopes is that his best friend got his happy ending to his love story.

There is silence in the apartment, the small smile on his lips not disappearing as he walks into the hallway of rooms, checking Jimin's room first. Empty.

With raised eyebrows, Taehyung steps towards Yoongi's room, a little worried he might see what he shouldn't, but he shrugs. He'd eventually see it, anyway.

He slowly opens the door, and just as he's suspected, there is a big lump under the covers. Smile widening, Taehyung steps closer, to get a look.

The two have their heads peeking just out of the covers, cuddling in their sleep. Yoongi is the smaller spoon, curling into himself and back on Jimin, hands tightly holding Jimin's arms in their place on his waist.

Taehyung holds back a squeal, this is too cute! He quickly pulls out his phone to snap a few pictures of the sight.

After he's done, Taehyung considers waking them up, but then he decides against it, smiling at the scene one last time before he quietly leaves.

His mind then goes to the time him and Jimin had a talk about Jimin not feeling a sense of belonging, a sense of home. Taehyung's heart melts at the thought.

Jimin has finally found his home.
