date (ft jealousy)
"So this is an official date?" Yoongi asks, amused. They were at a restaurant near their workplace; not too cheap, not too expensive.
Jimin nods, grinning. "We haven't been on an official one. We just hung out at places. So, yes."
"Welcome to Shana and Cherry's, I'm Sook, your waitress for tonight. Would you two like anything to drink?" The waitress asks, and Yoongi most definitely notices the eyes that go towards Jimin.
"I want this!" Jimin says with a bright smile, showing here the drink with his finger – he probably couldn't pronounce it. Yoongi narrows his eyes at the woman who smiles brightly back, obviously charmed. "Hyung, you should try it, too! It's wine we haven't tried."
The waitress's eyes don't leave Jimin and Yoongi's grip on the menu tightens a little.
"Yeah," he forces out, trying to not sound irritated. "I'll try it."
Jimin looks back at the waitress with a smile. "Two of these!" He says.
"Okay~" she coos. "I'll be back with your drinks."
Yoongi only calms down when the girl leaves as Jimin says, "I can't wait to try it."
"What do you want to eat, Jiminie?" Yoongi asks, eyes scanning the menu.
"Hm, I don't know. You pick. They all look good."
"I'll make sure to pick the worst– I mean best one, then," Yoongi jokes, making Jimin let out a burst of giggles.
"Don't ruin this date," Jimin scolds half-heartedly.
"I would never."
From the corner of his eyes, Yoongi sees the waitress walking over to their table, holding their drinks.
He eyes her suspiciously as she puts the drinks on the table.
"Have you thought of what you would like to order?" She asks, her attention obviously only on Jimin.
A little annoyed, Yoongi speaks up. "I want the lamb."
The lady briefly glances at Yoongi before noting it down and turns to Jimin with a smile. "And you?"
"He'll have the lobster with the pasta and tomato sauce," Yoongi snaps, clearly unnerved by the waitress. Jimin looks at him with an amused grin.
"Lobster sounds delicious," he says, eyes intently watching Yoongi.
"Is that all?" The waitress asked.
"Yeah. That's all." Yoongi gives her a sarcastic smile, "Thanks."
When the waitress leaves, Jimin bursts into laughter. "I can't believe it! You–!" He exclaims, hand covering his mouth to muffle the laughter, "You're jealous!"
Cheeks flushed, Yoongi puts the menu away to the side. "She was being unprofessional," he just states, making Jimin laugh even harder.
"Ah, I love you so much," Jimin just says, picking up his glass of wine. "Cheers to our first date, Yoongi hyung."
A smile forming on the elder's lips, forgetting about the annoying waitress from earlier, he raises his glass too. "Cheers," he says before they clink their glass and take a sip before setting it down.
"I wonder what the lamb dish tastes like," Jimin says making Yoongi lean forward on the table as he smiles.
"Don't worry, we can share," he says, winking.
Jimin just smiles widely, cheeks a little pink. "Okay!"
A few seconds of silence passes and Yoongi speaks up, "So, Jimin. How was work today?" A question he asks daily.
Groaning, his head falls on the table gently. "I don't want to think about it. I want to sleep when we get home. Teaching a group of five was easy, but teaching the background dancers of twenty? Tiring as hell."
Yoongi frowns. "Why did you have to teach them? Couldn't the members of the group teach them?"
Jimin shakes his head, straightening back up, "They had schedules. They're getting popular," he says, a smile on his lips.
Not being able to help it, Yoongi smiles too. "You're proud of them, aren't you?"
"Yeah. They debuted recently, but they're getting nice attention," Jimin says happily. "Speaking of which, how's your work going, recently debuted and trending rapper-ssi?" he adds with a small smirk.
Snorting out a laugh, Yoongi shakes his head, "It's going well. My first release got more attention than expected, turns out. More international sales online, too. It's cool. I have an interview tomorrow."
Jimin's bright smile is up for a few seconds before it drops to a little sad one. "I hope we can still have these dinner dates in the far future."
"Are you kidding me? I wouldn't let those media bastards ruin us," Yoongi huffs, taking a sip of his wine. "I'm not lying about me being in a relationship, either. Our boss texted me the other day, and he said it's fine as long as I don't say yes. I'll say neither yes nor no."
This makes Jimin's face brighten up with the most affectionate expression. "I love you."
Yoongi's expression softens. "I love you, too."
Then, he sees the waitress emerging from the kitchen doors in the corner of his eyes and he scowls. "The unprofessional waitress is back."
Giggling, Jimin doesn't say anything, shaking his head slightly at Yoongi's antics.
"Here are your orders," she giddily says, placing the respective orders. Then she looks at Jimin again. "Anything else you'd like."
"Ah, no," Jimin answers politely. "Thank you."
Nodding, without even glancing at Yoongi, the waitress leaves. The glare Yoongi has on her back makes Jimin breathe out a string of chortles.
"You are so cute."
Yoongi rolls his eyes, "I can't believe it's you saying that to me. Also, we should've asked that waitress for extra plates so we could share this..."
Jimin looks at the food, licking his lips, probably from hunger, before he says, "We could just share across the table, right?"
Yoongi looks at Jimin for a moment, then shrugs, "I suppose."
While the two were enjoying their meal, they sparked up conversations like they always have before, the waitress coming by every so often to fill their wine and water glasses (and to ruin Yoongi's mood a little) before the two got lost in their own little world of paradise again.
When they finish up their food, Jimin opens up the dessert menu excitedly. "Jin hyung recommended the dessert here; cannoli?"
"Just get one, I don't think more food can fit in my stomach," Yoongi says, hand tracing his stomach.
"Okay, we can share this too, then," Jimin says.
When the waitress comes by to pick the empty plates, she asks if they want anything more (only looking at Jimin much to Yoongi's annoyance). "Yes, one cannoli, please," he requests. The woman nods and leaves again.
"Why are you getting jealous?" Jimin asks, a grin plastered on his lips. "You know I love you."
Yoongi just scrunches his nose cutely. "Yeah, but how would you feel if someone else suddenly was all up in my face?"
Then Jimin's smile drops, "Okay, you're right," he mumbles, cheeks a little pink.
"Here's your dessert. Anything more you want to order?"
"We're fine. Bring the bill, too," Yoongi says sharply, trying not to get too annoyed.
"Okay~"
"Hyung, I'm paying," Jimin states.
Yoongi raises his eyebrows. "What? No, you aren't."
Rolling his eyes, Jimin gently flicks the other's forehead. "I am. I asked you out. You can pay when you ask me out," he says, a glint in his eyes.
"Alright, alright. You're killing my pride as the older one, though," Yoongi says, pouting. "Aren't you going to eat your dessert?"
"Only if you'll let me feed you half of it," Jimin mischievously says and before Yoongi can protest, the dancer has picked up a piece and is already bringing it up to Yoongi's lips. "Say ah."
Yoongi just gives Jimin a dirty look but opens his lips nonetheless, the sweet food entering his mouth before he starts chewing. "Oh, this is actually really good," he says in surprise.
Pouting, Jimin whines, looking up at Yoongi with his head resting on his elbow. "Feed me, too."
Sighing in mock exasperation, Yoongi picks up a piece, slowly feeding Jimin, a soft smile on his lips. "You're like a puppy, I swear," Yoongi mutters.
"If that was the case, Min would like you more than me, but that's obviously not the case," Jimin cheekily remarks.
Yoongi gently pinches the other's cheek at the comment, unnerved at the fact. "You haven't seen how he treats me when you aren't home," he huffs.
"Here's the bill," the waitress drops by, placing the bill on Jimin's side before quickly leaving to attend another table. Jimin pulls out his wallet as he opens the booklet, expressing surprise before he laughs.
"What?"
"She gave me her number."
"What?" Yoongi frowns, reaching for the booklet after Jimin puts a card in. Grumbling, Yoongi pulls out the small piece of paper holding the waitress's number. "Why does she think you'll call her anyway?" He scoffs, obviously jealous, "You're all over me."
Jimin laughs even harder. "That's true. And I don't know why she even likes me. She's very blind to your beauty, Yoongi."
This makes Yoongi stammer, "S-shut up, don't pull that on me in public. I can't recover easily..." he mumbles, cheeks flushed.
Jimin hums, eating another piece of the dessert before he says, wiggling his eyebrows, "Maybe we could give her a show before we leave?"
Spluttering, Yoongi asks, "What the hell do you mean?"
Chuckling, Jimin says, a twinkle in his eyes, "You know," he winks.
Yoongi knows Jimin is just making a hint of something more heated but he actually just means something innocent. Averting his gaze, flustered, he replies, "I know..."
"So, you up for it?"
"If it means showing her you're my boyfriend, then who am I to say no?"
"I like possessive you; it's hot," Jimin says out of nowhere, making Yoongi flustered all over again.
"Stop! Stop doing that..." Yoongi weakly says, cheeks burning. "I can only take so much."
"Can I take this?" the waitress asks, face bright when she sees the phone number in the middle of the table. When Jimin says yes, she steps away.
"So, how do you wanna do this, hyung?"Jimin asks, voice low and mischievous.
Yoongi hums, cheeks still a little pink, "Well... I don't know. Just do whatever."
"Oh?" Jimin asks, like he's already got a plan, and Yoongi hopes he doesn't regret saying what he just did.
Jimin's eyes go to the side, seeing the waitress come back. He looks back at Yoongi, a sly smile present. "Lean forward, Yoongi," he whispers as if this was some secret plan.
Doing as he says, Yoongi feels soft and warm hands on both sides of his face before Jimin is softly kissing him. Throwing all thoughts of annoyance at the waitress out the window, Yoongi's eyes shut naturally, heart warming up instantly as he gets lost in the kiss.
He almost forgets where he really is but then he hears a clearing of a throat before they pull back.
Cheekily, Jimin smiles at the waitress, "Sorry. Thank you for the service tonight, Sook-ssi."
She just gives them both a smile (probably forced) and a bow before she sets the booklet on the table and just leaves.
Yoongi snorts, his cheeks a little pink still, "See? She's unprofessional."
Jimin laughs again, shaking his head as he takes the receipt and his card out. "Let's go, hyung. We need to stop by the department store to get some milk before we go home."
"What about the dessert?" Yoongi asks, eyeing the plate. Jimin suddenly remembers and picks up the remaining pieces, putting one in his mouth and another one in Yoongi's, the cannolis hanging off of their lips, but now only one more is left.
"I almost forgot about it because of our kiss..." Jimin remarks after he's done with both of the pieces, sounding flustered. Yoongi feels a smug smile creep on his face as they leave the restaurant.
"Since we parked the car in the middle of the lot, this makes it easier..." Jimin mumbles, grabbing Yoongi's hand to lead him to the nearby department store.
"Didn't you say you were tired?" Yoongi asks, worried.
"Yeah, but I can manage until we get home. We have a day off tomorrow, so we can sleep in," Jimin simply replies.
As they're walking in, Jimin parts their hands, remembering something. "Actually, wait... there's one more thing I have to get, but it's on the other end. You get the milk. Meet me at the check-out counter, okay?"
Nodding at Jimin's order, Yoongi just marches towards the dairy area and pulls out the brand of milk they always get before heading to the check-out counter.
Setting the milk on the counter, he looks towards the aisles, tapping his feet as he waits for Jimin.
"Wait, there are more things to add," he tells the cashier guy, eyes towards the direction of the aisle that Jimin entered through, hoping he'd emerge out soon.
"Wait..." he hears the cashier guy say, making Yoongi look at him. "Aren't you... Suga?"
Eyes widening a little, Yoongi is taken aback. "Yeah... I am..." he answers, offering a smile.
"No way! My friend is a big fan!" He says excitedly. "She made me listen to a few of your songs, too! And said you were handsome. And... I agree," he adds the last part with an inviting smile.
"Um..." Yoongi tries to think of something to say to that, but he's never faced fans in public like this before. But he tries to be as polite as possible. "Thank you for listening to my music," is all he can think of saying.
"Since you're a rapper and all," the guy adds, leaning forward just a bit, "Are there any dating bans? I don't think I've heard of one..." he smirks.
Yoongi gulps, not really knowing how to respond. The guy was obviously being suggestive and trying to hit on him, but he'd never been in this situation before Jimin so he has no idea what to say to turn him down. With Jimin it's comfortable and real and warm and nice, but with this random-ass stranger, he feels really uncomfortable.
Suddenly, he feels an arm slither around his waist from behind as another hand goes out to place a package of cat-food on the counter. A soft kiss is placed on Yoongi's cheek and Yoongi immediately recognizes the warmth as Jimin, tense body now relaxing.
Jimin glares at the cashier guy, "Aren't you supposed to be doing your job than flirting with customers?" He asks, voice low, in controlled anger.
The man steps back, eyes filled with surprise. His eyes travel back and forth between the two before he scans the item Jimin brought. "Sorry... I didn't think he already had someone..."
Jimin just scoffs and hands over his card, arm still around Yoongi's waist. Then, no matter the man's actions, a little annoyed, Jimin still says, "Thank you for the service," before he grabs the plastic bag and leaves with Yoongi still in his hold.
"Holy shit, I never thought angry Jimin would be so hot."
The words make Jimin gently smack the elder on his shoulder, finally letting go of his waist and holding his hand. His expression softens. "I understand how you felt, now."
Laughing, Yoongi leans towards Jimin, bringing his lover in a side hug. "We're acting like children, though," he says, laughing. "There's literally no reason we should be jealous, but we can't help it, I guess..."
Jimin pouts, "What did he even say, though?"
"You didn't hear?" Yoongi looks surprised to see Jimin shaking his head. "Then why did you barge in, glaring at the guy? He was a fan, too... I was trying to be polite... Guess he took it the wrong way..."
"He like he wanted to eat you alive. I couldn't help but stomp my way in," Jimin says, his voice sounding irritated.
"It's okay. My Jiminie was there to protect me," Yoongi says, nudging his boyfriend playfully.
Jimin pouts again, eyes not meeting Yoongi's in embarrassment.
"Aww, are you embarrassed?" he asks, before laughing at the endearing actions. Pulling Jimin close as they walk to his car, he presses a kiss on his head before he says, "Don't be. I honestly had no clue what to do in that situation. You really saved me there," Yoongi comments, sounding a little sheepish.
Jimin doesn't say anything making Yoongi sigh and nudge him again.
"Aren't you gonna show off, my knight in shining armor?" He asks, not really believing he's saying the words. But he doesn't really care if it means cheering Jimin up.
His heart warms wholly as they actually work, making the younger's pout disappear and turn into a wide smile and a fit of giggles.
It's the perfect way the day can end, happily laughing on their way home before they crash on the bed after cleaning up (and feeding their cat), instantly falling asleep on each other's hold.
