Coronation

The hot red-light flash results in a large explosion of crimson aura that removes a chunk of Nemea, saving the others from the incineration. The aftershock of the explosion stretches towards Athens.

The dust settles.......

Neither Ares nor Hephaestus are there. Only the expanding river due to the loss of land.

Artemis and the others are speechless. The goddess of harmony falls to her knees in disbelief. Something bubbles and comes out of her mouth. A frustrated wail from losing more of her family. Eros wraps his arms around her to keep her still.

Artemis reforms the land with her hands on the ground. Her tears hit the ground in deep sorrow from losing another close family member. Part of her is still furious at the god of fire, yet regret fills her heart for not knowing him well.

Heracles embraces her and she holds onto him.

Hemera has regained her strength and takes over for Apollo so he can be with his sister. Apollo flies down on a musical note to embrace his sister.

"How much pain must we go through?", her broken voice utters.

Takashi doesn't want to believe his eyes. The god of war who had helped him through so much is gone. Deep down, he wishes Hephaestus was still alive so he can kill him.

Perseus helps him over to the others while getting his blades. Hermes stands close to where Ares stood. His body trembles out of anger, sorrow, and regret. Hearing Harmonia's wailing only adds to his misery. He swiftly flies over to give the last of the love dust to Eros.

"I will tell the armies to head back home after announcing what happened. I'm.....so sorry for you both."

Eros waves the others over so they can leave. Apollo reluctantly flies back to the chariot to continue his new job. Hemera wipes the crawling tears from his cheeks as he grips the reins.

"Where shall we go?', Eros asks the group.

"M-My temple. Please", Artemis speaks up.

He sprinkles the dust to Ephesus and they all walk through, leaving Hermes behind. The messenger god goes to the city...... only to drop his staff in sheer horror. From his peripheral vision, a dark butterfly is fluttering about.

"Where were you, god of death?", he seethes through clenched teeth.

"I was preoccupied, Hermes."

Hermes turns to curse him, but the god of death has a troubled expression on his face.

"I don't know how to say it so I will show you."

His black aura displays what kept him occupied.

Meanwhile....

The sea army travels to where Poseidon is being taken to. Hera's temple in Samos. They ready their spears and hooks for a battle between them and her servants. They throw hooks onto the cliffside and start climbing up. An archer stares them down and she waves her arm for support. Despite the treaty, the animosity has never changed. A hydro arrow sends the warrior down into the murky depths.

The lobster warrior couldn't gloat as a returning plant arrow joins her body....

Poseidon wakes up and rips through the petals. Hera's statue makes him question why he is here.

"Hera?", he grunts out from the lingering damage.

Multiple pairs of footsteps head towards his direction. Hera's warrior guard are armed to the teeth. Sounds of battle reach his ears. He whistles and his army dives back into the waters to stop the fighting. He has to know what Hera is planning.

"I'm not here to fight you. Where's my sister?"

"Then why is your army here? They attacked us first!"

"One last time. Where's Hera?"

"Put your weapons down!", Hera commands with Argus on her shoulders. "Brother, I don't want a war with you. The treaty might be broken, but let's talk it out."

His white eyes revert back to an ocean blue. He too doesn't want to fight her, not in this condition anyway.

"I will send my army back to Atlantis."

"Not needed. They can stay since this news will affect them. Come with me."

The sea god calmly follows her to her chambers as the guards stay behind. They grip their plant swords with fear entering their bodies. Selene's heart rate spikes from seeing Poseidon in her master's chambers.

"Beautiful sister, may I have some water?"

"Help yourself."

He levitates some water from a pitcher with a wave of his hand. He gets suspicious before dropping it on his skin.

"You really thought I would poison you? Selene, drink some."

Selene shakily scoops some water with a ladle. She takes a sip of it with Poseidon staring at her. No blemishes or anything wrong with her. The whole time, Selene's skin is crawling from the perverted look on his face. She gets behind her goddess for protection.

Poseidon applies the water to his skin. His burn marks begin to heal over. An exhale leaves his lips. "Why did you save me, Hera?"

"Because I want to help you win."

He tilts his head. "But that will mean killing your sons."

"They have made too many mistakes over their lifetimes. Your handle of them would be a mercy. I had to make them think that I was on their side."

"What side?"

"They're working with Takashi Watanabe to overthrow Zeus."

"What?!"

"Apparently, he's our little brother as well."

The sea god couldn't believe his ears. Hera has him sink into a chair to rest.

"Turns out Zeus lied to us all."

"But why?"

"Because Zeus desires his power over the aspects of time. I'm not sure why that is, but I will find out why."

"Wait. What did they promise you?", he asks with suspicion.

"To be the official ruler of Mt Olympus."

He scoffs, knowing she got a good deal out of it. "What do you want to do now?"

"I will help you kill Ares and Athena. From there, you can rule the land and seas of Gaia...Under my leadership, of course."

Hera waves Selene to get out of the room. Poseidon stops her with a wall of water.

"You need to make it worthwhile for me. Let me have her."

She feels Poseidon's hand getting close to her waist.

Smack!

She turns to see that Hera had slapped his hand away. Before he can react in anger, Hera locks lips with him. The sea god grips her arms to keep her in place.

She twirls his beard. "I will give you all of me in her place, my new husband."

Poseidon waves his hands down and the water drops. Selene doesn't hesitate to leave right away. Hera has her peacock go with her while disrobing herself. Poseidon almost takes off what's left of his breastplate, but he coughs violently. Hera wipes her lips as the real poison takes effect.

Poseidon tries to self-heal, but he's unable to. He can't even summon the strength to use his powers. Hera then transforms into Selene, but with a disheveled tunic with bruises on her arms. Tears run down her face.

"Bellero!", her screaming voice matches Selene perfectly.

Bellerophon runs in the direction of her voice and barges through the doors. His jaw drops upon seeing his father and Selene in the same room. The sight of his traumatized "best friend" has him instantly transform into his beastly form.

Poseidon recognizes the aura as one of his many offspring. He goes to use "Selene" as a hostage to defend himself, but the demigod grabs his arm. One simple throw launches the sea god through a column. "Selene" is crying from the pain the sea god put her through.

His animalistic urges kick in. Poseidon goes to get up, but he picks him up by the throat to slam him down. The temple shakes.

Slice!

Bellerophon claws out his jugular. Some of his golden blood ends up on his torso. He doesn't stop until his father's face is completely clawed off. The sea god's body turns to water signifying his death.

The sea beast humanoid roars after his conquest. He shrinks down to normal to check on Selene but sees Hera in her place. He thought she was right here. Hera wipes the blood from him.

"I'm sorry for tricking you, Bellerophon. Selene is safe, but he did try to hurt her."

His pupils shake from the reality settling in. "S-She's okay?"

"She's in the room two doors down."

He runs over to her to make sure. Bellero opens the door and sees Selene along with a peacock that's guarding her. The demigod sees no bruises and gently touches her face. Selene holds onto him. He feels her body trembling.

"I'm glad you're here."

"You don't have to worry about him, Selene. He will never hurt you nor anyone else again."

Her eyes widen while looking at him. "Y-You killed him?"

"I don't feel bad for what I did. He was a monster."

They embrace each other in silence until.....

"What happened? Wasn't Hera with you?"

"She was, but...

He questions why Hera tricked him into killing his father. Even though he felt nothing good about Poseidon, why did she put him through the mental trauma of seeing his friend being harmed? What is she-

"Is everything alright?", Hera interrupts his thoughts.

Selene clears her throat as Argus goes back to his master.

"Yes, my goddess. Are you alright?"

"I am. I lied to Poseidon about tricking Hermes. I haven't switched sides", she explains.

Bellerophon stops himself from questioning Hera's intentions to protect Selene.

"Are you alright, Bellerophon?"

"I'm......glad he can't hurt anyone else. But what about his army?"

"I will take care of that. Will you both come with me?"

They cautiously follow her. The rest of Hera's guards and servants follow her to the cliffside. She motions them to put their weapons down. She takes off her sandals and feels the earth beneath her feet. She looks down at the ocean warriors that are standing by for their master's orders. Although each side killed an individual, they didn't want to break the treaty without their master's permission.

Hera floats down onto a rock.

"Poseidon's army! Your master, Poseidon, tried to take the life of my servant so I killed him!", she projects her voice for all to hear.

The seafolk and her servants are astounded. The soldiers go to protest, but their leaders stop them after feeling something familiar.

They inspect the goddess from their places and trembled. Poseidon's aura is now within her.

Before, fighting her was already a death wish. This new Hera could mean Atlantis' annihilation. They quickly bow down to her and hope she won't kill them all.

"H-Hera, we will follow your lead. What is your request?", the pufferfish captain speaks up.

She commands them to spread the news to those in Atlantis. A dolphin captain asks her an important question.

"Do we carry out the last order Poseidon gave us?"

The soldier explains the task for punishing Aethipia through the sacrifice of Andromeda. However, Cetus was killed at Nemea.

Hera uses the water to communicate secretly.

"Send a message that the sacrifice is called off. Kill Andromeda in her sleep by tomorrow night. Complete obedience is expected afterwards. You only get one chance",
she orders the pufferfish to complete the assignment.

"We are at your beck and call, Queen of Atlantis!"

They raise their spears as they chant her name. Hera's servants hide their unease from this new alliance. Hera smiles as things are coming to plan.

Selene latches onto her best friend. Her gut instinct is telling her not to trust her master. Bellero turns her face to his.

"I won't let anyone hurt you", he whispers.

Because of his connection with water, he overheard the secret message. There's a strong urge to prevent his father's wish from coming true.

The sea warriors leave their sight and Hera returns to her group. She tells them to prepare the funeral ceremony for their fallen colleague. She retrieves her body from the depths for the eventual funeral pyre.
