You've been best friends with Jeongin since forever, but lately he seems distant. You on the other hand have no idea why he seems that way at all. He has been studying like crazy because the two of you are in grade 11, but that didn't really seem like the problem to you. Also, he was talking with a lot of girls lately which bothered you quite a bit. I mean he's too shy to talk to any girls at all, but lately he's been avoiding you. Maybe he has been avoiding you just so he could talk to other girls. Without any suspicions you continue to continue your day like any other day.

"Another day of school. I'm literally gonna die someday in this place.", you say sarcastically.

"Don't say thatttttt Y/N. That's not a good thing to say you know", said Chan.

"Ugh. Why are you even trying to act cute? You never act this way.", you say disgusted.

"I know right??? It was disgusting. I tried it out once, but it's definitely not my thing. I will never do that again.", said Chan.

"I wonder what Jeongin's doing...", you wondered.

"Him again? Y/N he doesn't even talk to you anymore. Why do you care so much?", Chan said as if he was annoyed.

"Well, he IS my bestfriend you know.", you said.

"Well, he doesn't talk to you anymore you know.", Chan replied.

"Okay that does it. I'm leaving now because you're acting stupid. You're not my only bestfriend you know.", you said starting to leave.

"Whatever. Bye then.", Chan says as he shrugs.

You started looking for Jeongin because you needed to talk with him.

"Where in the world is he??", you wonder. After a while you see him and run up to him.

"Hey Jeongin!", you say.

"Oh hey Y/N...", replies Jeongin.

"Can I talk to you?", you ask him.

"Sure....", he says. You drag him to a bench where there's no one around, and starts talking to him.

"Jeongin.. I wanted to ask you something.", you say.

"What is it?", Jeongin asks avoiding eye contact.

"Why have you been avoiding me?", you question him.

"Um... About that... I'm sorry.", he replies as he looks down.

"What are you sorry about?", you ask him.

Jeongin took a deep breath and said, "I can't tell you right now Y/N. I'm really sorry. I have to go..... Bye.....". You were so confused by his response, and why he wouldn't tell you, considering you two have been best friends for a while, and he's always such a cute bubbly person.

The next day you were talking with Chan about what happened. "So, what happened? Did you get to talk to him?", Chan asked.

"I did but..... He kind of just left and didn't say why he has been avoiding me at all..", you said sadly.

"Hey Y/N... Instead of worrying about Jeongin... Will you go out with me?", Chan asked rather suddenly.

"W-why are you telling me t-this now?", you stuttered.

"I thought I should.. Before he... Um...", Chan stopped in the middle of the sentence.

"Who do you mean by he? And he does what?", you ask.

"I can't tell you Y/N. Instead, will you answer my question?", Chan said seriously.

"I- I can't... I'm sorry.", you say.

"Why is that Y/N? Do you hate me? Or you have feelings for someone else.", he said sadly.

"I don't know why, Chan... It's not that I hate you... I'm not sure of my own feelings... Somethings stopping me from saying yes to you and I don't know what that reason is.", you reply honestly.

"It's fine. I'm gonna go. I don't want to make this situation worse. I'll see you tomorrow at school.", Chan said while walking away from you.

You never thought that Chan had a liking to you. Now that you think about it, he did always got jealous when you talked about Jeongin and hung out with him. I mean Jeongin is your best friend... Then you realize that maybe Jeongin was the reason why you didn't want to date Chan... It was because you had feelings for Jeongin. That was why you have been bothered by the fact that he talked with other girls beside you at school, and was avoiding you. At this point you had to search for Jeongin and tell him about you feelings. Not only that, you wanted to confront him about why he has been avoiding you and genuinely talk with him again. After school ended you waited at the front gate of the school. It was where the two of you would always walk home together... At least you used to.

Ten minutes passed since you've waited... Then 20... Then 30... You were going to give up and leave, but then you saw Jeongin looking at you right in front of the entrance door.

You yell, "Jeongin! We have to talk! I know we tried to talk yesterday, but you just left! You know, it's really not fair for me at all!". After what you said Jeongin looked down and started to walk to you, but when you thought he was actually ready to talk he walked right pass by you. You started tearing up, thinking why he would even try to avoid you, and now you needed to know. Before he was any farther away you ran to him and grabbed his hand while crying.

"You know what? I need to know, Jeongin. It's not fair and you know it. Especially since I- I.... Like you! You know how painful it is to not even know the reason why your best friend just ditched you? Because obviously you don't.", you say while crying. The moment you said that Jeongin was blushing and he didn't know what to say.

"Do you hear me Jeongin? I-I like you, so I deserve to know why you are trying to ditch me all the time you idiot!"

"I.. I.... I'm so sorry Y/N... I didn't think that you'd ever see me as a man.", Jeongin said all flushed.

"What do you mean?", you say as you wipe your tears.

"You always called me cute and treated me as if I was your little brother and not as a man at all. I have feelings for you too. It's just that I thought you wouldn't want to talk to me anymore since Chan's always with you and flirting with you all the time. Of course, I didn't really expect you to notice that Chan liked you. Considering that you're so dense.", Jeongin replied honestly.

"Actually... He did ask me out today... But because of that I realized that I liked you all along! I'm just so stupid for not realizing it any sooner... I'm sorry Jeongin. I didn't think that y-you l-liked me t-too...", you say as you blush.

"Like I said. You're too dense Y/N. So now do you understand why I've been avoiding you? I sort of thought that you liked Chan too, so I stopped talking with you guys to give you two some space. I was really sad because I really liked you. Honestly, I even tried talking to other girls to forget about you, but I guess that's just not possible.", Jeongin said.

"You know what? I'm kind of glad Chan asked me out.", you say happily.

"So you did have feelings for him??", Jeongin asked depressed.

"No, stupid. It's because that made me realize my own feelings for you and now we're even holding hands.", you say as you hold his hand tighter.

"O-oh r-right. U-um s-so... Will you be my girlfriend Y/N?", he asks shyly with his face completely red.

As you chuckle you say, "Of course Jeongin. It's really cute when you stutter like that."

"Please stop calling me cute. I am taller than you and have you ever considered the fact that I'm a teenage boy? I'm a male too you know.", Jeongin said.

"I'm going to pretend I didn't understand what you just said", you say blushing.

Overall, this was a complete roller-coaster ride for you. The two of you had mutual feelings for each other without even realizing it. It was awkward for you and Jeongin to talk to Chan again because of what happened, but in the end Chan didn't care anymore. Jeongin became your boyfriend, and you were filled with joy.

"I think I forgot to do something Y/N", Jeongin said seriously.

"What is it?", you replied worriedly.

"This.", Jeongin leaned in and kissed you like you were the most fragile thing he has ever seen then smirked.

"I told you I'm a man", Jeongin said slyly.
