yeah, everything sucked.

you bled through your pants at work and had to go home to change. you dropped your lunch right before you got to your desk. you dropped your phone and cracked the corner of it. the heel of your high heel broke. and to top it all off, your boyfriend was on a business trip and wouldn't be back for a few more days.

you needed his comfort, especially today.

you angrily kicked off your shoes and threw your purse on the couch when you got home, immediately bawling. you were overwhelmed with emotion and you didn't think you could handle any more surprises.

"what's wrong, baby?"

you looked at the staircase where sangyeon stood and cried even harder. "you - you weren't supposed to be back," your sob caught in your throat. "until monday."

he came down the rest of the stairs and wrapped you in a tight hug. "they cancelled the meeting so i got the earliest flight i could to come back home to you. i'm glad i did, too. what's going on?"

you told your boyfriend about your horrendous day and how overwhelmed with emotion you were. he listened attentively, responding to every bad thing that happened to you throughout the day.

when you finished telling him, you sobbed some more as he placed a gentle kiss to your forehead. "let's run you a warm bubble bath and i'll bring you a snack before dinner."

you let sangyeon lead you upstairs, where he promptly ran you a hot bath then gave you some privacy to get in the bath. while you began soaking he was making your favorite comfort snack - cheese and crackers with a glass of wine.

when he came back, he put the bath tray in front of you and put your snacks down, then he sat down next to the bathtub on the cold, tile floor.

"baby, you don't have to sit on the floor with me." you whispered.

"do you want me in here with you?" he promptly asked.

to which you nodded because all you needed was sangyeon and a good journal entry right now. "please."

"then my butt is staying parked right here," and he smiled when you cracked a smile. "did anything good happen today? a silver lining?"

"i got promoted."

"baby, that's big news!" he beamed. "that's something to really celebrate."

you had a hard time celebrating the good when things felt so bad, but sangyeon did a good job of reminding you that good things exist during the bad, too.

"we should get a nice dinner tonight," sangyeon suggested. "candlelit."

he knew those dinners were your favorite and you cracked another smile. "yeah, that sounds good."

he smiled and leaned in, kissing you gently before pulling away and standing up. "my pretty girl."

"where are you going?" you asked.

"to pick out our outfits," he replied. "i'll make sure we match, don't worry."

you smiled and per your request, he left the bathroom door open so you could continue talking to him as he rummaged through the closet.

when you were finally done soaking and eating, you got out of the bath and wrapped up in a towel, taking care of some things before you walked out of the bathroom and into the bedroom.

sangyeon had picked out a nice all black suit for himself with a wine red tie, and for you, he picked your favorite wine red dress. you wondered if he planned on having you wear that dress all along because it was your favorite. he was attentive and observant like that.

the two of you got ready with gentle music playing in the background, and sangyeon would occasionally press a kiss to your lips as he walked by you.

after finishing your hair, you were both ready to go and you felt immensely better, all thanks to your supportive boyfriend who cared deeply for you.

"babe," you wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed his jaw. "thank you for always making me feel better."

"of course, honey, that's what i'm here for," he hugged you a little tighter. "now, let's go celebrate my beautiful girl."
