"Sophie, what's taking you so long?" Tam called through the bathroom door.

"Just a second!" Sophie called back. They were getting ready to go to a party, and Sophie was still getting ready. She had told Tam that she'd be ready by the time he came over, but he had been waiting for five minutes now, and he was getting impatient.

"I'm coming in!" he announced, swinging the door open. His gaze softened as it fell upon Sophie.

Her dress was orange at the top and transitioned to a fiery red by the bottom, tendrils of red color curling up like fire. Her hair fell in loose curls around her face. "I can't get my necklace," she explained, her fingers still fumbling with the clasp.

"Here," he said, pushing her hair aside.

"This dress would be better suited for Marella," Sophie thought aloud as Tam worked, running her hands down the bodice.

"It looks good on you, too," Tam remarked.

After a pause Sophie said, "Here, if you're not gonna do it," and reached her hands up.

"I've got it," Tam insisted, finally closing the clasp. He put her hair back in place, putting his face next to hers in the mirror.

He kissed her cheek, before leaving her bathroom. "Are you finally ready now?"

"Hey, I didn't take that long!"

"The party might be over by now," Tam teased.

Sophie rolled her eyes, slipping on her shoes before following him out the door of her room.
