Violet is asleep in her room when a shadow passes the doors, she quickly shoots up in her bed, alarmed. Soon after, an Equalist chi blocker breaks through the window, while two more break in through the door. Violet jumps out of her bed as they come at her, but Korra runs in and blasts two shots of fire to keep them at bay. 

The chi blockers avoid her attacks, while one leaps up in the air while spinning like a top in an attempt to kick Korra's head, but Korra blocks the hit with her arm, and fires several fists of fire. While Korra is distracted from keeping two of the chi blockers away, the other somersaults and uses chi blocking on Violet's back, before kicking her to the ground on her knees while she lets out a shout of pain.

"Violet!" Korra shouts turning to her

The two chi blockers kick Korra down and grab her. Violet looks up to see Amon walking toward Korra.

"Korra!" Violet shouts

"After I take your bending away, you will be nothing" he reaches hand toward Korra's face as Violet watches with fear

"No!" Violet tries to get up

Amon looks at her and laughs "what a pathetic Switch, you can't even protect your avatar, weakling!"

"Korra!" Violet shoots up in bed, beads of sweat running down her face and gasping for air, it was all a nightmare.

Korra shot up from the ground "what's wrong?! what happened?"

"n-nothing" Violet looks down and grips the sheets "I just had a bad dream"

Korra was outside practicing Air Bending stances while Violet sat inside her room playing with Echo. Echo notices a candle and runs over to it.

"What?" Violet questions

Echo stands on it's back legs, he pushes one of his front paws towards the candle before standing on all four of his legs again.

"Fire bend?" she asks and Echo nods "oh Echo, you know I can't"

Echo squeaks in response. Violet stands up and walks over to the candle, she tries to light a fire in her hand but it doesn't happen.

Violet sighs "see.. I can't"

Echo stares at her looking annoyed

"...only when I black out" she tells him

Their's a knock on her door

"come in" she responds

Tenzin walks in "I might have something on your black outs"

"really?" Violet asks hopefully

"I believe when you black out, a spirit of one of your past lives takes over. You mentioned that you cannot firebend, but the white lotus says that is not true because you've firebended during your tests" Tenzin explains "but outside of the black outs, you have never fire bended before. Your fear of firebending has corrupted your own spirit and in return whenever you need to firebend or fight, a past life takes over to protect you and the honor of the Avatar Switch"

"But which past life is doing it?" Violet questions

"well I believe it is Fire Lady Kira" Tenzin answers "her spirit is most strongest right now since she was the Switch before you. You see the Avatar Switch doesn't have the same cycle as the Avatar does, the power of the switch is passed on by the previous switch's spirit. Spirits have a insight to people's lives therefore when you die as well your spirit will pick the next Switch that you think is the most fit"

"...that sounds a lot more complicated" Violet mumbles

"It is, that's why the Switch plays a big role in the world" Tenzin smiles "You see while the Avatar maintains the balance and is the bridge between the spirit world and the physical world, the Switch oversees everything, the Switch even has the power to take away the Avatar's power"

"W-what?!" Violet shouts

"This is why the Switch oversees the Avatar, if the Avatar dies the Switch takes over but if the Switch believes the Avatar is becoming corrupted the Switch has the power to take over the Avatar position by force, but only if the Switch's spirit isn't corrupted itself, that way the Switch can't take over by greed" Tenzin explains

Violet looks down "wow.."

At sunset on Air Temple Island, Tenzin's family, Korra, and Violet are about to eat dinner. Before eating, they bow their heads as Tenzin starts a prayer.

"We are grateful for this delicious food, for happiness, for compassion, and..."

"I'm not interrupting, am I?"

They look over to see Tarrlok standing at the door.

"This is my home, Tarrlok. We're about to eat dinner" Tenzin turns and stands up to face Tarrlok

"Good, because I am absolutely famished" Tarrlok smiles, Tenzin narrows his eyes while glaring at him "Airbenders never turn away a hungry guest, am I right?"

Tenzin sighs "I suppose" he takes a seat and glances at his wife, Pema, who scowls at him. He raises his hands, palms facing forward while shrugging, giving her a helpless look.

Tarrlok walks over to Korra and Violet "Ah, you must be the famous Avatar Korra and Switch Violet. It is truly an honor" he bows "I am Councilman Tarrlok, representative from the Northern Water Tribe"

The sisters stand up and bow, with Tarrlok bowing as well in acknowledgment "Nice to meet you" They all then kneel in a sitting position

"So, I've been reading all about your adventures in the papers. Infiltrating Amon's rally, now that took some real initiative" Tarrlok praises

Violet coughs, it wasn't really an infiltration it was more of rescue cause she got captured and Korra came to save her.

"Oh, thanks" Korra responds "I think you're the first authority figure in the city who's happy we're here"

"Republic City is much better off now that you've arrived" Tarrlok tells her

"Enough with the flattery, Tarrlok" Tenzin interrupts "What do you want from them?"

Tarrlok holds up his hand "Patience, Tenzin. I'm getting to that" he directs his attention back to the girls while Tenzin glares at him "As you may have heard, I am assembling a task force that will strike at the heart of the revolution and I want you two to join me"

"Really?" Korra asks surprised

Tenzin leans forward "What?!"

"I need someone who will help me attack Amon directly, someone who is fearless in the face of danger. And that someone is you two" Tarrlok explains

Violet takes a bite of her food 'where is he getting us from, I haven't even done anything reckless'

"Join your task force? We can't" Korra rejects

As surprise look lights up Tenzin and Tarrlok's faces, Korra takes a sip of her drink.

"I must admit, I'm rather surprised. I thought at least you'd jump at the chance to help me lead the charge against Amon" Tarrlok says

Korra glances at Violet "Me and my sister came to Republic City to finish our Avatar training with Tenzin. Right now, we just need to focus on that"

"Which is why this opportunity is perfect. You would get on the job experience while performing your Avatar and Switch duty for the city" Tarrlok argues

"Korra gave you her answer" Tenzin tells him annoyed

"Switch Kira, you understand right?" Tarrlok asks hopefully

"I.. understand the need for action against Amon" Violet replies "but me and Korra will be of no help until we ourselves are ready, we need to focus on finishing our training"

 "See, now it's time for you to go Tarrlok" Tenzin says

"Very well" Tarrlok stands up to leave "But" he chuckles slightly "I'm not giving up on you just yet. You'll be hearing from me soon" he bows "It has been a pleasure, Avatar Korra and Switch Kira" with that he leaves the room

Violet puts her chopsticks down "I need to feed Echo, thank you for the meal" she stands up and bows to them before exiting the room

"I'm starting to worry about Violet, she hasn't been herself lately" Penma says worriedly

"Ever since her run in with Amon she's been having nightmares" Korra tells her sadly "she already feels like she's a failure as my Switch and now"

Violet sits in her room feeding Echo "and now I just feels like I'm a coward.." She sighs and looks at her baby dragon "oh Echo.. what am I going to do"
