" Oh my gosh Meera, there was something i wanted to ask you earlier sef. " Sophie said, tapping me slowly

Annette, Sophie and I were walking back to class after morning assembly.the hallway was a bit busy though, because no teacher was yet to start barking orders.well, except for Mr Adeola.

" about what?" I asked.she titled her head to one side

" umm..who was the guy that dropped you off earlier this morning ?"

I sighed " is that the question? "

" talk joor "

" my boyfriend " I said biting my lips to stop myself from smiling. Sophie wore a suprised look on her face while Annette looked at me wide-eyed

" liar liar.pants on fire " she sang.totally avoiding eye contact with me.

" shey she's lying ?" Sophie asked Annette who pouted her lower lips in reply.

" what do you mean by shey I'm lying? Abi someone cannot get boyfriend again " I said feigning a frown

" I didn't mean it that way ooh? But I just never thought you could give guys a chance in your life..." Sophie was saying and I sneer

" you don't even have think sha " I replied and she slapped my hands playfully

" ..maybe " she said and added "except that your faraway crush..mr.Adams " she said winking at me.just hearing his name made me feel little sparks of excitement

" geez you're mad..and btw Adam doesn't even have anything to do with this conversation " I said grinning like I won a lottery ticket

A loud laugh had brought me back to my reality.Annette was peering at me with an amused expression making me suddenly crease my eyebrows

" what? " I asked and she laughed

" you could have just seen your face when sophie mentioned your crush " she said laughing harder and I roll my eyes at her.trying to wave off my embarrassment

" but seriously who's that guy? Like he's so fineeee" sophie squealed and I chuckled

" he's her brother jare..better stop what you're fantasizing " annette replied a jaw-dropped sophie

" your brother? "She asked referring to me and I shrugged nonchalantly

" what's wrong?" Annette asked.Sophie immediately fish out her phone from her uniform skirts as she swiped the screen open

" like what's his name ? "

" kelechi" I replied still non chanlant

" as in his IG name ? "She asked. I looked at Annette in a befuddled way and the later shrugged

" K_Johnson " I said and that minute sophie's mouth came out wide open again

" what is it ?" Annette asked peering into her phone

" gosh...he's even the guy everyone talks about..he's the one channeling the social_ fire page on IG " she said

I shrugged at their expression. Seemed like I hardly talked about my siblings to them.and that reminds me that I never told anyone that my brother had an IG page and was yet to open a youtube channel

" aww.you're so lucky..and he's so fine.you never even told us you have a brother " Sophie said and I shrugged

" now you know anyways can we talk about something else " I said as we walked into the class.

" good morning students" mrs Sonia, our new form teacher greeted as she walked in.holding a long book and pen

" good morning ma " the class chorused

" welcome back students.I'll begin with the roll call so students if you hear your name.say present" she said .

She was just starting to call names when two figures strutted into the class.the both guys were tall and handsome. One of the guys were light skinned. He had a nice haircut and had this brown lovely eyes that I ever refused to acknowledge that they were lovely.his nose was staright and acquilin and his perfectly formed pink lips was twitched into a small smirk as soon as his wandering gaze fell on me.he finally wore a satisfied smile when he saw that the sit beside me was empty

I moved my eyes away from him slowly. There were many girls who wanted to sit beside them.I wonder what the smirk was for and why was he even having that look on his face?

I hope it wasn't what I was thinking.I decided to focus my attention on the other handsome guy beside him.the both guys just had this gait that was so charming. They walked like the floors were made for them. taking a glance at the other guy who held up his face was as though he already knew his looks could fetch a billion dollar. I sighed

Some girls had already started shuffling themselves to make way for them, hoping one may finally get to sit beside them.

I chuckled to myself. I may have wished for one of the guys to sit beside me but certainly not the one who wore a smirk on his face..nah..that particular one was always up to no good and he only succeeds in bringing out the worst in me.

His name..Dozie fudging Matthews.The same guy who I gave the middle finger today at assembly cause. He deserved it

But then the other guy, something told me not to think too much.he wasn't just my league and besides I knew sitting beside him was something I prayed for since ss1 but that prayer never worked.he had Clara.the head girl and the both of them always had been sit mates since ss1.

I definitely knew that today wasn't going to be any different. I stole a quick glance at Clara's seat and she had an empty space beside her.i huffed. I wasn't expecting something different anyway

" hey Adams " clara called out to him excitedly. He flickered his eyes over to meet hers and when she tapped the seat beside her.I quickly tore my gaze away from the both of them

" hey can I sit here " a deep voice called out to me.I snapped my head up and the first thought that came into my head was

Where is mrs sonia? I looked around and it turned out that she was having a conversation with another teacher.I sighed

" Meera can I sit here ? "I heard the voice call again and this time I slowly brought up my face to meet a pair of chocolate brown eyes staring at me indifferently

" you..you..know my name ? "I ask him..I felt my insides dance around with joy as I replied. He shrugged

" yeah..I know your name.do you mind if I sit here ? "He answered nonchalantly again but I shoved it aside

People. Adams just asked to sit with me!!!

Adams as in my crush..my crush who never noticed I existed. ...

Not only that..he even knows my fudging name....yayyy

gosh!! I couldn't believe it.

Maybe it's a dream or maybe he caught me staring at him and he wanted to play with my thoughts..maybe..

No maybe's something is going to change this session my subconscious whispered and I could swear it seemed as happy as I was.

I turned to take a look at Clara and man!! I shouldn't have done that..her eyes were staring daggers at me like if asked her wish right now, she'd say she would happily bury me alive

I scoffed.girl..get a life already will ya.

I turned my gaze back to Adams who looked like he was already getting tired

" why didn't you sit with clara ? "I asked. Wanting to make sure he was in his right senses to sit with me

" are you going to let me sit or not?" He asked with his tone laced with a slight pissed off one.

I quickly removed my books from the seat " no..umm..yes..you can sit.." I said chuckling nervously

Gosh. I look like a fish right now just because of my crush...Adam muttered a thanks and quickly made himself comfortable beside me.

I smiled happily to myself..I don't even know why I was so happy but then it was nice to know that my crush knew my name after two years of never talking to me and it was nice see that he wanted to sit beside me.

Mrs Sonia walked into the class again apologising for keeping us waiting. I laughed to myself.

If this is the good we get from waiting then impatient me wouldn't mind to wait afterall.

She called the roll call and afterwards, left the class.

There wasn't much to do today at school considering that it was the first day of school.students were out already and I was left alone with sandwich and Sophie

" hey mimi " Sophie called me and I smiled at her making her abit taken aback

" sophieeee...aren't you going for lunch break " I said after squealing her name

" what's giving you joy like this today?" She asked and I shrugged

Sophie was in the science class only sandwich and I were in arts

" just because her crush became her seatmate today " sandwich said and I smiled shyly

" it's not just that..I mean he knows my name..Adam knows my freaking name " I said doing a little dance on my seat as my friends laughed

" if only you're that happy about being in school.you would have been on scholarship by now " Annette replied and I glared at her

" meaning what na? I'm happy to be a student durrh. else I wouldn't want to have gone to the last national spelling bee last year " I said eyeing her as Sophie laughed

Proud to say:yes I won the spelling bee

" why didn't he seat with clara tho?"she asked

" I.don't. Know. And.I.don't. Care " I said still dancing a little on my seat

" hey chin chin. You're making alot of noise " a voice called out roughly making me freeze on my seat.there was one person who I knew that called me by that ridiculous name and that was freaking dozie.

I have even forgotten that he existed. I snapped my head at him.he wore a blue headphones and he seemed to be busy scrolling through his phone.

I cleared my throat " hmm..mr.dozie matts. How many times do I have to warn you to quit calling me chin chin" I said glaring at him

" i can't help it..I happened to have a thing for those small snacks " he said shrugging and I roll my eyes

" I'm no snack dozie..my name is Meera."

" M.E.E.R.A " I spelt it out.. "get it into your thick skull "I said huffing

"... Am afraid they just won't enter cause you keep squealing about your lazy crush " he said shrugging still not looking at me

" how is that affecting you ?"

" I sit behind you " he retorts

" oh wow...you really did the world a favor.." I said sacarstically and he raises his thick black lashes to meet my scowling face

" are you that excited about Adams sitting beside you?" He asked and I snarl

" are you jealous ?" I said without thinking and a hint of hurt flash quickly in his eyes before it quickly replaced itself with a mischevious glint

" you think I am ?"

" deal with it.." I shrugged and he chuckled.standing up slowly

" fine..dearest chin chin " he said smirking at me as he pulled my hair loose from the bun which I tied it into this morning.

He walked away like he didn't just scatter my hair. Leaving my swearing and muttering profanities at him.

" I swear I'll show that guy something in this school " I huff angrily as Sophie laughed

" after both of you's little bantering tell us ooh..so we can know when the wedding will start " Annette said and I glared at her making Sophie roll into fits of more laughter...
