Is your pen name your legal name? If no, then how did you make up one?
NO, my legal name is Tyronickah Sharlyn Theresa Buckmire Clement Findlay. XD See the need for a pen name. It's actually a longer version of a nickname I used when I was younger (TC) and my married last name (Findlay).
How many books have you published till date?
On wattpad, I had a total of 17 published works. 2 of which I had completed. One of which I am currently rewriting. The others, I am either writing them or they are waiting to be rewritten or finished because life hit hard when I had a baby. (she takes up most of my time)
What are your future projects?
Future projects? I recently had an idea to write about one of my followers here on wattpad. She suffers from memory issues and I thought a book about a girl/guy who can't remember the things most important to them would be a good story to tell. I also have a book that I'm working on offline that I plan to self publish called Magicians are born not made.
What is writing to you?
Writing is an escape but it's also something that I'm very passionate about. I feel more alive and more myself when I'm writing. And it could be any story from any genre, I just feel a deep connection to all of the characters that I cry with them, smile with them, fall in love when they do. If anything, writing is the one thing that makes me able to understand people in a deeper way and for that, I am very grateful.
Is being an author, your long time dream or a hidden passion you found out later?
I would say that it is a long-time passion. I've always written, I just didn't see myself writing on a professional scale. I've done speeches, as well as contest-winning essays, and even tributes/odes that were presented as wedding gifts.
What genre books you like to work on?
I don't have any specific genre. I like to try different things sometimes, so I've gauged a few, maybe 7 different genre's so far.
If we challenge you to write a book of another genre we suggest, then would you take it up?
It would really depend on the genre and if I can think up good enough characters that the audience can relate to.
Then we would love to read a Historical Romance book from you soon.
Writing is a reality that paints a beautiful fantasy. What do you think are the charms of writing fiction/non fictional books?
Charms of writing fiction are that there are no guidelines or rules, you as a writer are completely in control. You can make it whatever you want and in life, that's a sort of freedom that everyone wants.
Who are your favorite authors in and out of wattpad?
My favorite authors on wattpad would have to be my dear friend Max Constringutur, Haven84 (Lora) who actually just got traditionally published. Her book, The first 30 days, is amazing and she is a wonderful person. I also like Wimbug I don't know why she hasn't won a Watty yet but that's okay because her YA novels are simply amazing :) Lastly, Stormridden who is a crazy good fantasy writer. I want her to be traditionally published because her work deserves to be in everyone's bookshelf. Out of wattpad, my fave authors are John Grisham and Stephen King.
Name few of your close wattpad friends.
Close wattpad friends sheena726 boabee19 paulapdx josieclaus cross-warrior chrissymreau81 and those mentioned before as well. I think I have too many close wattpad friends to be named here.
What is your favorite series you have recently watched or read?
Favorite series I've recently watched would be Mother of mine. Of course, I have many English and south Korean faves but this one left me emotional as of late.
Who is your favorite actor/actress?
I don't have a favorite actor or actress. I'm very passionate about a lot of people in the industry. I used to act in short films and theater so I've learned to keep my love for one specific person at a minimum or I end up acting like a fool like I did when I met Danielle Radcliffe.
Who is your favorite Villain you couldn't help but love?
My favorite all-time villain would have to be Jess from my book She loves them both and that's because she's a villain but she's also a broken person searching for love in the wrong way.
What are your hobbies other than writing and reading?
Painting. i also enjoy playing the sims. I play tennis when I have the time, and basketball with my husband when we have family outings. I guess the one hobby I enjoy the most would be cooking, I like to create new things like Soma does in Shokugeki.
What are your hidden talents?
I don't think I have any hidden talents. I'm a pretty open person who wears her emotions on her sleeves.
Who is your first celebrity crush?
The first celebrity crush is obviously Johnny Depp.
What is the most embarrassing situation that you have ever been through?
Most embarrassing situation ever is my mom coming to school because she'd told me to change into a different shirt (I didn't, I just covered it with another) and her finding me in the shirt she'd told me to change out of, then making me change back in front of my class. I was 16. -_-
One craziest thing you have ever done?
Craziest thing I've ever done is drink too much alcohol at a college party, propose to my (now) husband, and then projectile vomit all over the floor of the foam party. There was no more party after that and he proposed officially a year later. And yes, my mom coming to school was still more embarrassing.
There are many authors who just started their journey and many readers who want to write but has no courage to do so. Please give them a tip and a word of encouragement.
Words of advice- - Don't doubt yourself. You are your own worst critic and the most important thing to remember is that you are writing the story that you want to read. Don't give anyone else a single thought. make yourself happy! And even if your reads aren't going up as fast as you like, or you're not getting any votes, don't worry. Some readers prefer to be silent, though we authors do relish seeing a vote from you, some readers just prefer anonymity. They're secretly cheering you on and it's your only job to keep enjoying what you do so that they can enjoy it just as much if not more.
Last but not the least, have you ever dreamt of writing your own comic?
My own comic has actually been in the works before. My BFF boabee19 and another friend of ours had planned out our own manga series, but we never got to start it because life is a cruel mistress. There's always hope in the future though, we're still young.
What do you feel about this interview?
This interview is something I definitely needed. I've been mostly away from wattpad the last year, only really coming here to post ever so often or to complete my ambassador duties (right, I'm ambassador feel free to reach out if you need anything) But after answering these questions, I could the chance to think about things I haven't in a while and really feel good about what I do and who I am as a writer. Thank you so much for this opportunity and I hope the readers check out my work !
