Dedicated to @YvonneKindle. I'm sorry I forgot (almost) everything from physics class.

My favorite class, not subject.
PHSY200/201: Introductory Physics for Physics Majors
'Why not?' I could drop down into an appropriate introductory course if it didn't go well.
It didn't go well.
Every class I tried to find the seat least likely in the room to be called on by the lean, serious professor who wrote elegantly on the chalkboard before turning to face the class with his icy blue eyes.
Finally, I found the perfect seat safely next to a column halfway up the auditorium. From my new vantage point, I first noticed him. He sat alone in the front, left of center, and had dark wavy hair and an olive complexion. His muscled back slouched casually in the wooden chair. My mouth went dry. He never took notes. Every class he ate an orange, slowly peeling the skin in one spiral. And I watched him. Every. Class.
The net magnetic flux out of any closed surface is zero.
I didn't exist. His deadly determined face chiseled like a god was too perfect to interact with mortals. It took me until Christmas to learn his name. Maxwell.
In applying Gauss' law to the electric field of a point charge... it is consistent with Coulomb's Law..unlike charges attract.
My yellow pencil slipped in my sweaty fingers. Halfway through a vain attempt to answer the second question, the creak-clunk of a stadium seat folding up broke the silence as someone from the front row walked up to the professor's desk. Only one person finished every test that fast. My eyes flitted up from a page full of eraser marks to watch him turn in his blue booklet cool, calm, and as gorgeous as Zeus. And then he looked up at me with his deep dark eyes. For a full second. Before sauntering out of the room.
This satisfies Newton's Third Law...all forces in the universe occur in equal but oppositely directed pairs.
His seat was empty. The professor began. A heavy presence sat down next to me, heat radiating off of him. My breath hitched. I opened my notebook without looking up. He smelled clean, citrusy and delicious. Our shoulders gently bumped as he peeled the fragrant fruit. Warm muscles leaned against the length of my arm and a half an orange hovered over my notebook. My fingers grazed his as I barely whispered a ragged, 'thanks.' Looking straight ahead, I savored the sweetness and the divine presence next to me.
In static electric field, the line integral of the magnetic field around a closed loop is proportional to the electric current flowing through the loop.
I don't know what that means, but I was crushed under his muscular chest, kissing his irresistible lips. They tasted heavenly, but not good enough to get over the fact that we didn't have anything to say to each other.
The fate of an electron traversing the double slit is determined by a wave putting an end to Newtonian mechanics.
"I'm sorry Max," I said looking into his fathomless eyes. "This isn't going to work."
