Dawn

"Hey we didn't get to talk much this time around you know" Kenny said.

As the last day here at the shared island we princesses had to spend the day with 'our' princes.

All I wanted to do was to tell paul I was fawn and that's how I gained my strength. I was able to protect him because of well him.

I wonder how he'll react to it though. Maybe Paul will be happy to now be able to train with the real dawn as herself.

That made me smile and Kenny laughed thinking I smiled at his joke. His words were going through one ear and coming out through the other to me.

"Dawn can you believe it in 2 years time we'll be married and the firsts set of king and queen who dies in our family we'll take over that kingdom" that's how princes were raised to think.

Get married and conquer. No emotion.

It wasn't their fault their such pricks. Well maybe a little their own fault.

"Sounds great" I said with a bored look.

"Hey So my kingdoms annual ball is coming up you bring a knight to protect you in case of anything and spend the night with you beloved prince" every year his kingdom held this ball.

The kingdom of coal minings galore. It has always been in competition with the Hoenn region but now that region has no competition left leaving them to be number one.

But his ball is known as the it place to be. Every princess and prince wanted to be there. Every year though the main prince Kenny and the main guest of his me would never be there.

I would always decline and Kenny would be there alone to his own party!

"I'll think about it" he should know that was my nice way of saying no.

"Really dawn think about it" he said getting up from the grass.

He then picked a lily from the ground of the garden and placed it in my hair. I hated when he tried to do nice things like this. He just did them to get me to change how I feel.

My whole life though I've only wanted to be with Paul.

I laid back in my bed waiting for Paul. Finally we were on the ship home and Paul said he would sneak into my room and we could finally catch up after today.

My mind was racing on what to talk about the most important being to confess about fawn.

Minutes felt like hours but finally I heard my door creak open.

Gleefully I got up running to him almost tripping over my long nightgown until finally I jumped into his arms.

How long I've waited to be able to do this.

"Glad to see you missed me" he said holding onto me tightly.

He walked over to the bed laying me down and he then laid next to me.

"I've never imagined actually being able to be this close to you" I said playing with his hair.

I couldn't get enough of all this.

"Well I'll make it all up for you for every day I kept you waiting I'll make it up" he said then pressing a soft kiss to my lips.

"Paul before anything I have something important to tell you" I said sitting up.

He furrowed a brow also sitting up.

"Go on" he said.

"Well you know how all of a sudden I was able to defeat the dragon and have all this strength well it wasn't on my own" I began.

He tilted his head now even more confused.

"Well paul I gained my strength because of you" he still didn't get what I was getting at.

"Paul Im Fawn ok! I was the one getting training from you! Please don't hate me!" I said really fast.

He sat there quietly and I couldn't read his expression. Paul then though wrapped his arms around me.

"Love I could never hate you not even for a silly reason like that dawn I'm glad you did train with me under a disguise you saved me life" he said softly.

He's never been like this before. I loved him for changing for me though.

I pulled back to then just lean in and kiss him.

I knew I had to savior this now. For when we were home it would be a long time before we could be like this again.

Leaf

"Leaf your home!" Yellow ran into my arms hugging me. I lifted her up and kissed her cheek.

"Yes indeed little sister what have you been up to while I've been gone?" I asked.

She began to show me all her drawings she made while I was away when my parents came into her room.

"Ah leaf how was silver?" My mother asked.

"That boy has a heart of steel no emotion whatsoever" I said. I mean I wasn't lying he hardly opened up the moments I did see him. Most of my trip was really with my new friends and Garry.

"Ah we will have to set you both on more dates then" my mother said and now I wished I had lied.

My mother patted my hair and then they both left the room.

"I'm going to go see my horse want to come?" I asked yellow.

She nodded and grabbed ahold of my hand following along.

"What's her name again?" Yellow asked as we walked.

"Ponyta a pokemon" pokemon We're rare to find. Many of them just disappeared from the world centuries ago. I found ponyta near my cottage in the woods and caught her.

Poke balls still existed but not many people actually owned a Pokémon. Animals were way more common.

We reached the stables and yellow helped me comb ponyta fur. We both heard giggling and turned to see Garry playing with daisy at the training grounds.

I smiled at his joyful look.

"You know I was very said when I would see them playing together I was jealous all I wanted was to have a sibling like daisy I knew you existed but you were far far away" yellow said sadly. I leaned down and gave her my full attention.

"But now your here and I don't have to be so jealous" I smiled at that and hugged her.

"You'll never be alone again" I whispered enough for her to hear.

"Yellow come on let's play!" Daisy waved rubbing up to us Garry walking right behind her.

At that I pushed my hair back with a light smile. Daisy and yellow ran off leaving us alone.

"Hows ponyta?" He asked trying to hold himself from smiling. I giggled and replied "great".

"Why don't we take him for a ride?" He suggested. We sped off on him and all I could do was rest my head on his back letting the wind pull my hair all about.

We ended up on a tall mountain we Garry started.

"This remind you of anything?" He said with a smirk.

"The day I fell in love with you right" I stated.

"Ah bingo my Leaf is too clever" he said as he sat back on a tree. I sat with him laying on him. He put his hand on top of my head sweetly.

"Your too special to me" he said kissing the top of my head.

"Don't ever take back your words" I replied. We sat there for hours just resting in each other.

Later that night in my room my magic mirror I had left on my counter began to glow.

Picking it up I was greeted by Val.

"Hello leaf! We have much to talk about!" Val said in a high pitched voice.

"Huh like what?" I asked.

"Your powers of course you got some in ya eh I could sense it your bloodline is from a holy temple!" She began. Had she gone mad?

"I knew you wouldn't believe it though eh so Ima have prove it to ya ain't I?" Suddenly the mirror began to glow yellow blinding me.

When I opened my eyes I was in a ruins and beside me was Val.

"This is the ruins of magic academy not to far from your castle actually" she began.

I looked around and it was magnificent.

"You think it's pretty now eh? Wait until I show you this" she walked forward and disappeared. It was one of those type of force fields again.

I walked forward and suddenly it was no longer a ruins. It was a huge White Castle with beautiful stone pavements with water running through it.

There were many people walking around it in white gown type outfits like a uniform.

"This academy runs in secret from the world as this type of education was banned many years ago" she began to explain.

"Can they see us?" I asked. She shook her head.

"This is a hologram of yesterday afternoon but leaf the reason of this place do you know?" She asked.

I shook my head. I didn't know anything of the real world anyways. All that had been kept away from me for years.

"The students are trained their whole lives to be summoners of legendary Pokémon they are stored in ancient temples hidden all over this world it is said once a summoner collects all of them they do a ritual to free all the Pokémon" she explained.

"Okay but why does this have anything to do with me?" I asked.

"Because leaf nobody has been able to accomplish this but you can your from a line of master summoners who died for this because the final legendary... he's quite dangerous but you you have a love for Pokémon surely you here could control him and be able to save the trapped Pokémon in the void" she added.

"The void?" I questioned.

"It's a place of nothing. Once you gain your celestial weapon you will be able to summon it from the void that's where the legendarios are except their voids are different from the grand void theirs are tiny and locked away in the hidden temples I mentioned but leaf in order to do this I must take you here and you will spend many years training with no contact of the outside world that is the price of this" that last part made me gulp.

Why now? After I'm finally happy.

"Leaf this is your destiny it's a calling you eh don't miss out for what's happening in your life at the moment it'll come after you bring the Pokémon back" she made it sound easier then it really was.

Give up everything.

Garry, Yellow, my friends. How could I?

"Please keep it in mind" suddenly the world faded back into my bedroom and Val had ended the conversation.

A knock suddenly at my door and Garry came in. I hesitated but decided to keep the events a secret for now.

"Ah Garry you caught me just on time I was about to head to bed" I said walking over to him wrapping my arms around his neck.

"Oh I should let you rest" he said softly.

"Thank you darling" I said letting him go. I needed distance anyways. This new idea of summoners was eating at me.

Leave everything behind when I just got it?

Misty

I dove into my secret ocean looking for more treasure. The sunken ship though I had cleaned out.

So instead I decided to go farther into the ocean.

As I swam a dolphin came up to me. I petted her when suddenly I heard her.

"Yeah that's the spot!" She exclaimed.

I was taken aback that I could understand her.

"Your so far from Atlantis though what are you doing all the way out here?" She asked as if everything was so normal.

"Atlantis?" I titled my head.

"The mermaid city duh you lose your memory or something?" She continued.

I narrowed my eyes how rude.

"I'm the princess of Kanto I've never heard anything of this Atlantis" I said crossing my arms.

"Your from the surface? How can that be all mermaids live in Atlantis under the ruling of King triton!" She exclaimed.

"Not me I guess" I muttered.

"Hm come with me to Atlantis something is wrong with you maybe somebody there will recognize you" she explained.

I shook my head though "all my life I've lived on the surface in the castle my power is a secret though I don't know how I got it" I said.

"Hmm you do look so familiar though come on please we should get answers and you say it's been a kept secret shouldn't you go and see for yourself other mermaids like you?" She did have a point.

I nodded my head and she spoke again "follow me"

After swimming for a while I could see it in the distance. Atlantis. A gold castle lighting up the whole sea around us.

So many fish and dolphins swimming around it.

"Oh yeah by the way my name is Delphine" the dolphin said.

We continued swimming past the city all the way to the castle gates.

"Excuse me sir's I must speak to king triton!" She commanded and they opened the gates for her.

Things obviously worked different down here. Back at home the guards would never let strangers come and go inside all they wanted.

As soon as the doors opened we were met with king triton sitting on his throne.

Long white hair and a golden rod placed right next to him.

"King triton sir this girl says she's a princess from the surface but look she's a mermaid how could this be possible!?" Delphine exclaimed.

He stood from his seat and swam closer to me inspecting me.

"That hair and eyes young lady whose your mother?" He asked.

"Queen Melany" I answered.

"As I thought you see melany was my daughter but she fell in love with a man from the surface. He was a prince and she was a princess but knew she couldn't be with him unless she became a human well that was impossible so she made a deal with a sea witch to have legs but forever be a mermaid if she ever step foot in water and that her last child was destined to be a mermaid but it seems that your only half somehow which is impossible something isn't right" oh great more royalty blood in me.

I always assumed my parents weren't much of adventurers themselves but now I think otherwise.

I was in the same situation as her. In love with someone I couldn't be with. Then there would be a price for it.

...

Finally I was back on land heading home. Ash would be done with his training soon and I wanted to tell him everything.

I could use this new found information to my advantage. My parents would have to approve of this and understand this. They went through it themselves.

Once at the training grounds I found ash drinking from a metal cup all sweaty.

Ever since we got back from the shared island he seemed more and more discouraged.

All the other knights had been stronger then him. Even drew himself was stronger! He didn't even want to be a knight!

Ash was spending more and more time trying to become stronger and climb the ranks.

So I gave him more space and it seemed to help him.

"Ash!" I called over waving my hand. He smiled and came over to me hugging me as no one was around.

"How's your day been?" I asked pulling back. He rubbed some sweat off

"Great I'm no longer the lowest knight here I got one up" I giggled. His slight improvements would surely get him to the top.

"That's great ash" I said kissing his cheek.

"And how's your day been mist?" He asked now.

"Hm actually can we talk in private?" I said. He nodded and I pulled him away to the back of the living quarters.

"Ash today I found the city of Atlantis where mermaids live! King triton is my grandfather he says my mother ran away to be with the prince my dad and became a human so she was kind of in the same situation I was in so maybe if I tell her she will approve of us being together" Ash smiled and picked me up hugging me.

"Misty this is great news we can be together without it having to be a secret!" He then pulled me a little down to kiss me.

I kissed him back with a smile.

"Yes Ash it'll be fantastic!"

Little did I know it wouldn't be.

Once again I found myself in my library with my sisters being annoying as usual.

They forced me to leave and instead I we to hangout with max.

"May look at my new toy it's a train set" max showed me.

I smiled and patted his head.

"May one day we'll have our family back won't we?" I knew mom and dads death moved him deeply.

"One day for now she seems to keep you safe no matter what though I promise you we'll be okay" I said a lot not really knowing if I could do all that.

With drew though I could.

"How can you say that every day you seem so distant and everything around us is crumbling!" He yelled running off.

Oh no. I wish my mom and dad were still here. Life was so much simpler then.

I got up and went to the balcony looking at the kingdom covered in snow.

Tears slipped from my eyes and suddenly a little white glow appeared from them.

I followed the twinkle and suddenly a small lady with wings appeared!

I fell back on my bottom in shock

"W...What are you!" I screamed.

"Honey I am your fairy godmother in times like this when you are lost I am here!" She spoke.

I got up and flew to meet my gaze.

"May dear your hurting and need guidance I have the answers" she comforted me.

I wiped a tear away and nodded.

"May you have to runaway with max form a stronger bond and return in two years time once you do you'll have the strength to take back your kingdom" she explained.

"But what about drew why can't he come?" I questioned.

"May answers will come in due time I'm telling you this because these things happen for a reason be free to tell him your goodbyes a ship leaves tonight to Kanto join misty in her kingdom they shall help you conspire a plan with the other kingdoms" she added.

At this I took the courage in me to be able to accomplish this task.

"Okay I'll do it" I stood straight up looking at the kingdom before me. Yes it'll be a long time by I can handle anything life throws at me.

"Thank you" I said before turning away back into the castle. I had to see drew.

I found him outside in the backyard as a wolf. We were alone.

Tears began to form in my eyes again. I know we weren't together but I really did want to be with him. But there's too many things I have to be thinking about.

I'd only leave him heartbreak if I was with him.

He transformed into a human and looked at me coming closer.

"May are you okay?" He could see the sadness in my eyes.

I ran off not wanting to face him.

He caught me in the ballroom though.

"May tell me what's the matter?" He held my face gently with his hand. I shook my head biting my tongue.

"Drew in order to save my kingdom I have to go for two years" I said it.

"Well then I'm coming with you" he said determined.

I shook my head "Drew I need you here as the rebellion leader give my people hope for me while I'm gone please promise me you can do that I know it's a lot to ask but I'll be back and then the kingdom can be saved" I said tears slipping from my eyes.

He looked down defeated.

"May I love you with all my heart promise me when you return we can be together and happy" he said pleadingly.

"You know I can't promise you that I'll have a whole kingdom to rule over then" I said though it torn me up inside.

He continued to look down for a long while.

Finally he raised his head and spoke to me in the best way he could.

In his last words he spun me forcing me to look at him. He held me but once again I pulled away then I began to say the words the best way I could.
