Catching Each Other

Garry

"Come on big brother I want to play" Daisy wines as she pulled on my pant leg.

I sighed "daisy I'm busy I have a lot of training to catch up on after running around after the princess" I explained.

She crossed her arms before walking off and I continued working on some combat skills.

Although after finally getting training time I found myself still have blue on my mind. I don't get her. What was she doing to me?

It was like a spell.

I'm suppose to be protecting her not falling in love with her. But I concluded I just haven't seen her as s real princess yet.

After three hours of training I finally finished and headed inside the castle to find Daisy. Now I had time for her.

I walked upstairs to the playroom where she usually was with yellow but she wasn't there.

"Ah sir Garry if you're looking for Daisy she is off in the garden with the princesses" a maid said as she carried a crate of towels.

I nodded and thanked her also keeping in mind it was plural princesses.

Walking out towards the garden I already heard the giggles.

"Make me one too!" I heard yellow. Walking closer I saw them.

"Ok ok!" Blue laughed as she picked out more flowers. Blue and daisy both had flower crowns on.

"Make her's pretty like mine!" Daisy said pointing at her own.

"You got it" blue answered as she continued working on it. I smiled seeing daisy happy like that.

"How'd you learn to make these?" Daisy asked.

"Hm my other mother" blue said simply.

I came closer and they all turned to look at me.

"Garry! I didn't end up needing you in the end blues been playing with us all day!" Daisy said.

"Thanks blue" I said sitting next to them. She didn't look at me though. Things have been weird now between us since our last outing.

"All done" she mumbled and placed the flower crown on yellow.

"Beautiful" blue said making yellow blush.

"I wish I had a big sister" daisy mumbled making blue and yellow laugh.

"Hey that hurt my feelings" I played.

"Oh you should make Garry a crown" daisy laughed at the thought.

"Sure thing princess" blue said to daisy.

Princess?

"Why'd you call her that?" I asked. Blue looked at me directly.

"Because daisy wants to be and you can be anything" she said determinedly.

I was surprised of that from her.

"I'm no princess you can take my place daisy" blue said making Daisy's eyes sparkle.

"Don't get her hopes up" I said a little angrily. I don't want her to lead daisy on.

"Daisy could become a princess if she wanted to" she said and I sighed looking away.

"It's getting late you guys will have dinner soon and tomorrow is a big day it's your coronation and we all have to participate" I explained making their smiles disappear.

"Aww just a little longer the sun hasn't even fully set!" Daisy wined to me.

I tapped her head as I got up "nope it's time" I said making it final. She gave me an angered look but followed along anyways.

...

"I wish we could eat in a fancy palace" daisy said as she picked at her food.

Our little wooden cottage creaked as we moved. It wasn't the nicest but it was the best the king and queen offered us.

"Daisy the king and queen gave me this house as a gift for all my dedication to them we're one of the lucky few that get to live in the castle grounds safe" I said though she just got sadder.

"Yes but I want more" she pouted and my heart tugged.

"Dreams aren't a bad thing" she looked at me surprised. Probably since earlier I wished badly on her dreams.

She brightly smiled "Yeah brother one day I'll be a princess and you'll live in the castle right next to me!" She cheered.

I laughed with her guess it wasn't such a bad thing for blue to support her.

After dinner I tucked her into bed and went to lay down in my bed. Tomorrow would be a big day after all.

Blues coronation. She'll be a real princess and I'll get over these stupid feelings.

I heard footsteps interrupting my thoughts. They weren't inside though. Quickly I grabbed my candle light and looked out the window. I was in defense mode.

Looking around I made out a figure walking towards the wall gate.

My sister and I lived on a property right next to the edge of the castle territory walls. Closed to the villagers.

Looking closer I made out that familiar hair.

Blue.

Sighing I jumped through my window and walked over to her.

"Blue what are you doing in the middle of the night" she jumped scared of my suddenness.

"Garry of course you of all people would find me, I'm leaving to visit my old home I need to see if my mother is there before it's too late" she walked off but I grabbed her hand before she could go any farther.

"Blue your mother is a traitor and kidnapped hell she told you people were monsters!" I yelled getting my point across.

She quickly pulled her hand back from my grasp.

"Well I'm still not quite sure you people aren't monsters!" She countered.

I rolled my eyes "do you believe my sister is a monster" she began to look down knowing I proved my point.

"Look Blue I'll take you inside and alert the night shift guards to be more alert" I began to pull her back when she yelled.

"No! First let me go please when I'm a princess I never will be able to and then I'll just have to marry off and be gone please Garry! You can come too just quickly I want to see it one last time!" She begged now on her knees.

My heart tugged all over. She really wanted this.

"Alright fine!"

....

"Ugh it's so dirty in here" I complained as blue looked around.

"Ah My teddy!" She picked up a stuffed bear and hugged it. I rolled my eyes and looked around. Maybe I could find a clue to the identity of the kidnapper.

Blue obviously looked around the house as I went off in another direction.

On the kitchen counter I found a note. It was addressed to blue from her mother. Quickly I grabbed it and hid it in my jacket.

Blue then came back.

"No traces of my other mother I wonder why she left for longer then she said" blue said confused.

I sighed and looked around at all the clutter the house had.

"You stole a lot huh" she nodded with a smirk.

"I don't believe in rules" she said pointing a finger in the air. I rolled my eyes and tskd.

"We need rules in the world for order" I said seriously as she stuck her tongue out.

"Enough blue let's get you back before they realize your missing" I tried and she pouted but agreed.

Back at the castle I walked her to the castle doors and she stopped.

"Um Garry thank you for this, that was the closure I needed" she then hugged me and I was taken aback.

I hugged her back loving to feel her so close.

She giggled before letting go and skipping inside.

I took a breath flustered.

What is this girl doing to me?

Paul

"Enough fawn you're pushing yourself too hard" I nagged at the girl now out of breath.

She fell to her knees puffing out air and I pulled a wooden cup of water to her.

"thanks" she breathed out before taking it all in.

"It's going to be hard for a while but you'll get there" I said understanding her pain.

I was surprised she really did keep going at it. I would've thought she would have given up by now.

She finally got up whiping some sweat off of her forehead.

"Woah little by little I'll get there!" I smiled slightly at how pumped she still was.

"So tonight I heard your joining the princess tonight on a test ride of this whole new magic thing you excited?" She asked as she leaned against the fence next to me.

I shrugged "just an assignment from king and queen" she narrowed her eyes at that.

"And how do you feel about the princess?" I raised a brow at her question.

"To protect her as my duty that's all it is, you're asking weird questions fawn" she shook her head.

"What! Of course not I'm just curious she seems like a cool person from what I've heard" She continued.

I turned away but nodded in agreement.

"She really is although she can be annoying all the same" I said. I turned back to face her to see red covering her cheeks. Looking at her I could see something familiar yet I couldn't put my finger on it. Suddenly Fawn rose up.

"Well I'll be heading off now have fun with the princess" she winked before running off and I just shook my head.

...

"Ah paul meet Lewis he's a magician and he has something very special to present to the princess" the queen started.

I nodded as Lewis knelt down unrolling his gift.

"Princess this is a magic carpet you can take it wherever you like please take it out now and tell me how you like it I've been working on this magic for you for months now" a lot of people adored the princess.

They would present with gifts all the time topping each other each time.

Dawn smiled and thanked him "My love will ride with me" her parents just shook their head but had already agreed to make sure she was safe.

We all followed Lewis outside where he prepared the carpet.

I was amazed at it floating in the air on its own.

We walked towards it and I helped dawn up. After I hopped on with her.

"Enjoy the ride!" Lewis said before the carpet went flying off up into the heavens, dawn holding onto me tight.

"Wow the world looks so tiny!" Dawn said as she pointed below. I closed my eyes and let myself feel the air.

When I opened them I turned to see dawn staring at me mesmerized.

"Paul your so enchanting I admire you so much I just wish... I wish you could see me the way I see you" she looked down as she trailed off.

I shook my head "those feelings should cease from existing your not meant to be with me".

Then she shook her head "forget about the other stuff just that there feelings that even anything around the circumstances I'd still harbor those emotions there because of love love prevails no matter what" her words stuck with me.

But my duties come first.

Besides I never really have harbored feelings for her. Not with many people really.

"Dawn forget about all that" I said ending it at that.

The carpet went lower towards the river and stopped there.

"Guess he set a path and this is a break" I looked over at her seeing her look away.

Her eyes were watery.

Oh no don't tell me.

"I hate you Paul!" She jumped off the carpet landing in the river though it was shallow so she could stand.

She continued walking and running off.

"Dawn!" I called racing into the forest looking for her. I watched as her blue hair flowed from her.

Why was she so fast all of the sudden? She didn't even break a sweat!

Must be the adrenaline rush.

"Leave me be you don't even want me!" She yelled continuing to run further.

What was I to do?

"I do but we can't!" I lied yelling. She slowed down. It was working.

She stopped and turned to me fuming "Stop lying!" She yelled before turning to  jump over a stump in that dress!

I was starting to lose her.

"Dawn I really do love you this whole time you've always... you've always cheered me on through everything I know I don't show it but I promise you it's the truth I swear to you dawn!" She finally stopped turning around her eyes shining.

"Prove it" she huffed.

I sighed and did what I had to as my duty. I got closer and she took a step back but I stopped her by grabbing her arm.

Quickly I held her in place and I knelt down kissing her hand. Her face went red and I couldn't help but blush as well. Knowing Dawn almost my entire life I knew of how naive she was.

"We could run away and elope!" She blurted out and I shook my head.

"You know what my dreams are... to make him proud" she understood what I meant and finally came to the carpet with me.

She was down the whole ride though.

"You lied right" I nodded knowing it would hurt her if I just continued to lie about it. Dawn knows deep down anyways.

"I wanted to pretend it was real but I'll always know" she said sadly.

My chest felt a deep pang and I couldn't look her in the eyes. Suddenly her weight shifted and as I turned back to her I watched her let herself fall.

Everything in my mind stopped. I wasn't thinking. I pushed myself off falling to catch her. Her tears and hair flying from her face.

"DAWN!" I roared catching her into my arms.

I held her tightly awaiting for the ground to hit us and release us from life.

After a while I realized the carpet caught us.

I opened my eyes looking into hers and she just laid there under me mesmerized.

"Dawn why would you do that!" I yelled sitting up.

She just continued laying there.

"You caught me"

She wasn't wrong.

Ash

"Hmm well we've already been up the mountains twice this week" I said with a hand under my chin.

"Yup overdone ugh this little part of the world is getting too boring for me I wish there was more but we're right on the edge next to the ocean" she said as she continued feeding her horse.

More and more I see misty as less of a princess but more of a friend.

She's just normal not higher up or anything.

"Oh I know we should go to the beach!" She cringed at that.

"Um how about umm anything else!" She said nervously. I tilted my head at that confused.

What was wrong with the beach? Isn't it kinda a symbol of the kingdom?

"I don't like the water" she said looking away. I didn't pry too much after that.

"Hmm well why don't we take a break then for today I could spend more time doing knight duties and you can do um princess duties" I suggested.

She kept looking away but nodded and walked off.

Had I said something wrong?

...

During training today I found myself distracted. Thoughts about misty flooded me.

It got to where I couldn't even focus.

"Ash take a 5 minute break I don't know what's getting onto you but whatever it is you better pick up the pace again" the Captain yelled and I sighed putting my sword away.

I sat on the bench drinking water trying to get my head out of the clouds.

Really I missed my old home. With my best friend and mom. But after taking the knight entrance exam they found me more suitable to be here in Kanto.

My mom writes to me a lot but it's quite a far distance from Johto to Kanto. You'd have to go along the coast for the fastest route and it's still about a whole 2 days trip.

I remembered the day I left.

"I wish I could have done better to stay here and be on the johto knight team" I said sadly to my mom.

She just smiled happily though.

"I'm proud of you Ash no matter what and I know you'll keep making me proud" my mom said sweetly.

Though I could see the tears begging to come out in her eyes.

"I'll write to you every day and when you can visit I'll make you your favorite meals!" She cheered.

That was the edge. I started crying with her.

Soon after I left the dock onto the bought waving her off.

Being here is so lonely most of the time. I'm not too friendly with the knights then like back in johto.

The only person that made me feel at home was misty.

Every thing else is new to the oceans, forests, people, but she makes me feel at home.

...

It was night out and I decided to try and see if Marina was around.

She's very interesting well the fact that she's a mermaid! I wanted to know more about her world and her home.

I went to the docks taking a small boat and rode along the coast. It wasn't too far this area.

Once in the little part of Kantos ocean I saw her. With her long orange hair and pearls looking at the huge moon.

"Hey marina!" I waved making her look toward me with a huge smile.

I rowed closer to her and she continued sitting on the rock. This time I got a better view of her tail.

It was late blue to dark blue ombré and scaly.

"Um do you mind if I touch it?" Marina then moved my hand placing it on her fin.

"That's so cool" I laughed and she just smiled.

"So is this your home?" Marina nodded and bit her lip in thought.

She then pointed to the water while puffing her cheeks.

I understood though, she wanted me to dive in. I held a breath and let her pull me down with her.

We went down and I could see a sunken ship. Of course with the water pressure I couldn't go as deep as she could.

She went in and came back with a satchel. Inside she pulled out a mirror and it reflected the moonlight. It shined on us and she pulled me over and began to dance.

Well as much as she could dance.

I danced along with her and it was a sweet moment.

Soon though I had to go back up for air.

"Wow marina you have your own treasure" I laughed and she nodded smiling.

We looked up at the stars for a while before I left.

Marina was still a mystery though, and I'm going to solve it.

Drew

"Are you sure about this one?" I asked as I looked at the monkey mask.

"Suits you" may giggled as she began to put on her mask.

"Yours is way cooler though!" I whined.

Mays mask was a Japanese Fox and it looked great on her. Even her red hood made it better.

"Just go along with it it was the only left at that little shop" she explained.

"And your 100% sure they didn't see your face" may nodded at my question.

"If they had they would know who I was after our attack so of course I made sure to hide my identity" she exclaimed.

I was still nervous about this. I'm a knight and now a vigilante. Well I didn't take my knight job seriously anyway.

"The shipment of coal won't be too long now we'll burn the boxes before dumping them in the ocean and then I'll make my speech" may re explained her plan again.

"Yeah Yeah let's go and do this for Hoenn!" I yelled and she starred at me in awe.

"Let's so this then!"

...

It was late at night now and we were like ninjas in the shadows.

The ship wasn't really guarded that well only two men around the perimeters (goes to show how much in deep shit the kingdoms in).

It was easy to slip right through behind their back.

Once on the boat we quickly unhooked the boxes lighting them on fire and threw everything into the ocean.

By then the guards came over and began to yell at us.

May then started her speech.

"We demand the queen open up the coal mines again! We have more than enough here stop paying for uselessness and let us thrive!" She yelled and I was proud. Our first message to the world was out.

How would they perceive it?

...

The next morning I was walking around the town out and about seeing how the people reacted.

"Well finally somebody said it!" An older woman yapped to her grand daughter next to a floral shop.

Many people read the paper and agreed with it.

"Whoever these people are they're doing good" She continued.

All I could think about was May and how happy she'll be.

Hello readers! Sorry for the long wait on this chapter having a job and school at the same time is really time consuming!

Also for the fact that this is my favorite of my 4 stories I am writing so I put high standards on how I write this.

I have huge plans for the next coming chapters and I'm so excited to write them! I've never been so in love with some thing I'm writing then this and I hope it shows even though I take a while to write these chapters.

I work on parts and parts daily though and I do try to make each update super long (this one being the shortest so far).

My favorite of all 4 mini stories though would have to be the old rival shipping parts!

I would like to know what yalls favorite parts have been???!!! And also do you guys all read the full chapters or just specific character parts?

Heads up in the upcoming chapters you will need to know the full stories as they will finally collide!

Thanks for reading! <33
