chapter 4 promotion day

Aya Felicity woke up excited. Kariah-Belle and Akio were already putting on their battle gear.

Kariah-Belle beamed at her. "Good morning sleepy head."

Aya giggled.

"I'm so excited!" Kariah squealed. "A new planet!"

"It is exciting," Akio stated. "Never thought I'd travel to another world."

Aya had to admit she was ecstatic. She hurried in the shower and get ready. She braided her white hair.

After the three women finished readying themselves they left the building.

Both Vympiri and humans were gawking upwards.

"Is that a sun?!" said Kariah-Belle.

Aya looked up and saw the yellow ball of fire.

The three women hurried to the docking bay. It was packed with Knights.

The two women pushed through the crowd until they reached Iris. Kaden and Monty, we're chatting excitedly.

Sir Van smiled at Akio who forced a smile.

Everyone waited several minutes before the ship landed. The doors slid open. Bright sunlight hit Aya's skin.

She took in the scenery. It was beautiful. Blue trees covered the landscape. The air on this planet seemed different. She inhaled deeply.

Kariah walked out of the ship and stepped on the ground. She looked around in awe. "This is so cool!"

Akio and Aya followed behind. Others started to exit the massive space station.

Aye noticed a fleet of ships.

"Hello." said a man with snow white wings. His smile was bright. "My name is Agni Vetrain. We have prepared these ships to take you to your new homes. From today onward this planet is your home until we reclaim Lore. Welcome to Xerxes."

Behind the man stood more beings. She had studied all their races. Cullumbi, Fae, Angelli, Lycan and of course Aya knew about Vympiri.

The other races guided humankind and Vympiri alike. It was a sight to behold. Aya felt as if she was in good hands.

Time passed when they were in the air.

Aya looked to a man with impressive-looking gear. He had stitches on the visible parts of his skin. A Culumbi.

He noticed her watching and smiled. The man's demeanor was friendly but he had no blind spots.

"You're a Knight on your world alright."

Aya nodded. "What's it like being a amoung the stars?"

"It's exhilarating." He said.

"I'll bet."

"What's your rank?" he asked.

"Master Knight. Not for long though."

"Ah, you must be Aya Felicity." He smiled again.

"Of course Frozen Gun. The mortal race even know that today is the day you all move up in rank. It will be televised."

"It'll be what?" Kaden said.

"Oh relax." Iris spoke. "You were on TV during the entrance exam."

"Yeah I was focused on an enemy then."

"Don't worry." said the man. "The host is very kind."

It was much later when Aya was sitting on a massive set outside. This planet had three moons. One had noticable damage from a battle fought to reclaim it.

"Don't you look stunning." Said the host of the show. It was the man from before.

"Thank you."Aya smiled.

"So what's it like on your world?" he leaned across his desk. Truly fascinated.

"Its beautiful. The planet is so big you could explore it for a lifetime. "

"How long is a lifetime for humans?"

"About one hundred and seventy years."

"That must be a very big planet. Tell me how is it you haven't gone into the Fallen Place?"

Aya grew wide eyed.

"The Galactic Order decided it was best if everyone knew the criminals from Lore. Do you think he is alive."

"Yes."

"Do you care?"

Aya hesitated. Having found out what drove him to dark mana, she wasn't sure how to feel. She hated her father's deeds but did she hate him? Of course she did.

So why did she hesitate.

"A strong love you have human. What's it like seeing so many different races?"

"Honestly, its shocking. The only other race we've ever known were hostile. To see so many different types of species being friendly is starnge."

"Oh that's right, your race has faced the Darkness and Lord Dracula. Tell me about your encounter with the notorious traitor." He leaned back in his chair. "You must be quite strong to tangle with him."

"Oh no, it was others stronger than me." Aya sat back too and crossed her legs. "I only fought Dracula's Royal Guard."

"Still, Lord Dracula only picks the strongest. You are indeed skilled. Now back to my question, how have you not entered the Fallen Place."

"Its because I have people I want to protect at all cost. I cant eneter the Fallen Place until I know they're safe."

Aya understood Kariah-Belle.

"I see. What a noble heart. Glad to have you aboard the Galactic Galactic Order."

"Glad to be here. Thanks for having me."

Aya exited of stage and grabbed her Divine Knight cloak.

She was happy to have moved up in rank. With this her next move was to train under Sir Van and find Vemra.

Up next was Akio.

"You look dazzling sweetheart." Said the host. "What do they call you?"

"I'm human but my branch, The Stonehearts, is mixed with Drakon DNA." She answered looking as uninterested as ever.

"I see. Tell me why are you a knight?"

Akio thought. "There is an artifact my father once told me about. I want to find it."

"Well if your rules are like the rules in the Galactic Order then you'll be able to search for the artifact more efficiently now."

"Exactly." Akio nodded.

"Good job on an important milestone."

Akio nodded.

After a few knights got promoted, Monty was up next.

"Your sister would be proud." The show host told him.

A tear was in his eye. "I hope so."

"Thanks for coming on, Divine Knight: Earthquake cyclone."

"Thanks for having me."

Before long it was Kariah-Belle's turns. "So Divine Knight: Starblade. Did you ever think you'd be a Divine Knight in less than two years of your career?"

"No way. Never."

The man chuckled. "You deserve so much more than a title and promotion."

Kariah-Belle looked at the man confused. "What do you mean?"

"We all know about your willingness to sacrifice yourself."

"Oh." Said Ri.

"Just so you know some of us don't want such a young life to be wasted. We'd rather fight."

The Knights in the crowded cheered.

"I have to do this." She said frowning. "There are people I must protect."

"We all understand your resolve. May Kul guide you Lightkeeper."

Kaden sat down in the chair. The man smiled at him. Kaden grinned nervously.

"Uh, hi." He said.

"Hello, Lightning Flame. How are you? Enjoying your stay on your new planet?"

"Saying yes would be an understatement." Kaden responded.

"So tell me, what make you what to be a Knight."

"I want to be a great hero and be one of the Seven Swords of Justice."

"I see. Well as the man who toppled Dracula I'd say you're already a hero."

Kaden grinned.

The man grinned back. "I look forward to seeing how strong you become. Thank for coming on the show."

When the ceremony was over, Aya lay comfortably in her new bed. This room was spacious unlike that underground city.

"Omg were actually Divine Knights." Said Kariah holding up her new Divine Knight cloak. "I still can't believe it."

"I knew you could do it." Iris was sitting on a desk. "You've worked hard."

"So what now?" Asked Kaden. He was at a table playing cards with Monty, Ahrulius and Kyanè.

Iris and Alucard looked at Kariah-Belle. Iris had pulled her aside after the ranking ceremony. He spoke of keeping Kariah-Belle from giving her life to stop the Titans.

"We wait a few days." Said Alucard. "If Kariah-Belle still feels up to giving her life for the mortal race then we act. For now enjoy your time. Explore new planets. Get stronger."

The room was silent.

Alucard broke it. "As much as I've enjoyed my time with you all, I must be on my way. Ahrulius."

The winter fae put down his cards and stood. "Right lord Alucard."

"Aw leaving already?" Said Kariah to Ahrulius.

The fae smiled. "I have to study the tablet that warns of the Titan. Don't worry I'll be sure to stop by once I get a chance."

"Okay, have fun." Riah told him smiling.

With that the Vympiri and the winter fae showed themselves out.

Aya and Akio looked at Kariah.

"What?" She questioned.

"You're crushing." Akio said plainly.

"Definitely." Added Kaden as he placed down a card. Monty glared at Kaden who grinned.

"Is it that obvious?" Riah chuckled nervously.

"Somewhat." Aya responded.

"I cant help it. He makes me feel a type of way."

"Ah young love." Spoke Van.

The sun had risen. Aya was walking the massive city. The sky was clear and the sun beaming. It felt good to be above ground.

The group was sight seeing. The buildings were beautiful. The sun reflected off them giving them a orange hue.

Trees and plant life decorated the city beautifully. Apparently all cityscapes built by the Galactic Order were built gorgeously.

"Omg look at that dress!" Squealed Riah.

"Do you like?" Said the shop keeper. "Its on the house for you Starblade."

"Really? Are you sure?"she asked uncertainly.

"Of course. You brave soul it's the least I can do."

"Alright!" Exclaimed Kariah-Belle. "A girl could get use to this."

Aya watched the brown skinned woman. She felt a pain at the thought of losing her. Aya had long since decided she would protect Kariah-Belle. Now her she was powerless to stop her from giving her life.

Frustrating.
