Knight of Shadow is an honorary title for the most elite within the select Shadow Guard; in fact, a Knight of Shadow's main objectives are preforming/preventing assassinations, investigating corruption and protecting the members of the Shadow Guard as well as the families of said members. The Shadow Guard is a group of warriors chosen to be the Governor's Honor Guard. Each position in the Shadow Guard can be inherited if proven to be worthy. Due to a Knight coup, the Shadow Gaurd was officially disbanded and in effect so were the Knights of Shadows.

Some people have asked about the armour and weapons of the knights so I will explain in more detail here. They wear STF Kulvor full body armuor (excluding helmets which would be a hindrance in combat), carry a carbon steel sword that could be from 1ft to 2.5ft, and on special events, they wear a silk cape. Other weapons are not distinctive weapons of a knight.

So recently decided to use the location and name of a real island off the coast of Italy to explain the Italian Mafia involvement. This said I may not be using the accurate political and geographical information for the island. Please remember this is a fiction book which explains the nonfactual elements.
