4) Confrontation
Back to current events
*****************************************
Micheal and Titus walk out the door of the bar pissed. As they expect their decoys attract the other two bounty hunters who were betting them senseless. Titus shrugs and keeps walking.
Ain't my problem. I paid them.
Micheal slowly approaches the bounty hunters. Pulling his sword in front of the neck of one and a .45 caliber pistol on the other.
"Morning, shit brains! Let me guess, you were looking for The Knight of Shadows aka Sir Micheal? They aren't it! You really think you would be able to just kick The Knight of Shadows around?!" he annoyingly asks. Micheal is slightly enjoying himself.
"Typical Micheal!" Titus says out load more to himself than anyone.
"Uh .. on second thought I don't think this job was a good idea." the guy with a .45 pistol at his head sheepishly says.
"Drop all your weapons! Go inside the bar and tell Mike to throw your sorry asses in the basement!" Micheal demands with amusement but becomes disappointed they gave up so easily.
They drop two 9mm pistols and a knife.
WOW, Really! Rookies.
Micheal hops in the passenger side of the convertible green Jaguar. Titus speeds down the road past red lights and making sharp turns nearly hitting oncoming traffic. They approach the office that Lord Crewe is using to campaign for the governorship.
"Park on the other side of the street in case someone decides to jump." Micheal tells Titus.
Sir Micheal and Lord Titus walk toward the door of an office building. Upon entering they are greeted by a door boy.
"Morning, Lord Titus and Sir Micheal! May I help you?" he asks with the hope of making a few bucks.
"Yeah, where the hell is Lord Crewe's office exactly?" Lord Titus half shouts.
"Oh it's on floor 15 it's the only one there. There are guards carrying 9mms. Five I think ... no six."
Sir Micheal drops 12 pure gold coins into the boy's hands. The knights enter the elevator but they are unaware that the desk clerk has alerted Lord Crewe of their presence. The elevator pushes them upward making them feel slightly heavier, then it slows down rising past floor 15 and back down with a sharp ding. The doors open and there are six 9mm pistols pointed at them.
"Keep your hands up! Lord Crewe will see you in his office." The leader says pointing at the door on the other end of the hall.
None approach them to grab their weapons, as they fear it might be the very thing that Sir Micheal or Lord Titus would want. They all stay behind pointing the guns at their heads. Sir Micheal and Lord Titus enter the enormous and luxurious office. Both notice the pictures of Lord Crewe everywhere, some with his allies others with family or friends. There was also a 6 foot tall window overlooking the city.
"Morning gentlemen," in walks Lord Crewe dressed in a lounging robe and drinking his scotch, "How may I help you?" Lord Crewe has this unforgettably slight Italian-American accent.
"You can start by telling us why two groups of bounty hunters were looking for my brother?!" Lord Titus demands more than asks.
"I wouldn't have an idea how this is of concern to me?" Lord Crewe shrugs sipping his Scotch.
"Don't play dumb, two of your bounty hunters told us you were looking for The Knight of Shadows and named me as the one to look for!" Sir Micheal gets impatient with Lord Crewe's attempts to avoid the blame.
"They could have been paid by my opponents to the governorship!" Crewe tries sounding offended.
"That's it!" Titus tries to lunge forward but is held by three guards.
"So maybe I suggested the idea. It will not matter when you're dead though. Take care of them." Lord Crewe laughs as he pours another glass of Scotch.
Micheal notices shadows moving and so does Titus. The office door opens and M16 safeties click. A man enters clicking his tongue.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you, Crewe boy!" the mystery man says with a thick Belgian accent.
"Mr. Stefan, what do I owe the honor?" Crewe asks with a hint of fear he fails to hide.
"Well, you do owe but it isn't honor! I'll give you two options to make your gambling debt disappear. The first you pay me my fucking money, or two you let these men go! It's your choice!" Boss Stefan smirks knowing Crewe doesn't have the money.
That meant either Crewe would die a very unpleasant death or that Lord Titus and Sir Micheal would be left alone.
"Let them go." Lord Crewe says knowing he doesn't have money to pay his outrageous gambling debt.
"Nice doing business. Come by the casino sometime." teases Stefan.
The guards let Micheal and Titus go. Then a man runs into the room with a revolver. Stefan spin kicks him causing the man to fall out the glass window and slam onto the roof of a black Chrysler 300.
"Is that your car, Crewe boy?" Stefan smiles wide.
"It's my wife's!" Crewe's rage is noticeable but he dares not make a move.
"Send my apologies." Stefan buttons his suit.
"That was my accountant!" Lord Crewe shouts in anger.
"Well, that was one Hell of a downsize for him!" Micheal wisecracks.
Stefan's men shot all the guards as he, Sir Micheal and Lord Titus enter the elevator.
