It was the start of sophomore year, and Karina's sister just entered highschool, and she insisted on meeting her sisters classmates.

Karina:(enters with Mabel) hey everyone, I'd like you all to meet my little sister, Mabel.

Keith:not to be rude or anything but, why isn't she black?

Imogen:(smacks him upside the head) Keith!

Mabel:it's OK, I get that a lot, even from our brothers when they were little.

Karina:she has a pigment mutation that made her skin lighter, but we don't mind, it comes in handy whenever my parents have a racist client. Anyway Mabel wants to be a Marine biologist.

Sebastian:hey, just like me.

Mabel: really? Could you tutor me in biology? PHE also, I hate those two subjects, which is weird since I love aquatic animals.

Sebastian: I've never tutored before, but sure I'll give it a try.

Mabel: thanks, can we start after school at my place? My mom was planning to get our neighbour to teach me, but she's a little, eccentric.

Karina:and by that she means she's batshit crazy.

Mabel:true.

Sebastian: okay I guess.

Karen:(looks at Sebastian) {did he just ditch me for someone else?}

Sebastian:(feels her glare) oh! Sorry Karen and I-

Karen: it's fine! We can go tomorrow,I have to sign up for the school newspaper anyway.

Mabel:{I smell a jelly bean, time to play matchmaker} thanks Sebastian (winks and leaves)

Karina:(follows her out) what's your game Mabel Ann Norman?

Mabel: whatever do you mean Karina Grace Norman?

Karina: don't play dumb I saw what did back there.

Mabel:fine, so I'm playing matchmaker, big deal.

Karina:mom said you can have a boyfriend once you're in highschool, Karen can be a bit prickly, be careful or else you won't get to have a boyfriend of your own.

Mabel:(mumbles) way ahead of you sis.

Karina:what was that?

Mabel:I said chillax sis. Besides it's not like she's gonna get a restraining order against me, I'll get her to think I like Sebastian then push her to confess to avoid losing her chances.

Karina:so basically you're gonna act like an innocent bitch, not that you've ever been anything but that.

Mabel:and where do you think I learnt that?(leaves) (gets a call) you've got some nerve calling me after taking off and not telling me Dylan.

Dylan: sorry babe, my dad had to arrange a last minute family trip to go see my grandfather, but I'll be back in about a month. Forgive me?

Mabel: you wish, you better make it up to me when you get back(cuts the call) now to start highschool, and my schemes.

Lunchtime

Karen was reviewing for a French test she had after lunch when Samantha and Imogen came up to her.

Samantha:hey Imogen, did you notice Karen looked a little green today?

Imogen:yeah, almost like a green jelly bean. Let's call it, Kelly Karen.

Karen: vous etes ne serieux pas, I mean, you guys can't be serious.

Imogen: come on Karen, we all saw how mad you got when Sebastian ditched you for Mabel, just tell him already.

Samantha:yeah, I told Samuel and look how we turned out.

Karen: that's because Samuel knew you liked you a long time before you confessed, even my brothers knew and they don't even go to Kyushi middle school. Besides we've been best friends since I moved here in fourth grade, I don't wanna ruin that, now if you'll excuse me, I have a French test to write, auvoir (leaves)

Two days later

Karen came to class wet.

Samuel:what waterbody did you fall into? Kyushi central dam?

Everyone laughs.

Karen:hahaha, if you're asking what happened it was Mabel! She offered me a perfume yesterday as a friendship start. I sprayed it this morning, and turns it's made of honey, squirrel fur and wet dog! I was being chased by like, 12 dogs, I had to jump into a nearby lake to wash it off!

Karina:sorry about that, my sister's always been a prankster at heart (hands her some spare clothes) I'm pretty sure your spares were also wet.

Karen:no Kidding (takes it) thanks.

Lunchtime

Mabel was by her locker when she saw Karen coming her way.

Mabel:{seems she used the perfume earlier than I thought, time to rile her up, this is gonna be fun} hey Karen-

Karen:(slams her on the lockers) you little bitch! You tricked me! I don't know what your plans are, but stay away from Sebastian, or else!

Mabel:(smiles mockingly) else what? What're you gonna do? Go call your mom to sew me?(laughs)

Karen:(blinded by rage) IF I SEE YOU ACTING IN A WAY I DON'T LIKE AROUND HIM I SWEAR ILL KILL YOU AND DUMP YOU'RE BODY IN AN ALLEYWAY! GOT IT?!(stomps away)

Little did she know that her words would soon come and bite her in the ass.

A week later

Karina:(bursts into class) WHERE IS SHE? YOU BITCH IM GONNA KILL YOU!(slaps her)

Karen:(steps back) what the hell? What's your problem?

Karina:oh don't act so innocent! I know my sister was being a flirt, but did you have to try and kill her?!

Everyone looks at Karen in shock.

Karen:what?! I know I said stuff but I was mad, but I can barely kill a mouse let Alone a person.

Karina:stop pretending, a lot of people heard you when you threatened her! And last night, she was found bleeding to death in an alleyway!

Karen;(shocked) but I didn't do anything!

Karina: tell it to a judge murderer!

Suddenly police enter the room.

Policeman 1: where's the suspect miss?

Sebastian:me.

Karina:what?

Karen: what?

Samantha:say what?

Samuel: the hell?

Sebastian: I was with Mabel last night.

Shawn: officer please if you just holding on, I can prove that he's innocent.

Policeman 1: that's gonna be hard since he already owned up,cbut alright.

Shawn: Karina, what street was the alley?

Karina: star street on Leicester avenue.

Shawn:(searches street cameras) what?!

The footage from a camera of a nearby shop showed Sebastian and Mabel enter an alleyway, a few minutes later Sebastian runs out. The policeman takes him away. Karen pleads with the other policeman.

Karen:but he's innocent!

Karina:yeah, he's probably her accomplice!

Karen:for the last time I didn't do anything!

Christopher: Karina, I don't think Karen's capable of killing someone, even out of jealousy.

Karina:oh so you're siding with her? When I need your support most is when you turn on me? Incredible!

Samuel:look officer, despite whatever that footage says, Sebastian could never do such a thing.

Policeman 2: and I believe you.

Samuel:I know the footage is contradictory but- wait you believe me?

Policeman 2: when we got to the hospital, it seemed she had been stoned with a knife, the angle of the would suggests that the person was above her, most likely left-handed.

And the depth showed the culprit isn't very strong. However unless you can get solid evidence in two weeks time, after which he'll be taken to court,he may be sentenced with a minimum of 7 years for attempted murder, whether it was intended or not will also determine his sentence. Karen:(slaps Karina) this is all your fault!

Karina: I'm not the one who tried to murder a girl just cause I was jealous!

Christopher: will you two cut it out?

Karina: stay out of this Chris!

Christopher: you're being irrational about this!

Karina: you're calling me irrational? She's the crazy one here.

Christopher: KARINA!  Shut the hell up!

Karina:(taken aback)

Christopher:(realises what he's done) Karina I-

Karina:save it! Since you're so Adamant on defending her, why don't you date her instead!(takes of the necklace he gave her and shoves it in her bag and leaves).

Karen:(crying) I'm sorry Chris,cthis is all my fault.

Christopher: Don't worry, she's just mad and worried, if it was really over, she would've flung the necklace in my face.

Steven: we'll prove your innocence, both of you, but who would want to organise such an accusation.

Imogen:a very false accusation.

Shawn: whoever it is, we'll figure it out.
