Caroline's POV-

I question Kol for ages in the car before he finally gives in, he says it feels different with Bonnie, that he always wants to be around her he loves the fact that she's a witch that she's powerful in her own right. He's almost gushing and both me and Klaus tease him mercilessly, he just smiles through it and I can tell he thinks it's worth it.

We discuss him coming over at the weekend to help me move the boxes out of my house so that I can properly move into Klaus's, Kol agree's to help and we talk about training some more, even Kol has to admit that although he's got experiencing fighting wolves he has none fighting as a wolf and Nik will have to train with me.

Nik of course is all too happy to help he even suggests getting Elijah to help me with my defensive training and how to hear and feel attackers before they attack.

"Why can't either of you help me with that?" I ask confused.

"We both do it instinctively, Nik more so than me he's had that one eye behind his back thing going on since before we were turned, I could probably break it down for you to a basic degree but Elijah will be able to help you master it, he's a lot better at explaining instincts." Kol explains.

I soothe Klaus when he stiffens minutely and the tension automatically leaves him, I tell Kol about Christmas as a big family and he gets automatically excited planning gifts aloud as the idea's strike him.

"It's Klaus's birthday first though." I say with a secret grin as the hybrid next to me rolls his eyes.

"Oh yes how could I forget." Herubs his hands together in anticipation

The journey starts with everyone full of excitement and eager to get home, it's about four hours in that we start to get restless the car is running low on fuel and all of us are stiff and hungry.

We stop at a gas station to get food and refuel as Kol irritates Elijah, and Rebekah and Bonnie pick up armfuls of magazines, I on the other hand am pleading with Klaus to no end.

"Just let me drive Nik pleaseeee, you've got to be bored by now and we still have a long way to go." whine as he fills the car.

"You forget that I've witnessed your driving love." He grins back shamelessly.

"Come on, don't you want your mate to be alive, because I will die of boredom if I don't do something." I whine petulantly.

"I'll agree on one condition..." He starts with a wicked smirk.

"Go for it." I grin back.

"You get Elijah to come in the car with us." He finishes refueling setting everything back to ins rightful places.

"Done!" I smirk walking of to find him.

It doesn't take me long, he's waiting for a cup of coffee to brew inside the station and tapping something impatiently on his phone.

"Ah Caroline would you like one." He gestures to the cup that's filling.

"I'm fine thank you, although I was wondering if maybe you'd like to come with me and Klaus for the next couple of hours, it'd be nice to have your company." I say honestly.

"As much as I'd enjoy that, I have to drive the other vehicle Rebekah detests driving for long journeys." He gives a grimace as he tries his coffee, adding some creamer.

"Oh that's no problem, Bonnie is an awesome driver or if she's tired I'm sure Kol would be willing. So it's all squared I'll see you at the car." I give him a blinding smile before running off to find Bonnie and Kol.

"Bon how do you feel about a bit of driving?" I ask when I find her picking out sweets, with Kol mysteriously lurking near the milk he has no intention of buying.

"Oh I'd love to, but Elijah doesn't seem inclined to share, I'm getting bored and the magazines will only last for so long." she gives a smile handing me some chocolate, I decide to grab some of the sour sweets I know Klaus likes while I'm there and before I know it my arms are full of goods.

"Elijah has already agreed, and I'm driving Klaus's car we can race!!" I squeal excited as Bonnie lets out an excited whoop.

We grab our bags of sweets and head back to the cars, I smirk at Klaus in triumph as I hand him the bag overflowing with sweets.

"Elijah agreed, get ready to ride shotgun." I say extremely pleased with myself.

He shrugs giving Elijah a malicious little smile, I wave at Kol and he motions to Bonnie's car with a wiggle of his eyebrows. I roll my eyes but say nothing as we all clamber into Klaus's, Klaus makes a point of putting on his seatbelt with a loud click and Elijah frowns at him concerned.

I ignore them both as I plug in my recovered phone, Klaus had found it with my daylight ring and handbag and Elijah had safely returned them yesterday when we were settled last night.

Picking one of my favourite playlists I get my sat nav set up, saluting Bonnie who looks all too happy with the situation I take off. It doesn't take long to get us back on the interstate and I love the freedom once we get there, I hum along to the music happily as Bonnie comes up beside me.

My phone starts ringing and I look at it grinning in anticipation.

"Can you grab it for me?" I ask a grinning Klaus.

He picks it up and answers it putting it on speaker for me.

"Hello Caroline, it's Beckah Bonnie wants to talk to you." She says happily.

"Perfect." I smile wickedly, having an inkling of where this is going.

"Care, how about mile marker 75?" She says mischievously.

"You're on!!!" I shout with a laugh cranking the music as I take off.

"Erm Caroline, that doesn't mean what I think it means do I???" Elijah says from the backseat as he slams into the door behind Klaus.

I see him buckling up his seatbelt hastily when I dip between two trucks.

"I assure you brother it does." Klaus grins over his seat, as he grips the door handle to stop him from flying into me.

"Oh come on Bonnie!" I shout as I get stuck momentarily behind a truck and she shoots by.

I brake hard and feel something hit the back of my seat but I ignore it as I finally get a gap, it's two miles later that i finally overtake her blocking her behind a minivan and laughing in glee as I stay ahead of her.

I can see the mile marker coming up and I floor it, jumping across lanes to stop Bonnie coming up behind me. Only she nearly rams a minivan which brakes hard and she swoops in catching up, we're neck and neck as we approach the marker and both of us are clearly flooring it we hit the marker and I can't tell who won.

"Call her!" I bark out to Klaus who's looking gleefully at Elijah in the backseat.

Klaus grabs the phone with a roll of his eyes before dialling.

"Ah Beckah Caroline wants to talk to Bonnie, put it on speaker would you sister." He greets all British charm.

"I totally edged you out care!!!!" She screams at me.

"Not on your life Bennet!" I growl back.

"Fine rematch, and don't try to stonewall me behind a soccer mum this time!!!!!" She shouts angrily and I can hear Kol laughing in the background as Rebekah starts to protest loudly.

"If you can't overtake a soccer mum then we really have a problem!" I snarl as she shouts another mile marker and Rebekah obviously hangs up.

"I'll show you, edging me out." I snarl murderously under my breath.

"Caroline I think you should pull over." Elijah says from the back seat and I don't know weather it's just me or if he sounds a bit distressed.

This is brilliant love, Elijah looks seconds away from being ill right in the backseat Klaus snickers in obvious mirth.

Why on earth would he be ill? I think focused on not hitting a motorbike that seemingly comes from no where.

I told you sweetheart you're driving is completely and utterly mental he thinks back rather smug.

"You are so overreacting, Elijah you're fine aren't you?" I ask sneaking a look in the mirror to check on him, he does look rather green.

"I am not at all comfortable with your driving Caroline." He grates back.

"I'm nearly winning don't worry, I'll slow down as soon as I beat Bonnie." I grin back.

"Niklaus you cannot let her continue." He says clearly nauseous.

"I don't let Caroline do anything brother, as you well know." He laughs back.

His laughter only escalates as I make a particularly risky overtake, soon enough me and Bonnie are neck and neck again, I'm winning and just about to cheer in triumph when something smashes into the windscreen flustering me. Elijah swears and the shock of it nearly makes me crash into the car next to me, instead I pull into the next lay by to discover what hit me.

'Oh no that poor bird' I gasp in shock as I see the feathers all over the car bonnet.

Elijah flashes out of the car and grabs the keys from me glaring, I feel like I'm having a déjà vu moment from Klaus the other day.

"It would have been a quick death love' Klaus says grinning and taking the keys Elijah hands him angrily.

'I've never hit anything before, but it just flew into me" I mutter as Bonnie pulls up.

"I hit a bird!" I cry as she jumps out of the car.

"Oh no I'm so sorry!" Bonnie frowns back running over to give me a hug.

"One minute you two are growling and threatening each other, and the next you're hugging over a dead bird." Kol says perplexed.

Elijah flashes over to Bonnie grabbing her keys as well frowning at her in disappointment.

"I think it's clear neither of you can be allowed to drive ever again." Elijah says straightening his tie in approval.

"It was a little race, you're acting like we hit things." Bonnie sighs in exasperation.

"What I want to know is where on earth did you learn to race like that, you both live in mystic falls?" Rebekah asks frowning as she pretends to straighten her skirt.

"Exactly we live in the middle of nowhere." I say puzzled.

Klaus laughs when I pout in disappointment for being denied the keys, we all clamber into the respective cars with both Rebekah and Elijah refusing to get in the car with either me or Bonnie.

That leaves Kol, Bonnie, Me and Klaus in one car and the other two mopey originals in the other car. Surprisingly we have a good time, Klaus is a tad frosty with Bonnie but other that that the journey is rather comfortable. We demolish the snacks and I was right about Klaus loving the ridiculously sour sweets.

I'm getting more and more tired and we're still a good three hours out, Bonnie has been asleep for a good hour and Kol has been dozing. I can't make myself nap knowing that Klaus has been driving for so long, I probe the bond but I can't feel any tiredness from him the most I can feel is boredom.

Sleep sweetheart I know you're tired He says tenderly.

I can't sleep I have to entertain you I joke reaching over to take his hand linking them, He brings them to his mouth kissing the back of my hand before settling them in his lap.

I'm fine love I've driven far longer, your strength is automatic with your age your endurance you have to learn it'll take time to teach your body how to use the power it has. That's why so many older vampires have been taken down by younger ones, they never learnt how to process the power that they have he thinks back squeezing my hand.

But I'll learn, I have you to help me, I can start now by staying awake I squeeze back.

You just stayed awake for two days straight love, it'll get easier but for now just rest. Trust me it won't come overnight he sends love through the bond with his words.

"let's play i-spy." I say sitting up to grab some water.

"Sleep sweetheart, you don't have to entertain me." He grumbles amused.

"I spy with my little eye..." I start grinning when Klaus groans in defeat.
