Dance with me
"I said three, Keith. Again."
Keith groaned and for about the fiftieth time that day started his new routine over from the beginning.
His instructor, Lance McClain, had been giving him the difficult pieces since the day he walked through the door, and expected nothing but perfection from him.
Keith did the piece with absolutely no mistakes, and yet Lance still sighed and walked to Keith.
"Your posture is weak. Here," lance stood behind Keith, gently pushing his back to make him stand perfectly straight.
He then moved Keith's arms and legs to be in first position. He then backed away.
"Again."
Keith only sighed and did the routine again.
Lance nodded. "Better, but you lose your posture after your jump at the end. Again."
Keith groaned. "Why are you so hard on me?! There's twenty other dancers you teach and yet I always get the difficult routines! Why do you hate me?!"
Lance sighed and walked to Keith. "I don't hate you,"
He lifted Keith's chin to look him in the eyes, standing only a few inches from him. "Quite the contrary actually."
Keith blushed and pulled away, stammering and stuttering before the alarm went off for his practice to be over.
"See ya Monday." He said before grabbing his bag and walking out of the studio.
Keith hated how hard lance was on him, but he didn't hate lance. Lance was the only reason he stayed in dance, he wanted to see him.
~Timeskip to Monday~
Keith was having a rough day. He hadn't had any coffee, had left his wallet and phone at home, gotten a flat tire, and was late for his practice.
"You're late, Keith." Lance scolded when Keith walked through the door, but he was given no response.
Keith's dancing was sloppy, his posture weak and his movements stiff and forced. Lance knew something was up so he stopped the music and walked over to Keith.
"What's gotten into you today? Did something happen? If something is bothering you then you can go home." Lance assured, resting a hand on Keith's shoulder.
Keith sighed before softly kissing lance and pulling away quickly. "I'm sorry.." he began to walk towards the door before he was grabbed by the shoulder and pushed up against the wall.
"Don't you ever apologize for showing emotion, Keith." Lance returned the kiss and smiled softly when Keith kissed back. "A good dancer isn't afraid to show their emotions."
"Why are you so hard on me?" Keith asked, looking lance in the eyes.
Lance sighed "because I know how much you want to be perfect, and I'd do anything to see that smile of yours." Lance smiled softly as Keith blushed.
Keith soon hugged lance and smiled softly. "Today has been rough." He chuckled lightly. Lance smiled at him.
"How about we go grab some coffee? You look absolutely exhausted." Lance chuckled as Keith nodded vigorously.
"Ummm, lance?" Keith asked. Lance looked at him. "I don't have my wallet with me.." Keith blushed in embarrassment.
Lance only smiled "my treat." He gave Keith a quick kiss on his cheek before walking to the door with perfect posture. "Ready to go?"
Keith nodded and followed lance to his car. Lance drove to a café down the street and the pair spent the entire day chatting with each other.
Soon lance decided that him and Keith should try out a more serious relationship, like dating.
Keith was hesitant at first, but agreed to it. The two ended up happily married within the next few years, and Keith started helping lance run the dance studio.
