Keith POV:

I figured I should check in on everyone and let Shiro know of my recent missions. I sighed sitting down in a chair and sliding closed to the panel and making the call.

It was answered but everyone stood in the room looking very solemn. "What's going on? You all look like someone died." I chuckled lightly hoping to give off a better mood than what I was receiving.

"Keith, there was an incident..." Shiro began looking down as he spoke.

"No ones hurt, right? Wait, where's Lance!" I began to panic looking at all the faces, all but one.

"He was... he was captured on our last mission." Shiro said sadly.

"Well then what are you doing just standing there!?" I yelled jumping up from my seat and slamming my hands down on the panel angrily. "Why aren't you idjit's thinking of a plan to get him back!"

"Keith," Shiro spoke quietly and sympathetically, "it isn't that simple."

"Of course it is! We fly in there and get him back!" I emphasized each word showing the urgency that wasn't seeming to get through their heads.

"Keith we have the coordinates of the ship but with no one to pilot the red lion, we can't form Voltron. Not to mention, we don't know what kind of situation we're getting into." Pidge explained.

I furrowed my eyebrows angrily. "Does that really matter? This is Lance! Our teammate!"

"We know Keith but-" Shiro started.

"-No! Send me the coordinates." I demanded.

"You can't go in there alone, Keith." Shiro leaned forward.

"And I won't, I'll bring along fellow Blade of Memora. One more ship won't kill us."

Shiro stood for a moment thinking. His face was hard and emotionless. "No..., I'm sorry Keith." And with that, he reached forward and ended the call.

"Damn it!" Yelled punching the screen. It didn't do any damage as it would take a weapon to do so. I then huffed taking in deep breaths before plopping down into the chair and rapidly typing away.

I hacked into the castles system. I've learned a thing or two from watching Pidge, not to mention I saw her create the code for the backup system to prevent hacking. I could see what was on the screen they were looking at currently and I saw the coordinates. I quickly jotted them down but the screen glitched and blackened. Pidge must've caught it and kicked me out. But it doesn't matter, I have what I need.

I ran to a pod and input the coordinates. I could make it there in merely 33 minutes at the least. Though if I tried hard enough I could possibly make it in 20. I took off gliding through the void at the maximum speed the pod would go.

Time passed and I could see the large Galra ship, mine was an ant compared to it. I made it past without being spotted and snuck onto the ship.

Lance POV:

I sat in the corner of my cell. I had my knees to my chest with my face buried in crossed arms. I let myself get caught and now I'll die here. I'm going to die here and never see my family again. No one has come for me, its been days at least.

'They probably aren't coming, they probably already have someone to replace you.' A small voice in my head echoed causing tears to prick the corners of my eyes.

"No, I'm not going to die in here." I jumped up and ran to the edge of the bars. Electricity flowed trough them glowing a typical Galra purple. I scanned the room carefully. There was two taser sticks propped up against the wall. On the far side of the room was the buttons to shut off the flow of power and unlock the cage.

I carefully reached through not to touch the bars and barely grabbed the first taser using it to knock over the second so I could reach it. I pulled them back in and thought about my next move.

I pulled off my jacket using it to bind the two sticks together making it longer. I used it to reach for the button but it wasn't quite long enough. I just need one more inch, but if I got any closer, I'd be electrocuted.

I took a deep breath and lunged forward pressing the button as 800 volts of electricity ran through my body. I screamed in agony which faded as the electricity stopped. I huffed laying on the ground. My head pounded, body ached, and vision blurred. I was sure I was going to pass out but I shook it off slowly making my way out into the room. I grabbed my jacket and stood up reluctantly.

I limped to the door but before I could open it, someone else did. I moved back not even having the energy to fight but was surprised not to see a Galra soldier but instead Keith.

Keith's eyes widened and he pulled me in a hug. I have never been more happy to see that mullet in my life. I flinched and almost lost all capability to stand up then and there. He pulled back realizing that it hurt me and glanced at my condition.

"What happened? What did they do to you?" He demanded.

"Nothing, yet. This was on me. If only you got here a bit sooner, breaking out wasn't exactly a breeze."

"Lance... I-" footsteps were heard down the hall and I looked at him hoping he had some sort of a plan. "Can you run?"

"I can barely walk." I sighed. "Leave me here. Get yourself to safety."

"As if." Keith breathed. He moved forward and picked me up bridal style.

"Keith! What are you-?" I began clinging to him as he took off running.

"Shut up and hold on."

We made it to his pod and he practically threw me in and got in the pilots chair. He flew us out swift and quickly.

Keith was focused ahead on flying as the ship shrank behind us.

"Keith... thank you." I said quietly.

He shifted a slightly but didn't tear his eyes away from flying. "Don't mention it. You're my teammate."

I looked down for a moment walking up next to his chair. "Where are the others?"

"They're um, it's just me right now. They were still thinking of a plan when I found out today." Keith shifted in his seat.

"They weren't coming." I said sadly.

"Yes they were, Lance. You just had to give them time."

"You found out today and jumped in saving me." I stood next to his chair looking at his face. His gorgeous violet eyes were like orbs.

"Yeah, but I'm the reckless hothead, remember?" He raised and eyebrow and glanced at me before quickly turning back.

Why won't he look at me?

"It's a damn good thing too or I could be dead." I smiled.

Keith chuckled lightly causing small butterflies in my stomach. He landed the pod in the BOM ship and began shutting everything off. "We'll take a different pod to the castle of lions, this one needs to be refueled."

Before he could leave I stepped in front of him.

"Lance-?" He began.

"C-can I kiss you?" I asked staring at his eyes again.

"I-um, uh, y-yes." Keith stuttered taking a step forward.

My hand rested underneath his chin while the other wrapped around the boy. Our lips lightly touched at first before Keith leaned forward more stealing the kiss.

It lasted a bit, his hands found my hips as mine rested on his jaw and back. It was glorious, I had a small fist bump in the air in my head.

We eventually parted slowly and smiles formed on both our faces.

"Can we do that all the time?" I asked exasperatedly.

"Like?" He began.

"Like, will you be my boyfriend?"

"Y-yes." Keith said quiet and awkwardly. He rubbed his neck bashfully and turned around to exit the ship.

I smiled widely. He gets so embarrassed and I love it. I did a small dance before following him out.

Keith was typing on a computer at a quick pace. Although he looked serious, he had red cheeks.

I leaned against him a bit watching what he was typing.

'Request to use pod 42236 to return red paladin to Castle of Lions.'

Before he launched the message I stopped him. "Wait, do you think that maybe... I could stay here for a bit? Just a couple of days?" I asked hopefully.

"Lance, without you, they can't form Voltron."

"I know but they didn't seem to worried about me getting back why should I? And maybe I want to spend a bit of time with my Keithy." I played with his hair my head resting on his shoulder as I spoke.

Keith seemed to think for a moment. "How about you stay here tonight, you look tired. Then tomorrow I'll take you back. Besides, who knows, I could have someone fill in for me on a mission and stay for a bit."

My face lit up and I quickly kissed his cheek. "Thanks." Keith touched his cheek and smiled his beautiful half smile.
