"Lance! Hurry up we need to go soon!" Keith called from the bottom of the stairs. He heard Lance shuffling around upstairs with his suitcase.

"I'm coming don't rush me..." he mumbled but Keith still heard him.

"Okay..." Keith said. Him and Lance had been dating for almost a year now, from last summer and he knew not to rush Lance. But it didn't make him less impatient.

"Lance! We need to be at Pidge's.. everyone is already there."

"Okay okay. Calm down." Lance said as he came down the stairs with two suitcases.

"It's three days Lance." Keith reasoned.

Lance winked at him. "Exactly." He said.

They headed outside and got into Lance's parents minivan. Kevin and Rosa had agreed they could take it for the festival as long as they didn't wreck it. They had also been generous to lend half of the money for Lance's cost for the trip, and so did Sam and Colleen for Pidge and Matt, Zarkon for Lotor, Alfor for Allura, Krolia and James for Keith and Shiro, Corans uncles, Romelle's mom, Hunks parents paid half of his amount and Karin's mother paid half of hers. The other half each of them had to save up which they had been since last fall.

Sam and Colleen had also agreed to lend their car for the trip so everyone could be comfortable in two cars. It was a better plan than crowding in the McClains Chrysler.

They had all wanted to go to the festival and decided to invite some of their friends since they hadn't seen them that often. Pidge hadn't seen Karin since Christmas and though they talked every day they needed to see each other. Lance hadn't seen since he left New York the year before. After sending out invites to everyone and helping keep track with the money the festival had arrived. They had decided on going to the second weekend because the previous weakened Karin was going to spend with her grandmother. 

Now, Karin and Romelle had both flown to Malibu the night before and stayed at  Pidge's before packing for the coachella. And everyone was at the Holt house ready to go. 

Except Keith and Lance. 

"Ugh we are late now. We were supposed to be on ge road by now.." Keith said glancing at his watch. 

Lance glanced at his boyfriend out of the corner of his eye. "I mean technically.." He pointed at the paved road. "We are on the road." 

Keith shook his head but he was smiling. "It shouldn't take too long to get there. Shouldn't be too many red lights." 

There were. Every stop nearly was a red light but finally they reached Pidge and Matt's house. 

Everyone had said goodbye to their families except Pidge and Matt, before heading their because they wouldn't be seeing them for the next three days. It was bittersweet- they would all miss their families but it was super exciting to go to the festival. 

"About time." Pidge said when Lance and Keith entered the house. She was sitting at the marble island in her kitchen. 

The house was crowded. Karin sat next to Pidge at the island, with Sam and Colleen standing in front of the kitchen counter. Shiro, Matt and Coran stood off to the side in a circle talking with their suitcases laid beside them. Lotor stood by Allura's side who was talking animatedly to Romelle who stood there smiling shyly and occasionally speaking. Hunk and Shay were in the living room on the couch talking in hushed voices. 

"Melles!" Lance exclaimed when he spotted her. 

She turned and smiled before rushing into his embrace. "Lance. I missed you so much!" She said hugging him. 

"Of course you did." He smirked. She shook her head and he laughed. "Just kidding, I missed you too." 

Keith had followed him over and stood until they had stopped hugging. "Hi im Keith." He said holding out his hand. 

"Oh don't act all formal on me I know who you are!" She said before pulling him into a hug too. He was stiff in her arms from shock for a good few minutes before hugging her back and relaxing. 

"Okay introductions are done. Let's get a move on. We're all ready late." Pidge announced holding up her phone. 

Romelle let him go and started talking to Lance really fast, Keith felt happy for Lance to see her again. A bad taste in his mouth formed when he remembered how jealous he was when Lance first brought her up. 

Keith started talking to Karin while everyone started packing up the two cars and Matt ad Pidge said bye to their parents. "How is this working?" Karin asked  as they held their suitcases outside of both cars. 

"Um well who wants to be in the van?" Matt asked as he and Pidge came out of the house. 

"I'll be in the van." Lance raised his hand. "I wanna drive." 

"Should you really?..." Keith asked. He was a much better driver than Keith and they all knew it despite the fact that Keith had a knack for speeding. Almost thirty miles per hour over the speed limit. 

"Yes. I wanna drive. Can't have us getting pulled over because of you." Lance laughed wrapping an arm around Keith's shoulder. 

"I guess.." Keith agreed. 

"I'll drive the Toyota." Matt said patting his dad's black car. 

"I'm going in that then." Shiro said. 

"I'll go. With Lotor." Allura said. Lotor nodded. 

"I'll go with Lance and Keith." Romelle offered. 

"Yeah. Melles is definitely coming with us." Lance nodded smiling. 

She smiled back at him. "That leaves 5 seats who else? One seat left in the toyota." Keith said.

"Ill go in the Toyota." Coran said. "I'll stay with Allura." 

"Guess that leaves us." Hunk said gesturing to himself, Shay Pidge and Karin. 

"Well. Let's pack up. We need to get rolling. We really should let Keith drive, we will get their faster." Pidge said. 

Matt frowned. "What about me?" 

"You'll keep up, but no tickets okay?" Shiro said looking at Keith. 

Lance shook his head. "This is what I get for all I've done for you guys.." He mumbled. 

"Sorry babe. Maybe next time." Keith said grabbing his and Lance's bags. 

They packed up both cars and got in. "GPS." Keith said to Lance. 

Lance hooked it up as Keith drove out of the driveway. 

"How far to the hotel?" Pidge asked. She was in the last row with Karin. There was plenty of room and they both had blanket keys for their nap. Hunk sat with Shay in the second row and she was comfortably listen into music occasionally lending Hunk an earbud so he could listen to whatever it was. 

"Only three hours. It's not that far from here." Lance said. 

The hotel was on the edge of Indio California and only thirty minutes or so from the festival site. The first hour of the drive took them through Los Angeles with Matt right behind them the whole time as Keith went exactly 23 above the speed limit the whole time. The limit was 70. 

The first two hours were spent singing along to a bunch of music hand picked by Lance. Pidge had multiple times pointed out the fact that it's drivers choice of music but Keith said it was Lance's van and the fact that Lance was supposed to be driving. Lance took what he could get. 

Karin didn't know any of the songs off than Call me Maybe because she heard it a few times from her English teacher's playlist that would play when they first entered class at her school. After a while she learned to like it and it taught her even more. So she learned the lyrics. 

She was a good singer, not as good as Lance he claimed, and her voice wasn't as smooth as Shay's but  she was good. They all belted out the lyrics as they flew down the highway. 

The second hour took them through Anaheim and Riverside. "One hour left." Keith shouted over Brendon Urie's voice. Lance had out Hey Look Ma I made It on loop despite the fact that Keith had said it wasn't the best song P!atd had. Lance hadn't listened. This was the third time it'd played now. Hunk knew all the lyrics. 

The third hour was quieter, Pidge and Karin had taken it as their napping hour and Hunk and Shay decided to watch Netflix with Pidge's hotspot. 

Lance had the music down low, and it was the radio now. Lance had been singing along to the music, knowing almost every sing that came on and all the lyrics. Keith was impressed and stayed quiet.  

"Can anybody...find me..." The lyrics were soft and the quick piano notes began to play. Lance was silent, he instantly remembered that day in Tokyo when he heard Keith singing it in the shower and how good he had sounded. And how emberessed he had seemed when he knew Lance had heard him. When they weren't dating. 

Keith didn't look at him but he was singing the lyrics under his breath. The tune picked up and he started to sing louder before grinning at Lance. "Oh somebody somebody can anybody find me somebody to love??" He belted. 

He nodded for Lance to sing. "I just gotta get out of this prison cell someday I gotta be free." Lance sang. 

"Find me somebody to love. Find me somebody to love find me somebody to love find me somebody to love." They both chanted bouncing in their seats. 

"Somebody somebody somebody to love." 

"Can anybody find me somebody tooooooo love." Keith sang winking at Lance. 

Lance blushed and laughed, and leaned over to peck Keith on the cheek. They passed through Palm Springs when Hunk and Shay took their earbuds out. "OH wow." Shay said looking out at the palm trees and colorful houses. 

"Yup. Palm Springs." Keith said stopping at a red light. 

"It's so cool here.." Shay said looking out at the little shops. 

The third hour ended and they still had fifteen minutes left until they reached the hotel. "Are we there yet?" Pidge asked as she woke up. 

"No we have a little over fifteen minutes left." Lance said stretching as much as he could in the small passenger seat. 

They finally reached the hotel and everyone got out. Keith cracked his knuckles. "Where's Matt and the others?" 

"There." Karin said pointing to the entrance of the hotel. The Toyota pulled into the lot right next to then van. 

"Woah, this place is super cool." Matt said when they saw the hotel up close. It was probably 5 floors with tall columns holding it up in front of the entrance. A large pool wrapped around the back of it. 

"Yeah." Shiro said pulling out suitcases and handing them to Lotor. 

Lance and Matt went and got some carts for everyone to put their suitcases on before they entered the building. Allura and Coran checked in and got the keys. 

"We have three rooms but I got 12 cards. One for everyone." Allura said holding them up. 

They all headed to the fourth floor where their rooms were. Allura opened one of the rooms. "Those beds are huge." Matt said at the sight of it. They opened all three rooms. 

Each room had two king beds, and the last one had a pull out couch with it. "Yes, we got big beds cause a lot of us are going to be sharing bed. Most of us are dating anyway so it shouldn't be that weird." Allura said. 

Keith ignored the way Lance looked at him at that. 

"So what about me and Coran?" Romelle asked.

"You two can alternate between the bed and the pull out couch in the third room, or simply choose on or the other." Allura said.

"I want the first room." Lance said grabbing Keith's hand. 

"Did I consent?" Keith asked.

"I am your consent." Lance winked. 

"I'm jot staying with those two. I'll stay in the last room with Romelle and Coran." Pidge said looking at Karin. 

"That's fine." Karin said. 

"We'll go with Keith and Lance." Shay said. Hunk nodded. 

"Guess that leaves the four of us to share." Matt said gesturing to Shiro, Lotor and Allura. 

Allura passed out of the cards accordingly. "Go unpack we have to get to the festival soon. And change." 

They all went to their rooms and unpacked. They changed into what they assumed would be fashionable for the coachella and all met up downstairs. 

"Im so excited!!" Romelle said. Her hair was curled and in a loose ponytail down her back. 

"Yeah! I can't wait to see BlackPink perform!" Karin said happily.

"Oh me too. But I also want to see King Princess. I love her so much." Pidge said. 

"I want to see the 1975." Keith said. 

"Same bro." Matt said high fiving. 

"Personally I'm waiting for Childish Gambino." Lotor shrugged. 

"You like Childish Gambino?" Hunk asked. 

"Um. Yes." Lotor said. 

"Wow." Shay said. "I would not expect that."

"I want to see Janelle Monae to be honest." Allura said. 

"Yes I would like to see her too." Coran said. 

"Well we should be leaving soon don't you think?" Shiro asked looking at his watch. 

"Yeah yeah." Lance said pushing past him. 

They switched up the seating and car arrangements a little but arrived at the festival a little after noon. "Woah there's a lot of people." Romelle said when they arrived. 

"Yeah.." Keith said. "There's like four security checks and we have to get bands and all that crap before we can actually get in. And a lot of the people we want to see are going to overlap so we might have to split up." 

"Thats fine I guess. As long as no one is alone out there." Hunk said looking uncertainly at the long lines of people. 

It took them two hours in total to just get through the security checks and to get bands. Then they got food and drinks cause they were all starving, and they started running around mindlessly not knowing here they were going. Around four o'clock, they finally sorted out where they were going. 

"Pidge, King Princess is performing in about fifteen minutes." Shiro told her as she played around with Karin. 

"Oh cool." She said. "Is she overlapping with any of you guy's performers?" 

"Um no." Shiro said. 

"So are you going to come see her with me??" Pidge asked. 

"I'm fine with that." Keith said. "And Lance said he is going everywhere with me.." 

"Yup." Lance said laughing. 

"I'll go." Shiro and Matt said together. In the end, everyone agreed to go see been and after getting gelato from a nearby stand they found themselves in front of the Mohave. There was already a huge crowd of people and more people were coming every second. Bright lights and fog covered the whole stage and the big structure was decorated in big crowns. 

"I'm so excited!!" Pidge yelled over the loud noise of the crowd. 

Keith fidgeted, if he was with anyone else or alone he would be on the edge of breaking down in this crowd. He hated crowds and didn't want to be in the middle of this one. He knew Pidge hated crowds too but she was so excited tags she didn't seem to care. 

"Hey Keith." It was Lance. He felt his way to Keith's hand and held it. "You okay?" 

Keith nodded squeezing Lance's hand. He laid his head on Lance's shoulder. "I'll be fine." 

King Princess walked on stage and the crowd went wild. Pidge started yelling and jumping up and down shoving multiple people around her but she didn't care. 

The electric guitar started up and the crowd went wild. Allura cupped her hands around her mouth and shouted out. King Princess began to sing 1950. 

Keith had never listened to King Princess but knew about her. The song 1950 was catchy and he actually liked it. 

Pidge knew all the lyrics and was singing it to Karin as they swayed to the soft electric beat. Matt was whipping on every base drop and it was pretty cool actually. Keith found himself tapping is foot while he swayed in Lance's arms. 

Soon the song changed to Talia and then the rest of her songs came after that. Keith found himself liking the music and was impressed with King Princess's stage presence.

Soon it was five o'clock and King Princess waved goodbye to her fans and left the stage. Pidge's fave was red from jumping up and down the entire duration of the performance. "That was the greatest moment of my life." She said grinning. 

"That was actually really fun." Keith said nodding. 

"I know you didn't doubt King Princess " Pidge questioned. 

Keith laughed. "Of course not..." 

After that, they wandered around getting he layout of the festival- getting more food and hanging out at random performances. They looked at photo booths and venues and soon knew their way around pretty well. 

It was 8:00 and time for BlackPink to perform. In twenty five minutes, the 1975 would, be performing so Keith, Matt, Shiro and Lance would be leaving then. Coran, Hunk, Shay and Pidge all decided to watch BlackPink perform with Karin. 

They watched as BlackPink got on stage at the Sahara. The beginning notes of Ddu-Ddu began to play and the crowd started to go wild. Everyone was swaying and the energy was definitely there as everyone started screaming. 

Karin was saying all of the words and she had a grin on her face the whole time. 

"Do you know their names?" Romelle asked Lance. 

Lance shrugged. "Um..well not really. I know that one is named Jennie or something right?" 

He was nodding at the girl on stage rapping. Her reddish tinted hair bounced around her head. "Um yeah, but that one over there? Her name is Rose. Don't you think she kind of looks like Karin?" 

The girl in question did look like Karin a lot, and Lance nodded. Karin was too busy rapping Jennie's part to notice them talking about her. 

After Kill this Love and a few more songs, it was time to go see the 1975. Keith, Matt, Lance and Shiro headed to the Coachella Stage. They were a few minutes late, because Lotor told them the wrong time but they made it just as the beginning notes to Its not Living came on. 

Keith immediately started singing the lyrics along with Matt. They danced along to the upbeat song. 

"Collapse my veins wearing beautiful shoes." 

"Its not living if it's not with you! And all I do is sit around and think about you!" They were practically screaming though their voices were drowned out  by the crowd and Keith felt totally comfortable. 

The song changed to Love if we made it and Keith and Matt grinned at each other before belting out the explicit lyrics. "Saying controversial things just for the hell of it!!" They both yelled and ignored their voices cracking."Fuck your feelings." 

"Love if we made it." They sang over and over again. Shiro and Lance were dancing behind them but neither of them were paying attention to them too caught up in the lyrics. 

"Id love it if we made it." They both sang before the bass dropped midnight they wee jumping with the crowd now, and it was like being a part of somethinbigger. A huge united army dancing to the same song. One girl to the left of Keith was dancing and jumping just as much as he was and grinned when she saw him looking at her and he couldn't help but grin aback. For one he saw why Lance loved crowds so much. 

After TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME and a few more songs played, they had to go back and join up with the others. After getting some more food, they all got ready for Janelle Monae's performance. 

"I'm so excited I can't stop smiling." Allura said as they stood outside the CoahellaStage again at 9:45. 

"Me neither." Coran said, his smile just as wide. 

"Let's get ITT!!" Lance exclaimed, causing Lotor and Hunk to raise eyebrows as Janelle Monae walked on stage. 

The stage was red and foggy with Janelle's blue pyramid holding her up over the crowd. Everyone screamed as she appeared in her retro shiny outfit. 

The deep electric beats started up as Django Jane began to play. Allura, Coran, Shay and Keith started singing. 

"Yeah this is my palace." Allura sang at the top of her lungs. 

The complex beat sped up as Janelle strutted across the stage with her microphone. "Look at that I guarantee I got me all quiet. Look at that I guarantee they all inspired." Janelle sang with the crowd. 

The song went on with its explicit lyrics and deep tune until it changed to the deep booming voice. "We hold these truths to be self-evident." As the opening to Crazy, classic Life. 

The crowd went wild as Janelle sang the song. "I just wanna break the rules! O-oh O-oh." 

"I had a crazy classic life. I don't want a diamond ring, I don't want to waste my youth." Allura and Coran sang together. 

After that, Q.U.E.EN, Electric Lady and a few more songs played before it was over. They watched DJ snake perform at the outdoor theater until 11:25 when they headed back to the stage to watch Childish Gambino. 

"We are about to witness awesomeness." Lotor said weaving rough the already rowdy crowd. Donald Glover hadn't even got in the stage and the crowd already rippled with electric energy. 

When he did arrive, the tension broke and the crowd exploded. It was probably the most energetic crowd they'd seen all day. Lotor was grinning and rubbing his hands. 

Feels like Summer was the first song, and the chill beats was relaxing even with the insane crowd. Lotor knew all the lyrics and everyone else knew most of them. 

When it switched to This is America Lotor was even more excited and actually began jumping around with the crowd. Shay and Hunk watched in awe as he totally lost his calm elegant aura. 

When the performance was over, nearly an hour later they al realized how tired they were. 

They grabbed sodas and headed back to their cars before driving back to the hotel. "BEST DAY EVER." Lance exclaimed before collapsing on the bed. 

"Tomorrow is gonna be just as great, if not better." Keith said laying next to him.

"Yup. I can't wait!" Shay said undoing intricate braid. 

"Im so tired though." Hunk said yawning and getting under his covers. 

"Night night y'all." Lance said. 

"Night Lance." Hunk and Shay said together. 

Keith cuddled under Lance. "Night." He said softly.
