everyone had insisted on going swimming on the small lake they had seen upon arriving there. and taehyung who had sweat dripping down his back just as everyone else agreed.

jimin hesitantly stepped into the water, his feet being the only thing underwater.

"hey, jimin, it's not that bad, get in," taehyung encouraged.

"but...it's water. i don't want to get wet," he said.

"trust me, you'll have fun."

jimin sighed before he walked further into the lake where everyone else's was. he shivered, feeling the water nice and refreshing just as the hot scorching sun was bearing down at them.

"tae," yoongi approached taehyung wrapping his arms around his boyfriend from behind.

taehyung turned in his boyfriend's arms to face him. he pressed a kiss to yoongi's lips before yoongi smiled sheepishly and splashed water onto taehyung's face. taehyung yelped before splashing his boyfriend back with water and soon everyone else began to join in the fun and began to splash water on each other, except for jimin.

jimin felt someone flick water in his direction and he turned to find namjoon shirtless. he nervously gulped as namjoon approached him. "have fun with us, jimin," namjoon said.

jimin looked unsure. "i don't know...water isn't really my thing. well actually, it's more of a cat thing."

"water isn't that bad though and i'm sure you'd rather have fun in the water and let it cool you down than sit in the sun all day."

jimin knew namjoon was right. his whole body felt hot against the scorching sun, so with small steps, he walked deeper into the lake until he joined the others. he was immediately splashed water and was about to get out of the lake until he found namjoon's flirty eyes.

jimin smiled before splashing water onto namjoon as well. both him and namjoon kept going back and forth, having fun with one another as jimin forgot his fear of water.

jungkook was having fun in the as well as he splashed everyone with water and then went and hid behind hoseok just as he was going to get splashed some water, but wetting hoseok instead.

by the time they got out of the water, hoseok was wrapping a towel around jungkook who was slightly shivering.

taehyung was laughing at something yoongi said before catching him off guard again and splashing water at him. taehyung was about to splash him back, but yoongi quickly pressed his lips against taehyung's and kissed him.

meanwhile, jimin was shivering since he didn't bring a towel. namjoon noticed and walked over to him without saying anything and wrapped his towel around both of them.

not expecting the gesture, jimin slightly blushed as he felt namjoon's bare chest pressed against his. neither of them said anything, they just simply stared at each other.

everyone else has gotten quiet and were now staring at them, waiting for a kiss or something, but to their disappointment, namjoon turned his head away and they all headed back inside.

jimin was currently in his shared room while holding a picture frame of seokjin in his hands, staring at seokjin's smile with a solemn expression.

everyone has showered after coming back from the lake since the water wasn't exactly clean. they just got in for fun and to cool down for a while.

"taehyung once told me that you fell in love with seokjin," a voice interrupted.

jimin turned to face namjoon who come up behind up and stared at the picture as well.

"yeah, i did," jimin answered as he turned back to the picture. "but he's gone now because of me."

"you shouldn't blame yourself for what happened jimin," said namjoon.

"taehyung's brother could have been here with us today if it weren't for me being so careless. i should have been the one to die."

"jimin, don't say that."

"it's true though,"' said Jimin as he turned to face namjoon again. "i was afraid of falling in love for a while because i didn't want to hurt anyone else until i met you."

namjoon's eyes flickered to jimin. "you love me?"

jimin shook his head. "no, not yet, but i do like you a lot. i have a big crush on you, namjoon, but i'm also afraid to like you more, to fall in love with you. being here in a place where seokjin used to be is bringing back old memories and it's making me scared to love you."

namjoon frowned his arm reaching out to rest on jimin's shoulder. "jimin..."

honestly, namjoon didn't know what to say. he felt the same way jimin did, both of them were afraid to love each other, but for different reasons. jimin didn't want to hurt someone else again and namjoon didn't fall in love with a cat because he thought it was weird.

but neither of them could deny the feeling in their hearts. namjoon's heart always did a thing and jimin's heart was beating rapidly.

namjoon had trailed off, not really knowing what to say. jimin sighed as he placed the picture back down. "i'll go to sleep now. this is supposed to be a short fun trip, but here i am thinking about someone who i used to love, someone who used to walk around these halls and sleep in this exact room."

"you shouldn't dwell too much on the past," namjoon finally spoke up, causing jimin to turn to him again as he was settling himself in bed. "it's true that seokjin is gone, but you have me."

jimin's lips slowly formed into a small smirk. "what are you trying to say kim namjoon?"

namjoon panicked as jimin slowly walked towards him until their chests were touching and jimin's hands wrapped around his neck. "do you feel the same way i do?"

namjoon nervously gulped because he did. he couldn't deny it either because at that moment he suddenly leaned forward and pressed his lips against jimin's catching both of them off guard.

it was a simple and quick kiss, nothing, but a peck. jimin attempted to press their lips together against, but namjoon quickly removed jimin's arms from around him and practically ran out of the room.

jimin sighed as he sat on his bed, rapmon coming over rest his head in jimin's lap. he scratched behind the dog's ears as he felt both scared and heartbroken.

if namjoon kissed me, does me feel the same? but then, why did he run away? is he afraid to love me just as i am afraid to love him?

jimin brought a hand up to his lips where the feeling of namjoon's lips slightly lingered. he turned to seokjin's picture that he put back and in a small voice he said, "sorry for kissing namjoon in front of you. i really like him, but i'm afraid i'll hurt him like i hurt you."
