everyone was pilled inside of taehyung's van, everyone sitting in their respective seats beside their boyfriend and of course, jimin and namjoon were sitting beside each other.

taehyung had turned on the radio and yoongi was obnoxiously singing or more like belting the lyrics from the top of his lungs.

"not shy not me itzy!"

"aren't you singing a little too loud?" jungkook complained as he felt like his ears were about to fall off from how loud yoongi was singing. "i can't even hear myself eating cheeseballs."

"calm down jungkook, we're almost home, so there is no need to get mad at yoongi for yelling out song lyrics," taehyung replied without looking back. his eyes were focused on the road.

jungkook pouted before leaning his head on hoseok's shoulder. he continued munching on his cheeseballs while hoseok played with his boyfriend's hair.

jimin was awkwardly sitting with his hands in his lap as he listened to yoongi sing. it was very hard not to hear him sing when yoongi was belting out the lyrics from the top of his lungs.

beside jimin, namjoon was running his hand down rapmon's fur who was sitting in his lap. they hadn't spoken anything after jimin asked for the orange juice and thanking namjoon, so it was back to being awkward again.

namjoon really wanted to speak to jimin, though. he just didn't know what to say and neither did jimin. they silently sat and listened to yoongi obnoxious singing before they arrived back home about an hour later.

"i can finally hear myself eat cheeseballs!" jungkook answered cheerfully after getting off of the car.

jimin heard yoongi scowl as he collected his bag. beside him, namjoon was trying to get his backpack while struggling to hold rapmon's leash to prevent him from walking any further from him.

sadly, to namjoon's misfortune, rapmon kept pulling on the leash, until it slipped out of namjoon's hands. the dog sprinted away while namjoon chased after him, shooting at rapmon to come back.

"jimin, go help namjoon," said taehyung. "you're the protector of the animals and you need to make sure that rapmon is okay."

jimin's eyes widened in realization. he had completely forgotten about being the protector of the animals. he quickly ran after namjoon who was still shouting at rapmon to come back.

"rapmon!" jimin shouted as well.

namjoon glanced back, surprised to see jimin running after his dog as well, but then quickly shook the thought away as he remembered that his dog was still loose and could potentially get hurt.

"he's over there!" shouted jimin as he pointed in the direction of rapmon. the dog was running down the street ahead of them.

"he's going to get hit!" namjoon yelled in a panic as he noticed that it was a main street with many cars passing by.

jimin closed his eyes while running before letting the sparkly dust engulf him, not caring that anyone would see him. he just wanted to help namjoon get his dog back and keep him safe.

namjoon's eyes widened as jimin had suddenly disappeared, but then glanced down to see the familiar calico cat running.

jimin ran as fast as his cat paws could take him. he took big leaps as his eyes remained focused on the dog ahead of him. he had managed to run past namjoon but was still far from rapmon.

"rapmon!" namjoon shouted in an attempt to get his dog to stop and turn around. to his relief it did work, rapmon stopped running and looked back, but then turned back around continued running after noticing his owner running after him. "rapmon, this isn't a chasing game!"

jimin had managed to run up closer to rapmon thanks to namjoon. rapmon had stopped running for a few seconds which let him catch up to the dog some more.

"rapmon!" jimin heard namjoon shout again.

rapmon just kept on running, not paying attention to his surroundings or the incoming car that was coming towards him as he ran in the middle of the street.

the car honked, startling rapmon and making him stop running. namjoon sighed in relief, but seconds later he was filled with panic again when he noticed that the car was not stopping and that jimin was running across the street towards rapmon.

"jimin!" namjoon shouted in between heavy breaths as he ran.

jimin didn't turn back to namjoon nor did he stop. rapmon was frozen in fear as he stared at the incoming car. jimin hissed when he was not that far away and breaking the dog out of his trance.

jimin hissed again in a threatening matter, attempting to scare off rapmon to run away before the car could hit him.

rapmon flinched before running away from the hissing cat and managed to safely cross the street just seconds before another loud honk was heard and the sound of a cat crying in pain was the only thing namjoon could hear.

"jimin!" namjoon shouted as he spotted the calico cat lying in the middle of the street. namjoon saw the car that hit him drive, not bothering to stop to see if jimin was okay.

rapmon suddenly stopped running as well and turned back to see his owner running in the middle of the street and picking up the cat that hissed at him in his arms. the dog ran back and luckily there weren't any cars coming at him this time. he managed to cross the street safely and stood beside his owner who glanced at him sadly.

"jimin!" namjoon heard taehyung shout before looking back to see that yoongi, hoseok, and jungkook running behind him.

namjoon could feel tears forming in his eyes as he held jimin in his arms. he wasn't moving and namjoon feared that he was dead.

"no jimin!" taehyung cried as he caught up to namjoon, as well as the others, and stared at his best friend through tears.

"jimin?" jungkook asked in a small voice as he also felt his own tears forming in his eyes.

yoongi wrapped his arms around taehyung to stop himself from crying but instead ended up crying with his boyfriend.

"i can check if he's okay," hoseok offered in a gentle voice. "i'm an animal doctor."

a tear slipped out from namjoon's eye as he nodded his head. he carefully passed jimin to hoseok who held him gently like one would do when holding a baby.

they all walked back to the animal shelter since it was the closest place to them. they were all in tears, but taehyung and namjoon cried the most.

rapmon sadly trudged behind namjoon with his head and tail hanging low.
