and i hope you guys noticed that deja vu moment in the last chapter

a blanket was spread over the counter and jimin was placed on it for hoseok to examine.

namjoon was nervously biting his nails, his eyes were teary and bloodshot due to the crying and his cheeks were stained with tear stains.

taehyung was worse. yoongi was holding him close as he sobbed into his boyfriend's chest. yoongi had cried too, but he stopped because he wanted to stay strong for his boyfriend since jimin was his best friend.

"hobi?" jungkook softly called out. the animal doctor raised his head before jungkook continued. "is jiminie okay?"

taehyung pulled away from yoongi's embrace to listen, hoping to hear that everything was going to be okay.

"i don't know, kookie," hoseok replied. "he's alive at least, but he was hit pretty hard and there are scars on him too. i don't even know when he'll wake up."

taehyung let out a choking sob before pulling yoongi close to him and crying into his chest again.

namjoon sat down on the chair beside him and placed his hands in his lap, bringing his face into them and cried again.

a part of him felt guilty since it's jimin's job to keep the animals safe, but it was his dog that jimin went after and saved.

as he cried, namjoon felt rapmon laying his head on his thigh, beside his face. he raised his head and pulled his dog close to him for comfort.

jungkook was back hugging his boyfriend, his arms wrapped around hoseok's waist as he also cried into his back.

they all silently sat together and waited for jimin to wake up. they waited for hours, but jimin hadn't woken up yet.

jungkook wasn't even in the mood to eat cheeseballs or chocolate. yoongi wasn't in the mood to sing song lyrics from the top of his lungs. taehyung wasn't in the mood to do fun stuff with his friends. and namjoon, he wasn't in the mood to call jimin, just a cat. jimin was more than just a cat. he was someone special to him.

hoseok would check up on jimin every half hour or so, to see if there were any signs of him waking up, but to his disappointment and everyone else's, there wasn't.

"it's getting late," taehyung spoke on a hoarse deep voice. "and jimin still hasn't woken up."

"he'll wake up," yoongi reassured as he placed a kiss to his boyfriend's forehead.

"but we have to sleep. what if jimin wakes up while we're gone?"

"someone can watch over him," yoongi said.

"i want to watch over him," taehyung desperately said.

yoongi shook his head. "you can't, you're not even in the right mindset. earlier you told me that it felt like deja vu when jimin was run over by a car trying to save rapmon just as your brother was killed saving jimin."

"i can take care of jimin," said hoseok. "i can check up on him during the night."

"but there are other animals that need your help," said jungkook as he remembered another cat named yeonjun that was injured and needed hoseok's help.

"i can watch him," namjoon spoke up. "i have a feeling that i won't be able to get any sleep tonight anyway and i'd rather lose sleep watching over jimin rather than losing sleep and being worried about him."

taehyung nodded. "okay namjoon, i trust you. please take care of him and call us if he wakes up."

hoseok wrapped the blanket around jimin and carefully handed him to namjoon, once again holding him like a baby as he walked home with rapmon by his side.

rapmon cried when namjoon set jimin down on his couch and unwrapped the blanket from around him in case he moved. the dog went to jimin and gently licked the calico cat's fur, hoping to wake him up.

"we have to wait for him to wake up, monie," namjoon said as he sat on the couch beside jimin.

rapmon gave jimin another lick before laying on the ground beside the couch. namjoon sat facing jimin and watched jimin sleep. his eyes wandered over the cat's fur, noticing the few scratches that hoseok mentioned and even some bruises.

"jimin," namjoon cried. "please wake up, if you do, i promise to kiss you again."

silence.

"i don't know when you became so special to me, but i found out how much you meant to me when you ran in front of that car to save rapmon."

there was more silence as namjoon continued.

"i know you love me and you shouldn't be afraid of it. it's okay to feel something more than just a crush on me. it wasn't your intention to hurt taehyung's brother and i know you won't hurt me."

namjoon gently scooped jimin up in his arms and held him close to him. "if i kiss you now, will you wake up just like in those fairytales?"

jimin didn't answer and namjoon too impatient for jimin to wake up, he leaned his face down to jimin's and pressed a gentle kiss against his forehead.

"you know, i like you- no wait, i love you, actually. i never thought i'd fall for you in the first place because you're a cat, but now, i don't care. i love you jimin and i just wish you'd wake up."

the room was silent again except for the sounds of namjoon's soft cries. a tear fell from his eye and slowly trailed down his cheek and down his jaw before falling on the tip of the cat's nose.

his nose twitched.

namjoon continued to cry, unaware of the small moment of jimin's nose. his shoulders shook as he cried, having lost track of how many times he's cried that day.

the action slightly stirred jimin, but once again, namjoon didn't notice.

"please wake up jimin."

jimin's ear twitched and slowly his eyes opened, having heard something.

rapmon, who was laying on the floor beside the couch, suddenly jolted up. he sniffed the air and immediately turned to see jimin who was now awake in namjoon's arms.

rapmon wagged it's tail excitedly and it's tongue stuck out of its mouth before rushing over to jimin and giving him a lick on his face.

namjoon stopped crying after seeing rapmon lick jimin excitedly. his eyes fluttered down to jimin who now had his eyes open and was staring up at him.

"jimin, you're awake."
