05 | Blame It On The Alcohol
The phone angrily blared throughout the apartment and the sun shone brightly at Jae which disturbed her sleep. Letting out a sigh, she opened her eyes to be greeted by the familiar white ceiling which she could tell that it was definitely not her room. It took her a while to process the situation and she jolted up on the bed.
Noticing how she was naked with her clothes all over the floor, she mentally facepalmed herself for drinking once again and sleeping with the same stranger twice. Despite that, she could not remember who he was.
She recalled how she poured him a few glasses and forced him to drink, just to end up going to the bar to drink more. In the end, she ended up on this bed of the hotel room.
She glared at the phone that was continuously ringing and reached out to pick it up.
"Hello?" she asked and her eyes widened when she heard what the other end was saying. "No, I'm not sleeping. I'm on the way. Yes, I'm sorry. It's because of heavy traffic. I'll be there in ten minutes," she gave out excuses and let out a curse after hanging up. She hurriedly got her butt off the bed, tripped twice and managed to put some clothes on before leaving for the venue where the client was waiting.
The cup on the table had no drinks left and the plates only had crumbs of the cake that had been eaten. The contract had been successfully signed at the lobby of the hotel with the director who wanted to decorate the place with her art. Currently, Jae sat at the nearby cafe that she found when she was halfway back to her house.
She watched the people walk by from the window and thought of what went on their minds. Her eyes fell upon her phone.
"I guess it won't harm to ask for help."
Just as she was about to dial someone, Hyemi's call came in. Raising her eyebrows in curiosity as to why her friend called, she answered it.
"Something wrong?"
"Well, I would like to get a drink. You free?"
"I really shouldn't drink today."
"I will pay so we meet at the usual, okay?"
Without hesitating, Jae answered back to her with a smile plastered on her face.
"Yes, ma'am."
Just like that, Jae had arrived at the bar and headed straight to the counter where the bartender was because Hyemi hasn't arrive yet. Since the bartender was her friend, she wouldn't have to worry about being alone while waiting for Hyemi to come.
"Yoongi," she called and the person turned around. Jae noticed how he scanned her face and his expression changed from normal to worried.
"Are you going to drink again?"
"What do you mean again?"
"You are going to be an alcoholic at this rate."
"I have no idea what you are trying to say."
Yoongi studied Jae's look and realised that she really had no idea what he was talking about.
"You didn't remember anything?"
