3: Unspoken Truths
The sun barely cast its morning light over Mumbai when Aisha Kapoor's phone buzzed with a new message. It was from Misha, requesting a meeting. Given the emotional whirlwind of the previous night, Aisha agreed without hesitation. She arrived at the café with a sense of unease, her mind replaying the events from the night before.
Misha was already seated when Aisha arrived, her expression a mix of exhaustion and determination. She looked up as Aisha approached and gestured for her to sit.
"Good morning," Aisha said, settling into the chair across from Misha. "Thanks for meeting me so early."
Misha offered a strained smile. "I think it's time I explain everything. Last night was... a lot."
Aisha nodded, sensing the gravity in Misha's tone. "I'm listening."
Misha took a deep breath, her eyes distant as she gathered her thoughts. "Veer and I were involved a few years ago. It started out as something casual. We were both young, and it was supposed to be just a fling. But it quickly turned into something much more serious."
Aisha leaned in, her concern evident. "How did it escalate?"
Misha's eyes clouded over with a mixture of sadness and frustration. "It was complicated. My father didn't approve of Veer because of our different religious beliefs. He made it clear that our relationship was not acceptable to him, and that pressure eventually led me to end things with Veer."
Aisha's heart went out to Misha. "I didn't realize. That must have been incredibly tough for you."
Misha nodded, her gaze falling to her cup of coffee. "It was. I was shocked when I found out Veer was getting married. I knew it was a significant event for the company, and even though it was hard for me to be involved, I decided to see it through. I didn't want to be a hindrance to the planning or add any more complications."
Aisha's face softened with empathy. "Misha, you didn't have to put yourself through so much. If I had known earlier, I would have done everything I could to keep you away from this event."
Misha shook her head, her eyes earnest. "I appreciate that, Aisha. But it wasn't just about me. If you could work with your ex, Arjun, why couldn't I work with mine?"
Aisha's expression became contemplative. "But Arjun isn't getting married. The situation is different."
Misha's shoulders slumped slightly, and she sighed. "I understand. It's not the same. But seeing Veer last night, it was like reopening old wounds. I thought I could handle it, but it's been much harder than I anticipated."
Aisha reached across the table and placed a comforting hand on Misha's. "I'm sorry for what you're going through. I genuinely wish I had known sooner. If there's anything I can do to help or make this easier for you, please let me know."
Misha's eyes reflected gratitude. "Thank you, Aisha. I just needed to explain everything. I didn't want there to be any misunderstandings."
Aisha nodded. "I understand now. Let's work together to make sure the rest of the planning goes smoothly. We'll find a way to handle this situation."
With the immediate concern addressed, their conversation turned to practicalities and strategies for managing the upcoming wedding. Aisha and Misha felt a renewed sense of cooperation as they discussed how to proceed.

Later that day, Arjun and Veer found themselves alone in Arjun's apartment. The aftermath of the previous night's events had left an air of tension between them. Arjun, having seen Veer's breakdown, was deeply concerned and felt a need to address the situation directly.
"Veer," Arjun began, breaking the silence, "we need to talk about what happened last night. What were you thinking?"
Veer, still grappling with embarrassment and confusion, looked away. "I don't know, Arjun. I just lost control. Seeing Misha again... it all came rushing back. I didn't mean to cause such a scene."
Arjun's concern was evident. "I get that you're struggling, but you need to get a handle on your emotions. This wedding is a big deal for everyone, not just you."
Veer ran a hand through his hair, frustration and sadness written across his face. "I know. I'm sorry. I didn't realize how much this would affect me. I thought I could handle it, but it's been overwhelming."
Arjun's expression softened as he saw the vulnerability in his brother's eyes. "Look, Veer, we all have our pasts and our struggles. But you need to focus on the present and the future. You're about to get married, and that's something you need to take seriously."
Veer took a deep breath, trying to regain his composure. "You're right. I need to get my act together. It's just hard seeing Misha and realizing how much has changed."
Arjun placed a hand on Veer's shoulder, offering a supportive squeeze. "We all have to face our pasts, but we also have to look forward. If you need help, whether it's talking to someone or getting professional support, do it. But don't let this drag you down."
Veer nodded, a mixture of regret and determination in his eyes. "Thanks, Arjun. I'll try to do better. I just hope I can fix things with Misha."
Arjun gave a reassuring nod. "Take it one step at a time. Focus on what you need to do now, and we'll get through this together."
As they sat in the quiet of the apartment, the weight of their conversation hung heavily in the air. The road ahead was filled with emotional and logistical challenges, but with Arjun's support and a newfound clarity, Veer felt a glimmer of hope.

Later that evening, Misha found herself alone with her thoughts. Her encounter with Aisha had provided some relief, but the weight of her past with Veer still lingered. She decided to reach out to Veer to check on him, hoping to find some closure for both of them.
Her phone buzzed with a text from Veer. He wanted to meet, and though she was hesitant, she agreed. They decided to meet at a quiet park, a place that had once been special to them.
When Misha arrived, she saw Veer already sitting on a bench, his head bowed. He looked up as she approached, his expression a mix of hope and regret.
"Misha," Veer said softly, standing up. "I'm really sorry for everything. I didn't mean for things to get so out of hand last night."
Misha took a seat beside him, her heart aching for the man she once cared deeply about. "It's okay, Veer. I understand that you're going through a lot. I just wish things could have been different."
Veer nodded, his voice cracking. "I know. I should have been more in control. I just didn't expect to feel so much seeing you again."
Misha's eyes softened with compassion. "It's hard to face the past, especially when it's so intertwined with the present. But we both have to move forward."
Veer looked at her, his eyes filled with longing. "I still care about you, Misha. I don't know how to move on from this."
Misha took a deep breath. "It's okay to care. But you have to focus on your future now. Your wedding is a big step, and it's important to embrace it fully."
Veer nodded, the weight of her words sinking in. "I'll try. It's just hard."
Misha reached out and placed a comforting hand on his. "I know. But we'll both get through this. We just need to take it one step at a time."
As they sat together in the quiet of the park, the unresolved emotions between them began to settle. Both knew that moving on would be a process, but with understanding and support, they hoped to find their own paths forward.
