2: Midnight Confessions

The nightclub pulsed with vibrant lights and heavy beats, a stark contrast to the quiet intensity of Veer Oberoi's inner turmoil. Surrounded by friends, Veer attempted to drown his emotions in a sea of alcohol. His laughter was louder than usual, his gestures more exaggerated. To anyone observing, he was the life of the party. But inside, a storm was brewing.

Veer's heartache had been growing increasingly unbearable, and as the drinks continued to flow, his emotional barriers began to crumble. After a few too many shots, he staggered out of the club, leaning heavily on his friends for support. In a haze of drunkenness, he fumbled with his phone, dialing Misha Khan's number.

"Misha," he slurred as she answered, "it's Veer."

Misha, who had been enjoying a quiet evening at home, was startled by the call. "Veer? What's wrong?"

"I can't believe you're still organizing my wedding," Veer said, his voice breaking. "How can you be so heartless? Acting like everything's normal..."

Misha's heart sank as she heard the pain in his voice. "Veer, it's not like that. I'm just doing my job."

"Your job?" Veer's voice was tinged with bitterness. "How can you pretend you don't know what this means to me? You know how hard this is for me."

Veer's emotions were a tangled mess, and the alcohol only made things worse. He began to sob uncontrollably. "I can't do this. I thought... I thought we could work things out. But here I am, getting married and you're just... here. Helping out."

Misha's voice was gentle but firm. "Veer, this isn't fair to me. I'm just trying to do what's best for everyone involved. You need to calm down."

"I need to see you," Veer pleaded. "One last time. Please."

Misha hesitated, conflicted by her own emotions and her professional role. "Veer, I don't think—"

But before she could finish, Veer hung up, unable to bear any more of the conversation. He sank onto a nearby bench, his emotions in chaos.

Meanwhile, Arjun Oberoi, who had been out with his friends at a nearby bar, noticed Veer's erratic behavior. Concerned, he followed his brother outside and found Veer in a disheveled state, sobbing uncontrollably. Arjun's worry intensified, and he immediately pulled out his phone.

He dialed Aisha Kapoor's number, his voice urgent. "Aisha, it's Arjun. Veer's in a bad state. He's drunk and—"

Before he could finish, Aisha's voice was already filled with alarm. "Where are you?"

"Outside the club," Arjun said. "He's not handling this well at all. Can you come over?"

Aisha didn't waste a second. She grabbed her coat and keys, and hurriedly made her way to the club. The city streets blurred past her as she drove, her mind racing with concern.

When Aisha arrived, she found Arjun struggling to comfort Veer, who was slumped on the bench, his face streaked with tears. The sight of him, so vulnerable and broken, tugged at her heartstrings.

"Arjun!" she called out, rushing over. "What happened?"

Arjun looked up, his face filled with worry. "He's been drinking heaven . He's a mess, Aisha."

Aisha crouched beside Veer, gently placing a hand on his shoulder. "Veer, it's okay. We're here now."

Veer looked up, his eyes red and glassy. "Aisha? Arjun? Why are you here?"

"We're here to help," Aisha said softly. "You need to calm down."

Arjun was about to speak when the club's entrance swung open, and Misha stepped out, her face a mixture of concern and determination. She spotted Veer immediately and rushed over, her expression shifting from shock to worry.

"Aisha? Arjun?" Misha said, her voice trembling. "What's going on?"

Aisha and Arjun exchanged a surprised glance. "Misha," Aisha said, "we didn't expect you here."

Misha's gaze was fixed on Veer, who had risen unsteadily to his feet upon seeing her. His face, a mask of raw emotion, lit up with a mixture of relief and desperation.

"Mishuu," Veer said softly, his voice breaking. Without another word, he staggered forward and wrapped his arms around Misha, holding her tightly. The rawness of his emotions was palpable, and Misha was taken aback by the sudden embrace.

"Veer, let go," Misha said gently, but her voice lacked conviction. The intensity of the moment made it difficult for her to push him away.

Aisha and Arjun watched in stunned silence, the gravity of the situation sinking in. The personal dynamics between them were now more complicated than ever. Arjun, usually the calm and composed one, looked deeply unsettled.

Aisha approached Misha, her concern evident. "Misha, are you okay?"

Misha nodded, though her eyes were filled with tears. "I didn't expect this. I just... I didn't know how to handle this."

Arjun stepped forward, his expression one of frustration mixed with compassion. "Veer, you need to get yourself together. We're all here to support you, but you need to take a step back and calm down."

Veer slowly released Misha from the embrace, his face showing a mixture of regret and relief. "I'm sorry," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I didn't mean to..."

Misha gently wiped her tears, trying to regain her composure. "It's okay, Veer. We're here now. Let's talk somewhere quiet."

Arjun and Aisha nodded in agreement. "Let's get him home," Aisha suggested. "We need to make sure he's alright."

With Arjun's and Aisha's help, Veer was carefully guided away from the club. Misha walked beside him, offering support as they made their way to Arjun's car. The atmosphere was heavy with unspoken words and lingering emotions.

Once they were settled in the car, the drive back was filled with a tense silence. Veer, still overwhelmed by the evening's events, sat quietly, leaning against the window. Misha, Arjun, and Aisha sat close by, each lost in their own thoughts.

When they arrived at Arjun's apartment, Aisha and Arjun helped Veer inside. Misha stayed close, her concern for Veer clear in every gesture. They settled him on the couch, and Aisha went to get some water and a blanket, while Arjun prepared some light food to help settle Veer's stomach.

As Aisha returned with the water, she saw Misha sitting beside Veer, gently talking to him. Her expression was a mix of empathy and sorrow.

Arjun looked at Aisha, his eyes reflecting the strain of the night. "This is a lot to process. We need to make sure Veer gets through this."

Aisha nodded. "Yes. We all need to talk about what's happened and find a way to move forward."

The night had unfolded into an emotional whirlwind, but amidst the chaos, there was a glimmer of hope. The connections between them, though strained, were still strong. As the dawn approached, they faced the challenge of mending their relationships and finding a way through the tangled web of emotions and unresolved issues.
