Chapter 8

Nichole POV

"What's going on between you and prince Joshua?"

I froze at his words. I couldn't tell him about Joshua and I but it's not something is really going on between us. I also feel obligated to tell him because he deserves to know. Lost in my thoughts once again Eisuke spoke.

"So you're not going to answer me?" He sounded hurt but his face showed no emotion.

"There's nothing going on between us." I sounded unsure of my words. I looked into his eyes which were full of hidden sadness. He turned his face away from mine and spoke again. "I see, I'm going to bed." With that, he left the room. I don't think I should follow, it's obvious he wants to be alone. I layed back on the couch and pulled a blanket over me. I know it sounds corny but I miss the warmth of Eisuke's arms wrapped around me. I wish I could tell him.

The next morning I make Eisuke's coffee as always. I sit it down on the table and waited for him. Eisuke is usually up by now, did he sleep in? I get up and go to our bedroom to find him, but no Eisuke. "I guess he left early." Well, I better get to work.

After I finish cleaning rooms with Chrisato, I'm headed to the lobby to help put together the prince's party. As I'm headed towards the elevator, I run into Erika and twins, Rina and Kana.

(If you read Kissed by the Baddest Bidder you know who they are)

"Where do you think you're going?" Erika said. I don't have time for this right now. "Down to the lobby to help with the prince's party." I said. "Why do you get to help plan his party? You already get to work in the penthouse with the VIPS and you clean the prince of DresVann's room, now you get to help with his party?! What do you think you're doing Nichole?!" "Yeah what do you think you're doing?" Rina and Kana said. I need to hurry, "sorry, I've gotta go." I said. I ran past them and to the elevator.

As I was passing through the lobby, my mind wandered to Eisuke. I haven't seen him all day and he left early this morning so I didn't see him then either. Is he still mad at me? Probably, I never did really answer his question. I can't tell him, but on the other hand I don't want him to get the wrong idea. But what about Joshua, does he have the wrong idea, was I just imagining that he was trying to kiss me? This I all too much, I just need to focus on my work. No, I need to clear things up with Eisuke. I care about Joshua, but I love Eisuke. I'll talk to him when he gets home tonight. With that decided, I head up to the penthouse to start cleaning, I wonder if he's there?

When I enter the penthouse lounge I see that everyone is Here, except Eisuke. I guess he's gone. "Hello princess." Baba greeted me with a warm smile. "You really need to stop hitting on Nichole before you have to deal with Eisuke." Ota said. "I don't think you have to worry about that." I said. "Trouble in paradise." Soryu said. "Kinda, he's kinda mad at me." I said. Everyone seemed surprised, "what'd ya do this time kid." Mamoru said. "I may have given him the wrong idea about me and prince Joshua." I said nervously. "You're having an affair with the prince?!" Ota shouted. "No! I would never". I said. "Then what made boss get the wrong idea, you must've done something." Baba said. I honestly couldn't think of anything. Until I remembered how he looked when he saw Joshua and I in the ballroom, his mood has been pretty sour since after that. "Well, whatever it is I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding. Nothing you guys can't get through together." Baba said. "Just talk to him." Soryu said. "Thank you everyone." I said. They're always there when I need them, no wonder Eisuke trust them so much. Just then, the door to  the penthouse opened. It's Eisuke, he doesn't say anything. He just goes upstairs towards his suite. With the help from the guys, I decide to talk to Eisuke now instead of tonight. I want to fix this, I head up the stairs behind Eisuke.

I'm infront of Eisuke's door, ready to knock. But I can't do it, my hand won't move. I gather up all my courage and knock on the door. "Who is it?" Eisuke said. "Me." I said. It was silent for a moment, is he not gonna let me in? I'm about to walk away from the door, until I hear Eisuke say "come in" from the other side. Thank god, I open the door and I see Eisuke sitting on the couch. "What do you want." He has the same cool demeaner as usual but there's a coldness to his voice, it's scary. "Um w-well I umm." I can barely get a word out. "Well go on, spit it out." He said. There's that cold tone again, he seems agitated also. "Well I just wanted to tell you that there's nothing going on with me and prince Joshua." I said in one breath. I wait for Eisuke's response, but he's silent. "Didn't seem like nothing in the ballroom." He said. "W-well that." I didn't know what it was, it's not like we kissed. But what would have happened if Eisuke hadn't walked in? "That's what I thought." Eisuke said. I was silent. "Then i guess there's nothing left to say." He began to leave the room. Oh no, It can't end like this! "Eisuke wait!" He stopped and looked at me. "I-I'm not with the prince, but there is something I need to tell you. I now had Eisuke's full attention. "What is it?" I took deep breath and said it. "I'm a princess."
