Chapter 6
Nichole POV
It's been pretty hectic at Tres Spades these past couple of days. The prince's birthday party is coming up very soon so everyone is very busy. It's been very difficult for me to concentrate because all I can think about is the Prince's little invitation to DresVann. He says I'll understand soon enough, understand what?
It's time for me to head up to the Prince's suite to start cleaning. I hate coming up here, all he talks about is how I'm going to be queen. I didn't even decide yet! As I started making the bed, Joshua walks in. "So, have you made your decision?" He said. I didn't respond. "So, you're giving me the cold shoulder now?" I turned around and spoke, "why can't you just find some other princess in your kingdom, I'm sure there are plenty from where you come from." You think I made the decision to choose you as queen." He chuckled at this. He didn't have to say it so harsh. "I was sent here by my father to fetch you, I couldn't understand it either, why would my father choose a maid for a queen? He then explained to me that you were a direct line of royal blood and that it had to be you because you're the Nobel Michel's granddaughter." I still didn't understand why him being my grandfather mattered so much. "Who cares if I'm his granddaughter?" He seemed surprised at this remark. "You don't see the importance of continuing your grandfather's legacy?" To be honest I didn't, what was so important about it? Joshuan continued, "you'll understand soon enough." I could only guess he meant the dinner tomorrow night. I continued making the bed with slight worry throughout the day at work.
As I was finishing up the last room for the day, my pager went off. I pulled it out my pocket and saw that I got a page from Eisuke. "Meet me in front of the hotel in 5 min." I raced out the room, I wonder what he could want?
When I got outside, I saw Eisuke standing by his limo on his phone. He always looks so cool, in his clean suit and chisled features. He may be bossy at times. No, all the time, but I love him. Which is why becoming queen is even more scary. When Eisuke was finished with his call, he looked up and finally saw me. "You ready?" He asked. "For what?" I asked. "Remember, we had plans to do some shopping before the dinner tomorrow night." He said. "Oh right." I said. I guess it must've slipped my mind because of all this royalty stuff. "Shall we?" Eisuke opened the limo door, he's always such a gentlemen. "Thanks." I said with a smile.
As we entered the store, I realized this isn't the usual one we shop at. The dresses seemed different. "Um Eisuke?" I said. "Hm?" He said. "Why are we here? The dresses seem different, almost like they were made for royalty." I said. He turned and spoke to me and said, "Well, we are going to a kingdom to have dinner with a prince. You do the math." I think understood what he was trying to say, I'm going to be dressed like a princess.
I tried on a few gowns for Eisuke but he turned them all down, they all seemed beautiful to me. I tried on one more dress, waiting for Eisuke to turn down this dress as well. He looked up and didn't say anything. "Um, Eisuke?" I was nervous with his gaze on me like this. "Is it that bad?" I started to feel down, I knew none of these dresses would suit me. I turned around to go change when Eisuke spoke, "it's perfect." I stopped dead in my tracks, "r-really?" I said.

"Do you think I would send you to a royal dinner in something hideous?" That's Eisuke, a compliment followed by an insult. "But you do look beautiful in that dress." He said. He had a kind smile on his face, it made me smile. After we purchased our clothing, we headed to the airport to Eisuke's private jet.
Once we arrived in DresVann, we were greeted by a limo and taken to the palace. While we were on our way, I noticed all the little fancy shops and elegantly dressed people of the little town. But as we passed through, I noticed the town seemed different. There were people in old clothing and children on the streets. It seemed way different then the little town we just passed. My heart went out to all the people I saw.
Once we pulled up to the palace, I was in awe. "WOW, Eisuke look at this!" "Must you be so loud?" He said. "Oh, s-sorry." I said feeling a little embarrassed on how I'd been acting. "Why are you apologizing?" He said. "It's cute when you're excited like this." The way he looked at me when he said that made my heart race and my cheeks turn red.
We were escorted into the palace and greeted by Prince Joshua and a older looking man beside him. "Welcome to our home." The old man said. "Oh and welcome back Eisuke, it's always nice to see you here." He seemed nice, like the old sweet grandfather type. "Once my son told me you were joining us for dinner this evening I was very pleased." So, this is Joshua's father? "Dinner will be ready shortly. But for the time being, I'll have our maid Yuusake escort you to your room, and feel free to look around." The King and Joshua exited the room. Eisuke and I were left standing there with Yuusake. "Follow me." She said. As we followed Yuusake down the hall, I noticed all the paintings on the wall. There were paintings of the king, prince Joshua and a beautiful woman. She must be the queen, Joshua's mother. I wonder where she is? We'll probably see her at dinner.
Once we reached our room, I was in shock. " Eisuke, it's so beautiful!" "If you keep getting excited over little things, you aren't gonna make it through the day." He said with a chuckle. I walked over to the window and onto the balcony. The view was amazing, I could only imagine what it would be like at night. "We should start getting ready soon." Eisuke said. "Oh, right." I said and closed the balcony door. "I should probably take a shower." I said. As I entered the bathroom, Eisuke was right behind me. "Uh Eisuke, what are you doing?" I asked. "What does it look like, I'm getting in the shower with you." What?! "Y-you can't!" I said. "Why?" He said. "Because that's!..." I couldn't find the words. "I've seen you naked before haven't I?" I couldn't answer him. "So it shouldn't be a problem." He said. I could tell by his tone that I had no choice.

After Eisuke and I finished our shower, we changed into our clothes for dinner this evening. I turned to Eisuke and I was in shock, he looked like, like an actual prince! It was almost too sexy. I just stared at his profile. "Am I that entertaining?" Eisuke chuckled. Eisuke's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. "Ummm." Was all I could say. "Was the shower not enough?" He started walking closer to me. "W-we should get going." I stuttered. Eisuke was now inches from my lips. "Who cares if we're a little late?" He said with a mischievous grin on his face. "Eisuke." Just then, there was a knock on the door. "Dinner is ready." I heard Yuusake say. Eisuke pulled away, "we'll continue this later." He said. "But before we go, there's something I want to give you." Eisuke pulled out a velvet box and inside was a beautiful black and blue diamond necklace with earrings to match, it was beyond gorgeous! "Oh my god, Eisuke I love it." I said. "Turn around." He said. I turned around and I felt the coldness of the necklace on my neck and the tips of Eisuke fingers on the back of my neck which sent a chill up my spine. Once Eisuke fixed the clasp on the necklace he turned me around and said, " you look like an actual princess." That brought tears to my eyes and a smile to my face. "Don't ruin your makeup with tears." He said. "We should get going." Eisuke left the room. I stood there for a moment, trying to calm my beating heart. I then followed after Yuusake and Eisuke.
We entered the dining room and was greeted by the king and prince Joshua. "Shall we start dinner?" The king said. We all sat down at the table, "dinner will be served shortly." A waiter said. Everything was quiet for a moment until the king broke the silence. "You look wonderful this evening Nichole." "Thank you." I said. I felt so out of place, I'm having dinner with a king and a prince. This is nothing like those parties Eisuke takes me to. "So, have you two been together long?" The king asked. " I guess you could say that." Eisuke said. "Well, it looks like life has been treating you well Nichole." The king said. "I-I guess you could say that." I said. "Well, I wish I could say the same thing about DresVann." The king said. "What do you mean?" I said. "Well since the passing of the Nobel Michel, our kingdom has reached great poverty, and without two leaders, things may never look better." "What about you sir?" I said. "I wish I could but it's far too much work for one person. since the passing of my wife and The Nobel Michel, Joshau is next in line for the throne. Which is why he needs to find a a wife soon." So that's why I don't see the queen, she's passed away. I understand why the king is worried, but it seems that Joshua is more worried about becoming King, how selfish.
After dinner, everything seemed calm. The king spoke of his plans for Joshua to help the kingdom, Joshua didn't seem to be paying any attention to the conversation.
Just as I thought, all he cares about is being king. As a source of entertainment, the king brought in his orchestra for music. The way they played their instruments were beautiful, the music took me to another place. As I was lost in the band playing, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and it was Eisuke, "would you like to dance?" I flashed him a smile and gave him my hand.
(PLAY MUSIC AT THE TOP)
Eisuke placed my hands on his shoulders and wrapped his arms around my waist. My heart was beating a million times a minute. "Just relax and let me lead." Eisuke said. I relaxed from his words and we swayed across the dance floor. While Eisuke and I were dancing, the king walked over. "May I borrow Nichole for just a moment?" He said. "Of course." Eisuke said. He handed me off to the King.
As the king and I danced, he began to speak. "Are you enjoying your stay?" He asked. "Yes I am your highness, thank you." I said. "Would you mind if I asked you a favor?" He said. "Of course not sir." I said. "Will you marry my son and help our kingdom?" I didn't know what to say, I couldn't make a decision on the spot. I haven't even told Eisuke yet! "I know I'm asking much, but do it for the people of the village, your grandfather, your kingdom." I thought back to those children I saw in the village. I thought about how much hope they must've had until my grandfather died. "Do it for Joshua." Joshua?! " I know he may not seem so, but he does care." Didn't seem like it to me. "Just give it some thought." He said. "I-I'll try." I said. The king smiled at this, he's such a warm person. How can him and Joshua be related?
After a while, the evening came to an end. Eisuke and I went back to our room. "What were you and the king talking about?" Eisuke said. "Um, nothing really." I said. "Hm." Eisuke walked into the bathroom. I went back onto the balcony to look at the stars that filled the sky. You can never see them like this back in Japan. As I was staring up at the starry sky, I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around my waist. "Did you enjoy dinner?" Eisuke said. "Yeah, it was nice." I said. "The stars are beautiful out here, you could never see this out in Japan." "We could, I'll take you when we get back." He said. I smiled at this, these moments with Eisuke are the ones I cherish the most. Eisuke began to kiss down my neck. "What are you doing?" I said. "I told you we would continue this later didn't I?" He began to unzip the back of my dress. 'Um Eisuke?" "Shhhh." He said. I couldn't say another word after that.
