Soryu-nine
Yui's PoV
The next morning, I sat on the lounge couch, doing stuff for my online classes.
Ichinomiya's on the couch on the far right, when I'm on the far left; Baba and Ota are talking about something on the sofa in between; Soryu's probably at the Ice Dragons headquarters.
When I shut down the laptop, Ota and Baba were staring at me, curiosity shown in their eyes.
"What?" I ask.
"Nothing. You just really look like..." Ota trailed off, not finishing his sentence. I know what he's going to say. I glance at Mamoru, who was smoking in the corner, he stared right back at me.
Is that supposed to be some sort of warning...?
"Yeah... no matter in which angle... you really do." Baba said more to himself than to me. I know. My midnight sapphire black hair and matching icy dark blue eyes were inherited directly from my father, that's for sure.
"What's your point?" Arms and legs crossed, I threw them a glare.
"Could you possibly be... related to—"
However, he was cut off.
By the door to the penthouse lounge opening.
By someone I haven't seen in almost five months.
"H-hello?" a very familiar soft voice asked. A voice that I certainly missed but can't show it.
At all the widened eyes around the room, I was already hundred percent sure who just walked in.
"Oh my god! Yui!"
I turn around to my mother's small frame. I was almost immediately tightly embraced by her. I wanted so badly to hug her back, tell her I really missed her and that I'm sorry for everything.
But I can't. If those guys are still after me, they'd find where mom was eventually.
It took every last nerve in my body to force myself to push her away, not forcefully.
"Y-Yui? What's wrong?" mom's innocent eyes scanned me from head to toe, making sure there were no injuries whatsoever.
"Please don't make this harder than it already is." My voice, surprisingly, broke at the end. "Please. They'll find you. I can't risk that." A tear rolled down my cheek as I made a run for the door.
On my way out, I passed by Soryu, who was just outside the door. He tried to grab me, but I dodged and dashed out.
Soryu's PoV
After I check over the most important work and trusted the rest to the other members, I head back to the penthouse. I still needed to accompany Mei Ling.
But when I arrived, the door to the lounge was wide open. I crept by the door, hiding myself as I listened to someone talking inside. My hand was gripping my gun inside its pocket.
"Y-Yui? What's wrong?" an all-too familiar voice asked with concern. It gave me shivers. The grip on my gun tightened.
"Please, they'll find you. I can't risk that happening." Yui spoke back. As soon as she does, she ran out. I made an attempt to grab her, but she dodged and rushed away.
I didn't think it was anything important as I just let her go, thinking she'd cool down, I made my appearance into the lounge. Only to find...
Arian.
She was staring at the door, as if still shocked that Yui ran away. For the first time ever, my grip went limp and whatever was in my hand crashed to the ground. Making all attention come to me.
Even Eisuke stopped what he was doing and focused on the scene in front of him.
"S-Soryu...." Her timid voice was barely audible as she shifted around nervously.
My legs carried me forward, until I was right in front of her. I don't know when the others left, probably to give us space.
"Arian. Look at me." I said, and she did so. She hasn't changed at all. Her features, her skin....
"I-I'm sorry...." She started to say. I thought I was supposed to be angry at her. But at this moment, all I could feel was bliss. Without thinking, my right hand reached to her cheek and caressed it.
"Soryu? Um... a-aren't you mad at me..?" her innocent eyes questioned and worry showed on her features as she gazed back at me.
I felt a small smile tug on my lips, something that was gone for as long as she wasn't with me.
Cupping her cheeks, I lifted her face as our lips crashed together.
After who knows how long passed when we were just in each other's arms, she hugged me tight as she buried her face into my chest.
"Um.. Soryu..? Can I tell you something?" her voice was slightly muted. It was like she couldn't look me in the eye.
"Anything." I kiss the top of her head.
"The reason why I left... was... well I..."
I stiffened at her words.
"Um... I was pregnant!" as if suddenly making up her mind, she shot up and looked at me.
She was... wait what?!
"Y-You're the father." She whispered, her grip on my suit tighter, as if I'd leave her.
I still couldn't quite grasp my situation. Then where's the child?
"It was a she." Arian continued on, very anxious since I still haven't said anything.
Finally, when I gently held her hands, assuring that I'm fine, she stopped shivering.
"I'm glad. Why did you ever think it'd make me upset?" I land a gentle peck on her lips. I could've started a family with her. Speaking of, where is this child?
"Really? I'm so relieved." She instantly relaxed right into my arms.
"And... where is she? Our child?"
Once again, she stiffed. "You kinda already met her...."
Lightning flashed through my world at her next words.
"It's Yui. Soryu, it's the girl who just ran out. It's her."
Yui's PoV
I walk aimlessly through the streets. Nowhere to go now. I could call Hikaru and go to his house, where I always went before staying at the hotel. His father never caught me. Heck, the total time of his hours at his own house was probably 8 out of 24! The man only came back home to sleep or for breakfast!
But I don't feel like even seeing him anymore. Well... I guess one could say that I like someone else....
Shaking my head, I suddenly heard someone call out to me cheerfully.
"Mei Ling? Li Yan?" I turn to the two sugar-high females, waving to me.
"Can you come with us to the shopping districts? Please?" Li Yan already took my right hand.
"Soryu's not with you guys now, is he?" I look around, they shouldn't be out of sight too far away. After all, people could still be after them.
"Come on! Don't be so uptight! We girls could use some privacy." Mei Ling smiled.
"So, can you come with us? Pretty please with a cherry on top?" Li Yan tugged my hand.
"I guess it wouldn't hurt...."
"Great!" Mei Ling led the way while Li Yan and I followed along.
Look at all those colorful fabric and accessories....
Li Yan already has a pink cotton candy in her hands while I have a blue one.
"How's this?" Mei Ling held a flower imprint shirt against herself, looking into a full body mirror.
"Not bad." I comment light heartedly. I'm not that into fashion.
Suddenly, I spot an arcade center. My eyes flashed to the shooting games. I've always been the most interested in those games, it's probably what comes with my mafia background.
Some random guy who was playing right now seemed pretty full of himself.
"Yes!" he threw a fist into the air as he beat the current recorded high score by six points. What a loser.
"Excuse me." I insert two coins into the machine, I just couldn't control myself. The guy rose an eyebrow at me before stepping aside and crossing his arms while monitoring the screen.
All of my shots were exact and I didn't even loose one drop of HP throughout the entire course. In the end, I got a new high score, about seven hundred more points.
Heh, I could totally refresh all the scores in this place.
"That's so hot." Someone whispered. Since when did a crowd gather? I back away from the machine.
"That's so cool, Yui!" Li Yan dragged me away, successfully giving me an excuse to escape but also exposing my name.
"There!" Mei Ling points at a map of the outdoor market. She wanted to go to an accessory store that's two streets across from where we are now. It'll take long to walk all the way around.
"We can just go through the two stands." Mei Ling suggested as she was already going through one. I don't know about that, it's never a good idea to walk through dark alleys. It's literally how every main character in TV shows get in trouble.
Li Yan tugged at my arm again, I had to follow them.
Suddenly, I heard a clicking sound. My eyes darted behind, there were several alleys in between, making spaces for people to hide behind. What if that was the sound of a camera clicking?
"Almost there! We're already half way through." Mei Ling slowed down a bit so the three of us were walking in a line.
I came to a dead halt and also pulling onto the other two's arms when I was sure this time I heard something. I can feel other people's presence around me.
"What's wrong?" Li Yan asked innocently as she finished the last bite of her cotton candy.
I lean towards them, my eyes still scanning our surroundings, I whispered, "run towards that shop you wanted to go to. Fast. As fast as you can. Go!"
I gave them a light shove forward. Although confused, thankfully they still listened.
"Not so fast!"
A shadow rushed out of the alley branch right behind me and attempted to dash past me, which means he must not be alone. But I can't let that happen.
Rushing forward, I quickly catch up and smack away whatever or whoever was heading towards Li Yan.
"She IS stronger than she looks!" He yelled. Now this is getting dangerous, he's talking to someone else, he's not alone. Who knows how many more there are...?
But no matter what, I've gotta make sure Mei Ling and Li Yan makes it out safely. Soryu could get in big trouble if anything happens to the heirs of the Bell Crickets.
Li Yan was scared stiff by now. Her eyes wide as a bell, she even shivered slightly. She was protected too well up until now.
"Li Yan, have you ever taken any training?" I ask, my eyes never stop scanning.
"O-only very basic ones.... I've been taking track... but that's all."
"How about you, Mei Ling?"
She just shook her head. Ugh. How do they survive in the mafia with no fighting experience?!
And worse! I left my gun back in Soryu's suite!
"You take care of the two, I'll get the girl." A deep voice instructs calmly. What did he mean by 'girl'? I'm not sure if he meant me or Li Yan. If it's Li Yan, I've gotta protect her.
"Run, now!" I shout again.
They were in front of me as I stayed behind them in case a bullet came shooting or something, at least I can block it first.
Li Yan screamed when a gun fire was heard.
Shit, they're serious about capturing us.
A sharp pain spread from my ankle all of a sudden, making me stumble involuntarily. I think I stepped on something, I wasn't wearing running shoes. Either that, or they got a shot at my leg.
"Yui!" Mei Ling glanced back, making sure I was keeping up. But I'm slowly drifting further away.
Another gun fire kept them running. That's good.
I heard approaching footsteps, and I started to panic. My heart was beating wildly when someone got an iron grip on my left wrist, pulling me to a halt.
"Take care of those two." That same deep voice commanded as I felt someone run past me, probably to get to Mei Ling and Li Yan. That is not happening!
Throwing my arm down with full force, I managed to get that guy by surprise and freed my wrist. Ignoring the pain that's already burning in my right leg, I caught up to the person in front who was just a few feet away from the two girls.
Grabbing his hood, I gave him a deadly headlock.
"Ah!" he yelled as he fell backwards and crashed onto the floor. Knowing that my stay will probably stall enough time for Mei Ling and Li Yan to run out of the alleys, I didn't bother to run again.
The other person caught up with me and bind my wrists. My gaze was still locked on the two running ahead, probably too scared to notice that someone was missing from behind them.
It was only when I witnessed them sprinted out to the streets out open I finally let out a sigh of relief.
"The other two escaped." The one behind me gritted out.
When whoever bind me pinned me to the wall. I caught view of their face.
Realization hit me that I knew this person.
Before he pressed a cloth against my mouth, I breathed out his name.
"Daryl..?"
