I slipped a couple of knives into my boots and a gun into the side of my pants as my jacket covers the rest of it.
I wash up my face to make the tear stains disappear. I then make sure I have my credit cards and money in my purse. I put on my bag and grab my car keys as I start walking down the stairs to go to the garage, I hear someone knock on my door.

Serena: "Crap..."

I whispered to myself as I stayed silent. The knocking continued, I silently ran down the hall to the back door. Once I get to it I see the back door's door knob move. My eyes widen as I notice someone is trying to get in or should I say some people since the knocking out front is still going on.

Serena:  "..."

( Who could they be?)

I speed walk with my stuff to the door that leads to the garage and enter. I open my car door and put my stuff in as I then slide in myself, turning on my car. I look at the button that open the garage and close my eyes while counting.

Serena:  "5, 4, 3, 2..."

I hear a gun shot and open my eyes,  pressing the button as I step on the gas quickly once the garage opens enough for me.

( I gotta get out of here.)

Serena:  " 1! "

I drive out of there but more gunshots are heard. One of them I think even hit my car. I continued driving until I get far away from there, suddenly a black car stops infront of me.

( Another one???)

The black car's side door suddenly opens, someone steps out of it but I can't see the figure's face clearly. I pull out the gun I have in the side of my pants and step out aswell.

Make voice:  " Serena I've come for you."

(His voice sounds so familiar.)

Serena:  " Who are you and what do you want?"

He steps closer to me, revealing his identity. It was non other then...

Kai:  " You've forgotten me already?"

It saids in a fake hurt tone.

Serena:  " Oh, it's just you."

I sigh and he chuckles as he walks upto me, sliding his hand onto my right cheek.

(What is he doing?)

Kai:  " Someone doesn't seem happy to see me."

Serena:  "Why should I be?"

Kai:  " Because my men took care of those robbers that tried to get in your place."

Serena:  " Your men-...wait, wait how did you know that there are robbers at my house??"

Kai:  " I've had my men keep an eye on you."

I push his hand off of my cheek and look at him confused.

Serena:  " Why??"

Kai:  " As a sign of my gratitude to you I've been keeping you safe."

Serena:  " I don't need your help. I don't need body guards."

Kai:  "You need us."

Serena:  "No I don't."

Kai:  " Come with us."

Serena:  " No thank you."

I turned around and started walking away, not wanting any of his help.

Kai:  " Serena we already know your whole situation, just come with us. You have no where else to go."

(He's right I don't have anywhere to go.)

I stand still, not turning around as I continued thinking. I let out a sigh in defeat and say.

Serena:  " Just for a few days."

He smirks and extends his hand towards me, wanting for me to grab his hand. I instead push his hand away gently with the back of my palm and turn around, walking to my car. I get in and he walks over to me.

Kai:  " Follow me."

Serena:   "..."

I nod silently and close the door, starting my car once again and watch him enter his. He begins driving away and I follow. Almost half an hour has passed and now I'm finally at his place.

I step out of the car once he does the same. I take out my things and he shows me around. When he finishes he then leads me to my new room.

Kai:  " I hope it favors all your needs."

(Wow this room is huge!!)

Serena:  " Thank you."

Kai:  " If you need anything, press this."

He hands me a small white box, I open the box revealing a red button.

(What does this do?)

I press gently on the button and I hear no sound.

Serena:  " Umm I think it's broken."

Kai:  " I highly doubt that-..."

He gets cut off by the door opening and someone rushing in.

Maid:  " I-I'm truly sorry m'lady!"

(M'lady?)

A young girl with short reddish hair and cute freckles in a maid suit saids quickly as she bows.

Serena:  "Huh?"

Maid:  " I-I was preparing some food for you."

She saids shyly and I giggle lowly.

(She seems like a nice girl.)

Kai:  " No excuses, let this not repeat itself again understood? This is our guest treat her as royalty."

Maid:  " Y-Yes..sir...I'm sorry."

Kai:  " Now where is our guest's dinner?"

Maid:  " I-It's..right-.... OH NO I LEFT IT ON THE STOVE!"

She ran out of the room but came back a few seconds and bows quickly, apologizing again then going back to attend the food. Leaving me giggling to myself because of her cute goofiness. Kai sighs lowly as he pushes his hair back, slightly frustrated.

Kai:  " I apologize for her behavior."

Serena:  " It's fine."

Kai:  " I'll go now and let you adjust yourself to your new room, sleep well my precious mermaid."

He saids as he smirks at me. I roll my eyes at his attempt of flirting with me and close the door when he steps out of my room.

Serena:  " This is home for now?"

I say with a sigh and begin putting my things away. Once I finish I flop onto my bed and stare at the stealing for a few seconds as I think of all I've been through today.

(I knew he was mad at me but...that didn't give him the right to leave me there and go cheat on me with someone else.)

Serena:  " Why Soryu...? I thought you loved me..."

A tear rolls down as I imagine him doing things he hasn't done to me with some one else. Suddenly someone knocks on the door and I sit up, groaning slightly and wiping my tear away.

Serena:  " Ugh...What do you want Kai?"

The person knocking speaks up with a soft feminine voice and I immediately knew who it was.

Maid:  " I-I'm sorry to disturb you m'lady...y-your dinner is ready.."

Serena:  " Come in."

She enters with what looks like a buffet.

(Whoa!)

Maid:   " H-Here's your food m'lady...I didn't know what you like...so I made a bit of everything..."

Serena:  " I see."

I say as I look at all the food amazed and giggle. 

Maid:  " I-If there is anything you need..please press the button."

I look at her arm. It has bracelet that has a light that seems to turn on when I need her and press the button.

(Kinda looks like a dog collar....)

Serena:  " Actually I need to favors from you."

Maid:  " W-What..would you like m'lady? I-Is your food to c-cold...?"

Serena:  " No, no it's perfect but.."

Maid:  " B-But..?"

Serena:  " It's too much for me to eat, would you like some?"

Maid:  " N-No thank you m'lady...it's your...I can't eat the same food as you..."

Serena:  " Please join me, I'll be sad if you don't."

Maid:  " M-M'lady..I c-can't-..."

I grab her wrist gently and sit her down on the bed,next to me, not letting her finish her sentence.

Serena:  " You'll eat with me, it's an order."

I say nicely with a big smile,leaving get surprised by my actions.

Maid:  " A-As you wish...m'lady."

(I want her to know I'm a good person.)

I begin eating and look at her. She shyly nibbles her food, carefully and quietly.

Serena:  " Mmm this is so good!"

Maid:  " Y-You really...think so m'lady..?"

Serena:  " I don't think, I know."

I see a small smile play on lips as she looks away a bit embarrassed of my praising her.

Maid:  " T-Thank you m'lady."

Serena:  " Serena."

Maid:  " M-Mermaid...you want a a mermaid..m'lady...?"

I giggle lowly as I hear what she saids and she looks at me confused.

Serena:  " No my name is Serena silly."

She blushes lightly, embarrassed once again.

Maid:  " I-I'm sorry...would you prefer to be called...Lady Serena then...?"

Serena:  " Just call me Serena, no meed to be to formal."

I smile warmly at her and she shyly returns my smile.

Maid:  " O-Okay Serena...but when others are around...I must speak formal.."

Serena:  " Understood."

Maid:  "Mhmm."

She nods slowly and I take a sip of some tea she brought with her.

Serena:  " What's your name?"

Maid:  " O-Oh...I'm sorry I forgot to introduce myself m'lad-...Serena."

She quickly catches herself almost saying m'lady then replaced it with my name. Being very thoughtful. She then gets up and bow.

Maid:  " M-My name is Jenny Lu and I'm at your service."

Serena:  " Jenny is a nice name."

She looks up at me and saids something.

Maid:  " T-Thank you...so is Serena."

Serena:  " Thanks."

We both smile at eachother as she sits back down next to me.

Serena:  " Jenny."

Jenny:  " Y-Yes...?"

Serena:  " I don't want you to be my maid."

Jenny:  " Y-You're...firing me....??"

She saids in a heartbroken voice as her eyes are covered in a glossy layer.

Uh oh did Serena just say what she said??

She needs all the friends she can get in her situation!

At a place she barely knows?

Is she really going to stay with a man she doesn't know well?

It wouldn't be the first time but come on he's a Mafia boss!
