ONE

It was a Monday ... I think. It had to be a Monday cause no one would start school during the week. Either way, it was sunny, which was usual for Auradon, and a crowd had formed outside Auradon prep to welcome the four new students. Quite the afford was made with the marching band playing and the soon-to-be king waiting in the front with his soon-to-be ex-girlfriend Audrey glued to his arm.

" It's actually kind of sad that four teenagers arriving are probably the biggest thing that happened here in roughly 20 years.", Gillian commented, passing a cigarette to me.

"I still think the biggest thing was when the fairy godmother walked in on you screwing that tournament guy doggy style.", I chuckled, looking at the dark, locked boy who grinned at the memory.

"a real classic," he confirmed.

"Futterwacken.", Adison beside us mumbled. "yes, that was a fun time too," I admitted,  inhaling once more some and blowing smoke into the air. I could feel the disproving look of fairy godmother on me but couldn't care less.

We weren't morons, so instead of joining the other idiots, we sat on the other side of the road underneath the old oak tree outside school territory. Another perk of sitting here was the view.

" Vehicle!" Addison suddenly pointed out, literally pointing at the road where the royal limousine was parking in front of the crowd. The marching band started to play their most annoying welcome song, and Ben was bouncing in joy.

"Now it's gonna get interesting.", I said, leaning forward. The car door was opened, and two boys stumbled out, fighting over a blue fabric thing, which led the smaller one to drop to the floor.

"Nice to witness there are idiots on the isle too." Gillian rolled his eyes while taking the cigarette from me.

"oh come on, Sir fuck a lot, luscious hair over there is totally your type." I laughed while watching a purple-haired girl climb over her fellows with ease.

She scanned the crowd skeptically, hissing something to her friend, while the last VK, a blue-haired girl with a dreamy gaze, made her entrance.

" Pretty," Adison beside me awed, her usual watery blue eyes as bright as ever.

I smiled at her enthusiasm, then turned my attention back to the newcomers. The two boys were now standing behind the purple-haired, who seemed to be their leader. She was staring intensely at Ben, who looked absolutely smitten by her as well.

"I bet, teen, the two of them gonna be all over each other in no time." Gillian rolled his eyes.

" I'm not betting against you.", I decided at the sight of Audrey clasping Ben's arm even tighter.

"I wish we could hear them." I added. Then suddenly, the purple-haired's green gaze was on me, briefly taking in my face and the cigarette between my fingers.

"Audrey gossiped about us again.", I concluded, winking at the girl in a friendly manner. Her gaze returned to Ben, and the two of them talked again.

"Anyways, I'm heading back to the dorms.", I said, rising, then tossed the cancer stick to the floor and stomped at it.

"you're coming?" I asked my best friend, who just shook his head.

"Naw, got a date in the woods." A grin crept onto my face. "Who's the lucky bastard?"

"Gentlemen, don't kiss and tell, my friend.", he answered, which was a big giveaway that it had to be some closeted dude, perhaps one of the other princes again. It was quite funny actually how Gillian fucked almost a third of campus, but not a single one of them spoke to him in public.

Gil didn't mind; he liked how their eyes would follow him when he walked through the corridors, at least that's what he tells if asked about. But I had known him since our early childhood, and I was certain he was hurt about a few of them, who he actually really liked. But being gay was disapproved by most of Auradon's dynasties, leaving the boy little to no chance actually of being in a real relationship.

"Have fun and stay safe!" I laughed before jogging off after one last look at Adison, who was staring off into the unknown again. I shook my head, still grinning, when I left the crowd behind, entering the holy halls of Auradon prep, which were refreshingly cool compared to the outside. I rounded a corner, minding my own business, which usually meant daydreaming, a trait I inherited from my mother, both hands in the pockets of my shorts when someone suddenly spoke to me: "Oi, you!"

I stopped, blinked, and returned to reality as I noticed the four VKs and the prince beast with his girlfriend looking at me.

"We want him to show us around," the purple-haired girl demanded, catching me off guard.

"Excuse me...what?" I asked, puzzled, eyebrows raised to infinity, looking at every one of them until my gaze settled on Ben, who smiled.

"Sure, Max will love to help Dough show you around school, right Max?" I blinked again, trying to remember the last time Ben spoke to me.

"They will fit together just perfectly.", Audrey beamed, tucking at the hem of Ben's sleeve.

"What?" I repeated, still not understanding what they wanted from me.

"Showing them the dorms, the school, looking out for them the next days.", Ben listed while watching me expectantly.

"Sure?" I said, which came out more as a question than as a statement.

"Wonderful." Then he let Audrey pull him away, leaving me with the four new kids, staring at them helplessly.

I've never been a very social person; I always preferred to stick to the ones I know best, stripped down to mostly Gil and Ad and sometimes the boys from the band, who weren't exactly popular either. And I sure as hell had absolutely no idea where to start a tour.

"You're a prince?" the blue-haired girl pulled me out of my thoughts, blinking at me with her long lashes.

"Ehmm, yes." I cleared my throat.

"Splendid!" smiled, and that was by far the most glowing smile I'd ever seen.

"That's prince Max; he's the son of Queen Arielle and King Eric.", Dough explained from his place on the staircase.

"Uhh, you're a mermaid?" the girl asked excitedly.

"No, thank god, no!" I chuckled. Then she held her hand out to me.

"My name's Evie, daughter of the evil queen." I shook her hand, which was surprisingly soft.

"And these are Mal, daughter of Maleficent," she pointed at the purple girl, who just nodded.

"Jay, son of Jaffar.", finally putting a name on Gil's claim.

"And Carlos, son of Cruella." she closed, and the smaller boy whose hair which got the hell bleached out of it gave me a friendly smile.

"Hi." I waved at the three awkwardly. "So.. where are we supposed to start...Dough?" I asked the son of droopy, who looked down on a list in his hands.

"Dorms?" he thought out loud. "Dorms.", I agreed.
