I didn’t even have time to talk to Aracelia before her and Seraphiel flew off.
I guess that’s one thing I regretted today. I have fought Demons, but none of them ever made me nervous like Senka Dashwood. I took the gold rosary out of my shirt and tighten my hand around it, praying for God to be on our side. Just because I didn’t want to become a priest doesn’t mean I don’t have any faith.
I think she was avoiding me though.
“Ahh!” I heard Courtney and I turned my head around to see her shaking her hand, the bottle of water that was blessed falling from her hand. She brought her hand up to my mouth and blew on her burned hand.
I turned around all the way and scoffed, “You really just didn’t pure this on yourself.”
“I wanted to see if it really worked.” she said. “Ouch. It burns like a mother fucker.” she said.
“Courtney.” Carter said in a warning tone to his young niece.
“And haven’t you ever heard curiously killed the cat?” I asked, making her pout and give me a snotty ‘whatever’ look any normal teenager would give.
I heard a beeping sound and Leo held the walkie-talkie up as Seraphiel voice came out, “He made it in, I can see him. I see Senka walking down the staircase.”

I walked back in the room, “Where is Haidar?” I asked Hadrian. “All day, I haven’t seen him.”
“And you care?” he asked, setting the book in his hand down. He snorted, “Probably off flirting with the girls in town.
“Where he could be is important to me.” I said. “My sister—“
“Is safely at home with three Angels protecting her.” he said. He walked over to me, “Haidar is an asshole, but Senka told him to stay from her. He wouldn’t go against his orders.”
“Are you sure?” I asked and he nodded.
I opened my mouth to speak but I was cut off by Senka loud voice happily speaking, “Oh my, oh my, oh my. What a nice surprise visit. Oh! Let me guess, you’re Uriah Berkovitz, son of Jada. She was supposingly a Wise Angel, one of the few who helped the Archangel strategize for battles.”
Did he just say Uriah name? Hadrian looked down at me with the same confused looked before I turned around and we walked out of the room. We went down the hallway and standing at the staircase rail, I looked down at the living room where I saw my Israeli cousin standing in the living room.
What is he doing here? I know he couldn’t have just walked out the house, got on a plane, and came here. Why would he do that anyways? That is a suicide mission to come here. There’s a plan, I know it. I just don’t know what that plan is and I’m sure I’m not going to figure it out until it happens. Uriah looked up at me, giving me a blank look on his face only for two seconds before looking back at Senka.
“What brings you here, Uriah?” Senka asked.
“I’m sure you know.” Uriah said, bringing his hand up and tapped the side of his head.
Senka chuckled, “What a bold move, a brave one also. I give you allot of credit. Come with me to my office.”

“I’m hungry.” I said randomly since it had gone quiet and it was true. The sun was already down and nothing has gone down yet. Senka villa was only right outside of town and the town was only two miles away. We had to wait until Seraphiel and Aracelia call us in and it’s been awhile.
Dante scoffed and Uncle Carter gave me a look, “Seriously Courtney?”
I shrugged, “My stomach bigger than you all.” Nick held out an apple towards me and I forced him a smile, taking it and quickly ate it. My phone then went off and everyone groaned, giving me an annoyed look. I shrugged, “What now?”
“You brought a phone with you?” Dante asked coldly. “We’re on a recuse mission, not a vacation!”
“Well excuse me for wanting to make sure my mom knows I’m alright!” I coldly said back as I took my phone out and saw a privet number. My eyebrows furrowed together as I swiped the answer button and brought the phone up to my ear, walking away from the group so I could hear better, “Hello?”
I didn’t hear anyone on the other end and I was beginning to wonder if something butt dialed me until I heard light breathing on the other side.
“Hello? Who is this?” I asked.
“Courtney,” I heard a voice finally that made my blood turn cold, my back stiffen as my eyes widen. “My love, why’d you try to kill me?”
My bad made a quick turn in my stomach and I felt sick, like I wanted to throw up badly at the moment and my hand started to shake, the phone moving away from my ear as the apple fell out of my hand. I managed to speak threw the lump in my throat, “You’re dead.” I mumbled.
“No, you thought I was dead.” Haidar said. “And I would have been if you just aimed a little bit better my love.” I could hear my heart beat quicken in my chest and when I felt someone put their hand on my shoulder, I reacted. I grabbed his arm with my free hand and I turned, quickly bring my foot out and knocked him down. Uncle Carter fill to the ground, looking up with me surprised and my mouth dropped, my hand flying up to my mouth. Haidar chuckled over the phone, “Not me.”
I was finding it hard to breath, knowing he could see me but I couldn’t see him.
“Courtney?” I heard behind me, which was Dante voice.
“Where are you?” I asked coldly as I twirled around, looking for him.
“Look to your right.” he said and I did as he said. I looked to my right where I could see the lights of the sign flashing of the motel we were staying at. My blood turned cold again since there was one person there that made me more scared for then my own life. “I want you to come alone.”
“You know they won’t let me.” I coldly said. “Leave.”
“Come alone or I’ll kill him.” he said.
“Haid—“I started to yell but he hung up. My hand tighten around my phone so hard it crack and broke, being crushed from my hands. I cried out in anger and threw the phone aside. I saw someone run passed me and I quickly spoke, “No!” I yelled, making Victurus paused and turned to me confused. “I have to go.”
He snorted and turned back around, starting to run again. I ran towards him and grabbed him, pushing him against a building, “Let go!”
“I need to go!” I yelled at him. He reached around and grabbed my hair, pulling me away from him and slammed me against the wall. “Victurus!” I yelled and looked around as people from the town watched. “You need to listen to me, he doesn’t want anyone to come back but me. If you come, he’ll kill Rafael.”
“Why?” he asked coldly, but I could hear the panic in his voice for his son.
“Because he’s the one who took me, I’m like this because of him.” I said. “He’s angry at me because I tried to kill him. I won’t let anything happen to Rafael, I promise.”
“He’s going to die because of you!” he coldly said, pressing me harder against the wall. “I knew you wouldn’t be good for him. I won’t lose my son because of you.”
“You won’t.” I said. “Let me go.”
I could feel his hands tighten around my shoulders, debating with himself if it was a good idea. I knew it was because he was worried sick about Rafael and his safety. Victurus wanted only one thing in the world and that’s to protect Rafael. It’s why he kept the whole Nephilim thing from Rafael until Senka came along. But he’s wasting time thinking.
“Please Courtney, don’t let him die.” he begged, letting go of me and I ran.

“Make a deal?” I angrily asked Uriah as I walked over to him and grabbed his arm, making him look at me. “Have you lost your mind? What about your fiancée? You’re parents?”
“The others are more important.” he said. “Nellie, Saya, Gaspar, Little Damini—we all have proposes in the world Nevaeh.”
“A powerful sacrifice Uriah.” Senka said and I coldly glared at him before looking at Uriah, shaking my head.
“I’ll save them, you, all of you.” I said to him. “You’re propose if to get married, live your life Uriah.”
“And what? Go back to Tel Aviv and live like none of this happen? You already have a child on his way, Nevaeh. This gives you more time to be with him.” he said.
“Well I don’t want you to.” I said. “I didn’t ask you to—“
“And I didn’t ask you either.” he said coldly. “It’s not just for you, Nevaeh. It’s for all of us. He’ll leave them alone if he has me for awhile. Gives you all more years to lives. I’m willing to do this.”
I placed my hand in his and put my other hand over the top of his hand, giving him a begging look since I didn’t want anyone to die because of me, “Uriah, please—“
He looked away, “Can someone take her away.”
“Hadrian, you heard him.” he said and I felt Hadrian hands go on my arms, pulling me away from Uriah. Senka got up from his chair and walked behind Uriah, a grin on his face as he reached up and made Uriah tilt his head. He wouldn’t look away from me though, mocking me because he knew it would scare me to watch.
“No!” I yelled, fighting for Hadrian to let go. I knew deep down Hadrian wouldn’t really let me leave unless it was because a good reason. Probably because he doesn’t want me to watch but it still angered me for him making me leave.
Senka placed his hand on Uriah shoulder and just like that he bit Uriah. Uriah took in a sharp breath in, his brown eyes widen. Hadrian pulled me out of the room with the door along with it and he forced me around, putting his arm around me tightly, pressing me closely to him as tears fell down my face. All I heard next was a crashing side. Hadrian made me bent down to my knees and he covered his body over mine as I cried out.
I heard everyone yelling and glass moving as Hadrian pulled me away from him to look down at me, “Nevaeh?”
I looked up at him, “It happened again, didn’t it?” I asked as I looked around. We were right next to a large window since it was mostly like a glass villa. Broken glass was everyone, not just one large window was smashed, but all of them. Being concerned for Uriah, Azariah must have felt that and got all concerned.
“Yes. Are you alright?” he asked.
I opened my mouth to answer yes until I heard the door to Senka office open. Hadrian pulled me up as we watched Senka lean against the door, his hand on his chest as he breathed hard. Hadrian held me close to him as he pulled us away as Senka stumbled.
The door to the room Alma was in opened and she ran over, bleeding from some places but something that could harm her, just scratches but she was still scared.
Uriah came over to the door, leaning against it with his hand against his throat. He glared at Senka who glared back.
I was so confused.
“Holy water?” Senka coldly asked Uriah before he looked at Alma and held his hand out. As if someone pushed her, she fell to the ground on her side and she cried in pain since she landed on some pieces of glass. She brought her hand up to her throat, coughing and making gagging sound.
I broke out of Hadrian arms, “Stop it” I yelled, punching him in the face. Everyone downstairs gasped since Senka wasn’t even paying attention, no one expected him to take it and actually react. Neither did I but he did. Holy water he said though, I looked at Uriah whose hand was at his throat where he was bleeding still before he fell on his knees.
I ran over towards Alma to help her up but some forced pushed me away and out of the building onto the balcony. “Leilah!” I heard Hadrian yelled.
I lifted my head just a little to see a pair of feet landing a few feet away from me. I saw a familiar pair of brown boots and I looked up higher to see Aracelia bending down, taking my arms and helping me up. I didn’t even get to speak before she took me in her arms, hugging the air out of me.
“Stefan?” I heard Alma.
“Get him!” I heard Senka voice coldly yell.
I pushed myself away from Aracelia and she looked confused, “What?”
“You knew about Hadrian.” I said before turning and ran back inside the villa. I looked down the hallway to see Hadrian grabbing his sister by her hair and slammed her face down against the rail of the staircase. She reached her arms back and grabbed his shirt, throwing him over the rail.
Seraphiel held a Demon by his throat and drove a sword threw his chest before walking over to me. He took my arm and pulled me over towards Alma, “What are you doing?” I coldly asked.
He held his hand down for Alma to take and she reached her up, placing her hand in his. He lifted her up swiftly and pulled us towards the room I was in. He pushed me in and softly urged Alma to go in.
“What are you doing?” I coldly asked again since he was blocking my path to get out. He took off the dagger holster and held it out towards me.
“You both stay here.” he said, placing it on the table next to the door before stepping out of the room, slamming the door closed. I quickly tried opening it, but I saw something gold forming around the crease of the door, sealing the door shut. I touched it, it was warm and if I didn’t have this crazy thought—I really thought it was gold.
+Aracelia.+
I looked over the rail and saw a blonde Demon beating Hadrian. I looked down the hallway to see Seraphiel walking away from the door he put Nevaeh and Alma in. I looked back over the rail before jumping over it. My feet landed gracefully on the ground next to them. I grabbed the girl, throwing her against the wall and when she turned, I brought my foot up and kicked her. She fell, passed out on the ground.
“Get up!” I yelled at Hadrian, blocking the Demon who came after me. He was hard to fight off though and it didn’t help that another one came up behind me, grabbing me. I lifted my feet up, kicking the Demon in front of me away. He bared his shark like teeth angrily and I rolled my eyes. I reached into my holster that was around my thigh and stabbed it in the Demon holding me by my arms thigh. I lifted my foot and slammed it down on his. His hold loosened and I grabbed the knife, lifting my arm and plunged it in his throat then his heart.
I twisted around and threw the knife at the other Demon chest. Something hit my side, making me fall, and I cried in pain as a stinging pain rose in my right arm. I lifted my head to see a large foot and half long black stinger in my arm with ridges. My reached up and wrapping my arm around it, the sharp ridges piecing my skin as I forced the weapon out.
A large Demon came in front of me and bent down, grabbing me by my jean jacket and lifted me up, slamming my back against the staircase. The Demon had a tail and it came up, wrapping around my throat. I took in a deep breath, not struggling since I knew it wouldn’t help.
Then I heard the sounds of guns.
The Demons hand and tail let go of me. I fell down to my knees and I started coughing. I lifted my head, seeing the others finally made it. I crawled over to Hadrian who seemed to pass out and I slapped his face, “Hey! Hadrian, wake up” I said as I shook him. I heard a whooshing sound and I looked up, to see a Demon who could teleport bring more Demons here. I looked back down at Hadrian, lifting him up, “Hadrian Falco, wake up!” I said as I shook him.
His eyes then open as he looked at me and he looked freaked out, “Well,” he said, sounding disappointed. “This is an unexpected turn of evants.”
I huffed heavily, “Just get up, or can you after getting your ass kicked by a girl?” I asked and he gave me a cold look, but I didn’t let him answer. I grabbed a sword and placed it in his hand, “I only saved you for Nevaeh sakes.” I said, getting up quickly and he fell, hitting his head and he groaned, rubbing the back of his head as he got up.
