I woke up to the sound of people talking and the feeling in my throat like I was going to throw up. I opened my eyes enough to look through my lashes.
“I can't do anything about it now, Senka.” a women said in a thick Spanish accent I'm guessing. “It spread throw her body already, all I can do is clean it up now. She'll survive, but now she'll have to survive in this world.”
“Alright, Daciana.” I heard Senka.
I felt someone touch my back and something was being pulled off my body. I started screaming since it felt like thick needles being pulled out of it. “Hold her down!” I heard the women said. I felt someone grab my arms and legs, holding them down and my body wasn't thrashing around anymore.
“Stop it!” I screamed like bloody murder, hot tears running down my face.
She didn't stop though, just keep pulling something out of my back. It felt like it was going on forever and if the pain wasn't keeping me awake, I would have passed out by now. I could feel her finger digging into something in my back which was only worse. Not having the strength to scream, my cheek pressed against something cold. Tears raced down my face, just wanting to pass out now. She finally stopped, “There, all finish. They should heal on their own fairly quickly, make sure to feed her soon but give her these now.”
Senka came in front of me with a wine glass with something dark red in it. He bent down and smiled at me, “Hey Courtney, how you feeling?” I just stared at him, not able to talk or move. I was so confused and in pain. He nodded and reached his free hand over, moving my hair away me and petted my head, “I know it hurt, but you shouldn't have done something so stupid. Be lucky Daciana wasn't to far or you would have died.” He put his hand under my cheek that was pressed against the cool hard surface and he lifted it up, “Drink this, you'll feel better.”
I whimpered, shaking my head.
“Hey,” he said as he stopped my head and give me a hard look. “Don't worry, it's nothing that's going to hurt you. Actually, it does the opposite so drink.” He brought it to my mouth and I felt the thick liquid pour into my mouth. He made my head tilt back and it ran down my throat, so I just swallowed the thick drink. I could feel it slid down the side of my mouth.
It tasted bitter at first, but the more I drank the more good it became. Like drinking a fruit berry smoothie. I didn't realize how thirsty I was until I reached my shaky hand up and took it from him, gulping the rest down. The stinging pain in my back eased up a little. It still hurt, but it was bearable. My shaky hand moved the glass and it feel out of my hand, falling to the floor and smashed.
I looked at Senka, “S-sorry.”
He chuckled, “It's alright.”
“W-what happened?” I asked.
He shook his head, “Let not worry about that right now, you should sleep. You had an eventful night.”
I heard a buzzing sound as if it was right next to my ear. I turned my head to look at a lamp light on the desk and I saw a fly buzzing around it. My eyes squinted as I watched it fly around. Why'd it sound so clearly in my ears?
I heard a crashing sound like a wave hitting the rocks outside and my head thrashed to look to my left and I could look out the window, seeing the lake and the water hitting the rocks. It was also so perfectly clear as if I was standing on one of the rock. Loud and powerful.
I turned my head to look at Senka, “What happened to me?” I said more coldly.
He grinned, petting my hair, “Oh Courtney, you just made this game between your sister and I much more interesting. It's going to suck to you for about awhile, but I'm sure you'll grow to like it. If Haidar hadn't gotten Scarlet—which I may say, you wont have to be worrying about anymore—off you, she would have eaten you alive. She had bit you on the shoulder,” he said as he pointed at my shoulder. “You see, a type of Lycan Scarlet was is she can give the gift of Lycanthrope to humans. It spread threw your body so quickly that Daciana couldn't get rid of it and after it spreads, there's no getting rid of it no matter what.”
My hands balled into a tight face and my teeth bared, “So—I'm not even human anymore?”
He shrugged, “Technically, no. Will you age like a normal human? Yes, you'll still grow and do normal humans things but you're still a Lycan. You have all the gifts of ones and still be human, you have the best of both worlds. Also have the cons like every full moon you'll shift and have the need to kill. We can tame you though.” he said as he patted my cheek as I glared heavily at him.
He stood up and Haidar came over, smirking down at me. I didn't stop glaring at him as he lowered himself down to my level, “I'm impressed, you were brave my love.”
“Go to hell, Haidar.” I snapped.
His nose scrunched, “Whoa, hold off on the blood breath.”
My eyes widen and I took in a sharp breath, my hand coming up to my mouth. Disgust filled my stomach now that I know what I had just drank and thought it was delicious.

I could feel Hadrian eyes on me as we walked throw the forest. He was behind me and I could feel his eyes on the back of my head. I was nervous to though, I wasn't sure what to expect really when we got there. It was almost nighttime, the best time to attack.
I saw Victurus and Aracelia coming the opposite way to meet us. They looked a little stressed, but that's how they looked before they went ahead earlier to look around. Victurus sighed, “Okay, so he,” he said as he looked at Hadrian quickly, “was right according to both of the drawing he drew. It is across a lake—a big lake. No bridges or ways to get threw other than a boat. His mansion is on an isle. Now we know how he's been hiding, he runs every cartel in Mexico and they've been keeping him safe.”
“So how are we suppose to get across it without being noticeable.” Nick asked.
“Easy,” Dante said. “Wait until it get real dark and we swim across.”
“Swim?” Uncle Carter asked, clearing his throat nervously.
Dante arched his eyebrow, “What's the matter? Can't swim?”
Uncle Carter glared at him, “Of course I can swim—I just don't.”
“Why's that, huh?” he asked, tilting his head.
“Shut up, Dante.” I said. I knew why Uncle Carter didn't, after once when I was thirteen and was begging for him to come into the community pool, he told me he almost drowned once when he went to the beach when he was twenty-five. The waves were strong and pushed him under the water, making him hit his head on a rock in the water pretty hard. He was pulled out into the water and a boat had to be sent out to get him. He's been very caution ever since. “Bad accident once.”
“Well we all have to go out there.” Dante scoffed as he held his hand out towards the direction where Senka home was.
“I'll take the guns over, some of them won't work if their wet.” Aracelia said. “Want me to carry you to, Carter?”
Uncle Carter gave her a 'whatever' look and scoffed, “Shut up, Aracelia. I'll be fine.”
“Good.” she said. She walked over to me and grabbed my arm, pulling me away from the crowd. She pulled me over to where a tree had fallen and she made me sit down. I thought about asking her what she was doing, but knowing Aracelia she'll never give me a straight answer. She took my long hair out of the ponytail, “You should be making this less to grab.” she said and I felt her fingers brush threw my hair as she grabbed strains.
“I don't know how to do anything else.” I said. “My french braids are lousy.”
“Well lucky for you I can do good ones.” she said as she braided my hair. She didn't speak for a moment and I sighed when she did because I knew where she was going, “Stay close to my side, alright?”
“I'll be with Hadrian.” I said.
“Looks like he'll need someone protecting him to.” she said. “He looks pretty weak looking.”
“That's just appearance.” Hadrian said as he came over. “Trust me, I can take care of Nevaeh.”
“I doubt that.” Aracelia said.
“Stop it!” I coldly said. “You two been at it for the last two days and I'm tired of the fighting and name calling. I'll be fine, stop treating me like I'm a child. I don't need your—any of yours eyes on me as if I was a child near the road playing. I'm not going to cross it. We're not here for me, we're here for my sister.”
“It's not going to be easy taking her.” Hadrian said. “Haidar is probably going to be near her.”
“He's the first on my to kill list.” I said.
“None of you should look into his eyes.” Hadrian said to the group. “He can make you do whatever he wants, kill whoever he wanted you to kill.”
“Lets not get tempted like Eve did.” Dante sarcastically said as he rolled his eyes.

I had the palms of my hands covering my eyes from the light, “I hate it here.” I groaned.
“Eat your food, Courtney.” Senka said.
“Tell me what it is first.” I said. I dropped my hands and looked at the raw piece of meat on the plate in front of me, “I'm not eating it anyways, it's not cooked.”
Haidar put his hands on the plate and pushed it closer to me, “Come on, my love. Doesn't it look delicious? Bloody and meaty.”
I turned my head to him, growling since he was getting on my last nerve, “Gross.” I said and the Senka court chuckled. Truth was, it did look so delicious and good. It smelled so good like meat should and my mouth was watering. I was to scared though from what it was. It looked like normal steak meat, but why is there this feeling in my stomach that it really isn't.
Haidar grinned, “Eat it.” he said. He picked up the meat with his bare hands and brought it closer to my face, but I grabbed his wrist and slammed his hand down on the table.
I bared my teeth, “No!” I coldly said.
When I thought he would get angry, his grinned just widen, “Do it, I dare you.”
I started to breath heavily out my nose and for some reason, I felt very defenses. I felt threatened and all I wanted to do was attack Haidar. I remember learning in English class about a small report on wolves that when they feel threaten, they'll attack anyone.
Haidar chuckled, “Don't be scared.” I opened my mouth to speak when my stomach growled. Haidar looked down at my stomach and chuckled, “Eat it, you haven't eaten yet. Don't worry what it is, just fill your hunger. Don't be scared.”
I pressed my lips tightly together as I stared down at the piece of meat in his hand. I swallowed the hard lump in my throat and took it from him, quickly bring it to my mouth and bit into it. I could taste the cold blood which wasn't so good, but made the piece of meat tasty like seasoning as I ripped off a piece and chewed on it. I quickly chewed on it and ripped off another piece, making weird animal noises as I ate it.
I didn't feel any regret until after I finished the last piece and I looked down at my bloody hands. My heart beat raced and I snatched the cloth napkin on the table, wiping my hands.
“Do you still wanna know what meat it was?” Senka asked amused.
I shook my head, “No.”
“Tonight is going to be a good night, Courtney.” Senka said and I looked at him, confused. He was smirking, “We're all going to be together.”
