"Go in." Hadrian said and I shook my head. "Nevaeh, don't be scared. Don't be ashamed."

"I'm not, I'm nervous." I said. "What if my mom starts yelling at me?"

"So what if she does. She'll yell then stop. You're an adult, you can make your own decisions." he said.

"I-I think we should wait until we get Courtney back. Yeah, we'll do that." I said.

"We need a marriage license meaning you need your social security card and birth certificate." he said.

"And what about you? I'm sure your ancient birth certificate scroll won't help." I said as I crossed my arms over my chest.

"I got all my new documents." he said. "Should I go in first and announce it?"

"No." I said. "I—I can do it."

I turned and opened the front door. I said good morning but I only got a response back from Dante. I found my mom and Uncle Carter in the kitchen and I kissed their cheeks. I brought my hands ups and nervously played with them, hoping one of them would notice the ring.

"How is you're morning?" I asked.

They both quickly looked suspicious, "What's going on?" Uncle Carter asked as he looked at Hadrian next to me and then me again.

I shrugged, "Nothing. . ." I said as I brought my left hand up to my hair and ran my hand threw it.

"Jeez this is painful." Hadrian said sarcastically as he took my hand and held it out towards them. My mom eyes widen as the mug in her hand dropped and Uncle Carter started coughing since he breathed in too quickly. "We need help getting a marriage certificate."

"What's going on?" Nellie asked as she came in.

Uncle Carter grabbed Hadrian arm before pulling him into the entryway of the house and I heard them arguing. I gave my mom a smile as she stared at me with a shock expression and the smile soon dropped from my face.

“So,” I said as the others came into the kitchen. “Sleep well?”

“Don't change the subject!” my mom said a little loud which I expected. “Nevaeh, you are only eighteen years old.”

I shrugged, “What would make the difference in five or ten years?”

“You two are going way too fast.” she said. “This isn't the fifteenth century where people meet and get married a week later.”

“That isn't like Hadrian and me though.” I said. I heard a door slam and I jumped as I looked to my right to find where Dante was empty and I saw him walking away from the house from the kitchen window. I bit the inside of my right cheek as I turned to my mom, “It's different, and even we're having a baby.”

“Honey, I think you should really think about this more. It's so out of the blue, don't you think?” she asked. “Okay, you're engaged. A wedding doesn't need to happen this quickly. We could hold off on the court house, right? Maybe after the baby born?”

“Baby? What baby?” I heard Aracelia behind me and my back stiffened. I didn't dare turn around since something in my gut turned and I got this bad feeling in my stomach. I forced my legs to turn me around and she looked at me with a hard look on her face. “Nevaeh?”

I opened my mouth and looked at the blonde man next to her. He had a little girl next to him with the tannest skin I ever seen on a blonde. She had a purple robe around her head and she looked up at me with such curiosity.

The entryway door opened and I turned my head to see Hadrian coming out, but once he seen Aracelia his eyes widen and he turned to go back into the room, but Uncle Carter pushed him. Hadrian glared at him before smiling at Aracelia, “Hey, how was India?”

“That's the Demon?” the blonde man asked Aracelia and she nodded as she put her purse on the island.

“You really want to die, don't you?” she asked Hadrian.

Hadrian scoffed, “Of course not.”

“Aracelia, please let me—“

“Quiet.” she said to me and I lowered my head. “How far along?”

“Twelve weeks on Tuesday.” I said.

“How is that even possible?” she asked, scoffing.

“Aracelia,” my mom said. “We can't do much about it now, the baby coming.”

Aracelia head quickly turned to her and she snorted, “That thing growing in Nevaeh stomach is not a baby, it's a weapon.”

Hadrian face harden and he started walking over to her, “Don't you say that about my child—“ he cut himself off when I grabbed his arm and pulled him behind me.

“And the little thing must take after you.” she said to Hadrian. “It visited me a few nights ago.”

“What?” I questioned as I placed my hand over my stomach.

“Yeah, I thought it was Senka playing a cruel joke but its worse.” she said coldly.

“It's my baby, Aracelia.” I said and she looked at me with the same cold look. “You can't do anything about that, I'm keeping him.”

She scoffed, “Nevaeh, that thing will kill you when you give birth maybe. And Senka will want him, to use him. That thing doesn't just take after Hadrian, it will take after me. Want to know what Stormborn stands for? I can cause storms if I wanted to, that child will be able now that its soul is powered by both Demon and Angel.”

“Doesn't mean he'll be bad.” I said. “You've seen him, he's a nice boy.”

“It's a Combion.” she said.

“And a Nephilim.” I said. “And my child, your grandchild.”

She ran her hand threw her hair, “How'd did this happen? God, this shouldn't be happening to you Nevaeh. We need to get it out, we'll save it from Senka. He wants him, don't you know? Senka will use everything in his power to get his hands on it and use him a weapon. Please don't be stubborn and just listen to me once.”

My mom went in front of me, “Aracelia, that's enough.”

“Sierra, move. Let me deal with this with my daughter.” Aracelia said.

“She's my daughter to.” my mom said. “And you won't be talking to her like that. It's her decision to have this baby. A baby, a real baby. Not some gun or knife. A living thing who Nevaeh is already attached with.”

“Can we hold off on this for a moment?” Uncle Carter asked as he walked over to Aracelia. He held his arm up to her, “What does that say?”

She looked at his arm and her eyebrows furrowed together, “Who is Nalani?” she questioned. She suddenly took in a sharp breath and she turned to face the other, counting them, “Nellie, Saya, Uriah, Rafael, Damini,” she turned to me and pointed at me, “Nevaeh.  . .where is Gaspar?” she asked.

Victurus and the blonde man eyes widen.

“Where is Courtney?” she asked. “Oh God, I sent Gaspar on a plane a week ago!”

“And thankfully I know where he might be.” Hadrian said. Aracelia turned and gave him a look to continue, “Ah, but first you got promise you won't freak out when I tell you something.”

“Fine.” she said without thinking.

Hadrian chuckled, “I'm going to be your son-in-law.”

Aracelia started screaming and hitting things.

I brought the bottle of beer up to my mouth and took a sip as I watched the race cars on TV drive. I broke a pistachio shell and put it in the mouth. I don't know how long I have been in the bar, maybe a good few hours. I finally let off the steam coming off from my body and decided I didn't want to leave just yet.

I saw someone in the corner of my eyes sit next to me and I turned to see Carter. “Corona please.” he said to the bar tender. “You missed out on a whole big argument with Aracelia and Hadrian.”

“If she didn't kill him, I'm not interested in knowing what happen.” I said as I broke another pistachio and put it in my mouth.

“Well I thought you would like to know we leave for Mexico tomorrow, gotta go to Nayarit. How many beers have you drank?” he asked.

“Seven.” I said. “I'll wake up, just not ready to go back to the insane house. Too many people there.”

“Is that the reason?” he asked and I shrugged. It was true, there were seven people there and more people just came, I rather just go to a motel and stay there. I hate crowded placed and being around allot of people. “You sure it's not because of the news with Hadrian and Nevaeh.”

“Why would I care?” I asked as I grabbed my bottle of Heineken and took a sip. “It's pretty ridiculous since he's a Demon, but hey, she wants to ruin her life go on ahead.”

He chuckled, “Oh Dante, I may be hitting my forties but I am not stupid. You are in love with Nevaeh.”

“What?” I asked, laughing as I looked at him. I broke the shell off the pistachio and put it in my mouth, “That girl makes me want to rip my hair out.”

“Just because you're not reading poems or being all soft doesn't mean you aren't in love.” he said. “I know, I was your age once and was the same way. You just have a wall of protection up.”

“I'm not in love with anyone.” I said as I grabbed the bottle and took another sip. “Don't you know, I only love myself?”

“You just said she wants to make you rip your hair out.” he said. The bar tender put the bottle of Corona in front of him and he took it, bring it up to his mouth.

“Because the girl is crazy.” I said.

“That's love.” he said and I scoffed. “And if Hadrian didn't come back in her life, she probably would have fell in love with you back. I remember the first day you two meet, she's only that shy around guys she likes.”

“That feels like it was such a long time ago.” I said and he nodded. “I'm still not in love with her though. I . . . I can't love.”

“Says who?” he asked. “Because of your past? You think that means you're incapable of loving?”

“This priest thing is becoming a much brighter idea as I sit here listening to you.” I said and he chuckled. I sighed and took the last sip from of beer from the bottle, slamming it down on the counter, “Okay, so maybe I do a little in a way maybe love—Nevaeh. I can deal with her pregnancy, but if she marries—him, I don't know. I don't want to think about it.”

“If I didn't respect my nieces decision on who she wants to be with, I would have been fine with you with her.” he said. “But she's with someone else, so all I can say is I feel bad for ya Dante. Unrequited love sucks.” he said as he patted my back.

Courtney?” I heard behind me and I turned my head around to see Hadrian. “Senka been blocking me out.”

Gaspar here.” I said and he nodded. “I don't know where we are, we're near some lake like a peninsula.”

He came in front of me, “You look horrible, kid” he said as he kneel in front of me so we were face to face. “No offense.”

You don't look so great either.” I said and he chuckled. “How is everyone at home?”

Your mom misses you, but she's hanging in there.” he said. “I figured out where you might be. You might be in Mexico in a state called Nayarit. Hear anyone mention that?”

No, everyone here speaks in different languages to each other and not allot of people here talk to me other than Senka, Haidar, and your sister.”

You've met Lailah?” he asked, raising an eyebrow and didn't look so happy about that. He sighed heavily, “Has she done anything to you?”

Other than be a totally bitch—don't tell my mom I cursed—no, she hasn't.” I said. “How are you guys going to find me? How big is Nayarit?”

Not very, but still enough.” he said. He reached up, “But hold still, I'll go inside your memory. Think of what the place looks like, kid.” He placed his hands on the temples of her forehead and he gave her an encouraging nod. She closed her eyes and pictures the landscape of Senka home. It was coming in flashes. Green grass lands with a lake about a hundred years away, the water crashing against the rocks. Mountains in the back with clouds above it.

The imagine went away, “I-I can't seem to bring it up very clear.”

“I saw it.” he said. “Take me to what the manor looks like on the outside”

I showed in again not very clear of the white manor on the outside. It was a little older, but the building was still very beautiful. I had been buy a pool the first time so I could get a good view of everything, but I betting Senka wanted that. He wanted me to be able to show Hadrian everything. This was his sick game. He wanted everyone to come to him, not him having to go to them.

Good, good.” Hadrian said as he took his hands away. “We're leaving in the morning, should take us a few days to get there. Hang on there, kid.”

Have been for the last week and half.” I sighed heavily and he chuckled.

Your sister would be glad to know you're being strong.” he said.

“I'm having another party tomorrow night.” Senka announced excitedly. “A ball, a grand one. Everyone can come, I don't care. I need a celebration.”

“Celebration?” Gaspar asked coldly. “Of what?”

“For my new guest.” Senka chuckled as he leaned back in his chair and brought his feet up onto the table and lit the cigar in his mouth. “And Gaspar, you haven't touch your food. Eat, build your strength. I'll have my dear friend Patrick come and size you up for your suit. And don't worry Courtney, I haven't forgotten about you. The most beautiful dress is being made for you. I thought you would like something else other than red, so I thought Caribbean blue, will go perfectly on your skin tone.”

“Red looks wonderful on her.” Haidar said.

“Red is to boring for her now.” Senka said as he smoked from his cigar. “She needs something new, to wow the others.”

“But I like red on her.” Haidar said coldly. “She's mine, she should wear what I want her to wear.”

“Well to bad, she's my guest.” he said. Senka took his feet off the leaned and leaned on it, looking at me, “Don't you agree with me, Courtney? Something different is always fun and I have this dress being made probably more into your liking. I had my dress maker design something more of your taste for your age. Nothing to adult, you should enjoy what you wear. Be able to breath this time.”

Haidar grabbed my wrist under the table and squeezed a little. I cleared my throat, “Thank you.”

“I still say red will look beautiful on her.” Haidar said. “Shouldn't be telling her what to do, that's my job.”

Senka turned his attention to Haidar, “Well to damn bad.” he said. Haidar gasped real hard and his hand tighten around my wrist, making me wince and try to pull my hand. He breathed real heavily and I cried a little as she tugged at him to let go. Haidar brought his other hand up to his head and yelled in pain as he squeezed his eyes shut. Black blood started to come out his ears, nose, and mouth.

“Senka—please!” he begged.

“Don't ever speak back to me again like that.” Senka ordered coldly. “Talk to me again like that, Courtney will have to have someone else to protect her around here.”

When Senka turned his attention back to me, he smiled. Haidar breathed out heavily and his hand loosened around my wrist, giving me the chance to snatch my wrist away and I rubbed where he was holding. I know I’m going to have a bruise later.
