"They’re not going to let us come in that easy." Dante said once we passed the Canadian border and he spoke loudly so Nick and Gavin who was in the car behind us could hear in the speaker of the phone. "We drive two more out Bloomsburg and sleep for the night. We'll drive another five hours tomorrow to Trention. We'll meet someone will take us to Saya. Now just to warn you all, not all of us coming probably. Saya trust me, but only because she wouldn't hesitate to kill me if I did anything. Don't take it personal, she's just not a people person. Hadrian, keep your mouth shut, she'll tell by your ancient accent and way of talking you're a Demon."
"I just want to be in a bed." I said as I yawned.
"Has peeing every hour made you sleepy?" Dante sarcastically asked and I glared and the back of his head.
Hadrian took my hand to grab my attention from. He patted his lap and I forced a smile as I laid down and placed my head on his lap. It was a little cramp, but I wasn't complaining. We've been driving around since ten o'clock and it's now almost ten at night. That's a whole half day in a cramp car.

I folded the blanket I had used to sleep in the Brownstone house. It was my first night and I already missed Rebekah. Our wedding was only a month away and this happened.
I wished my life wasn't so complicated.
I walked out into the hallway where I heard music playing. I didn't know who was singing though, I don't listen to English music.
"Oh," Nevaeh little sister, Courtney said when I appeared at the entrance. She forced a smile when she lift the pan up and showed me the slightly burned pancake, "Uh, I'm not the best cook but I promise it's delicious. Nellie still asleep upstairs, I wanted to surprise you both with a breakfast since my mom had to go to work."
I walked over to look at the stove and chuckled, "You have it on to high, lower the heat. They won't burn as quick than."
"Waiting is so long though." she groaned.
"Want it to taste good?" I asked and she threw the burnt pancake away.
"How do you even know what to do?" she asked as she lowered the heat on the burner and put some butter in the pan.
"My mother taught me, she taught me allot if things. Cooking was one thing I needed to learn when I went to college. She was angry with me when I left though. How does that saying go? Stay in school kid." I said.
"I don't know why I need school though, I'm not going to college. I'm going to train, be a Hunter like my father and sister." she said as she pour batter in the pan.
"Wait for bubbles to come." I said. "Seems like a dangerous job, though. You should stick with school."
"Nevaeh did it for the same reason as I am." she said. "He was my father to, he died because of a Demon. I can't forgive that."
"You should never let anger and revenge control your life. You can never move on." I said. "Flip."
She did as I said and her eyes widen as she looked down at the golden pancake, "Cool! So which parent is it? That's an Angel?"
"You’re a pretty curious kid." I said and she shrugged. "My mother. She met my father while he was in the army and they fell in love. Still in love."
"She teach you English to? You're pretty good at it." she said.
"Eh, she made me study hard in school." I said. "Must be hard on you, worried about your sister."
"We may fight, but I love her." she said. "Nevaeh was kept in the dark, made me less angry when I learned the truth that she wasn't my full sister, only half who's part Angel. Made me pretty envious of you."
"Envy is a sin, Courtney." I said. "It's finish." I said and she grabbed a plate, placing it on a plate. "See, patients is the key. And you aren't any less important, trust me. I don't know how Nevaeh feels but I felt like a freak most of my life. I had to move on though, find my place in this world. I will like three." I said as I walked out of the room.
I walked out onto the porch her I saw Junior, a Hunter. He was reading from a book until I had stepped out. “Everything okay?” he asked.
“You know, I had spent some time in the army, I got some training skill. You don't need to spend all day out here.” I said. I can take care of myself and the ladies here, I don't need to be watch over as if I'm child, my parents did too much of that to me as I grew up. Always one of them leaving with me when I left the house until I was fourteen. “I can watch over them, I'm sure you would like to be somewhere else.”
“Thanks, but I was told to stay and watch over you guys.” he said.
“I am twenty-six years old, I can take care of myself.” I said. “And the ladies here. Don't you have a wife or children?”
“Do you?” he asked as if he was really curious as he straighten his back. “I have a girlfriend, yes. No children yet though. We might as well talk, you seem bored.”
“I have a fiancée.” I said as I went over to the banister and lift myself up, sitting on it. “Rebekah, I couldn't even say goodbye before I left. I was told to hurry here.”
“Being a Hunter, you're only in a hurry.” he said. “What were you back in Israel?”
I shrugged, “This and that. At the moment I was building homes for the lower class.”
“Wow.” he said. “You're family rich?”
“In a way. My mother, she always had money that I never questioned but we has earned it all.” I said. “I was so hesitant to come here, but she pretty much pushed me on the plane. How much safe am I here than at home? I only came because I never met anyone like me before, Nellie and Nevaeh—we're all so much alike. The Lord is good in that way, bringing us together.”
“Could have done it in a different way.” he said. “I should have been the one going to Canada but my stubborn head brother made me trade. He's young though, so eager to fight. You have siblings?”
I shook my head, “No, it was a miracle my mother had me. I mean—I had from her but the last child she had was in the fourteenth century. Female Angels have a harder time having children.”
“Seems like she didn't keep any secrets from you.” he said.
“No, she has told me everything about this world.” I said. My back stiffen when I felt like there was someone watching me. Junior gave me a confused look but my senses were stronger than his. I looked down the street to see a black coming up and I got this bad feeling in pit of my stomach. It was suspicious, it was like my body knew because the air on my arm risen and goose bumps went down them.
I watched as the window went down as it came closer to the house and even before it was stuck out, I saw a gun. My eyes widen, “Get down!” I yelled as I fell to the floor right before I heard popping of guns. Glass smashed from the window as Junior fell on the floor next to me and cursed.
I heard Courtney screaming and another, probably Nellie who barley spoke to me, but her barley spoke at all to anyone yesterday.
“Go!” Junior yelled as pointed to the door and I nodded.
I didn't stand all the way up as I got up and ran towards the door, hoping I didn't get shot but the popping sounds of gunshot stopped but I didn't stop. I ran into the house to see Nellie holding Courtney with protective arms around her, them both bending down towards the floor. Both looked scared and Courtney started crying as she looked up at me.
I heard a car door slammed and I turned my head around to see two very large men getting out. Junior ran over to them both and started fighting them. I turned back to the girls and I ran over to them, “Where is your basement?” I asked a shaking Courtney. “Courtney! Focus, you need to tell me so I can get you both to safety.”
“Right there.” she said as she pointed behind her at the door building into the wall under the staircase.
I nodded and pushed them both up. I pushed them over to the door since they were both shaking and I opened the door, “Go down there and don't come up until I say it's safe.” I said.
“Wait!” Nellie said as Courtney went down first. “You need to come down with us, you need to stay safe to.”
“I can take care of myself.” I said. “Go! Now.”
I cut her off when she started to argue by closing the door on her, locking it and she pounded on it, telling me to open it now.
I heard Junior cry in pain and I looked down the hallway to see him being held down. I ran into the living room and going where Carter Brownstone said it would be just in case anything happen, if worse comes to open the third floor board the is behind the couch. I left the board out easily since I had nails and I saw an assault rifle. I grabbed it and as I got up, I set it up to use.
I heard someone walk into the house and I aimed out the living room. I held tightly onto the handle part to help me aim correctly and when I saw the Demon, I didn't hesitate to shot. It didn't kill him, but it was enough to catch him off guard. I ran over to him and I kicked him back into the wall.
I put the strap of the rifle around me so I could attack him. He blocked one blow though and he punched me around the face. I stumbled back even though it didn't really hurt, more because he was so large. He bared his teeth as he growled at me and I hit my arm up when he swung at me and I brought my other hand against his chest to punch him.
He wrapped his other hand around my throat very tightly and slammed my back against the wall. I tried to stop my breathing since it would only make this worse and I had to act kick. I brought my hand up to his face when he wasn't watching my hand and I gauged his right eye. He hissed as he cried in pain, letting of me. I grabbed the gun, bring it back in front of me and I aimed the gun at his chest, pulling the trigger until I saw blood splatter on the wall behind him only to make sure he was actually dead.
I almost forgot about the other Demon if I hadn't looked out in the corner of my eye. The Demon was holding Junior up in the air by his throat and Junior was struggling to get him to let go. I aimed the gun at the Demon head and pulled the trigger a few times. He dropped Junior who cried in pain when he landed on his arm.
The Demon came towards me and I only had one blue left that I waste when I pulled it. I cursed and took the gun strap off. I ran into the kitchen, going through draws. I felt him behind me when I pulled one out and saw a knife. It was a big knife.
I grabbed it right when he grabbed me. He slammed me down onto the counter and I panicked. I squeezed the knife in my hand as he pulled my black t-shirt aside from my neck and he bit into my shoulder. I cried out in pain and even almost dropped the knife but I gripped hard. I have never actually been bit by a Demon. It was surely painful and I didn't feel pain to much ever with anything.
I almost heard the bam sound like a door being burst opened. I saw Nellie appear at the entrance of the kitchen and I groaned. I told her to go down to the basement! Stubborn woman.
“Hey! Want a Nephilim?” she asked. “Come on, you ugly piece of shit.”
The Demon teeth pulled away from my shoulder and I fell to the floor since my legs had given out. Nellie put on a brave face but I could see in her eyes she was scared as she took a knife out of its pocket. Where'd she get that?
I was amazed to watch her start fighting with the Demon. The woman was strong, I guess I was wrong to say she wouldn't be any help. The Demon grabbed her arm though and threw her into the wall, making her hit her head. I forced myself up and decided to do it from behind, I stuck the knife deep in his back. He gasped in pain and fell on his knees. I dug the knife in deeper as I could and just because I was pissed off, I took it out and stabbed him again.
He was fell when I went for a third time and I knew he was dead.
Nellie was getting up with her hand behind her head, “Are you alright?” I asked her.
She pulled her hand back, “Yeah, fine.”
“Tell Courtney it is safe now.” I said as I ran out of the kitchen and into the yard. I bent down next to Junior who was laying on his side, holding his right arm. I took his left arm and wrapped it around my shoulder, “See, told you I could take care of them.”
He cursed at me, “Shut up. I don't have Angel blood in me. Ahh!” he yelled as my hand hit his arm. “God, I think not only did I break it, but my shoulder dislocated.”
“Don’t worry, I know how to fix that.” I said as I helped him towards the house.
“Oh great.” he sarcastically said. “You can do just everything, huh?”

"Maybe you eat some oatmeal." Hadrian said as he looked down at my burger I was having for breakfast. "It's better, at least I think from what I seen threw through the years."
"I'm not hungry for that though, if I don't have some meat I'm going to be hungry. Baby sure make me crave it allot." I said. "Oh, a bacon chicken McWrap would have been so much better now, that has lettuce in it."
"You just want the bacon." Uncle Carter commented. "Little Monkey in you craving meat, what most mothers of Cambions crave."
"Are there even any other Cambions out there?" Nick asked. "I still have yet to ever meet one."
"Just like Nephilims, their race gets smaller every generation but there are more out there than Nephilims." Gavin said. "You mostly find them in gangs, bikers, cage fighter, and a few other things."
"Well my baby is special, he or she won't be bad." I said.
"Hadrian, you're looking a little pale." Dante said and I looked at Hadrian who did look pale. "Are you hungry?"
"Go stick your fat head in someone ass, Dante." Hadrian said. "Go to Hell on the way there to."
Dante grinned, "What are you going to do now? Continue feeding from Nevaeh, that'll hurt the child."
"Dante." Uncle Carter and I both hissed.
"I thought about taking yours while you’re sleeping." Hadrian sarcastically said. "Won't make me as strong, but I never had a priest soul before."
"I'm sure you would like it." Dante said. "I sleep with a knife in my hand though, come near me and it goes through your heart."
"You wouldn't kill an expecting father, would you?" Hadrian asked.
"I kill Demons." Dante said.
When everyone was finished we were walking out of McDonald's and across the street at the square center was a baby store with some name in French. I went passed the car and I felt everyone eyes on me. "Just a moment." I said as my feet hurried and I went into the store.
It was the cutest store I ever saw.
I went over to a wrack where I saw the cutest onesie I ever saw. It was pink with a bow under the Daddy Little Girl.
"Any help?" a lady asked as she came over.
"Oh, just looking." I said.
"How far along are you?" she asked.
"How do you know I'm expecting?" I asked.
"I'm a mother of six children, I know the signs." she chuckled.
"Oh. Well about two months." I said since it was only a guess really. I don't really know when Baby was conceived. "I can't believe a baby is this small." I said as I held the onesie up.
"All babies are different, but they can be." she said.
The bell to the shop opened and Hadrian came in. He looked slightly uncomfortable around the baby stuff as he looked around before coming over to me, "The others wants to leave, Nevaeh." he said.
"They can wait a moment." she said. I held the onesie up, "Don't you think this is cute? I use to have dolls that could fit this."
"That is for a girl though." he said.
I shrugged, "It could be a girl—oh my god! Look at the bassinet. It's so cute." I said as I ran over to the dark wooden bassinet. It had blue and tan sheets. I could just imagine a little baby inside and I smiled. "I can't wait to buy all this stuff."
"Nevaeh, we should--okay I guess they can wait a little longer." he said when I pouted.
I smiled, “Do you think this is perfect? So adorable, I want all of this stuff for him or her.” I said as I looked around.
“Nevaeh, you do understand that a baby isn’t like a doll.” he said.
“I know a baby isn’t.” I said. “But—I don’t know. Something about this store, I could probably spend all day looking at this stuff. I just want him or her to have everything—perfect.”
“It’s called Nesting Instincts.”, the lady said as she walked over. “Strange, usually it happened during the fifth month. First child for you both?”
“Yes.” I said as I looked back at the bassinet.
“Nervous?” she asked Hadrian. “It’s going to be hard at first, but after a while, you’ll get used to it and love it. My husband was like that with our first.”
“He’s still surprise at the news.” I said when Hadrian didn’t reply to the lady.
“Well my best advice for new fathers is to love, love, and love some more.” she said. “Trust me, you know true love when you’re changing a messy diaper.” She chuckled and I joined. “Don’t look so scared, boy, it’s a baby not a ticking time bomb. The most you have to worry about is sleeping, which you can do together when he or she sleeping.”
She walked away and I turned to Hadrian who was looking down at the carpet. I frowned and touched his arm, “Hadrian—I know you say you’re okay with it, but I have this feeling in my stomach that you’re not. Are you even happy?”
He looked up at me, “Of course I am.”, he said. “I don’t—I know it’s not something you want to hear but I want to get this bullshit with Senka over with before I can think about ‘Nesting.”, he said. He turned to and put his hand on my waist, “But don’t think I don’t love him.”
I smiled widely since he had said that, it made me feel so much better, “Or her.”
He nodded, “Right.”
