I stared at Nevaeh stomach as she slept. She has been sleeping for the past hour and she actually seemed peaceful and I knew she was because she was snoring. In the morning we had to drive to the Canadian border which we'll take most of the day. Dante finally got in touch with Saya people and the next day we should be there. A two day long process that I don't really want Nevaeh coming, just in case something happens.

"Oh, my God," Courtney sister groaned as she sat up and grabbed her headphones. "When did she start snoring?" she complained before she got in bed and plugged her headphones in her iPod and laid down.

I reached out and lifted Nevaeh shirt up a little. I rubbed my hand around her stomach. I think I almost fainted earlier when her mom said she was buying Nevaeh a pregnancy test.

I have no idea what I'm going to do now though. I never picture in my thousand years I would be a father! It's to soon!

I'm barley taking care of myself!

What am going to do with a baby! I have only held one baby before in my life and she was screaming her head off as if I was hurting her! She did not like me, this child isn't going to like me!

I ran my hand down my face, groaning, "Your life is changing so quickly." I said myself.

                What's happening?

I was in some old abandoned house. The whole thing was made of wood like a cabin, the ceiling practically torn and it smelled horrible. I didn’t understand any of this since—well since I don’t dream. I hadn’t told myself to pop into anyone dreams, I was going to attempt to break into Nevaeh’s but Senka blocks me out of it no matter how hard I try to fight it.

It was when I turned around I realized where I was. Staring at me on the wall was a painting of me. I was dressed in an old Spanish uniform from the 1700’s century. I almost died in this house. Hunters came after me when I had been careless with Isabelle Cortez, a poor girl. Little did I know her father was a hunter and one of the best Spaniard Hunter in all of Avila.

He was a big man who had many children, Isabelle was just one of the many eighteen that I didn’t bother to ask about her family. I was packing my stuff to move on when he burst inside this cabin and not allot of people had guns back then so I hadn’t expected to be shot. He missed my heart, but it was enough pain to catch me off guard and he tied me to a chair. He beat me to the point where I actually wished I was dead.

First time I was ever scared.

                Of dying.

“This house still stands.” I heard behind me and I lowered my head as my breathing became heavy. The hair on the back of my neck rose. “Of course Avila wouldn’t demolish it, it’s an ancient which they love. They believe it’s haunted though, I wouldn’t be surprise. They think the ghost name is Adrian, funny huh?”

“So that’s what your voice sounds like.” I said. “Sounds so. . .modern.”

“I practice allot, to get up with every new generation.”, he said. “Turn around, boy.”

I licked my dry lips and turned around slowly. I stood only a few feet away from Senka Dashwood, he leaned against the wall. He looked around and grinned. How. . .American he looked. Normal pushed back curly brown hair, high cheek burns, tan skin, and you wouldn’t think he’s was some ancient Demon who could kill me buy just thinking it.

“Why am I here?” I asked.

He stood up, “Oh, well I just wanted to congratulate you on becoming a father, cousin.”, he said and I glared at him. “Always a good feeling, I know it is. I had a few of my own, they are something to be proud of. I thought I would give sweet Nevaeh a break, she needs that rest for that bun in her oven—“

“You will leave her alone.” I said and he chuckled, amused clearly.

“Oh don’t worry, cousin.”, he said as he stuffed his hands in his pockets. “You know, I planned Nevaeh to be my first to drink from when I got my hands on her but don’t worry now! I’ll save her until she has that child, he sure is an amazing creature.”

                “He?” I questioned.

“Oh yes, it’s a boy. Sorry to ruin the surprise, but I saved you the wait of learning it’s a boy.” He said and I pressed my lips tightly together. He walked over to me, “He sure is going to change history, cousin. Proud of you.” He said as he placed his hands on my shoulder. “Not only have you managed to get a Hunter to conceive with you, but a Nephilim! Oh man, I should make you one of my right hands man.”

I threw my arms back to make him let go of me, “I don’t know what you’re talking about. Stay away from her, you bastard.”

“Oh come on, you can’t seriously be in love with her.” He said. “She is our enemy, I can look away from what you did to those Demon, that just prove you’re a strong warrior. I can use someone like you, Hadrian.”

“I will never join you.” I said. “And Nevaeh is mine, you can’t have her.”

He chuckled, “You really think I care, I’m your king. I take whatever I want.”

“No one rules over me.” I said.

He smiled and turned around, “This cabin—it was the first place you ever got scared. I brought you back here because once again, you’re scared. You’re scared you’re not good enough. Not good enough for Nevaeh, for the child. You even tried staying away, but you two couldn’t forget bout each other. How disgusting.”

“So what are you planning to do?” I asked. “Kill me now, I have gone against our people in the worse way.”

He chuckled as he turned back to me, “I hardly care about that. Like I said, Hadrian, you’re a warrior—one who has guts and not afraid to kill. Join me, you can watch your son grow up and be together. He will be the first of his kind, he’ll be strong as a newborn. Now Nevaeh I can’t, she belongs to me but you’ll have your child. He has her eyes.”, he said as he held his hand out to the right and my eyebrows furrowed together as I turned my head.

A little boy—possibly four—stood at the door. His back was facing us until he turned and smiled up at me. He had dark curly brown hair, light tan skin, and my smile. He had Nevaeh doe green eyes, so familiar it broke my heart almost. He was a handsome little child, like you see on magazines of children photo shoots.

“Daddy!” he yelled excitedly as he ran over to me and wrapped his arms around my right leg. I took in a sharp breath as my back stiffen.

I swallowed the lump growing in my throat, “Stop it.” I said to Senka as I stared at the wall. All these things rushed in my mind, I was to scared to look down at the child clinging to my leg.

“There are horrible things we must choose in this world, Hadrian.”, Senka said. “It’s be with your son, or die along with Nevaeh and leave him all alone in this world. I promise to take good care of him though.”

“Shut up!” I yelled at him as my hand flew down to the child back.

“Daddy?” The child said and I looked down at him quickly. He looked scared. “Don’t leave me, I love you.”, he said.

I closed my eyes tightly, “This isn’t real, this is a dream.” I whispered to myself as I tried to wake up. I was trying to pull myself out of this horrible dream, but Senka wouldn’t let me go.

“Your child or death, Hadrian.” He said.

                “Stop it!”

“You have to choose one by the time he comes, nine months isn’t as long as you think.” He said  and my hands balled into a fist. “But to remind you, when you die to aren’t going to the same place Nevaeh is.”

I opened my eyes and glared at him, “I’m going to kill you.”

He chuckled, “I’m sure you’re answer will change.”

I quickly sat up on Nevaeh bed, breathing heavily. I looked around as if I would find Senka in Nevaeh bedroom. Nevaeh groaned as she woke up and she sat up, “That’s weird, it’s been me doing that lately.”, she said.

I stared at her for a few moments and she gave me a confused look. I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and pulled her down on the bed, “Sorry. . .bad dream.”

“You don’t dream though.”, she said as her arm came up to my hand hanging. “I’ll ask in the morning though.”

She soon fell back to sleep on my chest and I brought my other hand up to the bridge of my nose, pinching it as a headache appeared in my head. I looked down at Nevaeh stomach and I placed my hand over it. I picture the little boy in my mind and something took over my body.

“I wont let nothing happen to you both.” I said as if he could hear me.

+Nevaeh.+

The last thing I wanted to hear from waking up from a good night sleep after over three weeks was that Hadrian wanted me to stay home. I scoffed, argued with him, he brought the baby up so many times, but as stubborn and determine I was, I wasn’t having it. These are my people I had to protect, I wasn’t going to sit back like some lazy person and let them do all the work!

“The baby shouldn’t be a reason why the plan changed!” I angrily said to Hadrian as I went downstairs.

“Nevaeh!” he yelled as he grabbed my arm when I got to the bottom and I groaned. “You aren’t the only one you have to make sure is safe now. If Senka finds you, I wont know where you are.”

“Which is why I should be with you, not stuck at home reading What to Expect When You’re Expecting!” I said and he groaned this time. “Don’t think I know what I’m doing is safe, but I’ve been going threw all this even before I knew and I’m sure he’s still fine. All we’re doing is passing the border to Cananda and bring Saya back, it’s not like we’re hunting Demons.”

“What if we attacked on the way there or back, huh?” he asked. “I don’t want you fighting. Don’t be stubborn!”

“I’m going! That’s final!” I said as I turned and he cursed in Italian. I ignored him as I walked into the kitchen where I saw Uncle Carter, Dante, Nellie, and my mom all around the small table drinking coffee. Oh great, I forgot how noisy they all were. “When do we leave?” I asked.

“Uh, Nevaeh, we were thinking maybe you should stay home—“ Uncle Carter started until I cut him off.

“No!” I stubbornly said. “You can’t stop me, this is my decisions I long planned to do before I found out.”

“But honey, this way you can go see the doctor quicker than waiting next week.”, my mom said and I sighed heavily. “Come on, I’ve missed you like crazy. This way I can tell you all what’s going to come. This is my first grandbaby.”

“You weren’t even excited.” I said and she looked hurt. “Oh God, I’m so sorry mom. My mood is a little crazy right now, I didn’t mean to say that.”

“Well I’m excited now.” She said as she came over to me and touched my belly. She smiled, “I know I didn’t seem to happy last night, but I thought about it so much last night that this is a good thing. It’s just what we need, a little baby to run around the house to lighten it up around here other than you’re uncle blasting old country songs.”, she said and Uncle Carter scoffed. “I’m really happy, Nevaeh. Stay home, they’ll only be gone a couple of days and like you said, you wont really be missing anything. Dante knows this Saya lady, he can talk her into coming here.”

“But Saya a Nephilim, same as I. I want to be to there.” I said and she sighed heavily.

“May I correct all these downers.” Dante said as he got up and walked over to me. “I on the other hand, want you to come. I don’t see a big round belly on you yet.”

“Dante.” Hadrian coldly said at the kitchen entrance.

Dante shrugged, “It’s true though, she can still kick Demon ass. She probably still could with a big round belly, it’s kind of adorable at the thought.”

I scoffed, but smiled, “Don’t be crazy, I’ll stop after getting Senka. But thanks for believing in me until some paranoid people.” I said as I looked around before turning to the fridge and opened it. I looked around for something yummy to make and I saw a pack of bacon. My mouth water and I grabbed it, “Mom, can you make me this?” I asked as I turned to her. She had a disapproving look on her face though so I sighed heavily, “Fine, I will.”

I joined Nellie at the table since she had stayed there looking down at her cup of coffee as everyone went into the living room to continue arguing with Dante about how dangerous this is for me. I decided to just ignore them since there’s no questioning this. I am going, that’s the final answer and they can’t stop me. I have been kicked and punched in my stomach tons of time, I almost even died! And I believe my baby is fine. I mean, what my mom said was true.

This baby isn’t exactly a normal mortal child.

I sat down across the table, “How are you doing, Nellie?”

She rubbed the white mug, “I haven’t wished I was dead yet this morning.” She looked up at me, “You were right though, talking to your mother about it helped a little. Ricky would want me to go on, he’s probably encouraging me right now like he always have when I wanted to give up. I still feel like crying, but I’m a strong woman.”

I smiled, “It’s always good to cry, my mom learned that when she saw a therapist. It’s better than letting the feelings build up and be angry for the rest of your life.”

“I guess so.” she said as she brought the mug up to her mouth and took a sip of her coffee. “I can’t wait till this is over, I can finally talk to my two boys. Both will be eager to know I’m alive.”

“I’ll help explain all this.” I said and she forced a smile.

“They’ll both be fighting who I should live with after this, I haven’t seen my sons in forever though since their busy with being laywers. I’m proud of them though.”, she said. “Big like their father, but Ricky said they were always smart like me.’’

“Because their Nephilims to.” I said and she looked confused. “Angel blood will be running threw your family blood until your great grandchildren. You’re just more worthy since you’re thee Nephilim, the pure one. You’re boys will be safe, don’t worry. Aracelia told me, you’re sons would be on written on my uncle arm if Senka wanted them.”

                “Well, that’s good.”, she said.

Soon Gavin showed up to my surprise with Nick.

“I traded with Junior.”, he said as he took a chair next to me. “So. . .I heard the news.”

“Want me to stay behind to?” I asked and he chuckled.

“Of course I do, but only the old you would listen. You’re more stronger now, more hard headed and I know you want to come.”, he said. “I just can’t believe it though, I really did lose you.”

“Nick,” I sighed heavily. “I’m not the only girl out there, many girls were in love with you in High School.”

“I know,” he said. “I guess I just like girls who don’t want me back. I like the chase.”, he said as he grinned and I hit him. “Hadrian doesn’t have to worry though, he may still be a Demon, but I will never become a family. Now Dante though. . .” he said and I scoffed. “That guy I would worry about.

I was packing my bag when I heard a car door slammed. My eyebrows came together confused as I walked over to my window and I saw a yellow cab driving away, a man walking towards my house with a bag hanging over his shoulder. I was confused since I didn’t know who he was. He had long curly brown hair that went to his shoulder and a honey colored skin. He was walking to quickly for me to really look at him because he walked onto my porch and I heard the doorbell.

I walked out of my room when I heard my uncle open the door, “Who are you?”, he asked as I walked down the steps to finally see what this guy looked like. He looked young, probably late twenties. Something about him made him seem different though, I felt something in the air. It was the same feeling I got with Nellie.

“I am Uriah Berkovitz,” he said in an deep accent. He reached into his back jean pockets and pulled out a letter, “I was told to come here buy Aracelia Stormborn.”, he said as he handed Uncle Carter a letter.

I walked over to him, “You’re Uriah?” I asked and he nodded.

He held his hand out, “You must be Nevaeh, you look like your mother. Nice to meet you, cousin.”, he said and I smiled, taking his hand in mine and shook it. “Oh! I also have this. I was told to give this to Sierra.” He said as he reached into his bag and gave my mom an envelope.

She looked confused as we all did and she took a rectangle piece of paper. Her eyes widen, “Oh wow.”, she said. “It’s a check, for two thousand dollars.” She fished out another note and read it out loud, “ ‘I am sorry that the house will be filled with a bunch of strange people you do not know and I wouldn’t dream of sending you all of them with a little help even while I’m gone. Here’s money for food and anything else. I’ll send more when the next comes. Aracelia.’”
