I woke up from trying to fight my way threw Nevaeh dream when I heard her moaning in her sleep. My eyes opened and she looked like she was fighting I'm her sleeping.
"No. . .no." she said as her head thrash around. "Stop touching him. . .Stop it!" she yelled as she woke up and sat up. It was the first in the last few days she woke up screaming. She has decided to fight against it to make it threw the night and even told us not to wake her up no matter what but this time it must have really scared her.
She laid back down and looked at me. She crawled near my chest and I put my arm around her tightly.
"What was it this time?" I asked.
"You." she said. "He knows about you. He. . .He kill you in front of me, made me watch."
"It wasn't real." I said as I brushed her dark hair back.
"It could though." she said. "Hadrian. . .I think you should leave."
"What?" I asked, confused. "That is crazy, I'm not leaving you."
"It's to dangerous for you." she said. "I'm to dangerous, I don't want anything to happen to you."
“I knew the risk I'll be putting myself threw.” I said. “Don't think I’m leaving now.”
“You don't understand what I saw—it was heart breaking.” she said.
She opened her mouth but I shook my head. I put my hand on her shoulder to turn her around and I held her from behind. She took my hand in hers tightly as I pressed my mouth against her head, “I'm not going anywhere.” I said and she sighed heavily. Since the crummy motel didn't have good air conditioning, Nevaeh was in her sports bra so I was able to see her wing tattoo. It was black, the wings acting as if they were really coming out her back. I traced a feather around my finger, “Did this hurt?”
“In the beginning, but I got use to it.” she said. “Took five hours, the longest thing I ever had to stay still. Uncle Carter is bigger, I wanted something normal size.”
“It's beautiful,” I said. “I always thought of getting one, but haven't gotten around. Maybe when this is all over I just get your name spell across my chest.”
She chuckled, “Oh don't do that, you should only get someone name on you if their really important.”
“You are important though.” I said.
“I mean, like your mother or father. . .never mind.” she said. “Don't get my name.”
“Eh, I think I will.” I said, chuckling.
“It's your body.” she said. “I always did think tattoos looked nice on guys, something about—“
She was cut off when there was a burst. Like a door being slammed in and Nevaeh didn't even think. She just jumped out of bed and ran over to the door in her shorts and sport bar. I heard a scream when the door open and she ran out. I got up and ran over to the women, Nellie, motel room. I saw Nevaeh being thrown into the wall, the Hielo Demon holding Nellie by her neck, hanging her off the ground like she was some doll.
When he noticed me, he bared his glass sharp teeth at me and dropped Nellie. I grabbed his arm when he reached for me and slammed my back against the wall. Hielo Demons were pretty strong, skin a light pale bluish color, eyes white fresh snow, and tall as seven feet. I brought my knee up but that didn't stop him. Damnit.
With his other hand, he grabbed my face and starting blowing on me. My face started to hurt from frost bite and I groaned in pain since it felt like a freezing cold iron was touching my face, burning me.
The other finally decided to show up and Junior grabbed him off me, fighting him. I dropped to my knees, touching my burned face. I took calm deep breaths so my body could heal it's self and when it did, I was pissed. I looked up at the Demon who was fighting Dante now and I got up. It takes two Hunters to at least kill these bastards. I brought my foot up and kicked him in the back of his leg, making him drop to his knees and Dante stumbled back, shocked and pretty angry as he looked at me. I wrapped my arm around the Hielo and pulled his head back. The Hielo reached up, grabbing my arm and I cried in pain where he touched me.
Until a knife was thrown into his chest, killing him. I pushed the Hielo away and looked at the large red hand print on my arm, cursing in Italian until the hand print went away on my skin.
“I thought these damn thing stayed in Antarctica.” Dante groaned.
“Looks like you were struggling there.” I said and he pushed me, he even tried punching me but I grabbed his arm and threw my fist into his side, making him gasp in pain.
“Stop it!” Nevaeh yelled when she helped Nellie out of the bathroom where they must have been hiding. She walked over to the Demon and looked down at it, “I have never seen one of those, could explain the sudden chill in the air. He was strong, threw my across the room and almost knocked me out.”
“He's bring the bigger ones out for us.” I said. “Four of us fought him, but it took two to kill him.”

It was a two day drive from New Orleans to Charleston but we finally got back into town. Of course nothing changed, but it felt nice to be back home. Kids playing in park, completely oblivious to what's out there, no care in the world.
When Uncle Carter drove up to the my mom house, Courtney was waiting on the porch with Nick who looked less happy to be babysitting. She pressed herself against the banister with excitement and when Uncle Carter got out she ran over to him like what we always did when he came over. She hugged me next, “I missed you so much! I like having my own room, but it's been so quiet lately.”
“Nevaeh!” my mom yelled excitedly as she came out the house and over to me. She took me in her arms before I could even say 'hey mom' and squeezed me. “I thought it was a dream when you said you were coming home. I've missed you so much, I'm making your favorite dinner.”
“Mixed seafood, ugh.” Courtney comment with a shudder and I rolled my eyes at her, but smiled.
My mom looked at Hadrian and forced a smile, nodding once. I knew she might avoid him, we both expected so she just held her hand out, “Hadrian, I heard allot about you.”
“Nice to see you again, Ms Maxson.” Hadrian said.
“It's Sierra,” she said but turned her attention to Dante before Hadrian could correct himself and Dante grinned at him for a second before taking my mom hand to shake it, “Dante, right?”
I looked at Nellie when Dante gave my mom and sister a few charming comment so he could probably rub it in Hadrian face later. I went over to the window where she was looking at the back of the passenger seat and I opened the door, “You're safe here, Nellie. My friend Nick is a Hunter, he's watching over my family.”
“Safe?” she questioned as she looked at me. “I'm going to be in a house with people I don't know, I'm very depressed right now Nevaeh. I just want to go home to my family.”
“If you go back, more Demons will come and if they see you with your family they'll kill them.” I said. “My mom a wonderful women, she's knows what it's like to lose a husband.” I held my hand out and she looked at it for a moment before she sighed and took it. I helped her out, “Mom, this is Nellie, the lady I was talking about who will be staying.”
“Yes, yes of course.” my mom smiled. “All of you, come inside. I'm sorry that we don't have enough room but I did buy air mattresses”
I helped Dante grab some stuff from the truck and of course he made a comment, “So you got two hot moms?”
“Oh, my God!” I said in disgust. “You think my moms are hot? Perv.”
“Don't worry, you're still my favorite doll face.” he said as he walked over towards the house and I was almost tempted to throw my duffel bag at his bag.
When I walked into the house, I was hit in the face with this strong smell of cinnamon and apples, making my nose scrunched and Hadrian gave me a weird look down at me. “Ew, mom, are you burning candles again?” I asked when she came out into the hallway.
She looked confused, “Yes, but how do you know that?”
“I can smell it. Eh, I hate that scent, makes my stomach turn.” I said. “I always hated the smell of cinnamon.”
“Nevaeh?” she questioned. “I'm burning that candle all the way upstairs in the bathroom.”
“Huh?” I questioned as my eyes widen a little. “Well it must be a big candle because I can smell it.”
“It's a sample candle.” she said as she walked over to me. “Are you...alright?”
“I'm fine,” I said as I looked around since everyone was looking at me. “Seriously, I am. Why is everyone asking me that?”
“Why?” she asked. “What's been going on?”
I shrugged, “Nothing, I've just been feeling a little sick lately.”
“Sick? Is it your stomach, headaches, or nausea?”, she asked and I shrugged again.
“I've been under allot of pressure lately.” I said. “Look, can someone just go blow that candle out before I throw up on this carpet?”
“Ha, maybe you're pregnant.” Courtney teased as she went up the stairs and I scoffed, almost throwing my bag at her this time.

I stopped packing when I felt my Hadrian eyes on me and I set my bag down as I looked up at him, “What?”
“You've haven't been 'feeling well' these last two weeks.” he said.
“I have a king Demon after me who giving me nightmares, of course the lack of sleep would probably make me sick.” I said. I walked around my bed and over to him, smiling, “I remember the first time you came in my dream though, you tried to kiss me.” I teased as I poked his chest and he grinned.
“You do have the prettiest rosy lips.” he said as he put his hands on my waist. “I had been wanting since the moment I saw you to know what they felt like.”
I leaned up on my tip toes to kiss him until I heard footsteps and my mom hurried in to give me fresh sheets. I forced her a smile and stepped away from Hadrian to take them, “Thanks, mom.''
“Dinner is ready.” she smiled. “Come—now.” she said and I forced her a smile before she turned away and walked out of my room. Hadrian chuckled as I turned and I joined.
“She hates me.” he said. “Kind of stings more than Aracelia hate though.”
“She's just protective.” I said.
“Everyone seems protective of you.” he said and I nodded, groaning. He wrapped his arm around me and quickly kissed me though. I smiled against his mouth, it felt like forever since we were alone to kiss. Hadrian mouth trailed down to my neck and I giggled, pushing him away from me.
“Not here.” I said. “Even, if we don't go down now she'll send Courtney up here and that'll be more weird.”
We walked out of my room and went downstairs. I was surprised to Nellie helping my mom fill plates up with food. I walked over to the island and looked down at the seafood. I haven't had seafood in such a long time, nothing but greasy fries and dollar burgers off McDonald menu. It had my favorite from fish, shrimp, lobster, and mussel. I took a plate and started digging in fight there. So yummy and good!
I stopped eating when this pressure in my throat came and suddenly eating seafood made me sick at the thought. I pushed the plate away as I rubbed my stomach, groaning. I shook my head, “No, no, no—oh no!” I said when I ran over to the trash can and rip the lid off, puking seafood up.

My mom set a gallon of SunnyD on the counter and I scoffed, “Oh come on, this is stupid. I not drinking that whole thing like I’m Juno and I’m not taking five test.”
“Yes you are.” she said as she poured me a glass of juice.
“Mom, you're overacting” I said.
“Okay, for one, I know you're over eighteen and old enough to make your own choice—did you sleep with him?”, she asked, pointing out the window since that's where Hadrian stalked out to him.
“I'm old enough to. . .”
“Drink,” she said as she slide the glass of juice over me.
“Mom, it's hard to get pregnancy by a—“
“Just drink.” she said.
Twenty minutes later my bladder was about to burst and my mom didnt leave me alone in the bathroom as I took five different test. It was the most awkward thing I have ever done, peeing in front of your mom wasn't something I had planned for whenever I did take one of these. And five? Overreacting! It's hard to get pregnant by a Demon, I know I'm not pregnant because that'll be crazy! Me having a baby? Almost laughable. I can't have a baby now, not with all what's going on now. It's just all the pressure being thrown on me, I never had to deal with this much stress before.
“Happy?” I asked when I set the last test down. “Watch them all come out negative.”
“Then you shouldn't look so pale.” she said.
“I'm only pale because that horrible smell in this in this bathroom.” I said about the apple cinnamon candle.
“I hated the smell of vanilla when I was pregnant.” she said.
“I'm not pregnant though, it's stress.” I said. “It's tough getting pregnant by someone like Hadrian, he doesn't even want any kids. Even with how many times i've been kicked in the stomach I doubt so much a baby could survive all that.”
“Well this baby isn't exactly normal.” she said.
“There is no baby!” I said in frustration.
“Then check.” she said and I stared at her for a moment a moment with hard look on my face but to prove there is no chance I turned to look down at the five white sticks.
A lump formed my throat and my mom got her answer when I didn't say anything but look down at the sticks. My eyes stung with tears, my stomach turning from so many emotions. I grabbed one of the pregnancy test and walked out of the room. I almost turned away from the staircase, to scared to go see Hadrian but I forced my legs to go down them even though my mind was saying go run to your room and avoid the world forever!
That wasn't the mature thing to do.
I felt Uncle Carter, Dante, Courtney, and Nellie eyes on me as I walked passed the living room and I paused at the door. I stared out onto the porch where the light was on and I took a deep breath. With a shaky hand, I pushed the screen door opened.
I saw Hadrian sitting on the swing, staring down at his lap with a blank look on his face. He hasn't moved from there the past hour, it almost weirded me out. I stepped out onto the porch and held the test out in front of me.
I walked over to sit next to him and I looked down at my own lap. It was a moment before in the corner of my eyes I saw him slowly turn his head to look down at my hand. I looked up at him and waited for a response.
“I did this to you.” he finally said.
“It takes two, Hadrian.” I said. “We should. . .just been more careful.”
He looked at my stomach, “You don't even look pr. . .nothing there.”
“It's to early to tell.” I said and sighed heavily as I brought my other hand up behind my neck.
“Congratulations. . .I guess is in order.” he said and I scoffed.
“It's your baby to.” I said.
“I know. . .” he paused for a moment. “Just—I just don't really know what to say.” He got up from the swing and walked over to the banister, leaning against it, and looked down at the yard. I stood up and walked over to him, wrapping my arms around him behind. “I miss the days where I use to wait for you every morning right there to kiss you. Seems so long ago that was.” he said as he looked at the house next door where a family was now living.
“It does feel like forever.” I said as I took a deep breath and let it out. “Hadrian—I know it was to quick but please—please don't leave me alone to do this.”
“Leave you?” he questioned. “Where would you get that idea?”
“You don't want kids, you never did with me. You told me.” I said and he turned around so I let my arms fall, still holding the test in my hand.
“I never said that.” he said and my eyebrows furrowed together confused. “I said I couldn't give you children because what they can do to you.”
“I'm sure not all of them died in labor.” I said.
“Incubus babies are harder, their energy suckers.” he said. I smiled, chuckling, and he scoffed, “Nevaeh, this is serious.”
“I'm sorry, it's just the way you said it.” I said and when he opened his mouth, I shook my head and put the pregnancy test in my pocket, bring my arms up around his neck, “I think I'll be fine, I am a Nephilim. If it looks like it'll be bad, there is another way of delivery.”
“I guess so.” he said, but he still didn't look happy. “It couldn't have come at any worse time, huh?”
My hands flew to my stomach, scoffing, “He or she isn't an 'it'!” I said and a smile broke out on his face.
He took one of my hands and played with my lace glove covered hand, looking down at my hand, “I don't know what this baby is, though. There's no name for what he is. Half-Nephilim, half Combion don't exist. I guess that's why I thought it would be impossible for you to get pregnant.”
“What are children from Demons like?” I asked and he chuckled.
“Their hellions.” he said and I groaned. “Their little trouble makers, but they're like Nephilims just different behavior. In this case, I don't know how he or she will be like. He could be a saint like you or a little trouble maker.”
I smiled and took his hand in mine so I could place it over my stomach, “This isn't such a horrible thing, Hadrian. He's our, our baby that we created together. He or she will be unique. Are you. . .happy?”
“I'm. . .shocked.” he answered. “How are you?”
“Scared.” I admitted. “I never thought I would be getting pregnant this young, I'm not even old enough to drink at a bar. But I know I don't want anything to happen to this baby. And aside from throwing my guts up at least once a day, I don't feel like theirs a little person growing inside of me.”
He placed his other hand on my stomach and rubbed it, “I know, nine months is such a long time to wait. Do you know what I'm excited for though?”
I smiled widely, “What?”
“Coming home to you both, he or she attacking my leg saying how much they missed me.” he said. I remembered I said that to Uncle Carter the other day in the car and Hadrian was sitting behind me. “You know what I’m more scared of than the birth?”
“Hmm?” I asked.
“Aracelia.” he said and I nervously laughed, agreeing.
