+Hadrian.+

Nevaeh was telling Carter and I the nightmare she had when I walked down the motel where I saw a bird. It was a bluebird and I slowly reached out. He didn't fly away or get scared as I softly took him in my hands and I held him in my right palm and I pet his head.

"I was thrown into the wall then and I felt it." Nevaeh said and I listen. I was concern though as I turned around, petting the small creature head. "He say the battle just beginning.  I have no idea what that meant. There is no battle going on."

"He meant yours." I said. "Something serious, more than a little job of taking out a little group of Demons."

"You know who he is?" Carter asked.

The bluebird squeaked and flapped his wings, but stayed in my hands. I walked over next to Nevaeh and I took her hand. Holding her palm out and bringing my hand close to hers, the bluebird walked off my hand into hers. She smiled and touched his head.

"I only know of one Demon who could do that and I surely hope it's just my imagintion." I said. The bluebird sat on Nevaeh palm. "His name is Senka Dashwood."

"Never heard of him." Carter said and I chuckled humorlessly.

"Of course you wouldn't. He's a ghost pretty much, he hides from mostly everyone. Only his closet friends know where he is. Rumors goes that he hides in the dark now."

"How would he know about me?" Nevaeh asked.

"That bitch Scarlet must have went to him." I said.

"Why him?" she asked.

I sighed as I brought my finger over to the bluebird and scratched his chest and he hummed a little, "There's always a monarch for something."

"He's a king?" Carter asked.

"Pretty much in a way. He rules over North America, but like I had said, he's been hiding in the dark for a couple of centuries. He's old--really old." I said. "Makes him the strongest than any of us."

"Will if you're over a thousand. . . How old is he?" Nevaeh asked.

"Thirty two thousand." I said and Nevaeh face went pale as her eyes widen. "I told you he was pretty old."

"Then what does he want with me?" she asked and I gave her a look. "Okay so I do know, but I'm not the only Nephilim."

"You're the only Nephilim he knows about." I said. "Scarlet must have found him and told him. I'm sure now she has some high spot in his court of close friends." I said, rolling my eyes.

"So if he knows who I am why is he scaring me in my dreams?" she asked.

"He loves fear, like allot of other Demons do. Fear is what builds his strength and your fear is his favorite." I said.

"Don't be creepy." she said. "What happens now? I'm not sure if I should fall asleep now."

"I protect you until he comes." I said. "And I will risk my life trying to save you."

I woke up screaming the next morning. I quickly sat up as I ran my hands threw my hair as if there were still bugs in there.

"Nevaeh!" Hadrian yelled when he grabbed my arms and pulled them down. I breathed deeply as I wrapped my arms around him and tears slid down my face. His arms went around my tightly and I hid my face in the crock of his neck and shoulder. "What was it?" he asked.

"I was. . .I was in the ground in a box and all theses bugs were crawling around me. He was taunting me." I said. "It was horrible."

"You're safe now." he said.

"Nevaeh, we should call Aracelia." Uncle Carter said.

"No!" I said stubbornly. If Aracelia knows about this she'll make me leave with her and I'll never be a Hunter again. She'll be keeping a watchful eye on me, I'll never be alone. It'll be like I've lost all my freedom. "I'm fine, it was just a bad dream."

"He's using your fears against you." he said.

I pulled away from Hadrian,  "I'm fine." I said as I wiped my wet face. I pulled the blanket off me and grabbed my shoes.

"What are you doing?" Hadrian asked.

"I'm going across the street to that truck stop." I said. "I need coffee."

"I'll come with you." Hadrian said.

"No." I said as I turned to him. "Go back to sleep, I feel bad for waking you both up. I'll only be five minutes."

"I don't think it's safe going out at four o'clock in the morning alone." Hadrian said.

"I agree." Uncle Carter said.

I scoffed, "I'm not a child who needs help crossing the street. I'll be fine, we're in a crappy motel where I seen a cockroach in the bathroom in the middle of no where. I'll be fine."

"Nevaeh--"

"Hadrian, no." I said and he looked angry but he pressed his lips together tightly. "I'm not a child, you don't need to watch my every move."

"Fine. Be hard headed." he said as he got back into bed and his back facing me. I felt back suddenly but I was cranky because it was four o'clock in the morning and I'm sure I'm not going back to sleep.

I was walking across the road when I got a large coffee and a few sugary snacks. I pulled out my keys and put it in the lock.

My body stiffened when I felt a pair of eyes on me. I frozen, waiting for something. I want sure what to expect but I knew I was prepared.

When nothing came, I turned my head around a little and I didn't see anything but the truck stop store. The bored ponytail man behind the counter was boredly reading threw a magazine.

Must be me getting paranoid and it's what he wants. I won't let Senka do that to me. I turned the key and went inside. I locked the door and set the key in the table. Uncle Carter had passed out but I don't know about Hadrian since his back was still to me.

I put the stuff down on the nightstand next to the bed. I sat down on the bed and now that I'm wide awake I felt more bad. Hadrian only being protective, I would be to if someone was tormenting him. I laid down next to him and put my hand around him, placing my hand on his chest, "I'm sorry for being cranky." I whispered to him. "And stubborn."

When hev didn't answer I was sure he was asleep until his arm moved and he took my hand. His thumb move around in circle in my hand, "You need to understand Senka isn't like the others you dealt with. He powerful, strong. There's rumors he's one of the children of Lucifer. I can't protect you from him."

"He's not going to get me though." I said. "Hadrian, I'm going to be fine."

He turned around and proped himself up on his elbow and he looked down at me, "You young naive child." he said and my eyebrows furrowed together. "You think the Demons we killed were dangerous, imagine what he is. I'm not even sure if Aracelia would be able to protect you."

"Angel can't die." I said.

"Yes they can, it's just hard but Senka can easily do it." he said. "I'm going to hate to admit this, but I'm actually scared about this."

"Hadrian,  the more negative we think about this the less we are thinking of trying to get rid of him. It's not impossible." I said.

"But sure damn hard." he said.

I reached up and placed my hand over his cheek, "We'll do it though. What happens when he does die? The next strongest will be after us."

"In Africa, one Demon got lucky enough to kill the king there. He took his place. Only ever happened once in history." he said.

"Well history well repeat itself because nothing is going to happen to me." I said and leaned up, pecking him.

+Dante.+

"Please no." I said as I hunched down to my knees and brought my hands up to my ears. I rocked back and forth, trying to think of anything else but him. "Please leave me alone."

He chuckled, "Dante. . .give up. . .it can all end. . ."

I shook my head quickly, "No, I won't do it." I said. I wasn't going to kill myself, I may not want to be a priest but I am a Catholic and my soul won't be dammed to Hell. My body won't become his. "I won't give up so easily."

"You could be with your father though. Such a good man, didn't deserve what be got." he said. "He died protecting you from her. It's all your fault."

"No." I said. "Shut up! Leave me alone!  You won't have my body, I'll keep myself alive until I'm old and gray! You don't want that, you want me young."

He chuckled, "I'll just try harder then."

I gasped when I woke up and I was staring up at the badly done wallpaper ceiling of my motel. I brought my hand up and turned my head to see if I had woke up Carlos, my newest partner. I always seem to be having trouble with partners, I always get a new one a few times every year. They always complain how competitive I am.

I'm just determine.

I sat up on my bed and rubbed my forehead. I groaned and got up, grabbed my wallet, and left the room and went over to the vending machine. I got myself a soda and chugged it.

I felt a pair of hands grab me though and i was slammed into the wall. I cried in pain since I hit my head, "Jesus!" I yelled.

"Dante Castillo?" I heard with a deep accent.

"Who's asking?"

"He's here." I heard him say.

"Bring him in." a deep voice said and my eyes widen.

I threw my elbow back and jammed it in the guy face roughly. He let go of me and I grabbed him by his dark hair but he hit me in the stomach, knocking the air out and he kicked me in my leg. Pain rushed threw my entire leg and I dropped down to my other leg.

"Dante!" I heard Carlos and the Demon walked over. Carlos and him started fighting.

Breathing back the pain I forced myself up and I ran over, grabbing the Demon and pulled him off Carlos. I kicked him back into the wall and I wrapped my hand around his neck roughly. I slammed him roughly against the wall, "Who are you?" I asked.

He glared at me, cursing at me in Hebrew but allot of the words I didn't recognize.

He said something that caught my attention though, "What do you know about Nevaeh?" I demaned. He had said he knew I had been with that Nephilim and wants to know where she is.

"Kill me." he said in English. "You aren't getting anything out of me you son of a bitch."

Carlos gave me a knife and I held it up to his neck, "Who are you?" I asked. "Who do you work for? Who was that guy that spoke in your phone?"

"Suck on my--"

I didn't even let him finish as I roughly stabbed him in his chest. I took it out after a moment and he fell to the floor. I bent down and wiped the knife off with his black bottom shirt before I grabbed his phone hanging on the side of his pocket.

I brought it up to my face and clicked on the screen. Call was still up and on speaker, "Who this?" I asked.

"More will be coming." he said. "It was a bad idea to have ever met her."

"Send more and they be dead to." I said. "I'm not scared, I was trained to never fear your kind."

"You don't know me though, Dante Castillo. I know about you though." he said and my body stiffened. "Your little secret."

"I'm going to kill you." I said coldly and he laughed.

"Good luck, my friend." he said and ended the call.

"Shit." I said as I stood up.

"Secret?" Carlos questioned as I dropped the phone and stomped on it.

"Its none of your business." I said as I gave him back his knife. I walked over to our room, "After this job though, I would suggest finding a new partner." I said. "Damn you, Nevaeh." I hissed to myself.
