After going back to the jazz club and doing a little convincing to the bar tender who worked there all his life pretty much, I found out where the man Ricky and this Nellie lady lives who is his wife.
"You sure you want to do this?" Uncle Carter asked.
"I'm sure I'll be fine alone. I don't think they'll feel comfortable with both of you there but I'm another story. There's only one answer to what he meant she's like me." I said. Hadrian and my uncle nodded so I turned but realized leaving them here alone was probably a bad idea a little. I turned back to them, "And no fighting you two."
They both just grinned at me as Hadrian leaned back against the car. I walked over towards Dia's household up the street. It was a nice modern day Victorian house with the whole white fence and lovely rose bush garden. I opened the gate and walked over to the house. I went up to the door and hesitated since my hands were sweating and it wasn't because the New Orleans heat.
What if I over aggregated this and Nellie wasn't like me? What if Ricky gets angry to see me and tells me to go away?
I knocked on the door and I waited a moment until I heard the door unlock. A women opened the door so seemed to be in her forties but without a wrinkle in sight in her ebony color complex. She had mid length curly black hair and about my height answered the door. She was stunningly beautiful.
"Hello?" she questioned.
"Is this the home of Ricky and Nellie Dia?" I asked.
"I'm Nellie." she said, pointing at her pink blouse. "Who are you?"
"My name is Nevaeh Brownstone. I kind of met your husband a few nights ago and well. . .He had said something that caught my attention." I said, not really thinking of what I was going to say really.
"My husband?" she questioned and I nodded. "What did he say?"
"Uh, it might be a good idea if I come inside. Not really a good idea to talk out here." I said and she stared at me before widen the door for me to step in.
When I stepped in, I didn't expect as I turned to her to have a shotgun aim at me. My eyes widens and I stepped back, holding my hands up. What the hell?
"You are you?" she asked.
"I told you." I said. "My name Nevaeh Brownstone. Please put the gun down, I'm the last person you should be aiming that at."
"Oh really?" she asked. "What's up with ya eyes huh?"
"It's not what it seems." I said.
"I'm not stupid, I know what hides in the shadows and this won't be a first your kind came for me." she said.
"Why's that?" I asked and she scoffed. "Nellie, I'm serious. My eyes were turned like this, I was attacked and this was the result. I don't know how to say this other than I know what it's like having to watch your body, soul, and blood. I'm just like you."
"Like me? You don't know one thing about me." she said.
"You don't feel human right? You know your not just mortal." I said. "Which one of your parents is it? My mother the one."
"Huh? No, get out." she said and I had a feeling she wasn't going to shot. I could probably take the gun away from her but I needed to earn her trust. "Get out!" she yelled.
"I'm telling you the truth--ahh!" I screamed when she aimed the gun up at the ceiling and I bent down since it was part of my training. I looked up and jumped up. I snatched the gun from her and she gasped as she stepped back. "Really? Are you crazy?" I asked since that just brought my anxiety up. I heard pounding coming down the steps,"I came here to talk not get shot at--whoa, stop right there." I said as I turned to face Ricky and he looked like he seen a ghost as he looked at me. I opened the shotgun and took the last bullet out before dropping the gun,"Relax, I'm not what you both think I am."
"Who are you?" Ricky asked and Nellie ran over to his side but he pulled her behind him. "Why are you here?"
"God, I hate repeating myself." I said as I groaned. "My name is Nevaeh Brownstone and I'm a Hunter. I'm trained to hunt down Demons. You believe me now that I'm not here to hurt you?" I asked as Nellie stepped to Ricky side but stayed close.
The door to their house trust opened, making Nellie scream, and I turned to see Uncle Carter running in. He looked surprised to see us unharmed than looked up at the ceiling,"Oh." he said.
"We're fine." I said. I turned back to Nellie and Ricky who looked confused. "Don't worry, he's my uncle."
"Why are you both here?" Ricky asked.
"You said something the other night, about me being like her." I said. "What do you know?"
"I know you were with that--monster." Ricky said.
"Don't worry about him, I already took care of him." I said since I knew if they knew Hadrian was down the street they'll never talk. "You know what you are, right?" I asked Nellie.
"I'm a freak." she said coldly and Ricky put his arms around her.
I shook my head,"No, no your not."
"How would you know?" she asked.
"I told you, I'm like you. Even he noticed." I said as I pointed at Ricky. "We're special, Nellie."
"Special?" she scoffed.
"Yes." I said as I stepped towards them. "Which one is it? Your mom or dad?"
"I haven't seen my father since I was fourteen." she said. "And my mama dead."
"It's your father than." I said to myself. "Your father. . .He probably felt like he had to."
She snorted,"Don't talk about him like you know him. Man can rot in Hell for leaving my mama."
"Nellie, your not a freak. You're a Nephilim." I said and they looked to me confused. "Half Angel, half Mortal."

"Thanks." I said when Nellie handed me a glass of water but her hand was shaking. She gave me a nervous smile and I smiled back as she sat across from me at the table, "I know it's allot to take in."
"Your uncle could have stayed if he wsnted." Nellie said and Ricky took her hand on the table.
"He's fine, he knows this is my business and respects that." I said even though I know Uncle Cater would prefer to stay but even I know he had to go back to let Hadrian know everything was okay.
"How do you know this?" Nellie asked. "I always knew I was different since I was fifteen. I got in a little trouble with some boys when but I fought them off. I always been a little stronger and faster than the others in my family. And these people every so often always try to attack me but thankfully I met Ricky when I was eighteen." she said as she smiled at him.
I couldn't help but smile since I found their love romantic and the way they smiled at each other. "So you two been married awhile?
"Fifty three years." Nellie said. "Ricky five years older than me."
My mouth dropped,"How old are you?"
"Sixty eight." she said and I scoffed.
"You look so young though." I said and she smiled. "I would have guessed late forties at least. I guess our appearance ages slowly."
"You don't know that?" Ricky asked.
"No, Nellie the only one I ever met. Nephilim are rare, there are less than ten us around the world." I said and their eyes widen.
"So how'd you learn about us?" Nellie asked. "I mean, what we are?"
"My mom, my real mom because my mom adopted me. Her name Aracelia, she's an Angel. She came back into my life because my father side are Hunter, it's a family business thing sorta. Well she told me what I am." I said.
"So my father is an Angel to?" she asked and I nodded. "I mean, he wasn't bad to us. He was a good dad but he just one day left. I remember coming into the. kitchen for breakfast and he hugged me tightly. I didn't understand until I came home after school and he was gone."
"I'm sure it's not because he didn't care." I said. "Angel don't age, their immortal. Aracelia looks at least twenty-one. He probably didn't want to tell you both the truth because that could have been dangerous. It doesn't mean he stopped caring."
She brought her hand up to her mouth as she choked on a sob. "All theses years--I said such horrible things about him."
"I know how it feels. My parents, my whole life they lied. My father is my real father but it was still hard on me to find out the women who raised me wasn't actually my blood mom." I said.
"So there really are Demons out there?" Ricky asked. "I always knew it."
"And it's my job to make sure they still under control." I said. "I was in New Orleans for this werewolf outside of town in Holdwood Manor."
"There's werewolves here?" Nellie gasped.
"Correction--there was." I said since no one heard from Scarlet who we guess just left.
"Well Jesus Christ--oh my bad." Ricky said. "Is that wrong to say?"
I chuckled,"Yes. Demons, Witches, Angels, and probably God and the Devil are real. But only way for a Demon to come here is for them to have a vessel body. There are allot of Hunters around the world though, you just don't know."
"And their all humans?" Ricky asked and I nodded. "So why are you still here than? Not trying to be rude but just curious."
"I never met another Nephilim." I said. "Now I don't feel so alone."

Three Weeks Later
I jumped from the bar to the table and grabbed the Demon holding Uncle Carter down and plunged my new dagger since my old one got lost in the Demon chest.
"Nevaeh!" I heard Hadrian yelled and I felt someone run up behind me. I turned around and stabbed the Demon her chest.
I jumped off the table when Hadrian came over to me with a Demon crawling on his knees since Hadrian was holding him down. I grabbed the Demon and he hissed, speaking in Hebrew I'm guessing. I cut him off though by finishing him off.
"Well this was an easy night." Uncle Carter said. I smiled at Hadrian though and he pulled me into a kiss. "Eh, I'll get let the people out from the closet."
I broke the kiss, "Your not a bad fighter. Last three weeks you've been impressive get me."
"Your not to bad either." he said. He turned and went behind the bar, grabbing a bottle of vodka, "Our rewards--"
"Your reward." Uncle Carter said and the people who were in the bar that I hid in the closet rushed out and ran out of the bar scared."

I was having having such a weird dream. I was in some tunnel with at the end was some bright light. I was slowly walking towards it.
Until the floor started spinning like one of those tunnels at a fair. I gasped as I fell and landed. Each side I got to the side I rolled back until I forced myself up and I quickly ran towards the light but it felt like it kept getting further and further away now.
I heard laughter and I gasped as I looked around, trying to find where the voice was coming from. It was deep and dark, even scared me a little.
"Who are you?" I called out.
"Pretty little Huntress." the voice said. "So young, so many oppertunties. This isn't the kind of life you should have."
"Who are you?" I hissed. "Show yourself! Are you a Demon? Who are you?"
"Curious Nephilim aren't you?" he asked and the spinning tunnel quickened and I fell. I got back up though and ran.
"Stop it!" I yelled.
"I know who you are." he said. "Come and find me. Hint. My name means shadow in."
"Bad idea, because I'm going to kill you now for pissing me off." I said and he laughed. The tunnel stopped but I was suddenly thrown against the wall.
Pain rushed in my side and I was so confused since you should never really feel stuff in your sleep. And I've been thrown into walls before, why it hurt this time?
I tired lifting myself from my knees as he spoke again, "You thought these little young Demons would be a challenge? Get ready, your battle just starting."
"Battle?" I questioned. "Who are you?"
I was pulled out of my dream and I sprung up from my bed. My chest raced as I looked around as if I was trying to find the vocie. I felt hands grab my shoulders and I cried as I tossed my head around and realized it was Hadrian who looked concern as he looked at me and Uncle Carter who was on the other bed turned out the light.
I was actually scared as I looked at then both. I never got scared at some Demon threat but I actually felt his power in his vocie and if he could actually hurt me in my dreams?
This isn't good.
