Evelyn

I'm standing at my closet thinking what to wear, as it was only a small dinner I thought to go with blue jeans and a blue colored crop top. I applied mascara and lipstick and then grabbing my bag I went downstairs "Mom, I'm leaving!"  I yelled from living room.

"You look Beautiful, baby" she said hugging me.

"Thank you!" I said and glanced at the packets and a cover lying on the table.

"Give them to susan, they're from me" she smiled and handed the covers to me.

"Sure. Bye mom" I replied and went out. I got into my mom's car and drove to Susan's home.

She invited me to her house for dinner as its friday. We planned to go to movie tomorrow, only me and her no one else . I put the address to gps and played my favorite album. In half an hour I reached a street which looks like quarters  or something. I stopped the car and dialed her number, I told her exactly where I am and then she hung up saying she'll come. After a few minutes I saw her coming towards me riding on a bicycle.

"Hi" I said getting out of the car.

"Evelyn!" she hugged me and pulled away with bright smile.

"I think I lost, that's why I called you" I explained her about my clumsiness.

"You've to take that turn, it'll lead straight to my home but you took a turn here, so you didn't got right" she said pointing on to the road. I nodded at her "Let's go"  she said and nodded to my car, I got in and followed her from behind.

We entered her home and its cozy and homely, I loved it. She took me to her garden which is backside the house and I fell in love instantly, my eyes turned bright watching the view in front of me. They had almost all types of beautiful flowers, I too wanted to have this type of garden at my home but mom refused to it because we can't manage them as she's busy with her hospital work. We came back to living room and I saw two persons who are old enough to be grandparents.

"Grandpa and maa, this is my friend Evelyn. Eve this is grandma and grandpa" she smiled introducing me.

"Hello, thanks for inviting me to dinner" I said giving a curtly smile and nod.

"Hello dear" old lady hugged me and then her husband. I felt awkward watching their affection because I'm not used to it as my mom didn't say anything about their parents.

"Come. Help me setting the table" she dragged me and Susan into kitchen.

"I'm glad you're friends with Susan, she didn't have much friends. She's lonely always and at School too. I didn't see any of her friends tagging with her" old lady Maria said giving me a sad smile.

"I'll take care of her, even she's away from my school Maria. Don't worry!" I said placing my arm on Susan's shoulder to which she winked at me.

"Ha.. Yes. We can't afford to pay tuition fees at other schools baby. That's why she's studying here" Maria muttered beside me.

"I can understand!" I gave a squeeze to Susan who's looking at her grandma sadly.

"Come on girls, time to eat!"

"Oh.. I forgot something in my car. I'll be right back" I said and went out to grab the cookies and cupcakes baked by mom. I put it behind me and went back inside the home.

"What is it behind you?" Susan asked.

"Guess it?" I smirked at her.

She came and wrapping an arm around me and then brought the cover "What is it?" 

"Mom send them yo you!" I declared watching her eyes went bright with happiness.

"I'll open it!" She opened it hastily and once seeing them her eyes went wide and filled with Happy tears. She hugged me and started sobbing "Oh girl, you're crying again!stop crying Or I'll eat all of them without giving you a bite!"  I said pulling away.

"No they're mine" she said pouting and hugging the cookies basket to her chest. I chuckled and went to sit at dine table. She followed me and sat beside me placing the basket on table. Maria served the food ignoring my words to help her, she made me eat fully without leaving anything on my plate and then she went to kitchen to do the dishes, I followed her to help but then she refused and susan dragged me to her room and we made a chat on random topics. I didn't look at the time and kept talking until my mom called me. I then realized that its already 9, I got up and hugged Susan saying that I'm leaving.

"Convey my thanks to your mom for cookies!" she said pulling away. I then hugged Maria and Greg, I bid my byes and left their home.

I turned on the music player with Taylor Swift album and listened the songs while I'm driving, I saw something black lying on the road, its dark outside. Fighting whether to go out to check or not I opened my door and went near it, I saw a man lying there. It looks like he's unconscious, I went to him and shook his shoulder but he didn't move I thought to bring some water for him and stood up but then he grabbed my ankle making me to fell on the ground. I screamed and stood up to get inside my car but he blocked my way and shoved out a knife which is sharp enough to take my life out. I started to try my ways out to get to the car but he refused to let me, at last he grabbed my hair in his fist and kept the knife to my neck "Give me your money or wallet. Otherwise I'll kill you miss!"  I screamed in pain as he started pulling my hair out of scalp.

"Hey, drop the knife!" I heard a male voice and then my eyes fell on Blake.

What is he doing here? At this time!

"Who are you? Don't come near or I'll stab her" the man threatened. After sometime Blake hurled on us and grabbed his wrist which is holding the knife, accidentally the knife went through my left wrist giving a cut rashly making me to scream in pain.

"Evelyn!" Blake shouted and the man left my hair, making me to fall on ground groaning in pain. Tears started spilling on my lap and my vision blurred, the man ran away after earning a few punches from Blake. Blake came to me and kneeled down he saw my bleeding hand and wrapped his hanky tightly to stop the bleeding. My tears fell down without my consent and my body started shaking, Blake hugged me to his chest and coed making me to stop crying, then after sometime he made me to stood up and we walked to my car.

"I'll drive you to your home!" he said opening the passenger door for me. I got inside without saying a word and fastened my belt. He came around and got into driver seat, he pressed a button to stop the music player and drove to my home silently.
