In Other Words
A/N: Okay, today's prompt is Bakusquad, right? And what I do, is I leave myself notes for each pf these, giving a brief plot idea for each oneshot. Very helpful, honestly. But not today's. Today's was, and I quote / cannot stress this enough:
"Bruv"
That's it.
SO NOW I'M JUST GONNA IMPROVISE! OKAY?! OKAY! U.A. IS A UNIVERSITY AND ALL CHARACTERS ARE OVER 21.
Kirishima's POV
"Hey, Bakugou!" Denki said, flopping on the back of the couch between where Bakugou and I sat. "The rest of the Bakusquad, plus Shinsou, Jirou and Yaomomo are gonna do some karaoke tonight at that karaoke bar in town. Wanna come?"
Bakugou scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Please, why would I do that when I could study? Or sleep?"
"C'mon, Bakugou," I groaned. "Please? It'll be fun, I promise! You don't even have to go up. You can just watch Denki, Hanta and I make total fools of ourselves. You can sit down and get food too! Plus, we already asked for permission for the five of us, plus Shinsou, Yaomomo and Jirou,"
Bakugou hesitated, which made me grin because that meant he was thinking about how to say yes and protect his tough dude image.
"Fucking whatever. I ain't gonna help you guys home if you get shit-faced," he rolled his eyes.
I swear, he does it so much that it seems like they'll just be stuck in some rolled position forever.
"Sweet! Thank you, Bakugou!" I grinned, slinging an arm around him.
"Whatever,"

We piled into Jirou's band van, but that wasn't enough to fit the eight of us.
So Jirou drove, Yaomomo sat beside her, Hanta and Mina sat in the middle, while Bakugou and I sat in the back. Denki and Shinsou were in Shinsou's car.
"So," I mumbled, almost unheard over Mina and Hanta's laughter. "I think I know the answer to this, but think you'll sing anything tonight?"
"In your fucking dreams," he scoffed.
Oh, you don't know how on the fucking nose you are.
Everyone in our dorm building knows I like singing.
When I hear a song that's really catchy or just super good, I can't help myself, and I just start singing.
Even if I know the notes are too high, if I'm feeling confident, I try to match the pitch, and when I succeed, I feel great! When I fail, I laugh it off and just keep going.
I genuinely enjoy singing.
But I also love hearing other people sing, too.
Even if they aren't confident in their voice, I wanna make them feel good about their voice.
No matter how much it breaks, or if their voice is "too high" or "too deep" for what they wanna sing.
I'll admit, there were people who didn't really... react the best when I took chorus.
The popular kids would seemingly force out a "congratulations" when they found out I was singing in the lowest part. Or they'd snicker and laugh behind their hands.
A few even mocked my voice by throwing it down really deep.
I know that having a deep voice could be considered pretty manly, but I just... didn't quite like when people would do that.
Probably just being sensitive, but whatever.
I also just hated chorus in general, because of said popular kids.
And now I genuinely can enjoy singing.
But I desperately wanted to hear Bakugou sing.
I mean, normally hearing his voice makes my heart stop.
But if I heard him sing... I'd probably faint.
So, once we'd pulled up to the bar, I felt my heart beat that much quicker.

"Everything's gone to shit," Bakugou mumbled, downing another sip of beer.
Denki was up on stage at the moment, screaming along to "Shower" by Becky G, Momo and Jirou were making out in the bathroom, and Mina was flirting with the bartender.
Hanta, Shinsou, Bakugou and I were sitting in our booth, just casually vibing, as one may do.
"I'M DANCING IN THE MIRROR, SINGING IN THE SHOWER,"
"Shinsou, you should probably cut Denki off," I whispered, stirring my piña colada a bit out of boredom.
"Already had that planned out,"
"How many steps?" Hanta asked.
"Four,"
"Add seven more, and that seems more accurate to how it'll go, realistically," Bakugou sighed, placing his head on the table.
"You okay?"
"Jirou signed me up," he muttered.
"Really?! That's awesome! When?"
"When she was singing ' I Think I'm in Love' while giving fuck-me eyes to her girlfriend," he sighed, taking another swig.
"Wait, so that's gotta mean you're up soon!" Hanta laughed. "No way! Can't wait to see that!"
"Probably gave him something metal," Shinsou mumbled.
"That'd be even better!" Hanta wheezed.
BE STILL, MY BEATING HEART!
"Wait, have you gone tonight, Kirishima?" Shinsou asked.
"Huh? No, not yet. I still need to, I know," I sighed as a waiter brought a basket of fries to our booth.
"You'd do fine, dumbass," Bakugou muttered, munching on a fry.
"Yeah, I know. I just signed up a little later in the night. If we don't stay long enough, it won't matter anyway. I'd probably be caught singing songs in the dorms anyway," I shrugged.
"Whatever,"
"Is Katsuki Bakugou still here?" the woman calling up names asked.
"Go get 'em, bro!" I grinned.
Where I was expecting heavy drums and some slamming bass, I instead heard soft, acoustic guitar.
"Fly me to the moon,"
OH FUCK.
His voice was prettier than I could've ever imagined.
You'd probably expect his voice to be rougher, or have a bit of an edge, but it was actually super soft.
Like, it felt like a lullaby.
"Let me play among the stars. Let me see what spring is like on a, Jupiter and Mars,"
He wasn't looking at the words at all, implying that he knew the song by heart.
His hands stuffed in his pockets, he was lightly bouncing on his feet, looking to avoid all eye contact.
"In other words, hold my hand,"
Yet, his attempts at missing people's eyes failed as we caught each other's gaze.
"In other words, baby, kiss me,"
He smiled.
Not his cocky grin.
Not a forced, weird smile.
A genuine, cute smile.
"Fill my heart with song, and let me sing for ever more,"
He was still smiling, still singing, and still looking at me.
Like, staring at me.
"You are all I long for, all I worship and adore,"
Oh my God, he's so pretty.
My heart was trying to throb out of my chest.
"In other words, please be true,"
He was definitely much more confident, his voice projecting much better.
"In other words, I love you,"
The song went instrumental, and he walked off the stage, bringing the cordless mic with him.
He walked up to our booth, offering me his hand.
"C'mon," he said with a smile.
Wordlessly, I took his hand and walked up to him, back on stage.
"Fill my heart with song, let me sing for ever more,"
He put the mic in the mic stand, turning to me.
"You are all I long for, all I worship and adore,"
As he sang that lime, he took my hands in his, looking me in the eyes.
Then he began to lean in.
"In other words, please be true," he murmured these words, almost on my lips.
I tilted my head to the side, pressing my lips to his.
Everything in the world around me faded.
All I could concentrate on was his lips against mine.
He missed a few words as we kissed before he pulled away.
"I love you," he whispered, leaning our foreheads together.
