8) Never Have I Ever turned sour

Ranboo put on the nightshirt, humming slightly when he discovered that it fit. It did hang off his skinny limbs, but aside from that, it fits pretty well. The holes in the back for the wings were a tad bit large, but Techno had larger wings, so it was to be expected.

As he picked up his dress shirt and blazer (he wasn't about to change his pants unless he knew that Tommy had a pair of pajama pants that fit), he heard a muffled conversation between Tommy and Tubbo. He knew he shouldn't eavesdrop, especially not with a serious conversation, but...

A few minutes wouldn't hurt, surely.

"I need to cut it again." He heard Tubbo's muffled voice. He assumed that Tubbo was talking about his hair.

"There's really nothing wrong with longer hair, Tubbs." That was Tommy. His voice was uncharacteristically soft. "Just look at Wilbur or Techno."

"Tommy..."

"Yeah...I know...but you let it grow super long already. It's almost blocking your eyes."

"Why do you think I need to cut it? And besides..." he heard Tubbo sigh.

Ranboo frowned, deciding to leave the bathroom then. There was clearly a deeper meaning behind that seemingly simple conversation, and he wasn't about to eavesdrop any further.

Both boys looked at him as he left the bathroom and set his stuff on a nearby chair. Tubbo was frowning, but he didn't ask. "I really appreciate you getting me a shirt, Tommy. Really."

Tommy waved him off, feigning a smile. "It's really no big deal."

Before Ranboo could say anything else, Tubbo raised his hand. Both Tommy and Ranboo looked at him, and he smiled shyly. "Could we play a game?"

"Like...what?" Tommy asked.

Tubbo shrugged. "Truth or dare? Never have I ever? Something like that?"

Tommy blinked. "What, are we in a cliche teenage girl sleepover scene in a high school movie?"

Tubbo furrowed his brows. "What's a movie?"

"Never Have I Ever sounds fun," Ranboo interrupted quietly.

Tommy rolled his eyes. "Fine then, do whatever the fuck you guys want, I guess."

"Fine then. We have to have all ten fingers up, and we take turns saying something we've never done. If you've done it, you put a finger down. Last one with any fingers up wins." Tubbo explained. "Order will be oldest to youngest—Tommy, I see that look you're giving me and I don't care."

"So...it'd be me, Tubbo, then Tommy, and then it cycles around?" Ranboo asked, and Tubbo nodded.

"You guys are assholes." Tommy pouted but held his fingers up with the other two anyway.

"So, uh, Never Have I Ever..." Ranboo started, "broke my wing?"

Tommy looked down sheepishly. "Does a sprained wing count?"

Ranboo shrugged. "Guess not."

Tommy whooped as Tubbo hummed. "Never Have I ever..." he grinned at Ranboo mischievously, "claimed that my stuffed animal is my son."

Ranboo glared daggers at him as he put a thumb down. "Screw you, Michael is my son!"

Tommy coughed, and Ranboo noticed that he also put a finger down. Ranboo furrowed his eyebrows and got a shy smile in return.

"I have a spider plush that Wilbur got me when I was little." Tommy somewhat explained, "Anyway, never have I ever dropped out of school because I was too smart," Tommy said, glaring at Tubbo, who put a finger down.

"Okay, never have I ever snuck out to a bar to find my older brother," Ranboo said, causing Tubbo and Tommy to put down a finger while they glared at him.

"Fine, if you really wanna play this game...never have I ever helped my dad in his bar," Tubbo smirked. Ranboo glared at him as he put down a finger.

Tommy grinned. "Never have I ever stolen my best friend's clothes."

Tubbo gawked at him as he put a finger down. "You dick!"

Ranboo frowned. "Uh...never have I ever worn contacts to change my eye color."

Tubbo put down another finger as he frowned. "Never have I ever snuck out while grounded!"

Tommy huffed as he put a finger down.

"Never have I ever gotten offended over a simple joke!" Tommy yelled.

Tubbo flipped him off as he put a finger down. "Never have I ever pretended to be supportive of said friend!"

Tommy gawked. "I've always been supportive! I've never pretended!"

"So why are you suddenly not okay with it!?" Tubbo exclaimed, but his voice broke.

"Who said I wasn't okay with it?" Tommy asked.

"Well, since you just suddenly started teasing me about it—"

"That's what friends do! They tease each other!"

"Not about this! And not to this extent!"

Ranboo quietly stood up, leaving the bedroom.

That was clearly a conversation between the two of them, and he wasn't gonna butt in.
