25) Believe it or not, Tommy doesn't always cause problems

Tommy, Tubbo, and Ranboo sat down at a small table, eating waffles, eggs, and bacon that Lizzie was so nice to cook for them. They watched Wilbur and Lizzie argue, partially about Wilbur not believing that Lizzie was the one who threw a guy out the window, and partially about Lizzie not letting Wilbur pay her for the food.

"She's really nice," Tubbo mumbled through a mouthful of eggs.

"She's too old for you," Ranboo said jokingly.

Tubbo rolled his eyes as he swallowed his food. He turned to Tommy, who was picking at his food. "Okay, so how did you break the window? I promise we won't tell."

Tommy slammed his fork down. "How many times do I have to say it!? I didn't break the fucking window!"

Ranboo blinked. "Wait, actually? You actually didn't break the window?"

"Yes! I didn't break it!" Tommy said, crossing his arms.

"So, how did it break, then?" Ranboo asked.

"I've told you, Lizzie broke it!" Tommy insisted.

Ranboo looked at her, looked at the window, looked at her again, then looked back at Tommy. "...really...?"

"Hey, you can't judge how strong someone is based on their appearance," Tommy said defensively. "Just look at Tubbo."

Tommy gestured to Tubbo, who was halfway through Tommy's uneaten breakfast. When he noticed that the attention was on him, he swallowed his mouthful of waffle. "Wha—?"

Ranboo sighed and shook his head. "He's different—"

"—not really." Tommy interrupted.

Their attention was pulled back to Lizzie when a guard ran in, looking frantic.

"Oh, hey Joel—"

The guard—Joel—grabbed her hands. "Lizzie! Scott has heard that you're selling something that he's very interested in, and will be here by noon."

She frowned. "So, why did you have to run over here to tell me now? I still have a few hours—"

"Because I won't be able to tell you later." He interrupted. "I'm being sent to the Antarctic Empire to help keep the peace."

She frowned. "For how long...?"

"I don't know..." he said sadly.

"How many are being sent?" She asked.

He shrugged. "I think about a quarter of us? Mostly us younger and inexperienced guards."

She scoffed. "Oh, why I outta—"

"Please don't do anything rash." He interrupted. "I don't know what I'd do if Scott threw you in a dungeon...or worse..."

She sighed. "I promise I won't cause trouble."

He smiled softly as he kissed her forehead. "Good."

Then, Tubbo sneezed. The guard turned around and blushed when he saw the four strangers in the room.

He turned back to Lizzie and smiled softly. "I'll see you in...a while."

She nodded. "Bye."

Tubbo practically fell out of his chair running to the guard, who was halfway out the door when Tubbo stopped him.

"Hey, um, mister, my sister is in the Antarctic Empire guard and she's probably worried sick about me. If you see her, can you tell her that I'm okay?" Tubbo asked. "She's the only girl in the guard, you can't miss her."

The guard furrowed his brow. "How long has she been in the guard...?"

Tubbo shrugged. "I don't know, since the queen died?"

"Is her name Puffy?" The guard asked.

Tubbo grinned, nodding vigorously. "Yes! Yes, it is, how did you know?"

The guard giggled. "I met her during my brief visit to the Antarctic Empire a while ago. Honestly, she's kind of the reason why I got the courage to ask out Lizzie..." he smiled as he turned to Lizzie, who was collecting the plates from the table.

Tubbo smiled. "Then I'm sure she'll be happy to see you again."

The guard nodded, smiling. "What's your name?"

"I'm Tubbo."

The guard nodded. "Nice to meet you, Tubbo. I'm Joel."

And with that, he left.
